Multiple Rollovers on One Image

Little help... I am a photographer trying to design a
website... i've got most of it down, but I'm having one problem I
can't figure out. As my main menu, I would like to use a picture of
mine that has a bunch of framed prints laying on a table. When each
individual picture is clicked, it leads to a different portfolio
pertaining to that picture. I have all that working, but I'd like
to create a rollover when the cursor is placed over each print
displaying the name of the portfolio. So for example, the cursor
would be placed over a framed print of a picture of italy, the word
"italy" would appear, then when clicked, would link to my Italy
portfolio. I've got the hotspots assigned to each print and the
links work fine, i just need to know how to create the rollovers.

Photoshop crashes while using multiple windows with one image

Has anyone else encountered the following problem:
Photoshop CS4 crashes sooner or later when working with multiple windows with one image (window->arrange->new window for...).
I remember having same problem since CS2. Is this a bug in Photoshop or am I having a bad luck?
Technical specifics:
Ps CS4, iMac, 21.5, 10.6

Don't know. I haven't heard of other people having that problem.
Do you have a crash report I could look at?
Or have you attached your email to crash reports sent to Adobe and can you tell me the date on one of them?

How to Open Multiple Files into One Image with a Format Plug-in?

Basic overview question:
I'm interested in creating a format plug-in that will open multiple image files and combine them, then provide one image to Photoshop for further work.
1. Can an .8bi plug-in receive notification of multiple files to be opened? (Not unlike Camera Raw). Or does one absolutely need to use an .8ba Import plug-in to do this? I would prefer .8bi.
2. Assuming yes, could the latter parts of the plug-in interface be used to open just one combined image?

1) An import plugin (8bi) doesn't get file information - it has to provide it's own open dialog. Only a file format plugin gets a file, but only one at a time. (ACR has some special magic)
You might want to take a look at the PhotoMerge and MergeToHDR setups with a script driving a plugin.

Multiple rollovers in one project

Hello!
I am working on a project that requires multiple rollovers and I cannot determine the best way to do what I want it to. I want to be able to rollover a shape and have a text box appear as well as lines connecting other dots. Then, as the lines are still showing, I want to be able to move to another shape, click it, and have it take me to a web page with a job description. I feel like this should be possible, but have spent hours and hours with no success and no ideas.
Here's a view of what I want (kind of):
I want the user to hover over the main dot, words and lines appear, and each dot connection is clickable and leads the user to a separate page.

You need to be able to trigger an Advanced Action on mouseover of an object. This Advanced Action can be set to SHOW any number of slide objects that start out as hidden.
There are two ways to trigger an Advanced Action with a mouseover event this in Captivate.
One way is by using a rollover slidelet and using the Roll Over event of the slidelet hit area. You can move the part of the slidelet that normally appears on rollover somewhere off stage where it doesn't get seen. All you really need the slidelet for is to trigger the Advanced Action.
The other method is to use the Infosemantics Event Handler widget. It allows you to trigger Advanced Actions on rollover or rollout of any object on the slide. (It also allows you to use many other mouse events to trigger actions.)

Compiling multiple pictures within one image?

My wife uses her iMac for her work, and she's trying hard to compile multiple pictures within one .jpeg image. Is this possible with *iPhoto 2*, or are there any recommended (free if possible) downloads available to acheive this?

Using multiple snapshots of one image

I am trying to create a collage using mutiple snapshots of one image (essentially different colours). Having difficulty using the snapshots? New to Lightroom today, so hopefully there is a simple solution.

You could try using virtual copies. I often make a VC for a black and white version; so it would work the same for your different colors. You create a VC simply by selecting a thumbnail using the menu:
Photo >> Create Virtual Copy
You can make as many as you wish, and they do not duplicate the files on your hard drive – they are stored in the catalog as metadata.

How do i create multiple triggers in one image?

Hi there,
I have an image which consists of multiple sections. (It's a circle with pie-pieces: see attachment)
I want every segment of the image to be a seperate trigger: when you hover or click other segments will turn gray and a text will appear.
At first i thought that it wouldn't be possible, but then i saw this website http://pmkwilliams.com/# (i know it's made with edge, i saw it in a presentation on youtube)
Can anyone help me? All the help is welcome! And a link to a tutorial would be grant.
And i want to appologise if this is asked before: i didn't know how you would call such a feature. English is not my motherlanguage...

I just inserted a part of the code, but because i can't seem to find the way the "american map animateproject" works i find it hard to see what it is i have to do.

3: But it also says '<area id="California" shape="poly" title="California region:West" Does this mean that when you hover, you'll see this text? i could delete this then?

The idea was that when you click on one segment of the circle the others would go gray and a text will appear on the right.
I realise that maybe this is to difficult for me: i've never done javascript, so if you think this is too much...

Can't spawn multiple VMs from one image simultaneously?

When creating new VMs from an image it seems that the image is locked during VM creation. This in turn blocks the creation of further images
example timeline:
start creating vm 1 from image 1
start creating vm 2 from image 1
vm 2 creation fails because image 1 is locked by vm 1
vm 1 creation finishes
vm 2 can now be created because image 1 is no longer locked.
The exact error message shown is:
Windows Azure is currently performing an operation on this deployment that requires exclusive access.
I have created a template Image and wish to spawn a large cluster (>100 nodes) from it. However, as the creation is sequential this is impractical in terms of start up time.
Is there a fix/workaround for this?

I can spawn as many VM's as i like form a single image as long as i do it in sequence. However what i cannot do is spawn 2 simultaneously from the same image. If i have an image named "myImage" i cannot instruct Azure to create a VM (e.g. "vm1") from myImage
and then start the creation of a different VM ("vm2") from myImage before the first one has been created.

As a workaround for this i tried copying a single .vhd many times and creating many images("myImage1", "myImage2","myImage3" etc.) from them. However an issue occurred with this also as it seems the Add-AzureImage cmdLet creates an exclusive operation that
does not allow me to register images in parallel.

Multiple hyper links one image?

I have a KeyNote that I've built as an 8.5x11 document that I'm hoping to export as a PDF with multiple hyper links. Is this possible?
Or do I have to have an individule image for each hyperlink?

You can place as may hyperlinks on a slide as you require.
Each hyperlink must be attached to an individual object or text box on the slide.

How to print multiple copies of same image (with specific fixed dimensions) on single page

I am using Photoshop Elements 10 on Win 7 PC. I am trying to print multiple copies of one image on a single 8.5x11 sheet of paper? The images are artwork for buttons (to be used in button-making machine) so the dimensions must be exact on the duplicated images. When I select Picture Package, the images are resized to fit the dimensions in the picture package. When I select Contact Sheet, the images are resized to fit the number of columns I selected. Neither is acceptable. How can I repeat the same image on a single piece of paper without having the system re-size the image? I know that I can manually create a new PSE file and manually insert the images into this file. This is what I have been doing as a work-around. But I would hope there is a better/faster way.

A variation of hatstead's method where the pictures are precisely aligned:
1. Add the picture to the blank file as hatstead described. Use the Move tool to position the picture in the upper left corner.
2. Duplicate the layer. Use the arrow keys (NOT the mouse) to move the new layer to the right.
3. Repeat step 2 until the row is filled:
4. Merge Down the 3 layers into one. Alternatively, link the 3 layers and do a Merge Linked as in this example. The end result is the pictures in the row are on one layer:
5. Duplicate the layer and use the arrow keys to move this down to the 2nd row.
6. Repeat step 5 to create additional rows.
7. Finally, to center the whole thing on the sheet, link all the row layers and position with the arrow keys.
Note that you can also custom-make your own Picture Package. Instructions for this should be somewhere in Help.

If you have sent a test print via ePrint, and experience this issue, i would call the Cloud Services department.
If ePrint works fine, it is definitely a Google Cloud Print issue.

Creating multiple links from one map image in Flash CS4

I have been tasked with creating multiple links from one map image using flash. Each link would go to the main website page with that location. I assume I could create a button for each location on the map but not having a lot of experience any help / tutorial you know of would be super helpful.. Thanks! Not looking for someone to work me thru it but a little guidance would be great!

If I was to answer the problem, I would be giving you what you asked not to be given... the solution. So I'll suggest that you start by researching the getURL() function. That is what AS2 uses for opening web pages.
As for coding a button, I'll recommend the following article for you... it will explain the proper approach to coding a button, which will give you an advantage over others who don't follow it, but instead use the way the article says not to.

Google is one of the best resources available for learning how to do things with Flash--it's the first place I go when I have a wondering. In general, if you type in the right keywords, you get fairly good search results. In your case, combinations of "AS2", "button", "getURL", "tutorial" would probably work well.

Creating multiple shapes out of one image

I tried several times now, but I just cant seem to get it. I have an image of person, with which I want to crop that person out of the background with the bezier tool. But I need to create multiple shapes to cover some background f.x under his arms. How can I do this?

You realize I cannot see your screen, right? I do not understand your use of the terms "crop out" and "cover…under hsi arms." If you remove him, how are his arms still in the shot?
Do you need multiple masks on one layer or do you need a different mask for every frame of video? That is called rotoscoping and is easily researched.

How can I correct for 2 different color temperatures in one image?

Hi,
In indoor architectural photography one may encounter mixed color temperatures in one image. If one could use gels and lamps to replace incoming natural daylight and force a uniform color temperature (for instance tungsten) then the problem would go away. Yet, sometimes this is not possible or practical and I was exploring what could be accomplished within Photoshop. Here is my proposal ( or beginning of it):
shoot RAW
generate 2 versions of the image, each corrected for one of the color temperatures present (say WB dropper in "should be neutral" area where daylight dominates and another WB dropper in "should be neutral" area where tungsten dominates)
open them in Photoshop and move one of them as a layer on top of the other version
Try to blend the two layers
in one example, I used Hue blending mode and the photo fixed itself!! However this is not generalizable to other images
I also tried BlendIf for harder images but with no success
I presume selection is then a must which brings up the question:HOW CAN I SELECT DEPENDING ON COLOR TEMPERATURE? I mean, the layer where WB = daylight looks orange-casted in the areas where the main light source is tungsten, while the layer where WB = tungsten looks blue-casted in the areas lit mainly by sunlight. I must believe there should exist a best approach to select say the blue-casted areas or the orange-casted areas, and that approach should be simple if it somehow takes into consideration the predominant cast. I have tried Select Color Range but not very successfully. I just feel there must be a simpler way, taking advantage of the present casts.

If you want to use multiple keepalives for a service, you must use a script. The alternative would be to create 2 content rules, and 2 sets of services, one for port 80 (or whatever) and one for port 443 (or whatever), and use http for one and ssl for the other.
