Multiple proces trying to use WiFi kills WiFi.

I'v had the weirdest issue for the longest time..
If 2 or more process try to use the WiFi at the same time, the WiFi performance just dies..
example:
Start transfer of 1 file to NAS.. Goes at 2.5MB/s
Start a 2nd transfer to NAS.. Performance drops to 90KB/s, then 0, then 250, then 0, then 90.. you get the idea.
example2:
Time machine doing a backup.. Don't use the Web, its 56K.
I want to say this is new with snow leopard. But it might have been happening before, i can't honestly remember.
But it driving me NUTS!.
The speeds i mentioned are via menu meters, so its speed on the device, not speed of each transfer.
Anyone got even the faintest clue whats going on?

The NAS is of my own design, and does other things then NAS work, but its idle when i'm gathering these numbers.
Its a Quad core Gentoo linux box w/ 8GB of ram, 3 1.5TB Hard drives in RAID5. Sustained 124000KB/s write is possible on the box.
The NAS is connected via gigabit line to a gigabit switch. Also attached to the switch is a NetGear WAG102 enterprise WAP, A/B/G ( the 5ghz version of A ). The WAP is a 10/100 port. So bandwidth to WAP is 100Mbps.
MBP is connected to the WAP via 802.11G, I got full bars, and line of site.
Files are transferred via SMB.

First make sure you are connecting to the right network. The next thing to do would be to change the password for the WiFi network to 8 characters.

HT1495 Multiple logons for one computer and multiple devices trying to use one itunes account.

I have one computer with a logon for Kids and one for Adults. There is a touch and nano that was added to a single itunes account tied to my email on the adult logon and the shuffle that is on the kids account. I can't seem to get the multiple devices access to all the songs with out erase and re-sync error message when not using the right device on the assigned logon to the computer - why and can we change this?

It sounds like each Windows user has it's own iTunesLibrary.itl file. If that is the case, then you are correct, the correct device must be connected when logged in with the correct login.
If all Windows logins share an iTunesLibrary.itl file... then it does not matter which login is used or which device is connected.

Nokia E52 restarts everytime using WIFI to access...

Everytime when i try to use WIFI to access Internet either using browser to surf, accessing the facebook or youtube applications using WIFI, the phone screen goes dim, and goes back to the main screen (the WLAN is automatically off when the phone restarts).
I have tried upgrading the firmware, but the problem still persist. The storekeeper says this is a phone bug, and there is nothing NOKIA can do.

Today i went to the company which sold me my Nokia E52 for my WiFi problem, i mentioned above.
As they saw i have updated my software version to 34.001 /the latest/ the told me that the warranty is void. Is this correct?
Everywhere it is mentioned that it is recommended to use the latest versions of the software, because some bugs are fixed, some additional functions are available, some problems are solved ...
I tried to explain to this companys personel, that i have never used my WiFi, because in the beginning when i bought my E52 phone, my first attempts were unsuccessfull because the phone was restarting when trying to use WiFi; but the use of WiFi then, at that moment was not so necessary. Now when i need this WiFi function, i tried the sofware update, and now my phone gives "System error" when trying to access WiFi.
Please advice?
Also i tried to look for the Nokia representative in Bulgaria - no success - on the Nokia official site it is mentioned only to ask for service where i have bought my phone from... No official authorised service?

Can you use wifi sync with multiple libraries and multiple devices

Hi all
Does anyone know if you can use wifi sync with 1 computer, 2 libraries and 2 devices?
I have my wife's iPhone synced to 1 library and mine to another library but on the same computer. Will wifi sync work this way or do you need iTunes to be open to the correct library for it to work? As I know you can't have 2 instances of itunes open on the same computer.

I have been looking more and more into this and it appears no.
You need to have iTunes running on the computer to enable it to wifi sync. You can use 2 devices on 1 library but if you don't have all the right options ticked you will then end up with each others stuff on each others device.
To enable wifi sync you need to have your iDevice connected to the same wifi network as your computer and iTunes open on that computer.
With my library open it detected my wife's phone and started to sync. Hasty push of cancel sync button lol.
There is a guide on here somewhere about multiple devices with 1 library which I can't find at the moment that tells you which options to tick so only your stuff stays on your device the the other half's on their device.
Its basically tick 'sync only ticked songs and videos' under summary of your device
Under apps take tick out of 'automatically sync new apps'
Then under edit->preferences click device and click prevent i's from syncing automatically
I think you should then be able to sync both devices to 1 library with mucking them up too much
Hopefully please correct me if I'm wrong

So sorry to hear about the trouble with Wi-Fi! Let's get that working the way it should. Could you provide us some more details regarding where this breakdown occurs? Are you having trouble with turning Wi-Fi on or connecting to your Wi-Fi? Are other devices connecting to your Wi-Fi without issue?

I have 2 airport express base stations that I am trying to use to extend my wifi. I have windows 7 and downloaded the airport utility but it wont pick up my airport express. Does anyone know what im doing wrong and how to get them to work?

I have them plugged in and they have a solid yellow light. Does anyone know what I need to do to get them to work. Your help would be appreciated.

I would recommend that you start by performing a "factory default" reset on all of your AirPort base stations. Once completed power them all down. While powered-down, temporarily connect both Express base stations to an open LAN port on the Extreme using separate Ethernet cables.
Once connected, power up the Extreme; wait five minutes, and then, power up each of the Express base stations. Which you power-up first doesn't matter.
Now start up the AirPort Utility on the PC. It should now "see" all three base stations. If so, go ahead and configure your extended network.
Please post back your results.

Sign in problems when trying to use Skype WiFi

I have a tablet that I am trying to connect to Skype WiFi and keep getting looped around to the sign-in screen. It tells me "You're already on line", but I can't do anything after that. I just have the "Learn More" button. I have unstalled and installed Skype WiFi twice and it still will not open. None of your instructions or guide are helping me.

My two airport express base stations are 802.11n and i am triying to use them extend my wireless network which is using a D link wirless router as supplied my my ISP connected to TalkTalk network.
Unless the D-Link wireless router has Ethernet ports for each of the 802.11n AirPort Express Base Stations (AXn) to connect to, they will NOT be able to extend the wireless range of the D-Link.
Instead, when directly connected and reconfigured for a roaming network, these base stations CAN extend the range.
Please check out this Apple Support article on how to use AirPorts to extend a wireless network.
The key is to have both AXns configured as follows:
As a bridge.
Each having a unique Base Station Name.
Both using the same Network Name (or SSID), wireless security type and password as the D-Link.
Each AXn to use a channel at least 3-5 channels apart both from each other and that of the D-Link.

Oh no! I am saddened to hear that you are having troubles with your MMS pictures. I know that this can be an important thing to be able to do. I appreciate you working with us to get this matter resolved as well. I see that you have spent time working with us, and I know that can also be frustrating. There are a few things we can check though. Are these to any specific numbers or all? A factory reset certainly should've resolved this. I get in now with the following procedures taken:
1. Reset network as suggested in Apple app.
2. In the wifi connection, instead click in the user name as shown in the screen, I click Others and re-type the user name as appeared before. In the security, instead of none, I click WEP. It will then prompt you to put in password. I then put in password as I know for that user name again.
Then, it joined the wifi..
Hope this can help someone who get this problem.
