Multiple iPhones, sending things to each we don't want!
iCloud is "getting" my family in ways we didn't realize it could.
Situation, 3 iPhones, 1 for me and my wife, and then we have her mother on our account too but she doesnt live with us.We also have an iPad.
Wife or I set a reminder, mother also gets it.
I send my wife a iMessage from our iPad and her mother gets it. My wife replies to my iPad, I DON'T get it, but my mother-in-law does.
I can live with photo stream with her photos and all, but seems a few of the other "services" are bogging me down.
Any suggestions?
You all probably are logged in with the same iCloud apple id. iCloud is meant for 1 person with their multiple devices. Now you all probably have the same apple id for purchases, you can still continue to do that, but only 1 person should have that ID as an icloud id. The others should make new icloud ID's for themselves. If not, go to Settings-iCloud on the devices and turn off the content you don't want sent to other devices, it won't sync then, but the family won't get them as well.

Yes, I have the option "NONE" on my phone but what happens is that I have the incoming text without any sound (selected in "none") but when I send a text, still happens! that annoying sound!

Is there a way to manually manage apps? I have lots of apps that I don't want on my iphone all the time, but I don't want to delete them from my itunes account permanently.
Deleting apps on your phone does not remove them from your account. They can be re-downloaded for free from the App Store, or synced from your computer as needed.
The easiest way to manage apps is to connect to iTunes on your computer, go to the Apps page of your device in iTunes, select which apps to remove, then sync. -
Is there anyway to turn off the Group MMS texting? I want to send a mass text but don't want every person to see every other person's response. I am getting ready to have a baby and want to send one text out to friends and family when the baby comes BUT I don't want all of those people to receive the responses. Can I turn it off temporarily? Please help!

plug your phone in, open iphoto if it doesn't open automatically.
your device should open up in iphoto so you can view your pictures. click import all and you can choose to delete from device after import or not. -
how can i insert a file in a mail message i send to someone? i don't want the picture to be open or the text to be displayed. I want to send the file as a file. Pleas advise. thank you.
Attach it to the message. An attachment is an attachment -- if it is displayed or not by the recipient's e-mail client is not under your control.
You can zip it (compress it) before sending it; if it's text, you should zip it anyway; if it's JPEG, zipping will not reduce the size (in fact, it's even possible it may increase it slightly), but most e-mail clients do not display what's inside a zip archive. -
When someone send me a message I don't want them to no I read it I click allow this to happen when I first updated my phone but I do not want this feature how can I take it out ?
If you mean iMessage then go into Messages in the Settings app. The feature is Read Receipts.

Multiple playlists with the same song but don't want duplicates on the iPhone
I have many playlists to organize my music and many songs end up in multiple playlists. I want to have these playlists in my phone but do not want duplicate songs taking up space on the phone. How do I do this?
To be more detailed, I am a musicain and I keep playists of the songs I need to know for different bands that I'm in and often times there are songs that multiple bands require me to know. Also, I have DJ playists that again, will utilize the same song. These are two examples of how one song can be in multiple playlists. I really need these playlists in my phone but I can't have some Beatles song four or five times in my phone. Isn't there a way to import a playlist as a pointer or locator to metadata so the playlist, once imported, just parses through the existing songs on my phone and generates the playist? This seem like it would be a fairly simple thing for Apple to do, no?

So my Playlists and Smart Playlists are only made up of music (plus four or five music videos that don't represent a lot of space), no Audiobooks and no TV Shows.
When I click on my Music folder, it says I have 4.12GB on the bottom (including the Music videos).
Since I don't sync anything else on my 8GB iPhone but this 4.12GB of music, reorganized in Playlists, I don't see why I get a box saying I need 12GB to fit everything in.
So what I do now is manually sync my music, which on my iPhone takes up about 4GB. But I want my Playlists too...
It's as soon as I want to sync on my Playlists that everything goes wrong.
So... do you have any more suggestions/ideas?

That's because you undoubtedly both used the same Apple ID. As stated, if you don't want your stuff mixed, you will need separate Apple ID's if you intend to sync to iCloud.

IPod on iPhone Shuffling My Music When I Don't Want it Shuffled
A few weeks ago I noticed that my iPhone 3G started shuffling my music in playlists without me clicking the Shuffle button. I set up several playlists where the order is very important, does anyone know if there is a bug and if the bug will be fixed, when? Anyone else having this problem?
Thanks,It isn't a bug, but rather not clear usability. If you ever click the "word" Shuffle when looknig at a list, that isn't really the place to set shuffle, but rather a shortcut. What it does is turn Shuffle on (setting) then start playing.
Go play any song.
Tap middle of screen.
Another progress menu will appear near top.
In that menu it has Shuffle, Repeat and Progress options.
There if Shuffle is Blue (on) tap it to turn it White (off).
And remember, if you ever click the word Shuffle in a list again, it turns that setting on as it is a global setting to the iPod player. -
I'm running OSX 10.5.8 - iTunes 10 will no longer export to mu iPhone. This system can't upgrade to iTunes 11. Is there a work around?
