is there a way to run 3 projectors off of one white macbook
I want them to project onto 3 screens and I want the images to be the same on all three

I think you'll need some sort of video distribution amplifier, but it shouldn't be a problem. Here's one possibility, around $200US:

Multiple videos playing on multiple projectors from a G4 15" titanium

I want to play multiple DVD or Quicktime videos from my laptop or a MediaGate on multiple video projectors. I found an S-Video and a VGA distribution amplifier and I'm trying to decide which to go with. If I use the S-video I can connect the MediaGate directly into the s-video Distro Amp. In that I case I would need to access the MediaGate via the projector to 'play' the video. Anyone know if this can be done?
The second scenario is to connect my computer directly into the VGA Distro Amp. I wouldn't need the MediaGate in this case. But would I be able to detect the projectors plugged into the VGA Distro Amp as displays by my Mac G4 15" titanium laptop??

So are you trying to run several independent displays or just distrubute (mirror) a single display to all the projectors? If you are trying to run multiple different videos, I don't think that can be done. You might be able to run up to three using this, but I would do some homework and make sure it will work for what you have in mind.

You have to deautorize your computer from the ID and create a new ID only for your use.

Making Dir11 PC projector from Mac issue

I am using iMac 2007 (Intel) and Director 11. I am trying to make a PC projector from the Mac, with Buddy API and BuddyMenu Xtra in it. I followed the instructions of how to install these xtras that I downloaded from the buddy website. But when I tried to publish (make the projector), it says it cannot find Text Asset Xtra, baWin.xtra and Buddy Menu Xtra.xtra. I make sure that these xtras are in the configuration>xtras folder but the messages still show up. Why this problem shows up, I don't understand.

Multiple Projector Control?

I am interested in figuring out the least expensive way to project 4 different video streams on 4 different projectors from my Mac. Ideally I would like to run these off my 17" G4 laptop because it is small and I don't use it that much (the monitor on the laptop was broken and is now gone so I would need some other screen to control this computer). I also have a 15" MacBook Pro and a MacPro which currently has the NVidea 8800 GT.
I was thinking of adding an additional video card but if there is a less expensive way?

It is possible to control mulitple instruments on some buses (like GPIB). As for bringing up a GUI for each instrument, this is something that should be done in the programming language.

When I am using powerpoint, if I linger too long on a slide the projector looses the signal from my mac. How do I stop this?

I have a MacBook Pro with MacOX version 10.6.8
When I give a powerpoint presentation, if I linger too long on a slide, the projector looses the signal, moves to a grey screen and scrolls through its menu.
I have tried lengthening the time my Mac has before it goes to a screen saver. It is not that. Does anyone know how to keep this from happening?
It has happened with multiple projectors.

How to unify multiple iPhoto libraries from different Mac OS versions?

I am pretty good with the Mac itself and have been a long time user. I knew full well acumulating multiple iphoto libraries in older backups (intead of building up on one) was not a great idea but for several reasons I have had to live that way. Now is the time to clean it all up once and for all and I need some wisdom;
-I got my external drive as my new iphoto library now. It's being used, there are already albums in it and it's ready to accept older libraries.
-What I want is that the older libraries (about 10 of them from different Mac OS versions) to show up in the new external drive as they looked in iphot back then. As albums in other words.
-I do not want them imported in a single folder that's full of photos.

If you imported a previous iphoto library into your new one, it created a folder inside the iphoto called "imported".
That was the problem. One should never import one library into another. Only iPhoto 6 libraries and earlier can be imported into a library now. With the introduction of iPhoto 7 the library was changed from a folder to a package which can't be imported by the current iPhoto version.
To use an older library with a new iPhoto version one just opens that library with iPhoto and lets iPhoto update it as necessary. No importing necessary.
Also you can use the paid verson of iPhoto Library Manager to merge those additional libraries into your current working library (be sure to have a current backup of your current library before merging). What will be included are albums, Events, keywords, titles, descriptions, places. Books, slideshows, calendars in the other libraries will be copied over as just albums.

Director 11 - Publishing Mac Projector from Windows

When publishing a Mac projector file from Windows XP, the
files created do not function correctly when I test them on a
Macintosh computer (OS 10.5). Even though I publish as a projector,
the application is not self running and will display a message that
Shockwave is required to run the program. The program will run
properly on Macintosh computers that have Shockwave installed.
It seems that the files that are created in the Frameworks
folder (within the .app/Contents folder) have data in their
resource forks and this gets stripped off on the Windows system. I
thought Director 11 had resolved this issue so that you could
publish a cross-platform projector that would be ready-to-run.
If I move the .app folder to a Mac and replace the Frameworks
folder with a Frameworks folder that has been created with Director
11 on a Macintosh system, the program runs correctly without a
Shockwave install.
Has anyone else run into this, and if so, is there a fix for
it? I need to be able to publish both Windows projectors and Mac
projectors from my Windows system.

Do you know, if the D11.5MAC-generated projector works under MAC OS 9 / WIN95/98/NT/2000/Vista/7?
I feel sorry for you because of the UDF file system. Therefore I have no idea.
But apple has changed the way how files are connected with their applications. You can now (since 10.5) define that all files with a certain file extension has to be opened with a concrete program. But I also know that it doesn't work correctly in all cases. So may be it has something to do with that instead the way how the ROM is read with 10.5+ opposed to 10.4

Transferring info from a Mac with multiple accounts to a Mac with one

I have to install a new Tiger installation on my wife's iBook. I want to make my life easier, and her entire iBook has been backed up to her account on our shared PowerMac G5. The question I have is this - After I install Tiger on her iBook, I will be given the option to transfer information from another Mac. I want to transfer her information from her G5 partition, but I do I do that? If I start the G5 up in Firewire Target Disk Mode, how can I select only her account to use for the transfer? I haven't tried this yet, and maybe the solution will be obvious. But if not, can someone advise me how to do this?

The iSync does not quite fix what I'm seeking...a way to merge, not replace, all of my various e-mails that I send on different macs in my home. So, for instance, if I send an e-mail on one of them, I'd like to find that e-mail on my other two.

If you adopt the IMAP account approach first - as long as the IMAP account does not have the same user name and incoming mail server as the POP type account which will allow for creating the IMAP account with the POP account, you can transfer messages from the POP account's Inbox and Sent mailbox to the IMAP account's Inbox and Sent mailbox on each Mac.
There is no way to merge mailboxes. You can use the Import Mailboxes feature to import the account's Inbox and Sent mailbox from one Mac to another and then transfer messages from the imported mailboxes to the account's Inbox and Sent mailbox in Mail on each Mac.

Hello apple community, I have a question and really need an answer ASAP. basically I need to send photos from my mac to about 10 ipads at the same time without an Internet connection. The ipads are going to be on tables and the pictures will be added from the event to the mac throughout the day and need to be sent to the ipads as soon as they are entered into the mac but there will be no Internet connection, I will have an airport extreme but no Internet. any ideas?

How do I copy photos from my Mac to my iPad without deleting the ones that are there?

I understand how to sync photos from my iPhoto library to my iPad. I want to copy photos from my Mac to the iPad without syncing, because syncing deletes everything on the iPad that isn't included in my sync selections. In addition,I have several iPhoto libraries and want to copy photos from each of them to the iPad. A further issue is that apparently photos can be synced from only one computer to the iPad -- how would I copy photos from a different computer? (What happens when I buy a new Mac?) I am extremely experienced with Mac, iPhoto/Aperture, iPad, etc. A year or two ago I transferred 1000 photos to the iPad but I don't remember how, and it was probably done with my previous Mac. Now I just want to add some recent photos without deleting the ones that are there. Bottom line: is there a way to add photos to an iPad without syncing and losing what's there?

You can still sync the photos and keep the photos that are already on the device. You have to include all of the albums or events in the pictures folder that you sync from. If you are using iPhoto, select that in the Sync Photos from drop down menu and then select all of the albums or events that you want to sync. Make sure to check Selected Albums, events, faces and automatically include (no events). Using that option will allow you to choose exactly which albums and events to sync.
You have to remember that all photos must be included in every sync so you cannot sync photos from iPhoto today and then try to sync photos from another folder tomorrow, or you will erase all of the photos that were synced from iPhoto. You need to maintain one main Photos syncing folder for the photos that you want to transfer to the iPad. You can have subfolders within that one main folder and you can selectively sync those subfolders. You just have to place all of the photos that you want to sync into one main iPad syncing photos folder.
There are WiFi transfer apps that allow you to transfer photos to the iPad without having to sync with iTunes. I use this one. This app (and others like it) will allow you to use multiple computers to transfer photos.

Can I copy my iTunes from one Mac to another to a distant location?

I have 2 homes one in NYC and the other in upstate NY. I have multiple Macs at both locations all using Snow Leopard and the latest version of iTunes(9). I only have 1 iTunes library I maintain at the upstate location and have to bring my iPod to the NYC location to play my music. Can I not copy my iTunes library to the NYC location using Home Sharing or using some other method? I often forget to bring my iPod and am left without my music.

All that info is found in your user/library folder, I just did a 60 machine rollout and copied all those settings from user/library, just be forewarned that if you upgrade software those setting will not take on the machine, for example Adobe CS 3,4 will not usable by CS5. let us know if you need more help. Also make sure you copy most of your preferences in the user/library/prefences folder.
Note: If you are using an identical backup with all apps and user settings, you can just copy all folders from user to your new home folder. Remember that only if the image or backup is identical to your production OS.
