Multiple Printers to APE via hub?

Hi all,
I want to hook up two, possibly three printers to my Airport Extreme Base Station. They are a Samsung ML-2050 Laser printer, a Canon MP530 and/or an Epson photo printer whose name I forget. I have an un-powered 4-port usb hub, and all of these printers work via USB. Can I hook them up to it? I want to be able to keep them networked at the same time, because they are currently each hooked up to a desktop, and when it's off no wifi printing can happen. I also want to put a hard drive on the hub, also via usb, is that too ambitious? What can I hook up to my network that I have listed here? and if not, any work arounds or other ideas?

Hello poisonjam46. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
You might find that you will need to use a powered USB hub with multiple devices, especially since your thinking of adding hard drive as well.
I suggest trying each device, one-at-a-time, to confirm that you can access it from the network. Then start adding an additional device, retest, and so on until you find the limit or reach your goal.

  • Time Capsule and Two USB Printers via hub?

Will Time Capsule work with two USB printers attached? I was going to attach two USB printers to a Time Capsule via a USB hub. I tried to do that in the past with an AirPort Express and that hardware will only work with one printer. I was told that AE Base Stations did work with multiple printers. Will a TC?

Yes. If it's a powered USB hub, that should work and you should see two printers listed under the Printers tab in AirPort Utility (manual setup). Some users have reported issues with certain hubs, but as I have no experience with this I can't recommend one that will work.

  • Multiple Printers off USB Hub

I run a complete variety of macs as a home network and am thinking of buying a new Airport principally so that I can use it as a server hub with the external drives I have (holding backups, photos, music etc).
I'm quite happy setting up the network (mixed wire and wireless) but am wondering if I can run multiple USB drives and multiple printers (colour and cheap laser).
If I place these in one location running a powered usb hub, will all the drive show up ? and If they are switched on, will all the printers show up as available ?
Any helpful hints, I'm looking to hide backup drives and printers leaving a minimal desktop and laptop footprint.
(PS buying new macbook soon to get the speed benefit from AE, but the network disk/printer is what interests me most)

  • Multiple Printers on 802.11G; Workaround?

Hi - We just moved and I'd love to setup both our printers to our older AEBS, model no. A1034: (http://support.apple.com/specs/airport/AirPortExtreme_Base_Station_nomodem.html)
    Printer #1 = Epson RX620 (AIO)
    Printer #2 = Samsung ML-1740
Would buying a powered USB hub work? If not what's my best bet short of buying the new AEBS - N, which supports multiple printers? I'd love to save some cash so maybe I buy the AX? Are there simpler solutions?

Just reread my question; perhaps I can clarify:
I believe that my older UFO-shaped AEBS only supports one printer via its single USB port. Can someone confirm that?
Or could I plugin a powered USB hub and add a second printer to my AEBS?
If this isn't possible, what is the best solution for extending my network to include two printers?
    Thanks!

  • Multiple Printers on AirPort Express 802.11n

I know the literature on the OLD airport express said that you could not connect multiple printers via a USB hub. Is this possible on the new version, released 3/17/08?
    It would really be outstanding...
Also, any Apple techs out there know why we don't see airtunes on the Extreme Base Stations or Time Capsule?
    Thanks.

I just bought an AXP at a local Apple Store. While there, I was told multiple printers would work, wouldn't work, not to try it and that it might work by several different employees. I bought it since I could try it and exchange it for an AXT if it didn't do this properly.
I now have an Epson 2200 and a Brother MFC 9700 connected and printing perfectly. They both show up as Bonjour printers. The only problem I had was adding the 2200 to one of our computers. For some reason I kept getting errors at first. Then I hit the Auto Select button for the drivers and it added properly. I don't know why this happened, since I used the default all along, there you go.

  • Configuring multiple printers with AE

    Hi all,
I have 2 printers (Epson Photo R800 and Canon S600) that I would like to connect to my Airport Express basestation via a USB hub. I tried this but my computer will only recognize 1 printer at a time. Either one alone works fine with AE. Is it not possible to connect 2 different printers? I am running a PowerBook G4 15" with OSX 10.3.9. Thanks.
    Chris

Is there ANY way to connect multiple printers via
    Airport Express?
    No.
Would I just have to get TWO Airport
    Express units?
    Yes.

  • Can I use multiple printers on the current airport express??

I would like to hook up multiple (3) printers for wireless printing using AirPort Express. Would also entertain AirPort Extreme. The printers are just too far away to make cabling practical and was wondering if the current crop of AirPort devices would support multiple printers through the use of an attached USB hub. The only other thread that seems to discuss this is from 2006. The salesperson at my local AppleStore did not have the info and suggested I come to these forums and ask the community.
    I am running a MacBook Pro 17" 233 GHz Core2Duo with MacOSX 10.6.8
The printers I would like to connect are 1 epson Pro7600 wide format, 1 HP DesignJet 1220c and a Brother 1440 laser printer.
    Thanks
    Phil

was wondering if the current crop of AirPort devices would support multiple printers through the use of an attached USB hub
Yes....if you use a powered USB hub with its own power supply.
I use a 4 port USB powered hub from Dynex available at Best Buy. Works fine. I am sure that there are many other powered hubs that will work as well.

  • Printing checks to multiple printers

Based on organizations my AP checks print to different printers. I'm using one check template for all of them. How critical is it to have the actual printers to be exactly same model? Do I need to even worry about this?

    Welcome to the discussions!
    +Can a TC be strictly wireless?+
Yes, although in this type of setup the TC will be a wireless backup device only. If you have another Apple"n" router creating your main network, you could also configure the TC to "extend a wireless network" to provide more wireless coverage.
+Can I have more then one printer attached?+
Assuming your printer is compatible with the USB port on the TC, (not all printers are), and you use a powered USB hub, you can attach multiple printers.
+(and will a USB to parallel adapter work?+
Can't provide an answer on that one, but would be surprised if it worked.
+Multiple HDs hanging off it work? Is there a limit to the number of devices? and if so, a limit per type or just total?+
As long as you use a powered USB hub and each HD has it's own power supply, there's really no set limit on the number of devices within reason.
+And is WiFi backups still painfully slow?+
Backups will occur as quickly as your current wireless network allows.
    +(and can I move a BU to the TC?)+
Not sure what you mean here. The TC is designed for Time Machine backups, but you can also store other files on the drive if you wish, providing that there is plenty of free space for Time Machine to operate correctly.

  • Multiple Printers with Airport Express

Is it at all possible to hook up two printers to my airport express with a USB hub? If so, how. Thanks.

Hello Chad Jones3. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
Is it at all possible to hook up two printers to my airport express with a USB hub? If so, how.
Sorry, but no. The AirPort Express Base Station's (AX) USB port will only support a single USB printer. USB hubs, let alone multiple printers are not supported.

Can any one you provide some information on below questions.
Check printing by XML template (XML Publisher).
    1. When printing checks, how do you print the checks from one printer tray and the overflow remittance pages from another printer tray?
    2. When printing a large batch of checks using XML and PDF output, how do you split the print job across multiple printers to shorten the print time?
I appreciate if you could give some information on above 2 questions.

  • Print to multiple printers

    Hi,
Could any one of you please tell me how to send the same page to multiple printers automatically ( without manual selection).
    Regards,
    Sandhya.

    Hi,
Am calling a standard program thru func module to which am sending the printer name to options parameter of open_form thru a BAdi.
My requirement is to get the receiving printers from custom table based on condition and then send the same form (page) to all those printers. How can I do this. FYI, RQ*31 is the print program .
    Thanks,
    Sandy.

  • Elements 10 does not recognize multiple printers of same model?

In our business, we print on multiple printers, some of which are the same model.
For example, the Epson Stylus C88 is a common printer for us and we've been using PSE for years, since Version 3.  For the purpose of our sample integrity (we print specialized inks to analyze their density), we wish to continue using Epson C88's for as long as we can still purchase them.
We've been making infrequent version upgrades to PSE, but are now finally caught up.
Unfortunately, when trying to print with PSE10 having more than one C88 installed, two problems occur:
    1) The printer selection menu has all the printers listed, but as soon as we access the Advanced Settings, the printer choice defaults towards the most recently installed C88 (ie. we wanted to use Copy 5 and it would not allow us to choose anything but Copy 9, the latest one).
    2) We're allowed to print exactly once.  When I try to print a second time, a dialog box pops up saying:
"Before you can perform printer-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer."
The box pops when I hit the print command, meaning I can't do ANY printing, despite having a large number of printers installed, unless I close and reload the program.
I attempted a quick fix of this by uninstalling all my Epson C88's, and then reinstalling the particular C88 I wished to use.  I was allowed to print, and continue printing, as long as that C88 was the only one that was installed.  Unfortunately, when I moved to install another, the problem surfaced again.  This time, I deleted my "original" C88 while keeping the second copy installed, and the problem persists.  I could maintain one and only one Epson C88 installed at any time, but I'd rather not have to.
Doing a little research, I've noticed that this is not the only model of printer with this problem.  I've attempted to load up an HP Officejet Pro 8000, and the exact same problem occurred, leading me to believe that it's an issue in PSE, not the printer.
The printer drivers are all current, and I have the latest version of PSE10 installed.  This hasn't happened on any version previous to my knowledge (earliest known being PSE7).
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give in this issue.

Yeah, that does seem to allow it to print.  This means I should rename all the printers, which, honestly, is not that big of a deal.  Not so much as uninstalling and reinstalling.
    Thanks!

  • Is it possible to stream music to multiple sets of speakers via airplay direct from iphone4s on ios7 in the same way that you can in iTunes

Is it possible to stream music to multiple sets of speakers via airplay direct from iphone4s on ios7 in the same way that you can in iTunes / Remote?
I know this can be achieved by the remote app.
Airplay functionality appears only to support 1 set of speakers at a time?

    Hockeyfanatic wrote:
Does anyone know how or if it's possible to stream my music from the iPhone to iTunes via bluetooth or wifi? Essentially I want to share the iPhone's library with iTunes (I know one can go the other way).
Here's why: I'd like to stream my music at work to my computer's speakers without taking the phone out of my pocket. I obviously don't have my home music collection on my company computer. And I figure if I place the phone on my desk to plug it in and play through iTunes, I could easily walk off without the phone. That would be bad (out of contact) and potentially sad (stolen).
It seems right now the only bluetooth connection to a computer is for the remote application.
Wait until November. Airplay/Airtunes iOS 4.2 announced for iPhone to iTunes/iTV. If you want a BT audio stream now, you can add a dongle to the PC for headset streaming.
As far as WiFi file transfer iPhone to iTunes, you can't. There's talks on it but nothing concrete. Except JB.

  • Handling Unit label (V6) - multiple printers configuration

I would like to print the handling unit label (V6) in multiple printers. Currently the condition records are set to plant/Packaging material combination with printing in one printer. I would like to have the ability to print to different printer in HU02 t-code based on userID. Can I configure it based on storage location or userid? Thank you.

Are you using WM+HUM or only IM+HUM?
In OMJ3 you can define printer by Storage Location,
in OMLV you can defin printer by WM organizational levels (storage types), movement type etc.
You can use NACE t-code to set the output type you want in addition to MDoc printout.
Can you explain your config, when are you printing your HUs at the moment?

  • Multiple data sources to open hub destination ??

    Hi,
Is it possible to assign multiple data sources to open hub destination?
At present we are FTP'ing a file to users. Users need one more field added to this file. The information for this field belongs to another ODS. I  checked the infospoke but it does not accept multiple data sources.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

You can create multiple transformations for open hub destination. Create destination of open hub destination to be file on application server and then use transfer mechanism to transfer files to desired destination.
