Multiple logins on one account...

Is there any way to have multiple login/passwords connect to the same account in the Room Console?
Is the login/password tied to a particular account URL? Or can I setup two accounts to access the same account URL?
thanks
-sandy

hi Nigel,
We have multiple developers working on a project and the Room Console is a great asset in debugging. Right now we are just sharing one login, which isn't ideal, but isn't the end of the world either.
I think the best solution is probably to build out the Local Server so that it has a RoomConsole. (And can be instantiated from AS3 for unit tests.)
What is the workflow that you guys use for development? Do you use the LocalServer or do you use a server? Or do you have some internal tools that you haven't shared yet?

Can you have multiple users for one account? if so how do you set it up.
We are using it for our department and it would be great to see who created what form instead of it being all one name.

Each person should have their own account. You can easily share the forms with other people in your department. You will be able to see who the author of the form is.

  • HT203998 If I login from one account and logout from them

If I login from one account and logout from them, I can not see the user which I made hidden using the above commands, but when I restart my mac I can see that hidden user on login screen, please help, I don't want to see the hidden user even after restart.

    Hi uddipatel,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  Here is how you hide a user account in the login window on your Mac:
How to hide a user account in OS X - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203998
Hide a user account in OS X Yosemite
You can prevent a user account from appearing in the login window in OS X Yosemite by using these steps:.
    1. Log in as an admin user.
    2. Use this Terminal command, substituting the short account name name of the user you wish to hide for “hiddenuser”:
    sudo dscl . create /Users/hiddenuser IsHidden 1
If you later want to show the hidden user, set the user’s IsHidden attribute to 0 like this:
    sudo dscl . create /Users/hiddenuser IsHidden 0
You can optionally delete the IsHidden attribute instead of setting it to 0.
    Additional Options
You can also move the hidden user's home directory to a place not visible from the Finder, and remove the hidden user's Public Folder share point.
The following command moves the home directory of "hiddenuser" to /var, a hidden directory:
    sudo mv /Users/hiddenuser /var/hiddenuser
The following command updates the user record of "hiddenuser" with the new home directory path in /var:
    sudo dscl . -create /Users/hiddenuser NFSHomeDirectory /var/hiddenuser
The following command removes the Public Folder share point for the user with the long name "Hidden User”:
sudo dscl . -delete "/SharePoints/Hidden User's Public Folder"
Hide a user account in earlier versions of OS X
There are three ways you can hide a user in versions of OS X earlier than Yosemite.
Set the Login window to display name and password fields
In the Users & Groups preferences pane (Accounts pane in Mac OS X v10.6 and earlier), click Login Options, then select "Display login window as: Name and password".
With this enabled, no user accounts are listed in the Login window.
If changing the Login Window to only display the name and password fields does not meet your needs, then you can use the following steps in this article to hide a user account.
Add users to the HiddenUsersList (advanced)
With Mac OS X v10.4 and later you can hide users from the Login window by adding them to the HiddenUsersList array in the /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow.plist file. The following command will hide the users "mei" and "anne" from the Login window:
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow HiddenUsersList -array-add mei anne
Note: These users will still appear in the Accounts (Mac OS X v10.6 and earlier) or Users & Groups (OS X Lion) pane in System Preferences.
Lower the user's UID and enable the Hide500Users option (advanced)
You can use the advanced steps below to change a user's UID, adjust their home directory permissions and enable the Hide500Users option. An example user account "tom" is used below.
The following sample Terminal command changes the user tom's UID to 401. Note: Check to make sure the new UID is not in use before making this change.
    sudo dscl . -create /Users/tom UniqueID 401
This command adjusts the permissions of the user's home directory:
    sudo chown -R tom /Users/tom/
Enable the Hide500Users option with this command:
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow Hide500Users -bool YES

  • Multiple logins on one computer - Different accounts, same picture...?

    Greetings,
Since the iPhone 3.0 recently released push notifications, I decided to open an account for my wife that she could use on her iPhone. From what I understand, iChat now allows multiple logins on each computer.
I set everything up accordingly, noted that I am the admin on this computer, my picture pops into my ichat name. If I then enable her account on the same computer, her login also pops up next to my window. This is working according to plan.
However, if I try to change the picture on her ichat window it also changes on mine. What am I doing wrong here?
    Cheers...

    Hi,
iChat can not display different Buddy Pics for different Buddy Lists.
This may change with Snow Leopard.
Click the iChat Menu and use the Feedback option and post your wish there.
iChat can use one of 4 Buddy pics.
You can set a Pic in the iChat Buddy List by clicking on the current one and using the edit features.
If there is not one in the Address Book for yourself And this tends to be the one selected in System Preferences > Accounts > Your account although you can set them to be different (Three choices so far) it will default to one for the account type (A Running yellow man for AIM, A Blue Globe for @mac.com names and the Cloud for MobileMe names).
Apple have tended to suppose that if two or more people are going to be using a Mac that there are then Mac User Accounts set up on the computer and therefore there is no issue with Buddy Pics.
The iChat Buddy List is held on the AIM server (AIM names, @Mac.com [email protected] ones).
Part of the process is that the local Buddy list compares this to the Address Book and Add the Real names you have entered.
So only this name in the Address Book on that computer will show Real names if entered.
You can Export the Address Book on one computer and Import on the other to get them the same. (Or Sync via MobileMe if you have an Account)
You are getting in to the realms of your wife's Buddies being in your Address Book.
Did I mention another Mac User Account ?

  • Multiple Logins to Same Account?

Is it possible to log onto the same account twice?
I've been experimenting with utilities that provide multiple desktops, such as You Control Desktops. I like the idea, but the fact of being in the same account causes some problems. For instance, I see all of the applications in the dock and when Cmd-Tabbing through applications, rather than just those associated with the current desktop. AppleScript doesn't know about the multiple desktops and nor does the Finder, so the Window menu's list of windows can get quite long.
What I figured would be perfect would be to be able to log onto my account more than once, and have each login be separate and know nothing of the other logins. I can then launch any applications needed for that desktop and only the windows for that application launch would be available, not those in other logins.
This would be similar to fast user switching, except that I wouldn't be switching between accounts, but between logins to a single account. This is important so that each of the logins can share the same home folder and preferences.
    Thanks,
    Chuck

I have been. As I mentioned, I'm experimenting with You Control: Desktops, but find it not quite what I want, and as I thought about it, multiple logins would be what I want.
For instance, AppleScript knows nothing about the multiple desktops, so the scripts I've written to check for existing Finder windows and create new ones if it doesn't find them in a certain state will need to be much more complex. The applications visible in the dock and the Cmd-Tab switching include all applications across all desktops, when it would probably be better to show only those on the current desktop. When an application on a desktop other than the current one brings up a new window (such as a sheet for a progress bar), that window appears on the current desktop rather than the desktop that the parent window belongs to, interrupting the work on the current desktop.
I don't see a technical barrier here. This would be similar to how one can have two Terminal windows open, logged into the same account. Honestly, I don't think this is possible with the current version of Mac OS X, but perhaps one of the intrepid developers at Apple will read this and consider it a good enough idea. I can see that either the user or the system or the individual applications might have to be careful about preferences, but that seems minor as prefs seldom change.
So far, You Control: Desktops is almost there for me, but not quite. I've downloaded a couple of other similar utilities, and plan to check them out as well after the demo period for You Control: Desktops expires. Perhaps one of them will suit me better.
    Thanks,
    Chuck

  • Multiple iPad on one account with iCloud

I would like to update some business iPad (all over the US) from our office (in CA). Is there a way to sync multiple iPads to one iCloud account? However, I would only like to update certain apps (Keynote, movies and some documents). Is there a way to push data to their devices without them pushing anything back to me.
    Thanks!

iPods are sync'd to iTunes libraries (what you see on your computer), not iTunes accounts (which are used to purchase items).

No. Anything purchased is always purchased by that same account and cannot be changed.
He can copy these items to his computer and use them in his iTunes library.
If you authorize his cmputer for your iTunes acoount (iTunes menu Store > Authorize computer)  when he plugs in his iPod, select it in iTunes and select File > Transfer purchases.

  • Multiple ipads on one account

I need to manage several iPads. Can I use one account for all in terms of downloading apps?

    Hi Guy3a,
Legally, if different users are using your group of iPads you will need to use multiple Apple IDs to download apps, or sign up for Apple's Volume Purchase Plan (VPP). For multiple users like in schools or businesses you need to use VPP to purchase multiple licenses (can't share one Apple ID for 10 devices used by 10 students). http://www.apple.com/business/vpp/
    APP STORE PRODUCT USAGE RULES
( i )If you are an individual acting in your personal capacity, you may download and sync an App Store Product for personal, noncommercial use on any iOS Device you own or control.
( ii ) If you are a commercial enterprise or educational institution, you may download and sync an App Store Product for use by either (a) a single individual on one or more iOS Devices used by that individual that you own or control or (b) multiple individuals, on a single shared iOS Device you own or control. For example, a single employee may use an App Store Product on both the employee's iPhone and iPad, or multiple students may serially use an App Store Product on a single iPad located at a resource center or library. For the sake of clarity, each iOS Device used serially by multiple users requires a separate license.
If you are an educational institution or business you will want to enroll in Apple's Volume Purchase Program (VPP) which allows a single Apple ID to purchase multiple licenses of an app. Most developers will offer a 50% discount on their app when 20 or more VPP licenses are purchased in a single transaction.
There is a free OS X program called Apple Configurator that you can use to distribute the VPP codes to your fleet of iPads. Apple Configurator uses a single Apple ID to install apps on your iPads. Configurator will also allow you to install free apps on multiple iPads using a single enterprise Apple ID. See http://help.apple.com/configurator/mac/1.0/ for details.
    Hope this answers your question!

  • Multiple users using One account and issue making calls to 1-800-###...

We have 15 volunteers who are using One account we set up for them. They login at the same time and need to make 1-800 calls (same number) concurrently. Right now, when you start pressing 800 all of sudden the display goes blank (cx300) and can't even finish
entering the number. We have Lync 2010 and 2013 running together and most services moved to Lync 2013. Before we introduced Lync 2013 we did have this problem, but only intermittently. Now with Lync2013 it is consistent issue.
    What settings do I change?
Do I need to create more accounts and assign Lync #s respectively?

    Hi,
Would you please tell us what did you do with this scenario?
Please check if there is any error message from Mediation Server and FE Server when the issue happen.
Check if it is a performance issue, you can test to login the same Lync account with two users, make call concurrently. If it works work, it may be a performance issue.
The best way is to create more account and assign to these users.

  • How to set multiple senders for one account

    Hi all,
I have a BIS account with my provider and a paid gmail account which collect for me mails from different address. Is it possible to set multiple senders for this account, thus it seems that I'm replying from one of these address and not only from my google address? In fact, it's important for me also that all mails come out from the same SMTP server (google).
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Pierluigi

For the BlackBerry to "send using" a specific email account, it must be set up on your BIS account as an email account, otherwise, you can send from that account.
You can do that, and then block ALL incoming emails from those accounts, and allow only incoming mail from your one Gmail account, if you desire.
