Multiple Party Shuffle playlists???

Is there a way to create multiple party shuffle playlists?? I would like to have a party shuffle for 3 or 4 different genres of music
If its not already possible, would anybody agree that this would be a good feature??

well, ive done that already.. But you see, Im setting up a internet radio station using automator to change playlists automaticly.. So I want a few different party shuffle playlists already set up so i can just trigger those at a sheduled time.
Maybe there is a way to switch the party shuffle input playlist within automator??

    Hey.
How do i upload Party Shuffle on my iPod.
I don't want the current items on Party Shuffle in iTunes, but the Smart Playlist that will shuffle my songs on my iPod.
It's driving me nuts, can't figure out how to do..

Party shuffle is only on iTunes.
You can shuffle everything on the iPod.
From the main menu, select Shuffle Songs.

  • Multiple MIDI Command Playlists

I'm looking to control my guitar effects, audio back tracks, and eventually lights with logic pro. I've seen how to write midi data and automate it, but that is just for one song. How would I have access to multiple files/songs of midi automation in a live setup. On triggering end, I would have a midi foot switch with about 3 buttons and program them 1: previous song 2: play song 3: next song. But how would I set that up in Logic to be able to use a midi controller to scroll through multiple Midi automation files? Is there a way to make a playlist of midi/audio tracks in one logic file?

  • Multiple duplicated populated playlists...

At this point it has been going on for months...don't laugh too loudly...demented relative keeps me very busy.  Anyway, I can't take it anymore.  I have clouds beside everything like all the music is in the cloud.  Fine.  They all play.  I just don't have room for all this extraneous garbage.  Is it an iCloud or iTunes Match issue are a combo of both...explaining the two of EVERYTHING.  Can anybody 1) explain the glitch and 2) tell me what I checked that I shouldn't have! Thanks!

  • Party Shuffle not working

Does anyone have any insight on why my party shuffle playlist doesn't work?

    narya hello,
there are two bugs that have been around for a long time and I quite often post a reminder... like so
    From the iTunes Hot Tips
If party shuffle or visualizer will not refresh... select all songs in PS/list and delete, the visualizer needs default settings, reset... start visualizer full screen and type 'D'.... type '?' for more options.
Once done they seem to disappear... who knows why ???

  • Party Shuffle corrupted by upgrade to iTunes 7.3.1.3?

After upgrading to iTunes 7.3.1.3, my Party Shuffle playlist is populated with only the songs from my 90's Music playlist. The "Source" dropdown menu in the Party Shuffle window has no effect on the content of the Party Shuffle playlist and the "Refresh" button in the Party Shuffle window does nothing.
Everything else in iTunes, including the Music library shuffle function, is working properly. I tried reinstalling the iTunes software but that doesn't resolve the problem.

I didn't have to reboot "a dozen times" but it did happen to me aswell. I had to reboot once after the iTunes update. Then it recognized my phone...

  • Party shuffle Not really "shuffled"

    Alright, In my party shuffle window ALL I get is my library, IN ALBUM ORDER, i.e. Album "a", track 1, 2, 3, 4 ,5 etc...Album "b", track 1, 2, 3, 4, 5...etc.
    This is hardly a shuffle.
I can press the shuffle button FOREVER and it will not change at all. Nothing changes ever, no matter what I do.
    Any Ideas?

    Jaydenn,
    Welcome to Discussions.
    Any Ideas?
    Actually only one.
    Try this:
Select all songs and press the Delete key.
This will force iTunes to repopulate the Party Shuffle playlist.
Does the Shuffle button work now?

  • Party Shuffle Not Updating

My party shuffle playlist is empty. It does not fetch new songs from my library, and pressing the shuffle button does nothing to add new songs to the list. I've got it set to 15 songs for both past and upcoming songs.
I can play songs in party shuffle by right clicking on them in the library and selecting play next in party shuffle. Once the song is done though the music stops.
    Can someone help?

What version of iTunes are your running? There was a glitch in 7.0.1 re: Party Shuffle. Version 7.0.2 fixed this issue.

  • PARTY SHUFFLE STOPPED SHUFFLING!

the songs in my party shuffle playlist are in the same (alphabetical) order as my library. tried messing with shuffle in the pull down menu but to no avail. any thoughts???

It's likely that you've accidentally added your library to the Party Shuffle list. Try this:
-Make sure Party Shuffle is the active source
-From the Edit menu choose Select All
-Hit the delete key on your keyboard, and confirm this action when prompted
That'll remove anything which has been manually added to the list, hopefully returning it to the way you expect it to behave.

  • How to create playlist of party shuffle from CD?

I had moved all my gigabytes of songs into a DVD to free up some space. How do i create playlist of party shuffle from the DVD?
I guess the answer is NO. Any workaround?

You can't create a playlist within the shuffle itself. It has to be created in iTunes first, then synced across.

  • Can my Party Shuffle problems be solved? Is anybody else experiencing this?

There are 3 glitches i have encountered using Party Shuffle (PS) in iTunes (v 7.0.2.16) that i don't know how to fix:
    1) When PS displays/sets the upcoming songs i'll be listening to, which are pulled from one of my smart playlists, a song will frequently show up twice in the shuffle queue. The higher the number of songs i have displayed "on deck", the more likely i am to see songs repeat, but i'll often have a song listed twice in just a 10 song shuffle queue, and sometimes thrice. Once the song is actually played though, it won't be put back into my PS queue anytime soon (because the smart playlist i have PS pull the songs from is set to only include songs i haven't listened to in the last month and have a playcount less than 10 or so (which by the way is an otherwise great way to sortof normalize the "randomness" of the iTunes' shuffle probabilities).) Nevertheless, it's not until the song actually plays and in turn updates the Last Played and Playcount fields for the song that it will take it out of the smartplaylist... but by then the song has already been queued multiple times in PS. (By the way, my Smart Shuffle playback option in iTunes preferences is set to the "least likely" extreme.) Anyway, it sounds like a lot of people are having issues with songs repeating too much and with iTunes' ghost preferences for some songs over others.
    2) I've also noticed that a number of people were having trouble getting PS to play songs continuously instead of one-at-a-time (i.e. having to press play again after each song ends to get the next queued one going). I heard this was taken care of with the latest update - v 7.0.2.16 (although i wish there actually were a way to toggle a continuous play option). Anyway, the recomened solution at the time seemed to be to set the PS option for displaying the number of recently played songs to something other than 0. So, i thought i would change mine to 0 to see if it actually would only play one-at-a-time. It did not. Instead, it started to do something even stranger. It now updates the Last Played and Playcount fields for the new song coming into the queue instead of the song that just finished playing. This isn't really the biggest deal to me, since i usually like to see what the last few songs played were, but it's a glitch nonetheless.
    3) The only other thing i've personally noticed, which isn't really the biggest deal either, is that sometimes when i tell iTunes to "clear album artwork" from a song... well, it doesn't do it. So i have the wrong album cover showing up in PS for songs that are playing. The only way it seems i can get rid of it is to replace it with some different image/cover... which can be a little annoying when you don't want to take the time to go trackdown the correct 200 x 200 pixel image for the album.
Well, i hope someone can help... especially with the first one. I'm guessing these issues can't be resolved until some future updates are released to deal with them. I hope you can prove me wrong though. I also hope Apple has some people listening in these forums for people talking about this stuff so they can fix these bugs... 'cause i don't know of anywhere someone can report an iTunes software bug/glitch.
    Cheers!

I am still on 6.0.5 so I can't really deal with your question, but just an observation.
You say the source for your party shuffle is a smart playlist. How many songs are there in the smart playlist? The fewer there are the more likely you are to get repeats in your party suffle list. Appologies if this is obvious.

  • Party Shuffle over Network

    Hello all,
Sharing my music library over a network using Airtunes is great.
I really dig using Party Shuffle on my main Mac but when sharing to my iMac iTunes doesn't allow me to use Party Shuffle, only the regular Shuffle option.
Is there any way around this?
    Any help would help.
    Thanks!
    OP

Count me in on this one. I logged in to check this and one other issue, both of which it appears are not yet available. Just to reiterate, I would like to see iTunes support:
    1) Party Shuffle capability for shared playlists
    2) Allow user to rate songs in shared playlists (permissions could be controlled on the serving library)
It looks like I'm in the same situation as at least several other people are - I want to store and manage just one main library (in the basement, in my case), while creating "shell" iTunes libraries on other household computers (or possibly media servers in the future) that access the shared library in the basement. Party Shuffle is fantastic; it seems that it wouldn't be too hard to update iTunes to serve random songs per Smart Playlist rules to a requesting client. After all, it's already serving songs as it is. Likewise, I've loaded my entire CD collection, but have only rated maybe half of my music to date. I like my basement, but it sure would be nice if I could rate songs while I stream them over my family room stereo (I have a special smart playlist that only feeds me unrated songs - only 1566 songs to go...).

  • I'm having Party Shuffle problems....please help!

First of all, I have tried browsing everywhere for help with my problem, but I am not finding the solution so thanks in advance for your help!
Since updating my iTunes to 7.3.1 my Party Shuffle doesn't work like it used to. Prior to this, I would just click on "Party SHuffle" and it would randomly select 20-25 songs from my Music Library. I would refresh it as much as I wanted and it would give me new songs. NOW when I click Party Shuffle, nothing comes up UNLESS I go into my library and click the little box next to each song (I have not been able to figure out how to select ALL the boxes at once), but even then it puts the songs I've selected in my shuffle not once but THREE times!
I have checked in my preferences that I have "Shuffle On" and the Source down at the bottom does indeed say "Music". I have even tried changing the source to "Purchased" but then I get a message saying that the playlist "Purchased" doesn't contain any songs playable by shuffle.
Did something happen with this new upgrade? I even upgraded again just now to version 7.3.2 and it still doesn't work.
    HELP!
    Thank you,
    Dina

Yes, the little box has to be checked in order for the songs to be played continuously. I wasn't aware that unchecked songs would add to Party Shuffle, but it makes sense. The reason it's putting the same song multiple times is that you haven't checked enough songs to make up the whole list so it repeats to make up the 25 or whatever.
Go to the Library. On a windows machine, I think you shift-click one of the boxes and it will check them all. If it's not shift, try the other modifiers.
Then, I'd recommend that you select everything in the Party Shuffle list and hit delete. This should completely repopulate the Party Shuffle list and often fixes problems with it picking odd things.

  • Party Shuffle w/ Sharing

Sharing my music from my desktop to my laptop using Airtunes I find that I cannot choose a folder in Party Shuffle to access my shared music. Is this part of the copyright law problem? Is there a way around this? I would prefer Party Shuffle over the old fashioned Shuffle option. Any ideas?
    Thanks.

  • Auto-fill iPhone with Party Shuffle?

I have a 160GB+ music library on my computer.
I would LOVE it if there was some way to tell iTunes, every time I plug in my phone to sync it, for it to fill the phone with random music selections (i.e. Party Shuffle). Or maybe fill x MB or x GB worth of the phone with random music selections. Is there some way to do this via AppleScript?
I love Party Shuffle at home -- it is the jewel of iTunes for me -- because I've discovered so much music unexpectedly through it -- and I'd love to have it on my phone too.

    You're welcome.
    1) How do I tell iTunes to transfer the songs in that playlist to the iPhone, on command?
There is no on command for this. Under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences, choose Selected Playlists and any Playlists that you have available should be available in the window below, including any Smart Playlists. Select the Smart Playlist you created followed by a sync.
    2) How do I tell iTunes to refresh that playlist and choose a fresh 100 songs, on command?
I don't believe there is any on command for this either, but there are all sorts of options with multiple combinations available for each Smart Playlist, and you can create multiple Smart Playlists.
