Multiple page Adobe form

Hi Experts,
It's the first time I've encountered Adobe forms in SAP ad I'm having problems with the following.
My form is for printing only, I have a created a subform (header) at the top of page1, then another subform containing a table with dynamic data, after this I have various other subforms.
My problem is concerning page breaks, when my table contains over 20 lines the following subforms should appear on the next page rather than continuing on page 1 until it runs out of space. At the minute it only prints what fits on the first page, everything else is lost.
This may be something simple but I haven't managed to find anything regarding this on the forum.

In the Pagination tab of my subform object the fields; 'Place' and 'After' are disabled, is there a reason for this? Is there something I have designed wrongly?

Current page printing problem - while repeating pages : Adobe forms

Hi Experts,
I have a problem in printing current page number of an adobe form.
My requirement is that , my form got 2 pages. On first page i am not printing page numbers and excluded from numbering.
Numbering starts from second page. The second page needs to be repeated twice.
In this case my page printing should look like :
First page - no page number
second page - 1 of 1
Third page - 1of 1 (as it is a copy)
IF second page extends to multiple pages (eg.. 2)
First page - No Page no
First instance of second page - 1of 2 , 2 of 2
Second instance of second page - 1 of 2 , 2 of 2 . Presently it is printing like : 3 of 2 , 4 of 2. I need to initialize current page count. I could able to set the total page count 2 via variable from print program. But while printing the second instance, I am not able to initialize the current page count.
I have seen the following thread which exactly talks about my problem but with out any solution.

I am not sure how your page design looks like.
Assumption:
During runtime, ONLY 1 page for Page1, multiple pages for Page2 and Page3, same number of pages for Page2 and Page3.
This is what i did:-
I have 3 pages:
Page1: With NO page number: ONLY 1 page
Page2: With page number: Multiple page
Drag the "Insert -> Custom -> Page n of m"
- TextField: "CurrentPage",
-- replace the original script: "this.rawValue = xfa.layout.page(this)" with "this.rawValue = xfa.layout.page(this) - 1"
- TextField: "PageCount",
-- replace the original script: "this.rawValue = xfa.layout.pageCount()" with "this.rawValue = ( xfa.layout.pageCount() - 1 ) / 2"
Page3: With page number: Multiple page
Drag the "Insert -> Custom -> Page n of m"
- TextField: "CurrentPage",
-- replace the original script: "this.rawValue = xfa.layout.page(this)" with "this.rawValue = xfa.layout.page(this) - 1 - ( xfa.layout.pageCount() - 1 ) / 2"

Line item data does not appear on all master pages - Adobe forms

Hi Guys,
I have a problem in Adobe forms as explained below-
I have a page in the form which has, you can say, a 2 windows or subforms ( Information window/subfirm on top right corner, main on middle of the page ). The data of the main subform is a line item data of delivery. Some parts of the same data need to be printed on the Information subform also. The main subform can overflow to next pages but the information window will have only very limited data to be printed on one page itself, meaning it does not overflow.
Now the requirement is that each line item should be printed on a new page. For example if there are 2 lines items then first line item should be printed on first page. Then there will be a conditional page break and the next line item will be printed on the next page ( I have achieved this using condition page break). The information window will contain information related to corresponding line items. If the first line item data overflows in main then information window of first line item should be printed on first and 2nd page. The second line item should start printing on 3rd page and information window of 3rd page will contain data of 2nd line item.
I created 1 body page and 1 master page. I created one internal table with data of main window and information window. I put the information window on master page to make it appear on all the pages.
This solution unfortunately does not work. The issue is that in case of overflow, 1st page information window shows first line item. 2nd pages shows 2nd line item and 3rd page is blank whereas ideally 1st and 2nd page information window should show first line item and 3rd page should show 2nd line item. This means that master page and body page are not getting linked. If I create the information window on body page itself, it does not repeat on all the pages. Please provide some inputs to resolve the issue.

Multiple page fillin forms?

I have a 7 page form with fillin fields on all pages. I went through each page and set the tab order on each page. How do I get the 7 pages to operate as one document? When I start on page one and fill in all the fields, it does not continue to page two? And instead of tabbing through the form fields and check boxes, it will tab to a label instead? The tab order keeps changing too?
Any help will be appreciated.

I have one PDF form that is a template. It is opened and and copies are saved, each with different data in the form fields. I now need to combine all those individual files into one multi-paged document that can be flipped through and edited.
Each form has about 100 different form fields, and there are 130 different files that I need to combine. This means I'd have to open and rename 13,000 form fields by hand. I'm trying to avoid this.
My hope was when a new page was added to the document, there'd be a setting to append each form field with a page number. (Name-page1...Name-page2...etc.) Looks like this is not possible.
Is there any way to propagate the same form field across multiple pages giving each field a unique name automatically?

Multiple-page Adobe pdf file and preserving editing capabilities problem

I can't click the preserve Illustrator editing capabilities when attempting to make a multipage pdf.
So when I create the multiple page pdf, and then open it in Ai CS3 any text boxes are changed to individual text lines.
Am I doing something wrong?
I am using Ai CS3 v13.0.2 on an Apple imac intel core 2 duo, with mac os X10.4.11

How do I tab across pages in a multiple-page PDF Form?

After a couple hours trying to resolve this and researching Adobe's site and the web, I've had no luck. Was hoping someone here could help.
I've created a multi-page form in Adobe Acrobat X for Mac - It started out as a one-page form, and I then added three additional blank pages one at a time, adding the fields as needed. There are no special fields or formatting.
The problem is that each page has its own tab order which starts numbered from 1 as the first field to "x" being the number for the last field. I can tab through the fields of the page fine, but when I get to the last field on the page, instead of "Tab" moving me to the first field of the next page, it jumps back to the FIRST field on the page I am on.
I wasn't sure if I should have just created the form as one long page or if that was even an option. I did it this way because this form will need to be printed on 8.5 x 11 paper once it's filled out.
Is there a way to adjust tabs to move to the next page after filling in the last field on a page rather than just have it go back to the beginning?
There has to be a way to do this, or perhaps another way it should have been done in the first place. As you know, Adobe isn't known for its intuitive products.

Got it to work. It returned a completely different path of course just to make life interesting and required a FN+OPTION ENTER in order to return the path. I now have the FLATTEN option in the edit menu.
Just trying it checking all the Flatten options except the fields seemed to work on the first pass. I'm going to try and load a copy of the original complete document. I assume that is the proper way to use this at this point since I created the form ***-backwards?
I've used Adobe layout programs since the Aldus days but Acrobat seems to work differently than any other program I've used.
If I understand what you're saying I should:
1. Design the layout of the form leaving spaces for the fields
2. Open Acrobat, import the document
3. Auto-add and correct, or manually add the fields
4. Fix tabbing
5. Add any additional comments or annotations
6. Flatten everything but the fields? (If the fields are flattened I can't fill out the form unless it's supposed to be a printed form only, right?)
Might just have to break down and RTFM. Acrobat is a really different animal.

Multiple Page flowed form with expandable field, causing a blank page

I have a 3 page form with an expandable field on page 1. I've set the pages up as flowable with positioned subforms and everything is working well, until you type a lot of info into the expandable field and it moves everything else in page 1 down to page 2, the problem appears after the text is moved, there is a huge blank space after the text that was moved. Basically the rest of the information is moved to page 3 and then there is a page 4. Hope this makes sense.
Original - Page 1, Page 2, Page 3
Expanded past the page - Page 1&2 (then big blank space), Page 3, Page 4
I'd just like the pages to flow together so if the expanded box moves to the next page the sections just continue to follow without a huge blank space on page 2.

It sounds as if some of your content is set to not allow page breaks within it. Have you checked all containing sub forms for the option below?

Without executing the generated Function Module, it is not possible to get the page count of a form in driver program because the generated FM itself is responsible to execute the whole layout and determine the number of pages in the PDF output. The below screenshot shows the number of pages in the structure /1BCDWB/FORMOUTPUT of generated FM after the generated FM is executed successfully.
I really don't know why you need the number of pages before calling the generated FM. But if you still need it, then you might need to call the whole FM cycle twice( FP_JOB_OPEN , Generated FM, and FP_JOB_CLOSE ).
1) First time while calling the FM FP_JOB_OPEN, you need to modify the contents of SFPOUTPUTPARAMS structure. Send the blank values in fields GETPDF, REQNEW and REQIMM, and send the "X" in fields NOPREVIEW, NOPRINT and NOARCHIVE and 000 in field COPIES.
The reason for doing this is, we do not want actual PDF output. We only want to determine the number of pages.
2) Now execute the generated FM . You will get the number of pages in the structure /1BCDWB/FORMOUTPUT-PAGES as shown in screenshot above.
3) Now call the FM FP_JOB_CLOSE as usual.
4) Again call the FM FP_JOB_OPEN. This time you again need to modify the contents of SFPOUTPUTPARAMS structure reversely. Send the "X" in fields GETPDF, REQNEW and REQIMM, and send the blank values in fields NOPREVIEW, NOPRINT and NOARCHIVE and 001 in field COPIES.
This time we need the actual PDF output.
5) Now do the required processing with previously fetched number of pages before calling the generated FM.
6) Now call the FM FP_JOB_CLOSE as usual.

Rearrange pages when printing adobe form with multiple master pages

Hello!
Good day to you all.
I have an issue in regards with printing my adobe form with multiple Master pages. I have 4 master pages:
1st master page: a
2nd master page: b
3rd master page: c
4th master page: d
all with different headers and footers all having the same contents (items). I don't have issue with one page content (it just prints 4 pages with different headers and footers). The issue comes out once the items exceed 1 page.
What happens is that the preview/print shows (example: 3-page item)
a1-a2-a3-b1-b2-b3-c1-c2-c3-d1-d2-d3.
What i need is to print these such that all 1st pages of the 4 master page to be printed first, then all the 2nd pages, then all 3rd pages. Please see below:
a1-b1-c1-d1-a2-b2-c2-d2-a3-b3-c3-d3
This is because we will be using carbonless copy paper during printing and it's possible that it would be printed on batch jobs. Please suggest ways to do this.

Is that requirement of multiple pages as groups only at the time of print or at print preview also...?
Can you have a Print button on this screen or you should be using the Abobe toolbar's Print button..?
Well if this on a click of a button in the form and the requirement is only at the time of print and not on print prieview I can have a JS script which does this...
Let me know if this suffice, I can try with a local file and send you the script.

It should not be much of a problem. Here is a detailed solution to your problem:
In your context , create a node MasterNode of cardinality 1...1 and singleton set to true. Bind this to the dataSource property of the InteractiveFormElement.
Inside this MasterNode create a node Data of cardinality 0...n and singleton set to false. Keep all of your payslip attributes inside this node.
In your interactive form element , in the Body Page create a subform of Type Flow Content and Flow Direction Table .Check the chechbox for Allow Page Breaks within Context . Inside this subform create another subform of Type Flow Content and Flow Direction Western Text . Uncheck the checkbox for Allow Page Breaks within Context . Put all of your pay slip UI elements inside this subform and bind them with the attributes under the node Data. Also tick the property of the inner subform under the section Object->Subform that says Repeat Subform for each Data Item
In your view controller coding area , create an element of the node Data for each employee record and populate it with values for the particular employee .
Add all of the elements that you created into an ArrayList and bind this ArrayList to the node Data. Now your form is ready for n number of employees.
Put this sort of coding in your view controller coding:

Here are the steps how you can do it.
1. Create a table.
2. In the Library palette, click the Standard category and drag the Table object into a cell in the main table.
Note: If you selected Donu2019t Show This Again in the Insert Table dialog box, when you select the Table object from the Library palette, LiveCycle Designer automatically inserts a table with the same number of columns and rows that you inserted the last time you used the Insert Table dialog box.
3. In the Insert Table dialog box, enter the number of columns and rows. You can enter a maximum of 20 columns and 50 rows. You can add more columns and rows after the table is created by using the Insert commands on the Table menu.
4. To add a header row, select Include Header Row In Table.
5. To add a footer row, select the Include Footer Row In Table.
6. Click OK.

ADOBE FORM-static-called multiple times - data on different pages

Hi Experts,
I am calling an adobe form multiple times for each employee inside a loop.
The layout is less than half the page.
For each employee inside the loop when calling the ADOBE form it is triggering a new page.
I want to continue the printing in the same page.
Is this possible? Please advice.

That is bc ADF life cicle... Is always executing 2 times...

his requirement was a bit different from what you answered I am saying this because i've stumbled on the same problem. I have a table that varies between 4 or 8 rows and let's say half of the page it's enough for it. But i need this table to appear on every page. I created the table in the Master Page, but it shows only on the first page. The other pages will not display the table.

I had a query regarding the display of multiple pages in adobe 5.5 version.
I had data which suits in more than one page in adobe.But its displaying only the data in the first page.And it is displaying the empty second page also,but with no data.So any suggestions to solve this issue???

version 5.5.1.280? It is version of Adobe Reader? If yes then you can't use this version for viewing of adobe forms (note 834573 - SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe: Acrobat/Reader version).
Another suggestion: Is subform of your first Body Page flowed (tab Object->Subform, propertie Content)? If not then content of this Body Page can't dynamically grow.
Check subforms of your Body Pages, especially tab Object->Pagination.

Table Overflow - Page Break - Multiple tables in Body page in Adobe forms

I have to do a payslip in Adobe forms. I am using only Adobe for print forms.
Please redirect me to correct category if this is wrong category.
I am customizing standard form PYXXFO_SAP_PAYSLIP_IN01. (payslip for india through hrforms)
The standard form is entirely positional. So, if the contents of the table overflow, they are overwritten on the contents below.
So, I have to make corrections to adjust the payslip for table overflows.
My changes:
1. There are total 8 tables in form. I created content areas for each of them and assigned the subforms/tables to those content areas.
2. I converted the body page from positional to flowed, and applied the related pagebreak settings.
The problem I am facing:
When the earnings table overflows, the rest of the content is displayed on second page, in a continuous manner.
eg.
The structure of the form is:
Header details
earnings table   deductions table   form16 table
Other tables
leave details
now, if the earnings table overflows -
page 1:
Header details
earnings table (page break)
Page2:
(continued)earnings table
page3:
(continued)earnings table   deductions table   form16 table
Other tables
leave details
In this, the deduction table and form16 table is shown on 3rd page. I wish to show them on the first page as they have not overflown.
I am sure, I am missing something very small, but I am unable to understand what.
I tried all the possible combinations.
Does the main subform needs to be "positional"?
They way I expect it is:
page 1:
Header details
earnings table (page break)    deductions table   form16 table
Other tables
leave details
Page2:
{Header details - It would be great if I could have this}
(continued)earnings table
page3:
{Header details}
(continued)earnings table
Also, If this is successful, I would like to apply the same feature to rest 6-7 tables.

The solution for this thread is as follows:
I was sort of hoping that there should be some standard functionality available for this, it being Adobe, but there is not.
So, I had to run a work around. Quite a lengthy one.
What the problem was:
I needed to print around 4-5 tables adjacent to each other in single page and in verticals. What Adobe does is: it fills 1st table, then 2nd then 3rd and so on. So, if there is a page break due to large entries in the adobe, the contents breaks with rest of the tables being blank, but the content being filled sequentially.
What I did was:
I created a grand table with the structure having all the tables embedded in it. eg.
data: begin of grand_table occrs 0,
table_A type table_a_table_type,
table_B type table_b_table_type,
table_c type table_c_table_type,
end of grand_table.
Hence, I could include all the data in a one single grand table, and put the data in sequential manner.
