Multiple Products on a Single Page

Hello,
Back when I built this website http://www.kerrlab.com/ BC didn't support multiple products appearing on a single product page. I worked with a BC vendor on a workaround which wasn't ideal since we had to put actual HTML into the Description field of the Catalog Detail page:

Has anything changed over the last two years? Or I'm I just not leveling the BC properly?
Ideal Structure:

Product - (EX: http://www.kerrlab.com/products-1/equipment/ultra-waxer-2)

We are looking to redesign the site and I figured this would be a great opportunity to rework the website structure.

Based from your current layout, i'm pretty sure we still cannot do this on BC.
Only work around I can see is to use the {tag_grouping}, where customers can choose between products of a certain "product group"
In this case, you can still use your exisitng product items, and just group them together, and put {tag_grouping} on your Product Detail Layout for customers to choose the items. e.g.

(there is a dropdown to choose the other products)

Can't print a photo multiple times on a single page

I just installed iLife 8 and am trying to print one 3X5 photo multiple times on a single page. When I consulted the help menu in iPhoto, I found what I thought was the answer. When I followed the instructions, I hit a snag because I don't have the Photos Per Page pop-up menu it references. Any ideas on how I can do this to save paper?
Here's what the help menu said:
Printing one photo multiple times on a single page
If you have a favorite photo you want to share with many people, you can print multiple copies of that photo on a single page.
To print one photo multiple times on a single page
Select the photo you want to print.
Click the Print button.
Select the paper size (such as letter-size or legal-size).
Select the print size (such as 2 x 3 or 4 x 6).
If you want to make the photo a custom size, select Custom.
Click the Customize button.
Click the Settings button.
Select “Multiple of the same photo per page” from the Photos Per Page pop-up menu.
iPhoto will zoom and crop the photo to fit the space available. To make a photo appear full-frame, Control-click the photo and choose “Fit Photo to Frame Size” from the menu that appears.
Click OK.
Click Print.

Well don't I feel stupid! I just installed iLife '08 and assumed that it would tell me right away if I needed any updates. I found and installed the needed updates (7.1.1), I got the right settings drop down menu to print multiples on one page. Thanks for your help

The title of my question is the title of the page in iPhoto 8 help.
"To print one photo multiple times on a single page"
It says (a bit shortened) 1. Select photo 2. Click print button 3. Select paper size 4. Select print size 5 Click Customize button 6 Click Settings button 7. Select "Multiple of same photo per page from the Photos Per Page pop-up menu. 8 Click OK 9 Click Print.
I can not find the pop-up menu referred to in Step 7. There are two "settings" buttons - neither produce a Photos Per Page pop-up menu. Settings appears if you click a double arrow to the right in the lower margin but only deals with font issues and "Print Settings" does not offer such a pop-up.
I am using Leopard on a PowerBook G4 and just bought and installed the newest iLife 8.

When you click on the Customize button there will be a Setting button in the next window. Click on it and in the drop down window that comes up will be the option to print multiple photos of the same photo per page.
Select that option and click OK. You'll get the spinning cursor for a few seconds as iPhoto creates the multiple copies on the page you selected. Be sure that the print size is small enough so that you can have multiple copies of it on the paper size you selected.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. How can I sort multiple tables on a single page as if they were one continuous table?

I have a single narrow column of numbers that cover multiple pages. I would like to do either of the following: break that long single column into multiple colums that fit on one page and are still able to be sorted in that arrangement OR sort the long column as it is (spread out over multiple pages) and then break that long sorted column down into multiple segments that can be placed onto a single page.
I have been sorting the long single column, then copy and pasting sections from the column onto a new page so that I can print them on a single page.
I am hoping there is a more elegant method to do this.

Sorting is one of the things that changed between Numbers '09 and Numbers 3. If you are on Mountain Lion I want to assume you are using '09. Is that true?
This will work in '09 and 3. Table one is a single column with entries 1-89.
A2 ==INDEX(Table 1 :: $A,ROW())
B2 =INDEX(Table 1 :: $A,ROW()+35)
C2 =INDEX(Table 1 :: $A,ROW()+70)
The formulas are filled down.
You can adjust the formulas in B and C to reflect how many rows fit on your page.

Autoflow multiple frames on a single page

This seems like an easy question, but I can't get it to work.
I have three text frames set up on a master page, linked 1->2, 2->3
I want to autoflow a document through the three frames, adding pages as necessary to the end of the document.
No matter which autoflow function I choose when placing a text document, InDesign fills two text frames and stops. It never fills the third frame on the page, and it doesn't add any pages.
If I load the cursor from the second frame and try to autoflow into the third, it just fills the third frame and stops. I think this is because I've already modified the master by filling the first two frames - is that why I can't flow more than two frames to begin with?
This in InDesign CS3 on a Mac, fwiw.

To recap: the issue seems to be that some older (i.e., Mac 2004) Word files do not import properly into InDesign CS3 when trying to autoflow placed text across multiple NARROW frames on a single page.
The workaround is to save the Word file in a newer version. I'm not sure if exporting an RTF from Word Mac 2004 will solve the problem.

(NOTE: I'm not hijacking this thread.)
I'm working on something similar - it seems simple, yet elusive to narrow down to the minimum necessary to reproduce it reliably. It's not a bug. All the effort to find the irreducible minimum cause reported here is what struck a note for me.
I'm wondering if anyone here who has a source file that fails in CS3, can test it in CS5. If it fails in CS5, it's kind of a bug, even though it seems dependent on the peculiarities of a rare file format from the past. Perhaps, it doesn't happen with every such file, only those with the long run of unhyphenated and unbreakable text that can't wrap and gets stuck at the thread's connection to the next frame. A super-niche bug.
It might be worthwhile to test by exporting the Word Mac 2004 file to RTF, then placing it. Some of us with long memories - both a blessing and an irritation - might remember that there was at least one version of Word that couldn't open some of its own files that were saved to supposedly compatible non-Word file formats.
If problem does persist in CS5, please report it as a bug.

Single row editing for multiple tables in a single page

Hi!
I have split a table with many many columns into more tables with a lower number of columns. There is an ID column (sequence generated) that is Primary Key common for all tables. Obviously, the relationship between these tables is 1 to 1, so its not about having to build master-detail pages.
What I need now is to edit all these tables in a single page: one single row from each table. The Automated Row Fetch & Automatic Row Processing (DML) processes used for the old table must be replaced by something else.
Is there a way to use in a single page more pairs of such processes for more tables?
I want to avoid manually writing processes with lot of PL/SQL code to handle row fetch & update.
Keep in mind that the page will have an ID item that can be used to identify unique rows in all my tables.

IMHO that is a very bad idea. There is nothing wrong with having many columns in a table. If you would like to split them to better "categorize" them, just create views on the table and expose different subsets of the columns.
I want to avoid manually writing processes with lot of PL/SQL code to handle row fetch & update.
That is unavoidable given how you have designed the underlying tables.
You could try creating a view that joins all the tables by the PK and creating a form based on that view. Then write a INSTEAD OF trigger on the view that "doles out" the DML on the view to each of the underlying tables.

Linking Multiple regions in a single page

Hi All,
I am a new user to Apex, and i need some help for my current requirement. i will appreciate any help from the members
i have a Master table and 5 child tables. i have created an interactive report in region1 for the master and 5 simple reports for the childs in region2 to region6 on a single page.
my requirement is that, if i filter the master table(interactive report on region1) on column fk_id which is a foreing key for all the childs (say fk_id=457), i would like to see childs to display detail records only for the fk_id=457.
is this possible in Apex?
i am also open to change the current design of all in 1 page to many page reports
The main requirement of this application is to maintain these 1 master and 5 child entities, have forms to add/delete/update rows and have reports with search capability
i am open to any suggestions which will accomplish this requirement.

Thanks for the info. but i need some more help to close this.
1. How do i set page item P1_Filter. i believe it should store the filed value of the filter being applied in Master.
2. The master in region1 is Interactive report and user can filter on any item. I need the child reports to filter only when the master is filtered on fk_id column and show all records for other filters on master.
in this case how do i set page item P1_Filter only for fk_id.
3. also if the report is not filtered on fk_id, then P1_Filter will be null and my child reports will not show any records. in default settings i can set only 1 value but i need to show all records if P1_Filter is null.
Any help is appreciated.

Preview in Yosemite has lost option to print multiple images on a single page?

I used to be able to select all thumbnails from sidebar in Preview, then print them on a single page - the options went from 2 up to 16 images per page I think. This seems no longer an option. Am I missing something?

I found it - expand the 'details' option in the 'print' window, then click on the drop down field which defaults to 'preview' (below the page orientation options) and select 'layout'. At that point you can select to print more than one image per page. Ok, then.

How to make multiple headers for a single pages doc

Hi,
I am trying to submit works of short fiction to markets such as Asimov's and Analog. Their online submission guidelines typically call out a format like the one described here;

This seems like a very reasonable thing to want to do with Pages.
I can match this format beautifully in Pages, with one exception. The format they are asking for has a word count in the header of page one, and on the subsequent pages a header that looks like "Story title / author name / page #". I can't figure out how to do this.
Question 1.) Is it possible to do this at all in Pages (iOS or OSX)?
Question 2.) If so, how?
Question 3.) Is there a ready-made template for this, for iOS, anywhere that I may download or purchase?

For the time being, I can only respond to Pages for iOS. OS X I'll need to check when I get home (or perhaps someone else will beat me to it). You may wish to post in the Pages for Mac forum for better exposure.
In Pages for iOS you are limited to a single header and footer. There is no Section structure so no way to do different headers/Footers for different pages (as you can do in MS word for example). To modify the Header and insert the text you want: Tap the Tools icon (wrench in upper right), then Document Set up. Tap in the header field, then tap and hold to use the menu to insert pages numbers, then type the text you need.
Quite possibly. Check the app store. Or you may be able to set this up in Pages for OS X and import it into Pages on the iPad. I'm not certain the sections will import however.
Also consider using a different app, such as word for iOS or any of the numerous other word processing apps available.

Problems printing one photo multiple times on a single page

Im trying to print multiple photos on a page so as to not waste paper. I have a 4 X 6 photo and want to print 2, 3X3 photos on the page. If you follow the HELP directions which are
Choose FILE > Print, Select paper Size, in my case 4X6. click on customize, Click Settings button then choose "Multiple of the same photo per page"
The "Multiple photo per page" option is grayed out. After troubleshooting it appears the software is telling me that two 3X3 photos cant fit in a 4X6 inch wide space and wont let me try. I was able to get around the problem by printing two 2.9 inch photos.
The software should be friendlier - Allow me to print 2 photos that are a exact fit to the paper. If the photo needs to be adjusted the software should do the adjustments in the background.
If Im having a problem here Im sure others are too.

No one but us users here - and I do not see a question in your post - just a rant and how you found a work around
Note that in general you DO NOT want software to change your specs - if you need a 3"x3" print you do not want the software to change it to 2.9" x 2.9" in the background - if it can not do what you requested then not doing it and having you adjust the request is the most appropriate path IMHO

Hmmm...
You should be able to do this. Perhaps some more detail:
1. Open both the files you want to include in the final. Examine the pixel dimensions. Leave the files open.
2. Create a new blank file that has pixel dimensions big enough to accommodate both existing images.
3. Click on one of the original images and then in the layers palette, click on the image layer and drag it onto the new blank file you just created. It should appear as a new layer in the layer palette for the new file. Repeat for the other original image.
You should now have three layers in the layers palette: The background (blank) layer of the new file; a layer with image 1 and a layer with image 2. You can drag the images around and resize them to get the final result you want.
