Multiple markers in Inventory management

Dear genuins
Is it possible to set multiple markers in the Inventory management in BW system? I mean, markers are set on 1st every month, so that for example: we set marker on 2007-07-01,2007-08-01, when calculate the stock for 2007-07-20, system will get the latest marker 2007-07-01, when calculate the stock for 2007-08-05, system will get marker on 2007-08-01.
Is there a way to do this?

our senario is, we load goods movement data from flat file everyday. Since there may be minor error in some file data, to reduce the report error to the maximum degree, we want to know if it's possible to have multiple markers.

  • Inventory Management: Valuated Stock Value

    Hello Experts -
We're using inventory management. We're just bringing in 2lis_03_bf which is the material movements and the standard price datasource.
The plant valuated stock quantity and the valuated stock value are fine. The SLOC valuated stock quantity is fine. We're using the non-cumulative key figures for the valuated stock quantity and the valuated stock value. The SLOC valuated stock value isn't correct. So I just created a calculated key figure where I'm multiplying the quantity with the standard price.
This works fine but when I look at the plant level and use this CKF, the aggregation threw me off. So I changed the aggregation on CKF at the Bex level.
This works fine in dev and qa where I don't have too much of data. But as soon as I'm in in production, the query times out and gives me an error saying I reached the buffer limit.
I was thinking of calculating the valuated stock value at the ETL layer but now I'm thinking that if I do that and the price of a material changes, I'll again have the same problem. I can't re-load every time a material price changes.
Can someone please help me with this scenario?
    Thanks!

do not offer points, it is against the rules

    Hi Syed,
Deriving values by multipling with price also not correct. results will not match with R/3.
    Value Calculation
In principle, values are updated with Plant, Material, and Stock Category only. Quantities are updated with these characteristics, as well as with Storage Location, Batch Number, and Stock Characteristic
Check SAP Note 589024: Evaluations in BW with the Characteristics Storage Location and Stck Char.).
    Hope it Helps

  • About archiving BW Inventory Management cubes

    Hi everyone!
I would like to know what a marker in Inventory Management (BW) is. This question comes from the following: I need to archive a IM cube, and it presents the following option:
    Stocks:
    Only transactions
    Transactions and Markers
I don't know what a marker is, so I'm kinda lost here...
Any help would be greatly appreciated (and rewarded, ofc!).
    Best Regards,
    Luís.

    Hi,
Marker is fairly simple, you will get the details also on help.sap.com with more detailed explanation.
In a brief here is what i can tell you :
    1. The marker is set on a specific date and the value of the inventory KF( NON CUMULATIVE KF) the value on that particular date is stored in the cube.
    2. Since Inventory is working on the non cumulative method the difference is calculated since DAY 1. but with Marker the difference is calculated from the day of marker.
Hence it helps in retrieving faster results.
Let me know if you want more information.

    Den

  • Inventory management - MSCA

    Hi Experts,
We are using Inventory management on MSCA mobile apllication using by Motorola MC75A6 ,Now  we are feel Very slow in the device,Any other device better than this device,Kindly advice me...
    Thanks and regards,
    Kumar

    Hi,
Your requirement is not clear or could be wrong. You didn't mention the mobile page where you want this to be achieved. Also usually items in inventory will reside in multiple locators or subinventories. In that case which sub and loc you want to get defaulted ? what is the criteria that decides it ?

  • Inventory Management (0IC_C03) cube

When I carry out delta loads to the Inventory Management (0IC_C03) InfoCube do I need to compress these delta loads with No Marker Update? Thanks

    hi Nitish,
    1. Compressing the request containing the opening stock that was just uploaded. Make
sure the "No marker update" indicator is not set. Please consider note very carefully
643687 before you carry out the compression of requests in stock InfoCubes!
    2. Loading the historical movements into the InfoCube 0IC_C03 via the DataSource /
InfoSource 2LIS_03_BF. Choose the upload mode "Initializing the delta process"
    here.
    3. After successfully uploading the historical material movements, the associated
request has to be compressed. You must make sure the "No marker update"
indicator is set. This is necessary because the historical material movements are
already contained in the opening stock. We’ll look more closely at markers later on.

  • Inventory Management Extractors via DSO to Cube 0IC_C03

    Dear experts,
to fulfill the requirements of DataWarehouse spirit using Entry-, Harmonization- and Reporting-Layer I want to use for Inventory Management a Data Flow from extractors 2LIS_03_BX, 2LIS_03_BF and 2LIS_03_UM via DSO/DSOs and later on to Cube 0IC_C03.
In this forum there are some opened threads about this issue, but none has been resolved! Many hints are about the "How to Inventory Management..." - some other say: "You can use DSO's!" - others say: "Don't use DSOs!". So: Where is the truth? Is there anybody who can provide a really praticable way to implement the above mentioned data flow?
I'm so excited about your suggestions and answers.
    Thanks in advance and regards
    Patrick
--> Data Flow has to be in BW 7.0

    Hi Patrick,
    Yes indeed there is.
Using DSOs in inventory flow is absolutely possible. Here's what you need to know and do:
1 - Firstly don't be apprehensive about it. Knowledge is power! We know that inventory uses ABR delta update methodology and that is supported by DSOs so no doubt abt it.
2 - Secondly Inventory is special because of non-cumulative and several rule group at cube level for BX and BF.
3 - Now as you want to use a DSO and I am presuming that this will be used for staging purpose, use a write optimized DSO as the first layer. While mapping from DS to this DSO, keep one to one mapping from field to Info-objects.
4- Keep in mind that from Infosource to 0IC_C03 there would be multiple rule groups present in transformations.
These rule groups will have different KPIs mapped with routines. The purpose is that from ECC only 1 field for quantity (BWMNG) and one field for value (BWGEO) is coming but from Infosource to 0IC_C03 the same fields in different rule groups are mapped to different KPIs (Stock in transit, vendor consignment, valuated stock etc) based on stock category, stock type and BW transaction keys.
5- So create a write optimized DSO. map it one to one from datasource fields. create/copy transformations from this DSO to cube maintaining the same rule groups and same logic.
6- you can also use standard DSO and create rule groups and logic at DSO level and then do one to one from DSO to Cube.
Keep in mind that these rule groups and logic in them should be precisely the same as in standard flow.
    This should work.

  • ATE does not display SAP Inventory Manager 4.0 screens properly

We're implementing SAP Inventory Manager 4.0 running on SMP 3.0 SP3 PL3. Testing the application in Agentry Test Environment is not possible as screens do not get rendered properly regardless of the platform selected. We've tried with multiple versions of ATE from SMP 3.0 SDK SP1 through SP4. None of those works. Because no buttons are rendered there is no way to interact with the app in ATE.
Could some prerequisites be missing? We've tried on a Windows 7 machine as well as the SMP server itself (Win Server 2008) getting the same exact results.

    Lukasz,
Win32 screens were removed from the newest IM release because the WPF uses Tablet (iPad) screens.  You can test in the ATE using the PPC screens by making a change to your screensets.ini file that sits in your application directory.  We use this trick in product development to test using ATE:
Change your Win32 section in screensets.ini to be as follows:
    [Win32]
    1=PPC
After bouncing the server, using the above will allow you to debug the PPC screens.  We do this for all our testing.

  • The interface connecting Lean-WM and inventory management

    Dear experts!
    Thank you for your attention!
I am confused at the interface connecting Lean-WM and inventory management.
there are so many concepts in this field, such storage location, picking areas, storage types and so on.
Could you please give me an real case or a illustration to discribe that how the interface connecting Lean-WM and inventory management works?
    Best regard!
    Tangdark

you do nto need to enter serial numbers while clearing inventory at WM level but at IM in case you have the serial profile activated then you need to enter serial numbers when clearing inventory from the IM level.
according to what you have said it should automatically pop up a screen where you need o enter the serial numbers but this is weird it is not doing.
    Please check the following:-
Does the serial number profile config in OIS2 have "MMSL" as a property and if so is entry of serial numbers mandatory during goods receipt and issue ad if there is a stock check active

  • Will MIM (Merchandize and inventory management) work with SAP AFS / SAP POS

We are implementing SAP AFS ERP at the head office and SAP POS at the retail stores.
We want to implement the MIM module for inventory management at retail store level. Does MIM work in conjunction with SAP AFS. A consultant was suggesting that MIM works only with SAP Retail and no other vertical SAP solution.
    Can someone please clarify?
    Regards
    paddy

MIM is linked to IS Retail, not to AFS.
Nevertheless, you can always link and AFS and a Retail system.  SAP provides a very convincing ALE scheme for this.

  • Analysis Process Designer and Inventory Management

In the How to guide for Inventory Management it mentions that you can you can intialise stock in the Snap shot Cube using the Analysis Process Designer (APD).  Has anyone done this and if so can you explain how or outline some steps? Thanks

    Hallo,
the APD does`nt be a useful tool for modeling a performant
data flow. A lot of SAP BW user think so.
The performance problems are given by the ddic intern table, using to uploading the extracted data into the apd used wa_table and structures.
To have the best performance on your scenario, please use the following scenario as possible.
    Step 1.
upload the extracted data from the psa into a data layer
there you can reduce and harmonize the data by using a transactional ods
    Step 2.
build a infoset that joins the data
    Step 3.
build one query to reducing data and make two copies of ist
    Step 4.
build a useful data mining model
    Step 5.
upload the results of the data mining model into a transactional ods
    Step 6.
link the uploaded data into a infoset ore write back into a standard ods
    Step 7.
    query the data
If you use this scenario you have a lot of benefits. Better performance, better quality of persistent data and actual and traininged data.
The recommend next step (if you want a alerting) is to build a reporting agent report - if you have usefull processes in  the query.
There are a workshop for Data mining and APD, named BW380.
    I hope I helped you.
    Otherwise give me a message.
