Multiple License for different Labview version

A coworker is trying to tell me that he read somewhere on the NI forums or knowledge base that with a multiple license it is possible to use
the maximum number of licenses on EACH version of Labview. That is, if there are 5 licenses available that there could be 5 copies of 8.5 and 5 copies of 9.0, etc. available for concurrent use. That seems pretty unlikely to me. Can someone clarify?

If you have a single license then the different license types are the different options you have for using the software. So, you could use your single license as a "Computer-Based License" and only activate it on one computer for multiple people to have access to. The other option you have is to use it as a "Named-User License" and install it on 3 computers in different locations for your use. For instance, you could install it on your personal PC/laptop, your office computer, and your labroom computer. This is designed for your use only and will allow you to use LabVIEW at different locations during the day.

We had the same problem - how to deploy a number of identical applications, using each their own db.
(for training).
The solution we used is to wrap the entire application into different applications by using a very small
module called KURSUS01, KURSUS02 etc, that did nothing but call the start procedure of the main app.
Then in the dbsession connect, we made a call appname to get the application name, and appended the
first 8 chars to the dbname. Thus our dbnames now points to logicals name: rdbdataKURSUS01, rdbdataKURSUS02 etc.
All this allows us to deploy the identical apps in the same env, or change one version, and run both the old
and new program on the same pc and server at the same time (eg. KURSUS01 and KURSUS02).
I also think this is a kludge - but it works nicely!

developer moaning) I would go for option two; as I have already worked on
multi-environment setups on VMS back at the Hydro (hi guys).
I would appreciate any comments from anyone who has solved this problem.

DOCUMENT IS LICENSED FOR DIFFERENT ACCOUNT

Bought EPUB book off of B&N site for my Pandigital Reader, trying to read it on my computer. I keep getting message "DOCUMENT IS LICENSED FOR DIFFERENT ACCOUNT" . I followed directions in another thread to fix issue and I still get error message
How do I find out WHAT account document CAN be read on? I have 2 diff emails attached to this ADOBE DIG READER & neither of them will allow me to read this book!
This is WILD! As wild as not being able to unlock DRM books to read on diff devices or convert to PDF
Anywho, is there a way to find this out (what account I CAN read it on?)

Small runtime engine for newer labview versions?

A few times in the past I have created simple LabVIEW standalone executibles. I did this in 8.6 and used the runtime engine minimal installer instead of the full version. This resulted in an installation package size of 30-35 Meg.
I agin need to create a simple executible but have not seen a minimum runtime installer for any LabVIEW version since 8.6
Are there any minimal runtimes for other versions?
The default 2014 runtime is 264 Meg!!! It is hard to explain to a customer why a simple "Hello World" program requires a 200+ Meg download.

SCC with different LabVIEW versions

Hi. I have many different projects, and some of them are in older versions of LabVIEW. I was wondering if there is support and what kind of support there is for older versions in the SCC tools of LabVIEW 6.1

We don't offer any cross versions tools for the source code control because VIs are generally saved in the LabVIEW version in which they were edited. If you want to use SCC with a project in an older version of LabVIEW, we recommend checking the files out of the master directory into the local, opening the VIs from the old local with LabVIEW 6.1, saving, and putting the VIs in a new project with the 6.1 SCC. This way you leave the old master directory intact for backup purposes.

How can I manage multiple iPads for different students?

Problem: I need to manage multiple iPads for my students with special needs. I need to download different apps to different iPads and I'm not sure how to keep their apps separate but still keep ultimate control of the units (i.e. lock them from loading anything on the apps that we at the school district haven't approved).
I need to be the only one doing updates, loading software, etc., and don't want to keep using my own personal iTunes account...any suggestions?

Multiple "vserver" for different apps in a single VLAN (Bridge Mode)

I'm deploying Cat6500 with CSM-S & FWSM modules. Doing bridge mode for the CSM (and FWSM will do the inter-VLAN routing upfront).
There are 3 (three) different applications (Vidiator, BEA & XIAM) placed in the Internet VLAN. Each application consist of multiple servers. Two applications (BEA & XIAM) need to be load-balanced, and the other one (Encoder) in the same VLAN does NOT need to be load-balanced.
The questions are:
- Is it possible to create multiple virtual servers (vserver) for different applications (BEA & XIAM) on the same VLAN client/server ?
- Is it also possible to do Load Balancing only for some Servers (BEA & XIAM) on one VLAN, while other servers (Encoder) on the same VLAN do NOT need load-balance? If, so what is the method? If not, what should be done?
Below is the script for CSM-S that I'm planning to deploy, please kindly provide your comments and advices.

1. For the multiple vservers.
Both applications provide HTTP service but think that I could run them on different port number: 80 and 8080. Will this work?
2. About the non-loadbalancing apps (encoder).
There are two servers and future adding is possible. They can work independently of each other. Both servers just provide FTP access, for content provider to upload files.
Since both servers will run the same service (FTP) and port number, I don't think we can create two vservers for them, right?
You also said that I could have the server in the internet vlan and client accessing it directly. Is this mean that no vserver config needed? So, from FWSM the client traffic will go straight to the servers (without passing the CSM)?
If this is possible, sound like good option to me.
Please kindly provide your advice/comments.

How can I procure a TLP license for the French version of Adobe Acrobat?

My company has been successfully licensing the English language version of Adobe Acrobat (Std 7 Pro) under TLP for nearly two years from our US-based reseller, for locations in both the US and in Canada. Now I have a license request from our location in Quebec for the French language version, and neither my reseller nor the reseller's Adobe specialist have been able to provide any useful (or even coherent) advice on how to accomplish that. Can you help?

Nobody at Adobe sales, support, or in its reseller or user community has a clue how to procure a TLP license for Acrobat in a jurisdiction using one language localization and deploy it to a subsidiary in a jurisdiction using another? Surely you aren't serious? This is an elementary corporate software licensing question. The inability of Adobe (et al) to provide any answer does not bode any better for its future than does the fall of Flash to HTML5 for web page rendering. The history of IT companies that come to believe that they have some kind of historical entitlement to market share and no longer need to work for it isn't pretty. Watching this company attempt to sustain itself on Creative Cloud subscriptions alone should be amusing. One more reason to lkeep looking for alternative formats and products, I guess.

I had purchased the attached ebook previously. I recently changed my operating system from Windows XP to Windows 7. So I also migrat

I did not authorize digital editions with adobe id at the time of purchasing ebooks,

Delivery to multiple invoices for different BPs

Hi,
I have the following scenario:
You add a delivery note for one customer. There are situations when should be three different invoices, but for other 3 different BPs as the customer who received the goods is not necessarily the one paying for them.
I know there is a payment consolidation, but you can only include one father code.
Any ideas?

Hi Cristina,
it must be very difficult to keep track of who received what goods & who is meant to pay for them.
If this group of BPs is definite, you could create a virtual 'master' consolidating BP & run a group account where you keep all the billing addresses in the one spot. The disadvantage is that you will not easily be able to pinpoint which of the 'child' BPs still owes for what invoice.
You can also create invoices & payments for different BPs & then use internal reconciliation with multiple BPs. This may be more traceable option, but depends on manual actions & is therefore error prone.

Runtime.exec() for different Windows versions ?

Hello all.
I'm currently developing a Java program that uses Runtime.exec() to launch a MS-DOS application (the old MS-Kermit). It works fine under Windows ME and Java 1.3.1 but the very same code fails to work under Windows 2000. That's very bad for me, since my program should work on all windows platforms from 95 up to XP (and NT).
My question is : can I trust Runtime.exec() or am I damned to write different versions of the same command for different operating systems ?

Runtime is not os independent, so yes, it has to accomodate the os differences. There is an enhancement request on the subject, tho.
Search the forums, there is code that handles the differences posted.

The principles of this architecture are to build a BW with separate layers (PSA, ODS or cubes) and independant domains (for instance: country, company etc;). In simple word and in your case, it could be an architecture with independant infoProviders (and data flows) for each company so that a problem occuring for one dataload (and one company) doesn't impair the dataload of another company. You could still do cross company reports using multiproviders but each company is totally independant in term of dataloads and data.

How can we use a pdf form multiple times for different people (students)?

Our school created a pdf form of our report card but we are not able to "save as" the forms for use by multiple teachers for multiple students. Please advise.

Just use Adobe Reader XI. Adobe Reader XI allows for forms data saving but it does NOT allow for locking down that data.
