Multiple repository roles?

How do you create multiple repository roles within Designer 6i release 4? Within RAU, as the repository admininstrator, I find the default role PUBLIC created with a versioned repository. The help file states under the display area, "list of the user roles available to assign to users." None of my database roles show up and the public role is not a real "database" role. Furthermore, how do you associate even the public role with the users? Thoughts, suggestions?

Craig,
Sorry, roles, other than 'public' are not supported in 6i. They are planned in the future.

  • OBIEE 11g issue - same user assigned to the multiple application role

    Hi All,
We are facing an issue when assigning a user to the multiple application role and applying the data level filter on the different column of the same table.
For example, we have a table Department with three columns Department No, Department name, Department location.
Application Role A1 and A2 are created.
Data Level security Applied on the application role A1: Department Name='Finance'
Data Level Security Applied on the application role A2: Department location='US'
The user "User1" is created in LDAP and is assigned to both the Application roles A1 and A2.
When logged in with "User1", none of the filters of Role A1 or A2 is applied in the report. If this user is assigned to only one role, either A1 or A2, then the filter is applied. It seems the filter will not be applied if a user belongs to multiple roles with data filter applied on the same table across these roles.
Please reply if anyone has faced similar issue.

    Hi All,
Regarding the above issue to update the analysis we came up that the user if assigned to the multiple group with the data filter applied on the same column of the table is getting an *"OR"* join.
We had a requirement to get an "AND" in the query condition. Please let us know if any one faced the issue and the resolution of the same.

  • Multiple business roles and org data determination

    Hello together,
we are having an issue with the organizational data determination. Some users have multiple business roles in different sales organizsations. This means, they are assigned to several units in our org modell.
This users can select the business role after the login screen. But this selection doesn't affect the org data determination (rule: ORGMAN_12).
For example. My user is assigned to 4 different org units. After the login i select a role. In debugging i can see this role, but the system selects only the first role and not the role i've selected after the login.
Is there any other rule which follows the select business role? Or can i assign one user only to one unit?
    Best regards
    Sascha

    Thanks for your reply!
The problem is, that i need exactly the org unit according to the selected business role at the beginning. Because we have in one company different distribution channel (e.g. 10, 20, 30). And depending on this the user can create an business partner in 10, 20 or 30. So, in our case we have some users assigned to 10 AND 20 AND 30. For each channel we have one role.
Our org modell looks like this:
    company XYZ
    --channel 10 ( role 'salespro10')
    mustermann-m
    --channel 20 ( role 'salespro20')
    mustermann-m
    --channel 30 ( role 'salespro30')
    mustermann-m
If the user mustermann-m select salespro10 he should be able to create a business partner in channel 10. And if the user select the salespro20 he should be able to create the bp in channel20.
But if you use the RH_STRUC_GET i get ALL assigment.
    Best regards,
    Sascha

  • Multiple PFCG Roles to a user and one business role

    Hello SAP CRM Experts,
we are facing a problem then I need your help.
The external user can access the CRM through three distinct business roles.
However, for each of these business roles, there are specific access
rules configured in three different PFCG profiles.
In the registration of the user (SU01), are assigned the three profiles
PFCG because the user must have access to three different business roles.
However, for one of the profiles the ability to modify the document
service order is blocked and for the other is allowed to modify this
    document.
Is there a customizing where I can associate the PFCG role to the
business role, and then, when the user logs into the system, it
identified the business role that he accessed the PFCG profile associated.
However, this configuration is not working, and did not solve the problem.
It seems to me that there is a merge of all the permissions that the user
has, and is not being considered the PFCG role associated with the
    specific business role.
This is really correct? The merge permissions occurs?
    Best regards,
    Diogo Lupinari

Yes, thatu2019s correct.  When user is assigned multiple PFCG roles, all authorizations are in play.

  • How to develop and deploy multiple worker roles in single azure cloud services?

    I am Manikandan, From Myeasydocs.com.
We have developed our application as web projects.  Now we are going to move to azure cloud services, i have successfully migrated our application in cloud services and it worked fine. I am having difficulties with back ground task. i have nearly 12
schedule tasks in our applications. I need assist on creating multiple worker role creation and deployment.
Is there is any site on explaining the worker role process in details?
    Thanks in advance .. !!

    Hi,
In Worker role, Applications hosted within worker roles can run asynchronous, long-running or perpetual tasks independent of user interaction or input. It is a service component that is useful for generalized development, and may perform background processing
for a web role. A worker role is frequently used for long-running tasks that are non-interactive, but you can host any type of workload.
I suggest you to follow the below article which explains about Creating and Deploying of Web Roles and Worker Roles in Azure Cloud Service using Visual Studio.
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/jj618299.aspx
    Hope this helps !

  • Integration of multiple business role profiles in a single Z role profile

    Hi experts,
I want to see all the work center available in service pro role and interaction center role profiles in a single Z business role prfole on the WEB UI.
Please advise me the possibilities of the integration of multiple business role profiles in a single Z role profile(Example like Administratoru2019s profile).
If it is possible what would be the approach please suggest me.
    Thanks in advance
    sameera

Copy one of this 2 roles which you want to use in Z role and then manualy assign additional workcenters and links to this Z role which you are still missing.
There is no standard predelivered admin role which would have all workcenters.

  • Adding Single Role to Multiple Single Roles

    All
I am planning to add individual Role to Multiple Composite Roles
Is there any quickest way to do it?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks in advance.

You can definitely play around with CAT script and accomplish it.
If you have Mercury QTP, then its very easy to do that using custom scripts.

  • Multiple connections/roles on same machine for same site?

As a Contribute CS3 Administrator (newbie; just converted a
Dreamweaver site to work with Contribute), can I set up multiple
connections to the same site? I want to test the Publisher role and
Writer role on my development machine before creating connnection
keys for these roles for the customer who owns the site (and is
waiting with new Contribute licenses and eager but idle staff)?
I just want to be able to test my site under these roles
(using different passwords and username/email addresses), but there
seems no obvious way to do this as Contribute seems to allow me to
set up only one connection per URL, and also seems to want to wipe
out my existing Admin connection if I come on in another role (from
a connection key generated for a Publisher or Writer role).

    Two problems with that:
    1. Tried it by creating a connection key for a Publisher
role, but invoking the key zaps the old connection, so I no longer
have Administrator access without deleting then re-creating the
connection and setting myself up as Admin again.
    2. When I went into the (new) connection as Publisher, it
would let me connect and see pages, but would NOT allow editing of
any pages (even though I had specifically looked when originally
defining the role to make sure all editing privileges were -- or
    appeared to be -- intact).

  • How to set MULTIPLE repository variables using presentation variables

    Hi,
I need to pass multiple values from presentation variable to repository.
A brief about report design :
I have two repository variables - from_dt and to_dt which are defaulted to some values from a database table and are editable by the user.
I display these default date values on the dashboard. Plus there are two dashboard date prompts allowing user to enter a date range different from what is displayed by the from_dt and to_dt. The dates entered by user are assigned to presentation variables pv_from_dt and pv_to_dt.
If user specifies a different date range then these date values are to be passed to a stored procedure which is called from the Connection Pool --> Connection Script Tab --> Execute before query. This procedure will do some calculations and populate a global temporary table before running the report.
    Problem :
Now in the presentation server, in the Advanced tab, in the Prefix section, when i try to write something like this:
    SET VARIABLE from_dt = '@{pv_from_dt}';
    SET VARIABLE to_dt = '@{pv_to_dt}';
I get the foll error :-
    Error Codes: YQCO4T56:OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC:OI2DL65P
Odbc driver returned an error (SQLExecDirectW).
    State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 27002] Near <SET>: Syntax error [nQSError: 26012] . (HY000)
I tried all possible permutations and combinations
    SET VARIABLE from_dt = '@{pv_from_dt}',SET VARIABLE to_dt = '@{pv_to_dt}'; --- gave same error
    SET VARIABLE from_dt = '@{pv_from_dt}' SET VARIABLE to_dt = '@{pv_to_dt}'; -- gave same error
How do we assign values to multiple reporsitory variables... ???
    Thanks
    Nusrat

    Hi,
    I wrongly referred to the variables as "repository" variables. Both variables are Session variables. For testing i added a column field in the report with source as the session variable - VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.from_dt). In the Prefix section i assigned a literal value - SET VARIABLE from_dt='01-JAN-2012';
When report is run, the literal value gets displayed.
The idea to update a session variable, from dashboard using presentation variable, i got from the following URL.
    Go to http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/category/obi-ee-plus/page/11/
and see the section "Oracle BI EE 10.1.3.3/2 – Updating Session Variables from Dashboards using Presentation Variables"
    Thanks

  • Local Repository - Role "Monitor"

    Hello,
we added 2 local repositories to our server.
when I login as administrator I am able to see all local repositories and all jobs.
Every repository was created by one user.
    For example:
    User A - Rep A
    User B - Rep B
I added User A and User B to the system, both with user role "monitor"
When User A logins to "Central Management Console" he is able to see Rep A and Rep B.
Is it normal that every Monitor - User is able to see all local Repositories.

Yes, the Management Console does not have object-level-security just role security (yet). Either you are monitor user and can "monitor" all jobs or not. No way to tell that this user here should be able to use that job only.

  • Multiple repository files

Hi to everybody, my question is :
We need to have multiple repositories due to multiple database source.
We have (at least) 2 Oracle databases with differents and not mergeable data. That is, customer does not want to see mixed data from the sources.
My answer is : two repositories ! In the NQSConfig.ini file I insert two rows with the repository files, but I always see the first one in the Answer subject area. How can I switch from one to the other ?
Let say me "Yes, you can !" or give me a solutions ...

  • Creating multiple BP Roles automatically after replicated BP to CRM

    Hi All,
We are working on CRM 5.0 and ECC 6 as a back end system.
As per our requirement we want the clarification for the below scenario.
We are downloading Employee records from ECC to CRM.After replicating Employee records we want to add Consumer Role to every employee record in CRM. I know we can maintain multiple roles manually for a BP in CRM, But we want to add this Consumer role to every Employee record automatically.
Can anybody please explain me how can we achieve this scenario.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    -Rahul.

    Hi,
You can create a role group in CRM system with roles Employee and consumer. If you maintain this role group the two roles wil be maintained automatically.
For defining role groups you can go to SPRO transaction.
    Thanks and warm regards,
    Smita.

It seems the Iviews work for a while and then after some time everything gives up? Very confounding
And yes we are using standard Iviews (search, Result and detail)
    Thanks

  • Target Schema Registered to Multiple Repository

    Hello Everybody,
We have OWB 10G2 installed on a linux server and some target schemas are associated to the OWB repository. Now We want to create another OWB repository on Windows server but would like to use the same target schema which the other OWB repository is using.
I was going through the OWb istallation guide and it says "One target schema associated with multiple repositories, however, is not permitted".
Is there any other way out to do this...and incase we need to register other schema as target schema to the new repository..Is it compulsory to have that target schema on the same database on which the repository is installed.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sunil

    Hi Sunil,
a target schema is always assiciated to one repository. That repository is the runtime environment for your mappings.
You may have two repositories for development on different machines and deploy the the same target, but I would not recommend it.
But it is common the other way round: you have one repository on machine A where you do the development of your mappings, then you deploy to a target on machine B (for testing) and to a target on machine C (production).
See the manual for different architecture scenarios.
    Regards,
    Carsten.
