Multiple Pages  in Thumbnails

Using Mac Acrobat 9.4.5- it appears to have lost the ability to select multiple pages in the Pages thumbnails side bar ie using Shift for contiguous selection or Command for non-contiguous ie I don't want to have to go to Document menu to do this. It's easier with the visual clues of the page.

Received this helpful response from Adobe over the weekend:
"Thank you for taking the time to notify us of this unexpected behavior after updating to Acrobat 9.4.5.
This has been identified as a bug by our engineering team.  They are hard a work adding a fix to be included in the next update.  There is no time frame for this patch to be released. In the meantime if you are trying to manipulate contiguous pages you can drag and choose the pages.  Of course this will not help to choose pages that are not nearby to each other.
We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to have this issue resolved in the future."

  • Acrobat 9 Pro:  Dragging multiple pages by their thumbnails

Re:  Acrobat 9 Pro:  Dragging multiple pages by their thumbnails.
In Acrobat 9 Pro for Mac, it used to be that I could click on a single thumbnail page in the Pages Navigation Panel (the thumbnail image of that single page would turn blue), then shift-click on another page 3 pages down (with the first and last thumbnail image, along with the 2 thumbnail images in between turning blue), and then drag all 4 pages (i.e., the first and last pages clicked upon and the two pages in between) to another document.
Now, when I try that, only the last thumbnail image clicked upon turns and remains blue, and only that one page can be dragged.
Note 1:  I'm using Acrobat 9.4.5 Pro on a MacBook Pro running OS 10.6.8.
Note 2:  I checked for this desired ability on a friend's PC running Acrobat X, and it worked fine.
Note 3:  I completely reinstalled Acrobat 9.0 and updated it, and the feature described above still does not work.
So, what happened and how can I get this feature to work again?

This is a known bug with 9.4.5: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/865843?tstart=30
There's a good chance it will be fixed in a quarterly update that should be available within a month or two. In the mean time, you can update to just 9.4.4

I do have a 2008 version of Microsoft Office installed to save money, but that shouldn't affect things. I can't figure out the "rename" function either. Help?

Oh, and I also reset my NVRAM, my computer hasn't frozen again yet, so I'm not sure if it has made a difference.

  • Selecting multiple pages from menu (thumbnails)

I installed the lasted Acrobat 9 Standard (9.4.5) update (6/19/2011) and  since then, I have been unable to select a group of pages within the  Pages menu (thumbnails) to move, delete and do some other operations.  I have always been able to do this.  Now, neither holding the  shift key nor holding the Ctrl key allows me to select multiple pages to  do anything as a group. I have to hold shift key, drag and drop and even though I do that, the results are not the same as it was before.
Did something change with the update?  Or perhaps a particular setting was altered with the update?  Any thoughts?I
    Help needed!

In the meantime if you are trying to manipulate contiguous pages you can drag the blue box around the pages and perform any action on the pages within the blue selection area. Of course this will not help to choose pages that are not nearby to each other.

  • Can I use preview to export multiple page PDF as jpegs?

Using Preview, I export multiple page PDF as jpeg and results are the first page only as jpeg. Can I use preview to export multiple page PDF as jpeg for every page?

Automator is great for this if you need to export many pages to JPG, or just have to do this often.
Two other quick and dirty way sto get it done:
    (1) Enable thumbnail view, click on the ONE PAGE you want to convert to jpg, then choose "export." If you choose more than one page, only the first will get exported to jpg.
    (2) Create a copy of the file, delete all the pages except the one you want to export to JPG, and export that page. You may be able to "undo" the delete, get all your pages back again, and re-delete all but the one you want to export, etc. I would not recommend doing this on the original version of the file because of Preview's autosave so-called "feature."

  • How to select multiple pages to export from one document to another

Have a 200 + page doc, would like to select about half to place in another doc.
An earlier post advised selecting the required pages in thumbnail view and copy and paste into second doc. No problem with single page that way but how to select the multiple pages.
    Would appreciate some guidance please.
    Am using Pages Maverick.

    Thanks fruhulda.
    This is what I found,
make a section around the consective pages to be copied,
in thumbnail view, hold down shift key, right click on first page in section of interest, select copy,
in thumbnail view of second document, right click and select paste.
    transfer complete.
Found clicking in body of second document, ie not the thumbnail view, paste will only transfer text and not images.
I do have difficulty in splitting sections - will search forum

  • Can anyone explain to me how to print a page of Thumbnails of the same photo?

Can anyone explain to me how to print a page of Thumbnails of the same picture, for wallet photos?

In the print window select a print size that would allow many of the same photos on the page.  Click the Customize button and under settings select Multiple of the same photo per page.  In this screen shot I selected a size of 2x2.
Adjust the print size to get the number of photos per page that you want.

  • PRINT ENLAGED IMAGE ACROSS MULTIPLE PAGES

I have a scanned image that I want to print at 4 times its original size across multiple pages. Is there any known way to do this?

    Thanks for the info, guys.
I don't have InDesign installed. I'll consider installing it, but it's sad that we have to install an entire app to get functionality for Adobe graphics programs that even browsers offer routinely. Jeez, Firefox spans pages automatically.
If you have a graphic larger than the page and you don't opt to resize it, Photoshop should offer to clip the overflow or print multiple pages. And ideally, to print multiple pages with an optional overlap.
I would have thought this was in version 1. But then again, Photoshop didn't have a thumbnail browser until what, version 7?

  • Dealing with multiple pages in Pages

While constructing a document, writing at the bottom of the page will continue the text onto a new page. However, if viewing these multiple pages in the sidebar, you'll notice they are grouped together (highlighted by a yellow box) and they cannot be rearranged. Pages does something silly and rearranges these pages as a group rather than single pages - For instance, if I wanted to move page 2 above page 1 you would normally drag page 2 above page 1, but they are grouped so it is impossible to do so.
Anyone know of a workaround for this?

    Hi Tyler,
You are working in a document that began life as a Word Processing Template, or as a Word import.
The yellow box identifies a Section. Only Sections can be rearranged by dragging. The Page Thumbnail icons are only there to give you a sense of the size of the Section and to allow you to jump to a page by clicking on the icon.
It would normally not make any sense to rearrange pages as it would mess up the text flow. Therefore you Select the content of a Page, Copy it, place your text insertion cursor where the want the copied content to go and Paste.

  • Safari multiple pages

How come in safari I don't have the two little squares on the top bar to view and open multiple pages all I can do is open new tabs? I have the forward and back arrows the bookmark button and the add bookmark tweet ... Button how can I change it so I can get the multiple pages view?
    Thanks
    Greg and sharna

Safari on iOS 5 uses tabbed browsing, not the thumbnail/page browsing as found in previous iOS versions. You can open new tabs via the '+' on the far right of the tabs bar; and you can close tabs via the '-' on the left end of each tab (though you can't close the last tab).
You can't go back to thumbail/paged browsing, though if you'd like the option you could try leaving feedback for Apple and see if it gets added in a future iOS version : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

  • In Pages '09, OSX 10.8 how do I print multiple pages on one sheet of paper.  (I used to be able to do this in earlier versions via the "page setup" menu.

Forget it.  The answer is that the multiple page per page setup comes up in the printing menu.  (When you do command-P)

Click on the Show Details button in the Print dialog.
Whenever options seem to disappear, have a look around and explore what is available. Particular when they have what appears to be relevent labels.

  • New preview function for iPad–error message "Multiple page sizes not supported"

When I try to use the new preview function with my iPad I get the error message "Multiple page sizes within a layout are not supported". I have a page that is 768 x  1296. I would really like to preview this folio before publishing. Any suggestions?

If you're trying to create an article that scrolls vertically, you can create a 768x1296 article in a 1024x768 folio, but you need to select a Smooth Scrolling option when you create or import the article, or in the Article Properties dialog box.
