Multiple podcasts in Itunes

Could somebody help me to have several podcasts in iTunes ver 7? Each time I input a new url, the old one is deleted. I seem to be only able to have a single podcast.
Thank you

Another podcast play/sorting issue:
I only use the podcast "list" guide. On the list interface you have the option to adjust the settings so that the Newest episode is on top, thus when you click on the podcast you see the newest episode directly below it.  I have always done it this way because its the easiest way to view things - the My Podcasts interface lists podcasts in a different order every time, not alphabetically, and is basically useless.
It is ONLY in the My Podcasts interface that the newest episodes are listed first, NOT on the List page where I asked for them to be listed first.... PLEASE fix this, or at the very least remove the option to adjust settings on the list page - you cannot adjust List settings at the moment.
The newest episodes NEVER go to the top of the list, the order never changes. it's very inconvenient to have to scroll down sometimes hundreds of episodes (which seemingly cannot be individually deleted anymore) in order to see what the newest episode is. Again, please fix ASAP, and maybe stop tinkering after that. I have not seen an "improved' iTunes version in many many years.

    Hi AkMat.
Have you actually opened these files to see what they are yet? The few Apps I've downloaded (not from iTunes) typically come with a few files. The actual app, the instructions/help/TOU and sometimes an uninstall.

  • How can I play multiple episodes of a podcast in iTunes 11?

Hi there - I'm subscribing to a number of podcasts in iTunes 11. I would like to play multiple episodes of a podcast one after the other without having to start each one separately, and preferably without having to create a playlist each time. Any ideas?
    Thanks!

I do not have an 'My Podcasts' option.  Ihave Podcasts and On this IPod
In Podcasts if I click on a podcasts no options display.
Also, why do some of my podcasts now delete automatically after they have been played and some do not.
I have my Settings set to not auto delete
I have to say that Apple seems to screw more things up than it fixes.  I would suggest when you include new options you default it to keep it as it was before upgrade so people can choose to use it and not have to reset things not to use it

  • Playing Podcasts in iTunes sequentially

I've been listening to Podcasts on iTunes for a long time now, but I occationally have a problem listening to podcasts sequentially on iTunes.
I usually go to the Library and select "Podcast" as the Genre, then I usually choose "All" for Artists and Albums. That way I get a list of all my Podcasts. Then I usually reverse sort on Time so I can listen to the shortest podcasts first. With the latest iTunes, I choose multiple speakers and then start at the top selected podcast and hit "Play". This usually just sequentially plays through the podcasts. When the one that is playing finishes it continues on to the next podcast in the list.
Occationally, for some reason I can't figure out, this doesn't work and iTunes only plays one podcast. I've tried the little icon on the bottom left (arrows pointing to each other in a circle) used to play over and over and repeat a selection, but that doesn't seem to do it.
Does anyone know what I can do to get this working again?

    Solved by this Thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=584137
It turns out that I had used the checkmark to load different music on my iPod mini and my 60GB ipod. The checkmark is needed to play sequentially through the album. Rechecking all the songs allowed the music to play sequentially.
Thanks to Dave in the thread mentioned above for figuring this out for me.

  • Release date set to 1/5/11 for all podcasts and iTunes U files

I have an ongoing problem with iTunes on my MacBook Pro where the release date is set to 1/5/11 for all podcasts and iTunes U files. Although I can seemingly correctly sort by release date, the date is the same across all files. Can someone advise as to how I might go about correcting this such that the actual, proper, release date is shown? Thanks in advance for the help! - mvrb

    @King_Penguin thanks for your help
    See below some additional info:
    I have 3 Macs:
    1 X MBPr 2012 (OS X 10.9.1
    1 X MBPr 2012 (OS X 10.8.5)
    1 X iMac 2009 (OS X 10.8.5)
    1) All 3 Macs have access to same accounts and have same apps in iTunes.
    2) Problem is only found on both MBPr's 2012 with one NL and 1 US account. With one NL account (inactive) I have no issue on all three.
FYI I have multiple iTunes accounts: 2 for the Netherlands and 1 for US.
I also tried this after deleting the only 2 apps I got from the US iTunes Store but that did not solve my issue.
I think the matter is related to my iTunes account(s) and NOT to a computer (prefs file)

  • Multiple podcast subscriptions?

Is there any neat way of subscribing to multiple podcasts?
It is a problem that if I am in, say, Music Store>Podcasts>Business>All, there is a huge list & I may be interested in 100 of these. The 'Subscribe' button per podcast then takes me to my own library to begin the download.
The trouble is that is is very long-winded for the next one to navigate back to the required category, find my way down the list, & then try to remember which I have subscribed to when viewing the 'Master' list. It is a slow process for each podcast, & writing the 'subscribed' down as a list seems very counter-productive.
BTW it is PC iTunes, if that makes a difference

Hi. Yes it returns to the page, but at the head of the list. I can't tell from that list to which I am subscribed, & I have to try & remember what position I was in. This becomes an issue when I am subscribing to 40+ podcasts in the list.
Maybe there is no answer & hopefully an Apple dev might pick up on it for a future issue?

  • Podcasts in iTunes

    1. Why are my podcasts disappearing from iTunes 11.0.1? They are still in the iTunes Media folder, but all except the most recent single download have disappeared from iTunes.
    2. Why have I got FOUR 'headings' (or whatever the technical term is) for podcasts, complete with numbers of available files, in the Libraries tab in the sidebar, though selecting any one of them just shows the same ONE, most recent 'episode'?
    3. Can anyone suggest how I can keep all my downloaded podcasts in one place (as was the case before iTunes 11)?
    Thanks.

After changing the sync settings and connecting my iPad, I have something different, but still multiple 'Podcast' tabs. (The added podcasts came from the iPad.) But I do not want my MacBook podcasts synced with the iPad in future (yes, I have de-synced - I think), and want to go back to the podcast list I had a few weeks ago. How dare iTunes decide what I should have in my list! Dear me, Apple software used to be straightforward and reliable, but now I'm not so sure.

  • Multiple Podcast Libraries. Which is the correct file in the correct place? See photos.

I have multiple Podcast Libraries. Which Podcast file is in the correct place? I can combine the other Podcasts after knowing the correct path.
"iTunes New" is my external hard drive housing iTunes.
    So is it:
    iTunes New > Podcasts
iTunes New > iTunes > Podcasts
iTunes New > iTunes > iTunes Music > Podcasts

I would have thought this would be an easy solve for you Mac gurus.

  • Autoplay Of Multiple Podcasts

    Hello.
I recently upgraded from a 3G iPod to an iPod Classic and I have noticed that the new iPod handles the playback of podcasts differently.
On my old iPod if I had multiple podcasts I could start playing one and then when that podcast finished it would start playing the next podcast in the list. The new iPod stops after playing the current podcast and doesn't automatically start playing the next podcast.
Is there a place to change this playback behavior? Since my previous iPod was so much older I have no idea if this is an iPod software issue or an iTunes software issue.
    Thanks.

It seems this "fix" isn't published anywhere. I found the solution by accident for my ipod classic 6G.
Go into your ipod Settings menu and turn Shuffle "Off". When shuffle is turned off then the podcasts will play continuously.
If you want the podcasts to stop each time the end is reached then turn Shuffle "On".
It's a pain. I have to turn shuffle on for music and then remember to turn it off before listening to podcasts.

  • Podcasts Crash iTunes!!!

I'm a frequent listener of a lot of podcasts, and iTunes is giving me a lot of trouble when trying to listen to them. After I've subscribed & downloaded podcasts in the iTunes store, I will try to either drag them to my iPod or listen to them on iTunes. But whenever I try to click the podcasts menu button, it always comes up as an error, and I need to restart iTunes. The dialog box that comes up says: "iTunes has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I click OK, and then, couple seconds later, the "solution" appears that says there is a newer version that deals with the problem (although I have the most recent update). I've tried reinstalling iTunes multiple times and the problem still persists. Please, someone help!!

I've been getting a similar problem. When I update my podcast feeds, if I don't press ok on the password window before it times out, it kills Itunes. I think what is happening is that Itunes is start to request the feed, gets an "I want an user name and password" dialog from the server and then pops up a window. If you don't respond in time, the far server ends the session, and when you finally do respond, itunes can't handle the response from the far server and crashes.
What needs to happen is that Itunes needs to say "I have a username and password associated with this feed" and automatically send that, then only prompt the user if there is a response from the server saying there is a problem.
That being said, I still have the same problem of not finding a place to report this bug as well.

  • Can one create a smart playlist for multiple podcasts and to...

Can one create a smart playlist for multiple podcasts and to play one after the other on your iPod? I want to combine podcasts of the same topic in a smart playlist. When I tried to do this I chose smart playlist, album starts with, and then did it again for each podcast I wanted. That didn't work. If it can be done how do you do it?
I have a fifth generation iPod which is always updated to the latest as well as the itunes.

Say for example I want to put different car related podcasts in one smart playlist. Car related podcasts such as Wall Street Journal Car Cast and NPR Car Talk. Can it be done and if so how?

  • Burning cd-multiple podcasts no longer split?

With previous Itunes versions, I remember being able to burn cds with multiple podcasts on it. In such cases, if one full podcast and half of a second podcast could fit on a cd, itunes would record halfway through the show and continue the rest on the next cd.
Now it seems like, it will only copy what it can copy entirely. If only one full show can fit, then it'll push the second show to the next cd. Is there a way to change this? I'm eating through cds like crazy just to listen to podcasts.

Still not working but I have a little more information.
Rebuilding my iTunes library had no effect.
Rebuilding the preference file did have an effect:
The new preference file reset all the preferences (obviously) including where the itunes music folder is located. Forgetting to change the folder back to the external volume where all my music is kept, I tried downloading a podcast. It worked. I then tried remapping the itunes music folder to my actual music folder and it failed again, producing the same error I originally posted.
Okay, so there's an issue with my external drive. Well, perhaps, BUT, as I mentioned above, the drive appears to be working fine. I can read and write files to it, I can play music and podcasts off of it, and--here's the kicker--a different user account on the Mac, which shares the same external music volume is able to download podcasts to the drive.
So, there is a little more information, though I'm really not sure the next steps to take to troubleshoot this.

  • Load multiple podcasts to your iPod?

Does anyone know how to load multiple podcasts to their iPod? I assumed iTunes would push my entire podcast library to my iPod, but it didn't - only 1-3 episodes appear per podcast feed, and not even necessarily the most recent ones (and it failed to grab one podcast feed at all). In any case, I'd really like to have all podcasts available to choose from - is there some setting I can change to tell iTunes to transfer them all? (memory is not yet an issue)
Also, memo to the apple designers: a dedicated podcast menu on the iPod would be really nice. I'm surprised there isn't one already, actually, given how much the iPod menus mimic iTunes
Mac OS X (10.4.10)   iPod nano recent model

uh ... explore the MAIN MENU option under SETTINGS on your ipod. it lets you select what you want on the main menu screen.
Since you haven't managed to find that setting on your own, you might find it interesting that there are lots of settings in ITUNES that control what podcasts are transfered to your iPod. Plug your iPod into your computer, select it in iTunes, and go do the PODCASTS tab. Poke around in there for a bit - I think you'll find what you're looking for.

  • How can I have multiple users on iTunes (in order to connect to a shared office iPad)?

How can I have multiple users on iTunes (in order to connect to a shared office iPad)? Currently each of us has our own iTunes account, so I've made an "all office" Apple ID. However, I can't seem to get two different accounts (my personal and the office) to work on my machine. Even when I login as "the office", my personal library is still showing. Additionally, when I try to setup with a first-time use in iTunes, I get an error that I don't meet the minimum age requirement - no matter what birthdate I enter!

The library exists regardless of which user is logged in.
The only way around that is to create different user accounts on the computer.
There is no way to have 20 unique iTunes users access a shared iTunes under a single login on the computer.

  • Error Publishing Podcast to ITunes using IWeb

I am getting the following error publishing my podcast to Itunes using Iweb.
We had difficulty reading this feed. Bad http result code: 500
When I checked the rss.xml doc that iweb generates, it is very different from what itunes gives as an example. Do you guys plan on making your software match to the Itunes requirements so that it will post. I can edit and upload the xml file, but when iweb publishes again it will simply change it back to the wrong file.
Is there an update coming? What should I do?

Thanks for the suggestion. It seems that from GarageBand the only podcast option is to send it to iWeb. The option exists: "send song" to iTunes, but not "send podcast" directly to iTunes. I don't know if there's a meaningful difference between "song" and "podcast," but I've decided to wait.
I contacted Apple (apparently I haven't yet exhausted my free tech-support options since the purchase of this MacBookPro) and was told that the problem is most likely with iTunes. We'll see what the iTunes team has to say...
Further info I've learned: the audio podcast episode somehow got converted to a ".mov" file somewhere along it's path from being created in GarageBand to it's submission to iTunes. This is still a mystery to me as I specifically chose "MP3" when sending the episode from GarageBand to iWeb. Apple tech-support has passed me along the chain to the iTunes folks who only do tech support via email. So we'll see...
