Multiple lines in text field will not print

I have created several text fields in a form that was created to be filled in and then printed. The text fields allow for multiple lines but when they are printed they only print the text that has been displayed. Is there any way to get Adobe to print all of the text in the field? Thanks! Teri

I am also having trouble with this. I am using LiveCycle Designer that came packaged with Adobe Pro. I have a form that has several one-line text fileds and checkboxes at the top and then the last field is a text field for comments. I need this text box to expand to a second page, if necessary. I am VERY new at this and I find the help features with the applicaiton hard to understand. I have the field set to "expand to fit" and I have checked the "allow multiple lines" and saved as dynamic form. It allows me to type as much as I want but it doesn't print. Just displays a + sign at the bottom. I looked at the sample purchase order form and that didn't help me. Can someone give me simple clear instruction on what to do?
Nay hekp would be ver much appreciated.
Thanks

  • My text fields will not expand

I have a suggestion form that i created in adobe livecycle. The text fields will not expand when there is more text than what fits in the box. A scroll bar comes up when there is more text than what can fit,  but this will not do. I have the 'expand to fit' checked and allow multiple lines. Any help?

    Hi,
Have a look at this example of the process for making fields dynamic: http://assure.ly/g80MVY.
    A couple of pointers:
The form will need to be saved as a Dynamic XML Form in the save-as dialog.
You should group objects that don't need to be flowed into a Positioned subform(s), as step 3 will move things around.
The page will need to be set to Flowed in the Object > Subform palette.
That should get you most of the way there.

  • HT3412 Want to order books but received the following message, "your book appears to have unedited text which will not print in your book."  What does that mean?

Please help.  Want to order completed book but received the following message, "your book appears to have unedited text which will not be printed in your book."  What does that mean?  Why did the program let me use text that will not print?

Go thru every page in the book and look for any text box.  Unused text boxes will have somegthing like this in them:
    or this:
Just put a space in those text boxes where you didn't put text previously.  Check the inside flaps of the book jacket also.

  • Firefox 5 with Fedora 15 prints text, but will not print images from web pages.

I have a Pentium 3 laptop running Fedora 15 and using Firefox 5.0. Firefox will print the text from a website, but will not print the images. It just leaves the spaces blank where the images should be. Print preview shows the same results. I have a AMD desktop and a Pentium 4 laptop running the same software, except that the desktop is running the 64-bit version of Fedora 15 and the second laptop is running the 32-bit version. The desktop prints the text and images without very many problems, but both laptops will print the text, but ''not'' the images.
As a test, I downgraded Firefox from version 5.0 to 4.0.1 on the Pentium 4 laptop and encountered the same problem. So, since I do not print much from either laptop, I had not before seen this problem. The desktop has never seen it.
I figure it may be an about:config problem, but I do not know what the parameter may be that is causing the problem.

  • Rich text field will not show proper font attributes! (Bug? - RTF OTF font handling)

I created two text form fields (rich text)...
In Windows 7, Write program (using it to format the rich text content)... I edited my two lines.
Line one: mix of two font sizes and a few attribute changes... pasted into the first text field perfectly.
Line two: similar to the above... pasted into the second text field but the font is appearing in bold! It is not bold in the source, nor is it preset in the text field properties! I even pasted it back into Write AND Word and it pastes as I intended it.
Why is Adobe doing this? I even tried to toggle >Text Style > bold on/off, clear formatting... these functions do not work!
If I bring up the properties toolbar (Ctrl-E), bold is toggled on but I cannot toggle it off, I can add underline, I can change the font size.
UPDATE: It seems that Adobe Acrobat is NOT reading the OTF font correctly! If I change to a different font, in the same family, the problem changes from set on bold to set on italics!
It is specifically related to the font I am using but is ONLY a problem when using Rich Text fields. In other words, the entire font family works perfectly if I inserted a text box or use the font family in any other Adobe product.
    I have submitted a bug report: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform&loc=en

Another possibly revealing clue is that when I go to Text Field Properties > Appearance tab > Text / Font, I see the entire family of this particular font. However, when editing the text in the properties toolbar (Ctrl-E), only a small sub-set of this font family appears and the attributes behave in an odd manner. Example: normal font appears as italics but if I switch on BOLD, the italic attribute is gone... and other strange attribute problems.

  • Multiple Lines of Text not showing up

    Hi,
Recently we have observed on a particular site in SharePoint farm that whenever we are adding list field of Multiline Text.
It is not showing up in list forms (New, Display, Edit). Test is Multiple Lines of Text field. This is happening on all the existing as well as new lists.
I searched for the issue but couldn't find any solution.
Please guide me on this issue. Appreciate your help.

    Hi Rahul,
Per my understanding, the Multiple Line of Text column not showing up in all the form pages in one of your site.
I suggest you do as follows to troubleshoot this issue in your environment:
    1. Is there any update or customization applied to this site recently?
    2. Please inspect the HTLM source code of the Multiple Line of Text field in NewForm page to see if there is corresponding HTML code in the page. In my page, the HTML
code of the Multiple Line of Text field like this:
    3. If the HTML structure exists, then it is probably a CSS issue, please check if there is custom CSS style applied to this site which would conflict with the built-in
style of the Multiple Line of Text field.

  • All lines on PDF form are not printing

Greetings to all. I am running Adobe Acrobat XI version 11.0.0 on Windows 7 Home 64bit OS. I have made an attempt to print a PDF form. All of the lines in the form will not print. The properties of the document are:  PDF Producer: MAC OS X 10.7.4 Quartz PDFContext and PDF Version: 1.3 (Acrobat 4.x). My printer is HP PSC 2350 series. There are about 30 lines on the form and out of the 30, 4 lines will not print. This form was not created by me. I saved the PDF from my university's website. Also and strangely, when I go to my printer settings and select Booklet, under Page Sizing & Handling, everything prints perfectly. I did try editing the lines by increasing the stroke width under Content and Editing but all of the lines still will not print. Here is a screenshot of the form from the website. My question is what settings on my printer or adobe acrobat do I need to change? Or what could be the cause of this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please do not hesitate to respond if more information is needed.

Most likely, the fault lies with the application used to fill in the forms,
which is probably Apple Preview, that is known to cause this problem. You
can fix the forms with this utility:
    http://blog.practicalpdf.com/2013/08/introducing-the-practicalpdf-fix-form-utility/
And in the future instruct your users not to use Preview, but only Adobe
    Reader (or Adobe Acrobat).

  • SELECTING MULTIPLE LINES OF TEXT

Is there a way to select multiple lines of text that are not continuous?  e.g. - a list with 10 lines - can you select lines 1, 3, 5, & 7?  I am having to add additional formatting to a Table of Contents that is already done.  I have been using the 'bullets and numbers' to format 1 line at a time but then I cannot get the new numbers to 'align right'.  I want to be able to select all the lines that need the new numbers at once to see if I can get the alingment to work correctly.  I am trying to avoid having to re-do the whole thing.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In order to use an ID genereated TOC you HAVE TO BE using paragraph styles, because theat's eaht the TOC picks up.
For each paragraph style that you pick up, in the TOC dialog you have the ability to specify both a paragraph style for formatting the entry, and a character style for formatting the number if that should be different.
Now for the bad news. There is no mechanism whatever for changing the number format for the page number from arabic to roman other than to select it and manually replace the number, in which case selecting anything other than the numbers, one at a time, is counterproductive, or changing the number style on the page itself, which is where it should be happening, in the numbering and section options. How are readers supposed to find page ix if no page in the publication actually carries the number ix?

  • Text converted to lines will not print

I have a AICS3 document with some text. The font acts a little funny, but it has been working. It shows up fine in my document, but it will not print. I conert it to lines, it shows up in my document, but it still won't print. I place it in an ID file, export it as a PDF. The text shows up in ID, but will not print. It shows up when I open the PDF in Acrobat Reader, but not in Acrobat. In both cases, the text (that has been long converted to outlines) does not print. Can anyone help? Since the text has been converted to outlines is it not just a group of compound paths? I even changed the fill with no luck. In general, I am very tired of the way we users are treated like criminals when it comes to fonts--regardless if that is the problem here. I mean, what good is a font if you can't print it? Anyway, I digress. Any ideas from anyone? I'd really like to get this thing printed.
    Thanks,

"Overprint fill" is useful in a situation such as 100K text printing over solid yellow. The setting will prevent the yellow from being knocked out behind the black, causing unnecessary registration problems.
White text is created by lack of ink, so preventing the background objects from being knocked out causes the white objects to disappear. Only if you were printing opaque white ink over a color, such as in screen printing, would that ever be used, and probably not even then.
Hopefully an expert will come along with a more detailed and accurate explanation.

  • Text Fields of an External Content Type come across as Multiple Line of Text

In SharePoint 2013 I have an external content type that consists of a couple of short (nvarchar)  fields (no more that 15 characters). When I use this ECT in a custom list the fields from the ECT end up as a "Note" type instead of "Text".
I am not sure how this happens. I have verified this by accessing the list via poweshell where I see the Type being as "Note" and also the SchemaXml showing the colName attribute as "ntext".
The strange thing is that initially when I created the web application and built my lists this was working.
Any ideas or pointers would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Based on your description, my understanding is that When you use the ECT in a custom list the fields from the ECT end up as a "Note" type instead of "Text".
Have you ever changed column types from "Single line of text" to "Multiple Lines of Text" in list?http://www.sharepointdiary.com/2013/09/change-column-type-in-list-using-powershell.html
External content types are made up of fields whose types are a subset of the primitive types of .NET. For each such .NET type, a rudimentary mapping to SharePoint’s field controls exists, describing a field’s visual appearance. Fields of type string for
instance will, on the new and edit forms, render as a single-line text field.
Besides, check whether the following link is useful:

  • HP C6150 All-In-One Will Not Print Black Text But Does Partial Test Print

Hi.  Thanks in advance for any help anyone can proffer.
I've read through the forum and I think there are some similar issues, but none exactly the same as ours.
This HP C6150 does print pictures, but suddenly stopped printing black text.
HOWEVER, the test prints will print in black with the Windows Logo, but will not print any associated text.
Odd.  It just suddenly stopped printing.
    Variables:
C6150 All in One - No other problems for two years.
Using refilled ink cartridges from outside source. (not my decision)
Ink is full.  No other changes made in last three days.
    Troubleshooting Steps:
Uninstalled and then re-installed software in entirety.
Put in 'new' (refilled) cartridge for black and magenta.
Tried (not sure if successful) soft reset.
Tried cleaning the print cartridge with 'Q-Tip' and distilled water.
Have not yet spent money on new OEM print cartridges.  That is next step unless other suggestions merit.
    Possibilities:
It may be the refilled cartridges, but they've worked so well in the past.
The cartridge prior to the recent replacement was working fine and was not yet out of ink.
The print head might be damaged.  But this should/would affect all black printing and this is not the case.
Were the driver corrupt, the reinstall should have fixed it ... you'd think.
So, we're looking for some suggestions prior to going out and getting a new printer.
Thanks again, in advance, for constructive non-judgmental suggestions.
    MackNC

The likely cause is the black ink is not printing at all.  When printing graphics (like the Windows Test Page) black is made from mixing the color ink.  I would suggest printing an internal diagnostic test page as shown in this page.  Does the black block print?  If not then clean the printheads as described here.

  • 6110 All-in-one sometimes will not print multiple copies

I have had this problem for sometime now. I searched the forum and found the Mopier solution for laserjets, but the 6110 does not have this setting.  The same question regarding the 6110 went unanswered in the only post I found for it.
I am using the 6110 on WinXP Pro and connected by USB
Often times when I try to print multiple copies of a document (MS Word or MS Works as examples) I check 2 copies in the selection box but the printer only prints one copy. I then have to click Print again.  What is strange is, sometimes it performs fine and others it will not print more than one copy at a time.  Sometimes it SEEMS that if I change the "collate" checkmark it works, but proper functioning does not seem to be able to be recreated every time.
I do not get any error messages, the darn thing just acts like I have 1 copy selected rahter than two. I notice that when this happens and I go to print a second copy, the dialogue box has reverted back to 1 copy, but in those few times when it DOES print 2 copies, if I go back and select Print, it still shows 2 for the number of copies.
    Any ideas? Thanks in advance

    Hi there,
To make sure the software side of the house is in order lets try downloading and running the print and scan doctor located here:

It can fix a lot on its own and if not give a better idea of what is going on.
