Multiple photos in greeting card

I would like to create a greeting card with a photo on the front and a photo inside. iPhoto 6 card themes do not allow this. How about iPhoto 7.1?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. iPhoto 7 has some new themes which have an array of two, three or four pics on the front page. Some have a second photo on the inside of the front page facing the text/greeting page of the card.
If you have an image editor that can handle layers like Photoshop Elements and want to print them yourself see Tutorial #8. You can add a second photo anywhere you want and even add additional text.
Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Valid size not available for this creation when using Greeting Card feature

Using PSE9 with a Mac.  When attempting to create a greeting card, after selecting the photo, the Greeting Card, I receive a pop up error message as follows:
"Valid Size Not Available For This Creation".  (All other Create functions such as Photo Book, Photo Calendar, and Photo Collage appear to be working).  I have been in contact with Adobe Support and have been instructed to do a number of things from creating a new preferences file to uninstalling and re-installing the PSE software, with no result.  Has anyone else run into this problem, and if so have found a fix?  Thanks.

I've been tearing my hair out over this one also. I've been on hold for over 10 hrs with Adobe Support waited over almost 2 weeks and still no resolution. I'm trying to create the Save the Date cards for my wedding and I can't wait for Adobe. Removing the preferences file and uninstalling/reinstalling does not fix the problem.
That said I did figure out a workaround for this. It's easy but it does require Windows. For me this was no big deal as I do own a Windows box.
Get the free trial version of PE9 for Windows and install it. If you don't have a Windows computer get to a friend that has one
Upload some of your photos to the PE9 Windows Organizer (it's identical to the mac version)
Select Create and then Greeting card. Photoshop will launch the guided edit feature for greeting cards.
Select the Layout feature and once you find out that you like save it as Photoshop project. Repeat this step for as many layouts as necessary.
Copy your Photoshop project files (and any folders) to your mac.
Open the project files as you would with any other Photoshop file.
You can now select the Create feature. You will be able add your pictures and resize them, you will be able to add/remove text, you'll be able to change the backgound/borders, add graphics...pretty much anything...EXCEPT automatically modify the layout. If you click on Layout, PE9 returns nothing. You can however go into full edit mode and if you have decent Photoshop skills you can make any changes to the layout manually.
If I had to put money on this I'd say that there is a problem with the PE9 Mac installation package. For some reason it is not deploying the layout data/files or it is not putting them in the right place. For this reason the program can't find the layouts when the user selects the greeting card guided edit.
    Good luck.

  • HT4007 printing greeting cards with 7" width & 5" height

I print photos on greeting cards with specific dimensions: each greeting card is 7 inches in width & 10 inches in height; each is scored in the middle allowing me to print 2 (5x7") photos per card. Whenever a photo is printed it is not in a landscape mode. It seems to me that Aperture is defaulted to print 5x7" photos with the width being 5" & the height 7". I place the greeting card into the printer with the width being 7" & the height 5" with the orientation being in the portrait mode. To date, I have had no luck printing a photo with the correct orientation on the greeting card.

Have you tried to edit a custom print preset like the above? Page size 10x7 inches,
image siz 5x7, 2 rows, one column, orientation landscape, no borders?
    Works for me.
    Regards

  • How do you print on the back of a greeting card in Photo Creations

I want to put pictures/text on the back of a greeting card created in Photo Creations, how do I do that?

    Hi again, JaysMother.
Are you making print-at-home or ship-to-home cards? For Print at Home, you could make a second card that has just the front image and blank inside surfaces (use the Plain White theme). Then feed the paper through again, upside-down. Experiment with plain paper first to make sure everything's lining up the way you want.

  • I want to use a gray card shot in ACR to multiple photos. Poss into the Elements or  only in PS?

I want to click the grey card photo in ACR 7.3. of Elements, an then apply it to multiple Photos there.
Is that possible in Elemements or only in Photoshop's ACR?

Thanks, but just this it was I‘d done – to click my RAW files, select open in Windwos Explorer – and ACR opens – but only with first selectet file. I’m missing the fim stripe on the left site….thats the Problem. All selected files are imported into ACR, but I only see the full size image of the at first selectet file. Breaking the prozess…I see one after the other selectet filed disappearing . The were open, but not shown as a filstripe…that’s the problem

  • 5 by 7 Greeting Card--6 photos

I am trying to create a graduation 5 by 7 card in Photoshop Elements 12.  I want to use 6 to 8 photos on the card.  When I select the options that show multiple photos such as storyteller, the format only allows for 3 pictures.  Is there a way to add more photos than the formats offered?
    Thanks,
    Lulu

I suggest that you make your own template for this project.
In PSE Editor, Expert tab, go to File menu>new>Blank file. Enter w & h, resolution the same value as that of the picture files, background color to suit. This will be your canvas.
Do the math and figure out how many pictures you can fit on the card comfortably.
Go to File>place, point to where the pictures are on disk, then place them. Use the corner handles to resize the pictures while holding down the shift key in order to retain the proportions. Each picture will come in on a separate layer.
You can add a stroke to each picture if desired.
    Hope that this helps.

  • How do I get photos on Avery greeting cards?

Using Publisher Software and Photoshop Elements 10, to print photos on Avery half-fold jet ink greeting cards, how do I transfer photos onto the card?

I am not familiar with "Publisher Software."
Most of these programs work similarly.
Enhance your  photo in PSE, then save it to disk
Open the software for the greeting card, select the appropriate Avery template
Look for an insert option, point to where your graphic/picture is on disk, and insert.

  • Sending Flash greeting card to multiple recipients with personalization

    Hello.
We are creating a greeting card in Flash and I need to send it to several people and enable others in my company to also send it to their contacts.  I want the end panel to read something like "Dear [Client Name], Season's Greetings from [name] and [organization].  The card will be distributed via a link in an email.  I think I will create one presentation for each employee so that their name will be on the end panel.
Is there a way to embed text strings in the email hyperlink so that when the user clicks the link, Flash will add those strings to the presentation?  I really appreciate any help you can offer!

Yes, that is what I read from your first posting.  If you look at the link I provided in my last reply you will see that it embeds some data that follows the question mark.  That is where you will embed the data you want for the url.  If you are not familiar with hiow that is done, the format is basically....
    http:/www.someurl.com/somepage?data1=name1&data2=name2&data3=name3... etc
So in your case you'd be using the names where I show name1 and name2, etc... (data1, etc are arbitrary variable names)
What you need is something waiting at the url that extracts that information and my first posting describes a couple of ideas for that.  A PHP program is geared for extracting those variables almost directly.
One thing you could also consider is not using the actual names in the url, but instead using some codenames that you use to look up the real names in a separate data file, but that is just an enhancement on the task you need to take care of.

  • PSE 9 Problem Printing Multiple Photos

I am unable to properly print multiple photos in V9. For example if I select a single photo and select my paper size as 81/2x11 and try to print 5 copies of the photo in 3 1/2 x 5 size - the preview screen only shows a single photo and it shows it will only use one page. If I print it, the photo is printed one time on 5 pages. I have included a screen shot. The same thing happens if I print multiple copies of multiple photos. I know there is an option under more options to only print one photo per page but it is not selected. Even if it was selected the preview should show that 4 pages would print. I have duplicated this on more then one computer. This is a serious bug and makes printing from PSE useless. This started after I installed a recent upgrade.

I would like to add my experience with printing.  As per the previous comments I have also used Elements since the first version and have undergone many upgrades, so believe I am qualified to make these observations.  I have always used Elements to manage printing for our art and photographic business and have never had any issue and very little waste, very important when the paper and inks cost so much.
It would seem that the printing from Editor works much as I would expect.
Printing from Organiser does not work as it should.  I have always used this for printing greeting cards and other multiple print options and would expect to set for individual prints to a specific size with a number of copies per page.
    Observations of print problems:
Only one image per image selected appears in the preview window.
The preview window does not update to indicate multiple pages  will be printed where more than one page worth is chosen.
Only one image is printed per page.
Images requested print one to a page, so in my case three pages for one image 'Use each photo' set to three.
In the 'More Options' is a tick box to select one image per page, this is not selected.
At this stage popped up a message stating Organiser is unable to print and will skip this page.  The printer then prints 3 blank pages this being the number selected.
I am pleased to say that returning to PSE7 to check my facts I find it does exactly what I would expect, the preview page fills up with the number of images selected to print.
I would like to know if Adobe will be pursuing this issue as I have no use for PSE9 if it can't print as per previous versions.

  • How to e-mail Greeting Cards created in Elements

I would like to be able to create Greeting Cards in Elements 11 and then e-mail the cards.
    I this possible?
    Sheila

There are multiple ways to do it.
    1) Create a Greeting card in PSE Editor. Once done with editing click on File->Export Card and choose PDF/JPEG and save it on your hard drive and mail it as attachment.
    2) Create a Greeting card in PSE Editor. Once done with editing click on File->Export Card and choose PDF/JPEG and save it on your hard drive and mail it as attachment. Import in your Organizer and choose Share->Email or PDF Slideshow etc.
I am hoping that you would like person to see th card on mail body itself so try Share->Photo mail also and probably JPEG should be fine here
    Hope it helps.
    Thanks,

  • Scan in mutiple photos in one file, can I crop multiple photos...

    at same time?
I don't know how to scan multiple photos as distinct file. I scan 5-6 pics it comes out at one file that I import into iPhoto. While it's very easy to crop each photo out of the file, I have to import the file as many times as there are photos
    to crop.
I hope I've been clear. Is there a smarter way to work. I don't see a way to scan
the 5-6 pics as different files in my scanner software.
    Thanks

    Joshua:
Vuescan is a 3rd party scanning application which can do batch scanning but is a little more difficult to set up. It works with most scanners.
If you have a Canon scanner you can scan in multiple photos at one time and have the scanner software crop, not as close as I'd like, each one individually and present to you in the editor of your choice or the one that comes with it.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. • HT204364 How do I make different greeting cards and send them to the same address in a bulk - not having to pay $3.99 shipping for each card

In Iphoto, I would like to produce a bunch of greeting cards with different pics for different people and I would like all these cards to be sent to my home address in one shipment.
The way I understand it, I can only prodce one card and order multiple copies of the same card.
I am looking for a way not to spend $0.99 + $3.99 (shipping)....
    Can this be done?
Or is there an app that allows that?
Or how can I save each card and have them printed somewhere else?
    Thanks!

Not really because the format is an odd size and when you save it as a pdf file there's a white border around the card.
There are 2 tutorials on how to print them yourself if you have a 3rd party image editor that supports layers or Pages from iWork: iP06 - Printing a iPhoto Greeting Card and iP07 - Printing a iPhoto Greeting Card to Standard Stock Sizes.  Apple has made it difficult to print them borderless unless the card color is the same as the card stock.

  • Source for Good Pro-Quality Custom Greeting Cards

    hello all:
i'm interested to know if anyone has found a source in the US for good, reliable, pro-quality greeting cards that can be made from digital photo files. i've been getting a lot of inquiries from clients about posing for family portraits to be used as holiday greeting cards. this is a service i've yet to offer as part of my growing portrait biz.
importing selected picks into iPhoto and ordering through there seems like a reasonable workflow, however, the prices for iPhoto's cards are kinda high.
