Multiple people in one card

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out the best way to manage multiple related people, e.g. a husband, wife, and kids, in my Address Book. Right now I stick them in one card, with fields like FirstName: "Joe & Mary", LastName: "Johnson", and multiple email addresses & phone numbers, some of which correspond to Mary and some to Joe.
The problems, though, are 1) To send an email to Mary in Mail I have to remember that I filed her under her husband's name, start typing "Joe", and scroll down to Mary's address (if I can remember which one is hers). 2) I can't seem to add both Joe' and Mary's email addresses to a single group in Address Book, so people complain e.g. that only one of them got our Christmas card. 3) I can't tell which phone number goes with which person unless I give them custom labels - but this causes problems syncing with phones or PDAs that don't understand those labels. 4) Birthdays for people's kids don't show up in iCal, because only one birthday is allowed per card.
If I switched to using multiple cards, then I'd have postal addresses duplicated in the multiple cards, which also seems very bad. I would also lose track of people when spouses or kids have different last names, as there'd be no actual link between the two cards.

Also, when you say "smart group" do you just mean "group"?
No I meant 'smart group'. But since things aren't apt to change much in your situation, you can probably use the regular 'group'.
I'm not sure what criteria I'd set for a smart group in order to get a family grouped together.
You can add text to the Note area that uniquely identifies the family. Then your smart group can be defined as any card with that unique text belongs to that family.

Another person was assigned to help me on a project so I had them install Flash Builder 4 and told them where my workspace it. Now I get an error when I try to open the same workspace when they have it open. How can I have multiple people working on the same project in Flash Builder?

Hi,
Yeah just sharing the workspace files is not going to do it for you and create problems as you have noticed. You'll probably be best to look at using some kind or source control like SVN using subclipse maybe with Flash Builder. There are many solutions out there but that is perhaps one of the most popular.
you can find subclipse at http://subclipse.tigris.org/ that might give you some ideas on where to start moving forward on team collaboration with Flash Builder.

Can we create a meeting invite to multiple people in one go.

Hi,
Is there a way to invite multiple people to a meeting invitation in one step by giving the mail addresses directly like "a.b@c,e.f@c,g.h@c...." instead of searching and adding each person individually one be one.
This can be really useful if I have huge number of people to invite.

How do I kick multiple people at one time?

Hello! I am a server administrator who runs a mega server. I need to kick 28 people out of a skype chat and I was wondering if there is a way to kick all of them at once? It would be alot of work to type out /kick (name) 28 times. If there is no way, is there any program I can download that would run this line below?
/kick Jim0533 *enter*
/kick rsjels *enter*
I would not mind typing the coding out, but I need them all to be removed at the same time so no one freaks out.

Multiple People on one account

When I had initially set up my apple account, it was under my dad's name since I was a minor. Now, my dad, myself, and my mom are all apple users but operate off of one computer. We would like to use the benefit of the cloud for sharing contacts but only with our own devices.
For example, my mom wants her contacts and calendar on her iPad and iPhone... But I don't want to see those on my iPhone.
I know that we need to set us up on separate account, so I created my mom one to use for herself.
Now, how do I switch to using this account on her iPad and iPhone WITHOUT losing all of the work/music/photos that she already created?

Well that would be nice, except for the fact that if you do not enter any info then it will actually blank out the first and last name of your address book contact for your account.

Sending mail to multiple emails for one card...

We are room parents. We made a card for each child in the class, then pu the mother's email in the 'work' email field and the father's email in the 'home' email field.
So when we send out a class email we would like it to go to both mother and father - can't seem to do it.
Any ideas?

How do i add multiple people in one pod cast

me and my friends are trying to make some pod cast for my youtube channel. the problem is not all of us can get together to make it. i wanted to know how we can all be in the pod cast at the sametime?

Skype works really well - if the person initiating the call does not have anything else running on their computer and they have a good internet connection.

You can use any good digital recorder in place of the iRiver shown - I actually now use a Marantz PMD-660 - which is definitely a little overkill.

Address Book - Create multiple contacts at one company?

I am using Address Book v 4.0.4 and I want to be able to create multiple contacts at one company without having to reenter the Company, Tel. and Address information each time.
Is there a way to duplicate an address, say the basic company address, to make the process of entering multiple people at one company any faster?

I talked to Apple today and here is how you create multiple contacts at one address, company etc. without having to reenter everything.
1) In Address Book, highlight a contact in the name list
2) Go to the Edit Menu & COPY
3) Go back to the Edit Menu & PASTE
4) Make changes to the new 'duplicated' contact
Seems easy if you know how to do it.

Currently you can't, but possibly in iOS 8 update.

Sending mail to multiple people

Hi,
I need to send mail to multiple people at one shot. I am using Transport.send(msg, addressTo[]); method. It is working fine. I have a requirement where in the person who receives this mail should only see his email id in the To field and not others.
if i do not set msg.setRecipient(), then the mails displays blank in To file. Where as if i set msg.setRecipient(Message.RecipientType.TO, addressTo[]), then it displays all the emails ids to which the mail is sent in the TO filed.
Please let me know if there is a way where the person will see only his email id in the To filed even when is mail to sent to multiple people.

Here is what I did to solve it:
1. I have created an String array of recipients
2. I have created a method named sendEMAIL(String[] address)
3. Inside the method, there is a loop in which every iteration, the function
sendMail() is called, thus sending the same email but the address is being changed every iteration
The method I described is slow since it mails to every address thus calling the function sendMail() every iteration which will be a lot slower for a lot of email address or recipients.
With this, I have been able to send same email to different people and those people wouldn't see the email addresses of other people in the "TO" field.

Multiple contacts in one business card in Address book

Does anyone know if it is possible to add more then one contact into the same card. I have business contacts where sometimes I have two reps I work with. It would be great to have them on the same business card in the Addy book.
Any ideas.

You may need to use Add Field in Preferences/Templates to turn it on for new cards, or Card/Add Field for individual cards. Once on it can have label values such as "Friend" "Father" "Assistant" etc, or of course you can set your own. You put a name in the value portion of the field; subsequently clicking on the label allows opening of the card with the related name. You can have multiple related names on a contact card.
Unfortunately you can't set up the link automatically; it would be nice if you could drop one card on another and it would prompt you for which related field label to use.
You could for example have a master card for some company that you do business with, and on that card put links to the various people within the company.

Can there by multiple accounts under one id? I just loaded a $25 gift card and it showed up in my balance. My daughter, under the same id had $12.0 left from a previous gift card. Now only the $12.01 shows up and the $25 is nowhere to be found?

Can there be multiple accounts under one apple id? My daughter and wife apparently share an id between my daughter's ipod and my wife's ipad. My daughter has what she believes is her $12.01 left from a gift card. My wife loaded a $25 gift card recently (I saw the $25 balance in her account when she was done) and after a password change, now all that shows up is the $12.01?

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

Hi,
Try switching to Media view and then go to Find -> By Details.
Set the field to People and select the persons name.
You add further people by clicking on the + sign
The two options above the search criteria allow you to select all photos containing at least one or only ones with all of your selections.
The search can be saved in case you want to repeat it a later time.
