Multiple Master Font (NeuvaMM-395wt 750wd) changes to
NeuvaMM-330RG 475NO when converting to Paths or importing to PDF or
EPS files while in Macromedia Freehand MX 11.0.2. I use 10.4.9 on a
G5. Does anyone else have this problem. I could use some help

I use Freehand MX on my Mac mini and find that it runs as well as on my PowerBook 1.25GHz so you should find a good improvement over your G4 tower.

There are various ways to concatenate the values. One nice generic solution is to use Tom Kyte's stragg function:

If p_consolidation_set_id is a variable name, not a value, then do not put quotes around it.

Aperture Facebook Uploader: Both Master and Version

I've searched the forums and see that others had this problem fixed with 3.1.1; but I'm running 3.1.2 and if I edit, crop and otherwise enhance and make a new version and make that version the stack pick, the uploader insists on uploading both (or multiple) master and versions to Facebook. I have to de-stack the images and delete from facebook, and this then reflects in my project/album.
What the heck? I should be able to upload one version. And if I choose to delete and unstack, why does it reflect in the master database?

I don't think Facebook is retaining all the Metadata from images uploaded by any means. However, it's definitely retaining the Version Name - And this is what serves as the caption for the photo in the photo album on Facebook.
Since updating Aperture to 3.1.1, I no longer get the entire 'stack' or multiple versions of the image uploaded. So the software update for Aperture HAS fixed this issue.
However, I have now noticed another issue since starting to use the Aperture uploader. I have about 10 albums/galleries on Facebook. All of these were created prior to the Aperture 3.0 release with the integrated Facebook uploader.
Now when I upload an image and subsequently Aperture accesses my Facebook photo albums, it begins to sync these photos and albums. The Facebook directory that you can see at the bottom of the Library now lists those albums that exist on Facebook and begins to sync those photos. However, when I browse photos by 'date' all those Facebook photos from those albums appear in my Library with the date listed as the date I first viewed them.
So if I click on one of the Facebook albums in Aperture, let Aperture go through its sync process, then review library "photos" and sort by date, all the Facebook photos I have looked at appear as the most current photos.
this is not a good thing because I have Albums, Projects etc. that are sync'd with iPhone or Apple TV that include date filters (projects in last month, photos last week etc.) Now all these legacy Facebook photos are appearing on these other devices.

Delete Versions/Delete Master and All Versions w/ Multiple Images Selected

When I select multiple images from a project (one image has a thicker white line around it and the other selected images have a thinner white line) and then select Delete Master and All Version the ONLY image that gets deleted is the one with the thicker white line. Whereas if I were to choose Delete Version all of the images are deleted?
Am I not able to perform Delete Master and All Versions on multiple files? It is not working for me.

For video, the codec is MPEG-4 Video (XVID) and for audio it says MPEG Audio Layer 1/2/3 (mpga).
There are two issues with that file:
The first is the Xvid CODEC (not meant for editing), and then the MPEG Audio/MPGA. I would convert that file, to something that is more editable.

As the cronos MM(Multiple Master) is discontinued by Adobe and there is only pro version on sale .If i can purchase mm version through adobe ? or If it is free for us to use ,no matter for commercial or uncommercial use?

We have a branding project for a college. we decided to use the cronos MM font as our major font .i searched from internet that there is only cornos pro on sale .but what we want is cornos MM,all the message that i got from the internet is that the Cronos MM is free for download. Addressing the first of your questions, no, Adobe no longer licenses any of its type library in Multiple Master format. Although Type 1 Multiple Master technology was a very promising technology over 20 years ago, it was never particularly popular with our customers nor was it supported well or at all by other applications and operating systems. Thus, that format was discontinued. Some Adobe applications continue to support Multiple Master technology, but the ability to create and use custom instances of such fonts is not available.
When Adobe re-released its type library in OpenType CFF format, for all the previous Multiple Master typeface families, all the predefined instances of the Multiple Master fonts were issued as individual typefaces. Since very few users ever used custom instances, this had minimal effect.
Thus, if you are interested in the Cronos type family, the Cronos Pro OpenType CFF fonts should meet your needs, especially since it supports many more typographical features than the original Multiple Master version. Is there anything that you think is missing from Cronos Pro?
With regards to your second question with regards to Cronos MM being free to download, just because you found something on the internet doesn't mean that it is true. Adobe has never released Cronos MM as a “free to download” product. If anyone is posting copies of the old Cronos MM fonts for “free download,” they are doing so illegally.

Multiple errors with DSC modules modbus master and slave

Hi,
I've searched quite a lot of posts but haven't found solution for my problem. I'm playing with LabVIEW DSC module and it's modbus master and slave functionalities. Even the LabVIEWs own modbus examples (Modbus Simulator and Fundamentals) seem to work randomly or not at all: When checking the Variable Manager utility Modbus Simulator (i.e. modbus slave/server) seems to deploy variables correctly with good quality but Modbus Fundamentals (i.e. modbus master/client) most often shows unknown value or bad quality for all the variables. When running the VIs I get 'Error -1950679035 Unable to locate variable in the Shared Variable Engine' and sometimes some other errors too. If the Modbus Simulator (slave/server) is expected to work fine I guess I should get two slaves communicating, but this isn't happening either. So maybe Modbus Simulator example isn't working either.
I've tried undeploying and deploying the libraries, stopping and starting the SVE, booting PC, reinstalling DSC module, and setting firewall and antivirus software off. This problem is going on with two different computers, both of which have recently installed LabVIEW 2011, first PC with Win XP and second PC with Win 7. No other OPC servers should be installed to these computers. And what is really interesting, the problem seems to have nothing to do with my network since Simulator and Fundamentals examples are not working even if the network cable is unplugged!
Any suggestions? Replies are highly appreciated!

V8 has the same feature, but the words are different.
The Generator typically uses the Driver time base, and the Gl. Var Write is writing once per block.
So, to see all values, you must have a block size of one.
I set up the Driver timebase to 10 Hz, block size of 1. The Generator and the Read Variable default to the Driver timebase.
The Generator is making a 2 Hz Rectangle waveform. YOu can see that it's shifted, but otherwise intact.

FAQ: Multiple master fonts on OS X

(This notice has been updated repeatedly to discuss: OS X 10.2, Adobe app bugs with 10.2 support, "cocoa" applications; Adobe phasing out MM font sales; Adobe discontinuing tech support for MM fonts. Last update: 23 Sep 2005.)
With versions 10.0 and 10.1, Mac OS X's native support for Type 1 and OpenType initially failed to include support for multiple master Type 1 fonts. This problem is fixed in OS X version 10.2 and later for applications using the "carbon" APIs, but not for applications using "cocoa" APIs. The two most common "cocoa" applications are TextEdit and Keynote.
Note that applications running in "Classic" mode are unaffected. They still need ATM for supporting Type 1 fonts, including multiple master fonts.
There is a workaround for some Adobe applications, such as InDesign 2, Illustrator 10 and Photoshop 7. You can rely on the native font imaging support in these applications, which is largely independent of the OS. Just put the fonts in the the Fonts folder in the application's folder, or the Application Support/Adobe/Fonts folder.
Additionally, the above-mentioned Adobe applications may have problems accessing all multiple master instances, when accessing the MM fonts which are installed at the system level, even in Mac OS X 10.2 and later. In some cases, this may be worked around by installing the fonts in the application's own fonts folder or the Application Support folder as described above.
PHASING OUT MULTIPLE MASTER FONTS
Adobe stopped making new MM and Type 1 fonts in 1999, and there is no equivalent to MM in the newer OpenType format. From late 2002 to mid 2003, Adobe phased out sales of multiple master fonts. As of this writing, they can only be bought from Adobe as part of Font Folio 9, which is still available for people who need compatibility with older fonts. The current version of Font Folio is Font Folio OpenType Edition, which shipped in August 2003.
At the end of 2004, Adobe stopped offering tech support for MM fonts, excepting for people with Font folio 9.

This inquiry is addressed to Thomas Phinney or any other font-savvy technician at Adobe. It relates to the very latest versions of the Mac OS (v.10.2.2) and Adobe Design applications (InDesign 2.0.1, Illustrator 10.0.3, Photoshop 7.0.1). It is about the use of Adobe's Multiple Master fonts. I was a big subscriber to the MM technology and have virtually all of the MM fonts Adobe issued. I have used them extensively in designs for the past four or five years. Now they have become problematic at best and Adobe has done precious little to keep MM fans informed regarding how to deal with the situation.
I have read every entry in this discussion thread and I still am unclear about where to install MM fonts and what the consequences might be. Furthermore, it took an hour of searching to find this thread. I am very disappointed in Adobe for not providing guidance on this issue in some very obvious, prominent place on their Web site.
As nearly as I can figure, the best place for MM fonts is in the Library>Application Support>Adobe>Fonts folder. Is this correct? And if it is, doesn't this mean that MM fonts will only be available to Adobe apps and therefore not be available to Xpress or Freehand or any other non-Adobe app?
And then I read that some MM instances still may not be available in Adobe apps and that "in some cases" this may be worked around by installing them in the applicaiton-specific fonts folder. Can they be installed in both locations at once? I don't think so. So do I now have to move MM fonts from folder to folder to insure performance? And what if I am working in all 3 Adobe apps at once (not at all uncommon)? What then?
Although this is the best advice I have been able to find so far and I thank you for it, it is still very "if-y." And very hard to come by. Adobe's behavior here is rather like the newspaper that makes a serious error on the front page and then prints an apology a week later on the bottom of an inside column on page 24 (or some other deep left-hand page), in 6 point type!!
The clear (although unstated) implication of this advice is that I should not expect font management programs (Suitcase, Font Reserve nor FontAgent Pro) to handle MM fonts. Is this correct? If it is, please state it clearly. This, of course means that MM fonts must always be active and will only appear in the font menus of Adobe applications (don't try to use them in Freehand or Xpress, let alone MS Word.) Does it not? And yet, most of my work is still done in Xpress, because most of my printers still aren't accepting InDesign files (most do not even have the app installed; hell, most are still running OS 9.)
Frankly, when I think of all the time and money that Adobe spent promoting the MM technology and all the money I (and many others) spent on MM fonts, I cannot help but feel betrayed by Adobe. Not for abandoning the technology (which I can accept as a matter settled in the marketplace), but for leaving high-and-dry we designers that bought into the technology and are now finding that not only does the new Mac OS have trouble with MM technology, but the Adobe design applicaitons for which it was intended also have trouble with it! What are we expected to do??? Will Adobe be issuing free postscript or OpenType versons of their MM fonts? No way! Or does Adobe expect us to convert all of our MM fonts to post script using a conversion utility (like TransType)? Yes, I rather suspect this is the route they would have us take.
Please do not reply to this inquiry (except to praise it, of course) unless you can speak for Adobe on the matter. Thank you.

ADF BC - One Master and Two Detail pages How To?

I have an existing ADF BC .jspx master-detail page that works fine. It shows one product as the master (read-only; no navigation controls) and assocatied customer feedback as the detail (multiple records; read-only.) Now I also want to compute some averages from the same table used to create the detail view object. I have created a second view object because this requires a separate query that calculates aggregate values. I want to take advantage of using view links so that this 2nd view object is automatically linked to the master record via the primary key.
My question is how can I link this into the existing master-detail data control so that I can drag/drop it to include id on the existing .jspx page and the primary key linkages will be handled automatically?

Thanks for the reply. The existing customer feedback view object displays the customer's text feedback (testimonials) - these will be displayed in a read-only table with multiple records.
The new view object aggregates the ratings score from the customer feedback (same FEEDBACK database table) and will use a form to display the results (not multiple rows.) The PK is included in the aggregate view object query.
Note there is already an existing viewlink between the PK (Master) and FK (Feedback) - in the data control, this viewlink is an instance of the Master View Object and the Customer Feedback View object. Now that I have created a third view object, should I create another View Link between the Master View Object and the Customer Feedback AVERAGES View Object? If I do this, how do I include it in the existing .jspx page? If I add this new View Link to the Application Module I will have two different Data Controls:
Data Control #1: Master (Product) View Object + Customer Feedback View Object #1 (implemented as a master-detail read-only form/table on a .jspx page)
Data Control #2: Master (Product) View Object + Customer Feedback AVG View Object #2
I'm confused as to how to integrate the second customer feedback view object into the existing Data Control / Master-Detail read-only form/table on my .jspx page?

How to share itunes library with multiple users, and keep organised

Hi,
I'm using iTunes (v12) on Windows 7 and am trying to set myself up so that multiple users on this PC are sharing the same library. I've followed the guidance mentioned on a couple of other threads, and put the library in the Users\Public\Music location, and on each user account have pointed iTunes to this location. This has worked OK, as both users can see all the music.
However, problems arise when User A deletes a couple of files (duplicates for example) - User B logs in, and the song is still listed in the library, but with an alert stating the original file cannot be located. They then have to go through the library and also delete these entries. Equally, if User B adds some music files (as opposed to iTunes downloads), they are not visible to User A until they "Add file to library..."
Are there any further steps that I can take to keep both users views of the library identical, without manual intervention by the second user whenever the first makes a change?

The way you've set it up each user has a distinct library, but is accessing a common set of media files and folders. To accomplish what you want, you need to have a complete iTunes library (database + media) in a common location - typically this would be C:\Users\Public\Music\iTunes. See turingtest2's notes on Make a split library portable for the steps that may be needed to bring your library into a suitable structure. Based on your description, you'll need to select one user's library (C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl) to act as the shared "master" and move this to the Public folders.
Then, for each user, hold down SHIFT while starting iTunes - when you get this prompt:
click on Choose Library..., navigate to C:\Users\Public\Music\iTunes, select the iTunes Library.itl file you'll find there, and click Open (you'll only need to do this once for each user account).
Note, though, that iTunes is inherently a single-user application - any attempts to run iTunes at the same time will cause errors (and, in the worst case, possible corruption). For this reason, its a good idea to disable fast user switching in Windows so that only one user can be logged in, and running iTunes, at the same time.

Rearrange pages when printing adobe form with multiple master pages

Hello!
Good day to you all.
I have an issue in regards with printing my adobe form with multiple Master pages. I have 4 master pages:
1st master page: a
2nd master page: b
3rd master page: c
4th master page: d
all with different headers and footers all having the same contents (items). I don't have issue with one page content (it just prints 4 pages with different headers and footers). The issue comes out once the items exceed 1 page.
What happens is that the preview/print shows (example: 3-page item)
a1-a2-a3-b1-b2-b3-c1-c2-c3-d1-d2-d3.
What i need is to print these such that all 1st pages of the 4 master page to be printed first, then all the 2nd pages, then all 3rd pages. Please see below:
a1-b1-c1-d1-a2-b2-c2-d2-a3-b3-c3-d3
This is because we will be using carbonless copy paper during printing and it's possible that it would be printed on batch jobs. Please suggest ways to do this.

Can you have a Print button on this screen or you should be using the Abobe toolbar's Print button..?
Well if this on a click of a button in the form and the requirement is only at the time of print and not on print prieview I can have a JS script which does this...
Let me know if this suffice, I can try with a local file and send you the script.

Master and work repository grouping

Hi , what is the most efficient and industry standard model of grouping master and work respository.
. is it good to group master and related work for every technology like DB2 , SQl server etc ?
or
is it good to group master and related work repository depending on the project where we can have different technologies grouped in single work repository and multiple work repository for different technologies. ?
Please share with me with your company standard or views on my above question.

As far as I know it is not recommended solution to create both master and work repositories in one Oracle schema, better create them as separate schemas.

Master and Subprojects problems with Apps

Hi all,
What is going on with Master and Subprojects in an Online tenant with apps??
I will show some pictures about, cause Apps (no-one) is getting information about Master and Subprojects:

After I´ve installed an App with the scope of Project, to get the information of a single project, but I cannot select these two projects already named early:
Is there the expected behavior? Or Is it a bug?

Finally got a chance to test this out Miguel but haven't found any workaround. I can see behind the scenes we are looking just for PROJ_TYPE=0 when populating the list, and not type 5 (subprojects) or 6 (masters). I'm trying to find more info
internally on if this is a design choice or oversight. I can understand that master projects could give issues as this is specifically a single project permission check - but I can't think of any logic to exclude sub projects. The only workaround
I could think of would be to use the Multiple Project option and then select the project within the app. This would still be secure to just projects the user of the app has access to.
I'll let you know when I hear more.

Master and Detail records in the same table

Hi Steve,
I have master and detail address records in the same table (self-reference). The master addresses are used as templates for detail addresses. Master addresses do not have any masters. Detail addresses have three masters: a master address, a calendar reference and a department. Addresses change from time to time and every department has its own email-account, but they refer to the same master to pre-fill some common values.
Now I need to edit the master and detail address records on the same web page simultaneously.
My question is: Can I implement a Master-View and Detail-View which refer to the same Entity-Object? Or should I implement a second Entity-Object? Or can it be done in a single Master-Detail-View?

At a high level, wouldn't this be similar to an Emp entity based on the familiar EMP table that has an association from Emp to itself for the Emp.Mgr attribute?
You can definitely build a view object that references two entity usages of the same entity like this to show, say, an employee's ENAME and at the same time their manager's ENAME.
If there are multiple details for a given master, you can also do that with separate VO's both based on the same entity, sure. Again, just like a VO that shows a manager, and a view-linked VO of all the employees that report to him/her.

Dynamic form with multiple master pages

I have a 7 pg form that has different data in the footer area. I placed the footer info on it's own separate master page and set the page to the corresponding page numbers. I moved the content area above the footer section so my content can flow to the next page properly. But my problem is since I set the Pagination area to "Place: Top of Page "Page 2" and the rest accordingly, I'm getting an almost blank page with the data from the previous page and the next page pushes to a separate page of its own for every page. Not sure how to make the form flow continuous, this is my first time having to do a form this way. Typically I set the pages when I'm done to "Following Previous" instead of "Top of Next page" in the Pagination Place field for each section and everything works fine then. I've never had to deal with a different master page for each page in the form.
Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

If you have 7 pages with different footers, wouldn't it be easier to have the footer also part of the body page instead of Master page.
Unless you are adding dynamic content at runtime, you can keep the footer in the body page itself. That way you can avoid multiple master pages.
If you still have issues, you can share the form, so I can have a look at it.
