Multiple Mac support for rendering

I heard that i can set up Final Cut X so that i can use multiple platforms for rendering or exporting, but i can't seem to find out how to do this. Can someone point me to where i can find out info on doing this.

E4200 v2 - Uses multiple MAC addresses for the same device

This unit seems pretty good at first but on looking at the Web interface I noticed that it was using multiple mac addresses for the same device and showing devices on the lan on the Wireless side and other odd things.
After a week of running it the home server network started to get erratic, it would seem to all point to dns and dhcp issues in the router.
Seems the V1 had the same issues that they did not fix on this.
The Cisco connect software shows 5 devices the Web based utility shows 3??.
Its pretty bad that they charge nearly $200 and cannot be bothered to finish the unit or address the issues that were in V1.

I am afraid I didn't get the clear picture of the issue mentioned in the post. Could you please elaborate a little bit? If you connect a device/computer wired and then later you connect it wirelessly. It is obvious that you would get to see two different MAC addresses for the same device, one for the LAN adaptor and other one for WLAN adaptor. If that is what you are referring to?
Secondly, may I know, what issues did you face with DNS and DHCP in the router? Is it not able to resolve the DNS or something else or DHCP is not sending IP address to the clients?

Multiple query support for BICS

Well a couple of more questions are still unanswered:
1 - "Is EHP4 a mandate for having Ehp1 on SAP NW BW? If we just install Ehp1 on BW side without upgrading the ERP, will there be any issues? We want the EHP1 only for leveraging the BW-BO integration features and are not looking at any additional functionality from the source system. However we would like to know if upgrading BW with EHP1 WITHOUT upgrading the current ECC to EHP4 has any adverse effect (known-documented) on the current BI/ECC systems?
2 - Do we have Universes supporting multiple queries in coming releases? If yes then from which release onwards?
Due to these a major decision is sitting on fence and we are not able to make any headway.
Need a clear answer for this as well.

Digital Editions for Mac Support for Sony eReaders

With Sony releasing the eBook Library 3.0 Software for Mac and PC today and, therein, providing an official Sony eReader driver for Mac (sony_prs kernel extension found in the 3.0 software installer), will Adobe be able to provide support for the Sony eReaders in a future version of Adobe Digital Editions for Mac? As far as I understood, the limitation on the Mac version stemmed from the fact that Sony itself did not officially support the Mac but with that now in the past when can we expect to see this support added in Adobe Digital Editions for Mac? Thank you!

Mac support for zen mi

i'm planning on buying an ibook/macbook soon...
and apparently there's no support for mac with regards to zen micro (or any player for that matter)
so might need to change to an ipod soon if there is no update for support of macOS.
don't want to use bootcamp too.

Yeah, there's an unofficial but working program that is comptabible with Creative players. It is called XNJB and has been confirmed to work on macs (specifically with zen micro and Vision:M). Here's the link:

Is it possible to have English, Simplified Chinese and Hebrew on the same E71?

i downloaded the program but cannot install as it says certifcate error
i have installed simialr program for nokia 9300i which iw as using before
now with the world shrinking and memory capacities increasing all the time and people like me who travel so often nokia and ther manufatcurers should provide multi langauge support
please help us to install the support as it is really tough to travel if you cannnot read local language message showing address and other informaiton

Multiple IdP support for HCP Portal

Hi all,
I'm having lots of fun developing on the HCP and really love it!
Now I need to integrate multiple IdPs for the same account.
I know this can be specified using the url structure:
https://<app name>.hana.ondemand.com/index.jsp?saml2idp=<idp name>
I also plan to use the HCP Portal, so my question would be:
Can I use the url parameter above (saml2idp) also for HCP Portal?

Poor Mac support for N95

It is sad that we cannot install software on the N95 on the Mac. This lack of support will push many Nokia users over to the iPhone.

wait. what's the problem?? no no no! why would you even want that??
on windows you want/need to push install apps using PC Suite because there is no decent built-in method to install the app natively.
on the mac you simple transfer the installer to the phone - just like installing software on your mac itself (or on a pc, linux box, etc) all you need is to transfer the installer to the computer you want it installed on. and the mac already does this - nokia has no need to write a cumbersome, tired clone of an old technology (installing in the PC Suite manner dates back to the original Palm Pilot with 8MHz processors and kilobytes of memory).
here is how to install software on tou nokia from a mac:
1. download the app you want to install
2. in Finder, select the downloaded file
3. in the menu bar, click Finder -> Service -> Send to Bluetooth Device...
4. select your nokia from teh list of paired devices
5. click send
6. on your nok, the file looks like an incoming text message. click to open it just like you'd click to open any text message
7. when the installer asks, "Install xxx?" answer YES
8. enjoy the fact that you installed your app without any additional kruft required in your computer, and that nokia didn't pollute your hard-drive needlessly just because it's the norm on other platforms.
alternatively, you could fire up Bluetooth File Exchange (on the mac) and browse the contents of you nokia, including the microsd card. i created a folder on my microsd called 'installers' and i put all my app installers on there. this way i can choose to re/un-install apps from my phone whenever i want, without ever having to touch a computer. after all, my nokia is a MULTIMEDIA COMPUTER, why would i want to be tied down to using another computer just to get software to this one?

ACE multiple mac-address for a single IP (solaris ipmp)

We are triing to load ballance smtp traffic to solaris mail servers that are using ip multipath in bridge mode configuration.Multipath is configured so that only one of the redundant interfaces replies to arp request. Therefore all of the traffic come to the solaris from the ACE on the primary interface, but solaris uses the secondary interface too with different mac address to answer.The load ballancing working correctly it does not matter if solaris answers the request with its primary (MAC known by ACE) or secondary interface (MAC not know by ACE). But if the solaris wants to create a tcp session that is not balanced but go through the ACE with secondary interface which mac-address is not know by ARP in the ACE, the packets are silently discarded. There is no logs about it.
Please if someone could know this behavior answer.

If you do a 'show np 1 me-stat '-socm'' you will see a counter catching the packet drops.
Drop [mac lookup fail]: 30 0
Drop [route lookup fail]: 14316 0
We can't setup connection for unknown mac-address or if we do not have a route.
We need to first learn the mac-address through the arp request/response mechanism.
This is during this process that the encap id is associated with the mac-address.
Without that encapid we can't create the connection to flow the traffic.
You can try to disable normalization to see if that could help, but I can't guarantee it.

What Multiple GPU Support??

I just purchased a very pricey Mac Pro for my company, with the intention of utilizing it's dual GPUs & processing power for fast turnaround times on video projects. Turning on GPU acceleration in Premiere, however, essentially renders this machine useless. I can use Premiere (GPU acceleration on) with a single monitor, but as soon as I hook up a 2nd, I have no playback anywhere. No video signal from the program feed or the preview window. My question is, why has Adobe not provided multiple GPU support for a graphics card that currently ships in brand new Macs (ATI Radeon HD5770)? Side note, there are no driver updates for this GPU on the AMD website either. This is very frustrating and disappointing. Next logical question: How quickly will Adobe respond to this screw up?

NB520 - Multiple monitor support

Do NB520 have multiple monitor support built in, if not, how can I have multiple monitor support for my NB520? I need for using a Pewerpoint 2007 (to display presenter view differs from audience view).

Hi smit_Aood,
The NB520 supports one external monitor and you can use internal + external monitor at the same time (two monitors are supported). Furthermore you can choose if you want to extend the desktop on second monitor or clone it.
Using FN+F5 key combination you can switch between different modes.
Last but not least you can also use a Beamer or TV as second monitor. A certain computer monitor is not required. ;)

Multiple language support help

I have a large application with more than several hundred sub VIs. Now, we want to modify it to provide multiple language support, for example, Chinese or French. I have searched the forum and have some clue, but still cannot fit our needs.
1. from NI site, one method is to export string and import string. But for several hundred sub VIs, do I need to to this several hundred times for each VI? since in our application, some strings are hardcoded.
2. using excel sheet, everytime read excel file and modify the contorl properities. I am not sure how this works in details.
Any advice or suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks.

Using external NAS drive for Time Machine and multiple Macs

I just installed an external NAS drive from OWC's sister company Newer Tech. It is 500g with ethernet and usb2.0 connections. It works very well with easy setup with Time Machine with no hassle.
However, in very fine print that I missed in the ad, it supports 20 computers but not for Mac only for PC. OWC customer service said I could return it but I'll keep it anyway since it works well but only for one computer at a time in read/write mode.
Anyone know of a way around this? Are there any drivers from other vendors that would allow this to be used with the multiple Macs on my home network?

Very doubtful, but even if there is a workaround, you do not want to take that kind of risk with your backups.

Support for multiple libraries...?

Hi, I have a question as how is the best way to manage y music libraries given my usage scenario.
First let me set the context of what I have. I have over 35GB of ripped music, that resides in an external drive. Currently this music is available through my iTunes application, but it is NOT part of my lybrary (meaning I imported but did NOT copy it into the library). I do NOT want to have 35GB of music in my notebook's HD.
My iTunes library is in my local HD (music folder). This is a small file that basically has the 'podcasts' and the 'artwork'.
What do I want? I would love to keep all my music and videos on the external drive, and have my podcasts in my local HD. This way when I am on the road, I can update the podcasts, without having to carry with me all my music.
This all works fine the way I have it now, except that every time I rip a new CD or buy music from the iTunes Store, they go to my local HD and not my external drive.
Any ideas on how to work this out? I would love support for multiple libraries, but I don't thnks it's possible as far as I looked into it.

Set the 'iTunes Music folder location' (Preferences>Advanced>General) to the music folder on your external.
The next time you rip a CD or purchase music, it will be stored there.
Note: the 'iTunes Music folder location' is not the folder where your music is, but the location where iTunes stores imported music (and added music when 'Copy files to.....' is checked)
If you ran iTunes once with your external drive not attached/mounted, this location is reset to the internal drive.
iTunes 7 has support for multiple libraries. Press and hold the Option-key on launching iTunes until a window pops up which asks you to choose a library or create a new one.
Libra and iTunes Library Manager both work with iTunes 7 and older versions. They also save the preferences for every library you created.

After Effects CS5-best settings for rendering many large files after multiple passes with the clone

I have a moderate level Quad core PC,specs below, with 24Gb of RAM.
I am processing sequences of timelapse photos brought in from Adobe RAW as either a raw sequence at the original 5K res (Canon 5D2) or as 4K 16bit TIFFs. There are typically between 400-500 shots in each sequence.
I use clone brush in AE CS5 to remove 'stray objects' such as birds, people or vehicles from frames.
I can succesfully process these if I only have to clone out the odd object from a sequence, but occasionally I require to remove something on multiple frames. This might be a car that drove into shot and stayed for say 200 frames before driving away again.
The clone tool lets me paint out the arrival and then the parked vehicle by successively using the previous frame as the source. However at some point, even with say 16-20 Gb set as the AE memory, the program will get choked and start to crawl. This knocks on to the final render, when I will get outragous times for rendering even single frames, say 3 hours per frame etc.
I assume that AE is having to go back through many multiple source frames as the cloning that I have done is continually using the previous 'already cleaned up frame' as the source.So frame 150 is using frame 149, which used frame 148 etc.
Observing the Resource Monitor as AE renders, I see not much Processor usage, tyically 20-30% but maxed out Memory. Lots of reading of files off disk, usually apparently 'random' Windows system files, but also lots or reads from the timelapse source files as well.
I did get single render times down to 1 hour but then did more tweaking and haven't got back to anything better than 2.5 hours per frame since!
Is there a better way of achieving what I want?
My PC specs and set up: HP xw8600 with x5450 Quad core processor.
24 Gb RAM set usually as 16 Gb for AE (3 cores) and 1 core with max 3Gb for other progs. Sometimes I have set this to up to 20Gb fror AE.
Running Vista Business (yes I know Win7 would be better-but hey it's yet more money!).
Nvidia GTX460 1Gb memory with Cuda 'hack'-which works well with PP CS5.
Windows Page File set to about 20% more than Windows usually sets it to, on either separate SATA drive or dual with the Windows C drive.
Source files on external USB 3 drive (pretty fast).
AE render files on RAID 0 internal 7200 drive.
AE output files to another external USB3 drive.
Any suggestions for improving my set up would be appreciated, as I'm getting old watching AE render my projects!

Don't use AE? Just kidding, but your own analysis very much covers the facts already. Yes, it's AE going back and forth in time and yes, it's the holding of those frames in memory which is chewing up your memory. Depending on the situation you may look into patching up your disturbances with masked still images rather than cloning across the sequence, but beyond that I don't see much potential to make things more efficient. It's just AE trying to be über-smart with caching and then making a mess. The only other thing is the RAW import, which may consume unnecessary memory. Batching the files in Photoshop and only using PSDs or TIFFs in AE may squeeze out an extra GB of RAM. On that note also consider doing the cleanup in PS. After all, PS Extended does support video/ image sequences to some degree...
