Multiple proxy.pac configuration (one per SSID) setup with profile (mobileconfig files) problem

Hello,
I configure with the server profile manager a profile with two hidden SSID (WPA2 enterprise and certificat).
one internal with a proxy PAC configuration (automatic/ proxy.pac URL ...)
and the second one external without a proxy PAC configuration.
when I swith from the first one to the second, the Wifi connection is OK,
but the proxy.pac configuration is not set.
I should do a manual proxy configuration (networksetup -setautoproxyurl Wi-Fi  http://.....)
I try with lion 10.7.4 and mountain lion 10.8.1 and I experience the same problem.
please could  you help to solve this problem?

  • Multiple iTunes Match accounts (one per Windows profile)?

    Hi,
    Forgive me if this subject had been covered before (I did have a quick dig), but is it possible to have seperate iTunes Match accounts, one per Windows profile (on the same box)?
    Our Windows 7 system has multiple users and we don't want to merge music into one library just to get Match working.  Is it the case that it's limited by MAC address / physical hardware?  (I don't want to go down the route of having one network interface per windows profile either!)
    If somebody from Apple reads this, are there any plans to support this future iTunes releases?  It would bring you more revenue with a household willing to pay for more than one subscription...
    Many thanks,
    Matt.

    You can authorize a single copy of iTunes to up to five iTunes Store accounts. So yes, you can have both your account and one for your daughter in the same system.

  • Multiple icons for mailboxes, one per account?

    Hi. I'm new to the iPhone and these boards have been (as usual) incredibly helpful for getting me situated with my latest Apple toy/life-changing device. Here's something I haven't found an answer for here--but then again, I'm not sure if I'm even wording it properly.
    I have 2 e-mail accounts, one for work, the other for home. When I look at my home screen, and see that I have a new message, I can't tell which mailbox it is in. Is there a way that I can do that? Can I, for example, put up 2 icons, one per mail account? Or is there something that would differentiate which mailbox has which (i.e. a different color or a couple of bubbles with numbers; I'm thinking of that software Dockstar that I've seen for Mac Mail)?
    Thanks!!

    Sorry, that is not an iPhone feature. I agree it would be useful. http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

    Can I reconfigure iPads using Apple Configurator after previously being setup within iTunes?  Yes.
    Will VPP Codes be able to be reused?  From iTunes - No.
    Can I restore to a backup made in iTunes?  You can back up an iPad that was set up in iTunes in Configurator and use that as back up in Configurator.

  • Why is the HTM file of a page saved in FF also being deleted, if one deletes the subfolder with the corresponding files?

    Alright, let me explain: When I'm saving a web page in FF, this will create a .HTM file as well as a subdirectory with matching filename plus suffix "-Dateien" (German version - I'd guess in the English version it would probably be "-files" or maybe "-data" instead...). Anyway, now if I delete that subdirectory (including all its content) with the Windows Explorer (I'm still using XP, btw), it'll also delete the corresponding .HTM file in the parent directory. Question is: Why/how does it do that? Could that be some hard or symbolic link phenomenon that escapes me?
    Greetings from Munich & thanks in advance!
    Manfred

    That is a Windows feature called connected files that connects the main file and the folder with the other files for certain file operations and HTML files among others.<br />
    If you delete one of them then the other is deleted automatically (the same for Copy).

  • How to configure iPhoto in my setup with external hard drive

    Hi there,
    I've been digging around for answers but I'm still not clear on what the right path is.
    I have a new MacBook Air. For the obvious reason (space) I don't want to keep my photos on it. I have a functioning MacBook with a dead backlit screen. I can run it easily with an extended monitor.  I have a new 2 Terrabyte Seagate Go Flex Home external drive that is my Time Machine backup.
    I'm thinking that I should be able to have all my photos on the external hard drive and access them from my MacBook Air.   But I don't know what the "best" or "easiest" or good route is to follow.
    1) Can I move the my current MacBook iphoto library to the external Seagate Go Flex HD? ? There's an issue of the right formatting, yes? How would I know?
    2) Should I skip using Iphoto and simply store photos? I don't love that idea.
    3) Should I keep my old photos on the MacBook and access them from my Macbook Air? I have a 500 gig drive on that machine.  If so, I need to make sure it never goes to sleep, yes?
    4) If I do that can I set up the Air so that the photos go tot he MacBook?
    4) Macbook has iPhoto '08. The Air has iPhoto '11. Is that an issue?
    Is this all easier than I'm thinking? Or is is complicated?
    THanks for your help,

    You can move your iPhoto library to any directly connected hard drive that is formatted Mac OS extended (Journaled)
    You can NOT share a single volume between a Time Machine backup and any other dynamic files ike the iPhoto library - TM continues to fill the drive until it is full and at that time iPhoto would quit working
    You can not share a library with different versions of iPhoto
    IMHO using a MBP as the drive for a MBA wouod not work well and might cause problems
    My suggestion is to move your liberary to a new external drive -
    Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
    And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
    And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive
    And create a new library on your MBA for protable use and for current photos and use iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ -  to move photos between the iPhoto library on the EHD and the MBA

  • No of Concurrent Sessions Per User  Mismatch with profile settings

    Hi
    DB Version Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production
    OS RHES 5U2
    I created a profile MYPROFILE and set the value of Concurrent Sessions (Per User) to 30. DB was bounced after creating the profile. I made this profile default for a particular user "MYUSER". I verified that by querying DBA_USERS (select profile from dba_users where username like 'MYUSER') I checked v$session with that particular user after sometime and noticed that it was showing 34 sessions. Some ACTIVE and some INACTIVE.
    My question is, if I have set the maximum limit of concurrent sessions per user to 30 in myprofile and made this the default profile for MYUSER, then how come i am still able to see more than 34 sessions of myuser regardless of the status? I am not sure if this is relevant or not but the IDLE TIME is set to 15 minutes.
    Thank you for your help

    Thank you for your helpDid you set the parameter resource_limit=true ? You must do it before you test sessions_per_user. You can do so like the following,
    alter system set resource_limit=true;After this again try and post the feedback.

  • Dynamic orchestration using multiple proxy services

    The project I am currently on is using ALSB for service orchestration. For a given orchestration, we would have one orchestration proxy (the control center), that synchronously calls a sequence of alsb proxy services.
    Each proxy service in this second level fronts one or more business service calls to perform a specific operation ("Create Account", "Create User", etc.).
    So far so good, all this can work just fine (and much of it is already working in production). The trick that I am trying to make happen currently, is to dynamically load the list of second-level proxies and loop through the list to trigger calls.
    Loading a list of proxy paths/names is no problem, I have many options there. It's when I try to take that list and loop through it, calling each proxy on the list that I am stuck.
    Unfortunately, it appears I could have three routing choices and none of them work:
    1. Service Callouts only work with a static service name, not a dynamic one (so even if I had a for-each loop around a Service Callout action, it doesn't do me any good).
    2. Dynamic Publish actions are asynchronous only
    3. Dynamic Routing actions inside Route nodes work, except that only one can exist per proxy service.
    Am I missing anything? Is there some way to get ALSB to accept dynamic synchronous invocation of multiple proxy services from one orchestration proxy service?
    Meghan Pietila

    A way of Invoking a dynamically chosen proxy service (PS) synchronously could be the following.
    Service Callout actions are synchronous, so ALSB will block in PS2 (PS=proxy service) when it does the invocation of PS1.
    Assuming the following very simple scenario (I hope to have understood correctly your case):
    OPS = orchestration proxy service
    case1: OPS -> PS1 -> PS3 -> ...
    case2: OPS -> PS1 -> PS2 -> ...
    where each PSi calls one or more business service (I suppose that the business services called in each PSi are called in a predefined order), so what is changing from one case to another is the sequence of PSi to be called.
    I've setup the following ALSB project:
    - OPS proxy services
    - PS1 .. PS4 proxy services
    - a proxy called 'step'
    - a xquery called 'routing'
    The idea is to call, from OPS, another proxy (the 'step' proxy) in a synch way (service callout) passing the information of what proxy should be called dynamically.
    In the 'step' proxy then I create the <route><service> XML fragment, for the Dynamic Route action. This <route><service> XML fragment will point to the configuration of yet another proxy service (PSx), that is the PSx that I want to call.
    One limitation is that I assume that your OPS always calls for example 2 proxies which name is resolved dynamically.
    About the xquery:
    <routing>
    <case name="1">
    <node>PS1</node>
    <node>PS3</node>
    </case>
    <case name="2">
    <node>PS1</node>
    <node>PS2</node>
    </case>
    </routing>
    OPS performs the following steps:
    - chooses what is the case: 1 or 2
    - does 2 service callout to the proxy called 'step' passing each time the correct node to be called
    $routing/case[@name=data($case)]/node[1]
    $routing/case[@name=data($case)]/node[2]
    In the 'step' proxy I do a dynamic publish to desidered PS:
    <route xmlns="http://www.bea.com/wli/sb/context">
    <service isProxy="true">{ $proxyToBeInvoked }</service>
    </route>
    where the proxyToBeInvoked variable is built from the node received by the caller.
    I've used this approach in a solution currently under development but I've found some problems when I want to receive back in OPS the error raised by any PSi: I'm able to catch the error but I'm not able to receive back the detailed error like in an usual stack trace.
    I hope that could be useful.

  • Using multiple com.apple.configurator files

    I have heard that this can be done but I have found no literature on this. We have multiple techs across multiple campuses and I would like them to be able to share their com.apple.configurator folders in the event that one gets a device that is managed by a different machine. Can anyone point me in the right direction to a "How-To?"

    This type of setup is not supported by Configurator. You would be better served by supervising the device with Configurator and then manageing them with Profile Manager or another MDM server.

  • Lync 2013 client doesn't read proxy.pac file Lync exclusions

    Hi all,
    I have a very annoying issue where by the Lync 2013 client ignores the proxy.pac file exclusions set below:
    (host == "lync.test.domain") || (host == "lyncdiscoverinternal.test.domain") ||
    (host == "lyncwacdca.test.domain") ||
    (host == "lyncwacdcb.test.domain") ||
    (host == "lyncwebintdca.test.domain") ||
    (host == "lyncwebintdcb.test.domain")
    IE is set to use automatic configuration script of
    http://proxy.test.domain:8083/proxy.pac This file can be reached through and IE browser, downloaded and it's syntax read.
    If I set my proxy server and exclusions manually within IE9 then they are adhered to. That is Lync 2013 is able to read.
    My thinking: that some application may be iterferring with Lync 2013 getting to
    http://proxy.test.domain:8083/proxy.pac or reading in the exclusions set within the file.
    If I enter https://lync.test.domain into the browser URL search field I can see that it is being sent straight out to the proxy as opposed to bypassing it.
    Does anyone have an example of their proxy.pac exclusion set for Lync 2013 just in case my syntax is not looking the best.
    Cheers

    Update to this issue - solution was to move the proxy exclusions to the top of the proxy.pac
    Outcome resulted in Windows WinHTTP processing the the Lync proxy exclusions prior to the Lync.exe firing during logon. I don't believe you would see this in a typical infrastructure. Since initially looking into this issue I  have been
    able to show through packet traces, large periods of latency in delivery of desktop profile items due to backend profile storage issues.
    In eddition this moving the exclusions to the top of the pac file I made use of substrings. I don't believe the use of substrings is any better or worst, but just easier for others to understand what the exclusion allows specifically.
    Example of pac exclusion now:
    if (url.substring(0,39) == "http://lyncdiscoverinternal.testdomain.") { return "DIRECT"; } //matches 31 characters including last . or period
    I entered similar entries for all required exclusions. The result was Lync signing in within 6 seconds as opposed to the 40 second (through the user of legacy SRV records).

  • Proxy.pac and authentication

    Hello everybody.
    I got a couple of iMacs (from OS X 10.6 up to 10.8) running in an environment in which there is Windows AD and the Windows clients use an http proxy with NTLM authentication. The config is pulled from the clients by using the DHCP option 252, which contains the URL to the proxy.pac in this form: http://192.168.50.2:8080/proxy.pac
    Now my questions...
    How do I set things up on the iMacs, so that they pull the proxy.pac and so that it works with Safari, Chrome and Firefox as well?
    As there is authentication (NTLM-based) involved: the iMacs are not joined to the AD, but the only user working on each iMac logs in with the same credentials as in the AD (same user/pass).
    Any help will be very much appreciated.
    Thanks and regards,
    Flavio.

    WPAD has been reported not to work with AD servers. I suggest you enter the PAC URL in the network settings under Automatic Proxy Configuration.

  • Multipe discussion boards within one site collection, each with their own email?

    So we use several list servs and these have become an issue and the data is lost discussion based on you cannot collectively house and search for information and attachments.
    I have a few questions that maybe you could help in my research:
    1) Is SharePoint discussions capable of having multiple discussion boards in one site collection, each with their own email address to replace the function of a list serv (so at a minimum content can be organized, with attachments available, and replies
    can be seen/sent via email.)
    2) From an attachment perspective; what is the best way to ensure virus blocking in the above scenario IF the above scenario is able to be done
    3) Is there OOTB functionality here or is there a recommended third party product? (I am not looking to build out a custom solution if at all possible to avoid that)
    any thoughts or input here would be greatly appreciated!
    ~Kat

    1) - Yes, discussion boards are just specially formatted lists and yes, each discussion board can have their own email address.
    2) -  Blocked file types can be configured in CA and I believe that SP will strip out any emails with blocked file types attached (not 100% on that, probably 95% sure)
    3) All out of the box (assuming SP will block the attachments as I assumed in #2

  • Multiple Vlans Per SSID

    Hi
    We are just putting in a new Controller - 5500 type
    We are using a WCS .
    Someone has raised the issue of whether we can have multiple vlans
    per SSID - as otherwise we may have very large broadcast domains
    due to the overall design being to have  Maybe 3 SSIDs
    Guest
    Staff
    Engineering
    I think in SWAN we could get away with dynamic vlans.
    We would like to have multiple vlans in each SSID to avoid the above.
    Can we do this in the new setup.
    Kind Regards
    Steve

    Hi Steve,
    yes it works just the same.
    Enable AAA override on the controller and have interfaces configured for each vlan. Then the ACS can simply push the vlan depending on the user authentication. Users are then split in separate vlans.
    Another way of doing is to group APs. You can have a group of APs serving SSID Guest in vlan 1, Employee in vlan 2 and another group of APs serving the same SSIDs but in vlan 3 and 4. It's "per-user" vlan load balancing or "geographic" vlan load balancing.
    However, broadcast domains should not be a major concern in wireless as broadcasts are blocked by default. The WLC will proxy for ARP and DHCP.
