Multiple screens not working correctly in Leopard!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have used my Apple laptop with an external screen for years through multiple versions of MacOS.
Leopard is the first to really frustrate me!
When I disconnect my external screen (which is my primary screen when attached) all the windows migrate to my MacBook Pro, which is exactly what should happen.
HOWEVER.
When I reconnect my external screen, you would expect one of two things to happen, either the windows would go back to their last 'dual screen' positions (ideal but it has never done this before) or move everything that is on the MacBook Pro primary screen to the new external primary screen, which is what every version of MacOS has done before.
Not Leopard, oh no, it appears to randomly leave applications/windows on either screen, it even leaves the waste bin on the secondary screen some times!!!!!!!!
This is VERY frustrating as I now have to tidy up my desktop before I can start work every time I connect/reconnect my screen!
Is there a setting I am missing or is this a genuine bug?????????

Hello, I'm having an issue with a LaserJet Pr0 200 color MFP M276nw Touch Screen not Working correctly. I have followed the instructions to reset the printer, but now am unable to select 'English' as my language because every time I select the 'English' option 'Spanish' is selected. I am then given two options to select 'Si' or 'No' both of which can not be selected on the touch screen?
Anybody know of a way round this?

I see that you are having issues with the touch screen not working correctly. I will do my best to help you.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector) This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
Was it the Nvram reset back to factory settings that you tried or a hard reset?
Try selecting the option on the display a little higher above the icon to see if that helps. Some touch screens are finicky.
I find that on the Lab printers when I am selecting different menus.

Screen Not Working Correctly- Horizontal Lines

For the past few weeks, when I open my computer, sometimes the bottom half of my screen is just a lot of lines or is not working correctly. Sometimes if I tilt the screen enough, it will go away. But I don't know what to do!

First step in user troubleshooting is to turn the phone off and back on. If that doesn't help, then a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will restart. If this does not solve it, then a restore from backup, and finally if necessary, a restore as a new device.
You do not indicate what iPhone version you have. You also do not say if the phone has been dropped or any user damage to the screen. If anything, you can make an appointment with the Apple Store Genius bar to get the hardware checked.

Deleting multiple items not working in Snow Leopard

I can select multiple events from a repeated event, and when I hit Delete to delete them, iCal correctly pops up a message asking if I'd like to delete only these events, or all future events. I hit "only these events" and it only deletes one item. My event is set up to repeat every week on Monday-Friday.

Finally got my Konica Minolta Magiccolor to work with Snow Leopard 10.6.1. What I had to do was go to the EU site and I found the Magicolor 2430DL driver that was newer than the one I was using in Leopard. The version you need to get is 1.8.1 and set it up as a HP Jetdirect - Socket and use an IP address that is on the same segment as your computer. Leave the queue name blank. Below is the link I used to find the driver. Select Magicolor 2430DL and it will load a lot of pages. The driver and instructions were on section 201 - 250. It was labeled as working with OS X 10.5 .

Keyboard backlight not working correctly after leopard update

My mbp originally came with Tiger (10.4), when Leopard (10.5) was released I updated. The backlight for the keyboard works normally until I installed the 10.5.1 update. After 10.5.1 and all other updates the keyboard backlight no longer worked correctly. In low light conditions or while working in the dark I have to manually turn it on instead of it doing it automatically. Is this a bug or is there a way to fix it?

Yes, I have to cover the sensors with my hands in order for them to turn off when light is back on, otherwise they just stay on.

Windows Vista not working correctly with Leopard 10.5

I just updated my MacBook Pro 17" by installing Leopard 10.5xx (erased and installed), then used BootCamp to partition disk and install Windows Vista. In Windows, my volume control is on, but no sound. I am having problems with drivers, and as I'm a new user to Mac/Windows, so I don't even know how to identify which drivers (on Leopard installation disk)I need. In Windows Device Manager I have something called "Human Interface" that needs a driver . . . but my computer can't find it on my Mac or on the disk.
I purchased extended AppleCare warranty, but don't know how to use it, and my 90 days is up so I can't call. Is this warranty strictly for hardware? I don't understand how to get the support/how to information I need; I'm a Windows user and find Apple's support confusing and indirect.

sorry, can't help, but you're definitely in the wrong forum. this is about mac os SERVER (not client) and your problem is related to either the hwardware you use or bootcamp.

Iphone screen not working correctly Please Help!!!!

Hi all, i just returned my broken iphone for a replacement. Everything worked fine until i tested cover-flow. At first everything was fuzzy. I reset my phone and then instead of everything being fuzzy, only the color black was. I really don't want to take it back again for a third iphone. Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Multiple tools not working correctly in CS4

So I didn't see any topics that related to my issue so here goes:
I was drawing in Photoshop, no issues, but after I tried to copy/paste a selection of the picture, I realized that nothing was copying or pasting at that. (Now before anyone asks, yes I am on the right layer and I know the correct keys/drag down menu area to use to copy or paste) Later, I tried to use the line tool but that only made a clear line shape but nothing else.
Now I've tried reseting the preferences, restarting photoshop, resarting my /computer/, but nothing's working.
Any ideas on how to fix this? Thank you for your time!

CVS not working correctly in Leopard

I installed xCode Developer Tools.
In the past, cvs would work out of the box after installing developer tools, now it doesn't work transparently and there isn't even a manual entry available for cvs.
Bbedit CVS integration is broken as a result (or at least that's what I beleive is causing the issue).
I added /Developer/usr/bin to my PATH but even with that, man cvs still doesn't work and Bbedit still won't catch on to the installed CVS.
This used to work just fine under Panther and Tiger.

I installed Leopard on a blank disk first.
Then I installed xCode from the Optional Installs folder.
When I booted back up, I tried using CVS in the terminal with no luck. So I ran find / -name 'cvs' -print
lo and behold it was located under /Developer/usr/bin
As for +"partial install of the Dev Tools, or a full install?"+ ... I really can't remember. I think I unchecked a few options.

Finder not working correctly in Leopard

Hi. Just upgraded from 10.4.11 to 10.5.8 on my PPC G5. Some problems have arisen during the course of the upgrade, all of which I've been able to resolve except this last one (hope it's the last). All my apps are running smoothly and the system is nice and snappy.
A problem has come up with Finder all of a sudden. I can use it but when I enter something in the search window, all my view options disappear and I get a message saying "there are no view options for the "Searching "drive name"" window. The results of my search will display but there are no little black arrows before the folders in list view and column view is dimmed and inaccessible. The only way I can see what's in the folder is to dbl-click it. If I clear the search window, everything returns to normal but then I'm in another window. I tried Repairing Disk Permissions and trashing "com.apple.finder.plist" and com.apple.sidebarlists.plist" but no change. Anyone have any suggestions?

I don't use Spotlight either but I do search in Finder and actually, when I went back into Tiger I noticed that after entering anything in Finder's search window, the little black arrows disappear from in front of the folders under that OS too. The Finder feature that I really miss from Tiger is that after a search is run, contents display in groups according to the "any" category (folders, documents, applications, etc.) and you can twirl the arrow on those groups to close up or display their contents which I found very convenient.

Have you tried a soft-reset to see if that fixes it ? You might be able to get warranty service in Egypt for your iPad, but the warranty includes :
IMPORTANT RESTRICTION FOR iPHONE AND iPAD SERVICE.
Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone and iPad to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.
As it's wifi-only you should have a better chance of it being serviced under warranty, but there are no guarantees, it might depend upon the repairer.

You don't metion whether the car was hot or cold.

Iphoto 9.2.1 leopard scrapbook theme not working correctly. THe opening slide has 2 pictures; the bottom one can barely be seen and probably shouldn't be there. It works fine in LION "only 1 image" on opening slide.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

Function keys are not working correctly

I've been looking all over the various threads and I can't find an answer that solves my problem.
Here are the details:
I bought the computer in the U.S. where I live.
I have a iMac 2.4GHz intel Core 2 Duo EMC 2133 with a 20" screen. Bought it new in February 2008.
I have Mac OS X 10.5.8 (I am waiting for my order for OS Snow Leopard to come in!!)
I have been using a wireless mouse and Keyboard (Love not having cords!)
Recently, my wireless keyboard got a short and quit working. I went down to the apple store and got a new wireless keyboard.
I had the computer with me at the genius bar so, yes, the apple employee saw exactly what I have.
I took it all home got the thing all put back together and got the new keyboard paired up and working with the computer.
Here are the problems:
Went to go use the function keys while using iTunes and found they weren't working properly. The F10, F11 and F12 do not control the volume of sound as the keyboard indicates they would, they instead activate dashboard, spaces, and application windows.
Following the advice of other threads, I looked over in the system preferences and made sure the "Use all F1, F2 etc." box was unchecked (it was unchecked), things still didn't work.
I tried the fn key but it appears to not work at all it has no effect on the functioning of the function keys.
I went under keyboard shortcuts in system preferences and found the F10, F11 and F12 keys, it confirms that those keys control spaces, dashboard and application windows as they are performing but shows no options to either reassign to volume control (as marked on the keyboard) or make the fn key work.
I've gone back and forth trying various combinations of checked and unchecked boxes to see if anything would work, so far I've come up with nothing.
A couple more important or interesting facts:
Yes I have turned off and taken the batteries out of the old keyboard. My bluetooth connection currently shows it as disconnected.
I have restarted the computer.
One thing I find odd; when I go under preferences and go to Keyboard and Mouse when I go under the section "Bluetooth" it shows Bluetooth mouse with the name of the mouse and the battery level. BUT nothing is showing up under bluetooth Keyboard, I can't figure out how to change this and don't know if it is contributing to the problem.
When I go under the bluetooth logo on the top bar I find the mouse and both keyboards referenced, the old keyboard is shown as disconnected and the other two are connected. I have tried to update the device's name but it doesn't seem to let me.
I have double clicked on the device under bluetooth and it shows the new keyboard as discoverable, paired and connected. Hence, I am using the new keyboard to write this inquiry.
Please, any assistance would be of great help. I have tried to be thorough in order help narrow the possible problem. Thanks!!

Just thought I'd let you know. Our suspicions were correct, it was the OS. After I installed Snow Leopard (10.6.8) all the problems were corrected. I also updated the RAM from 1 gb to 6 gb. The mac is working all around better. Sorry it took so long to get back to everyone. My superdrive had pooped out. Rather than replace it I got an external drive from OWC connected with firewire 800. So far everything is running very well, as far as I can tell this external drive is better than the original superdrive. My superdrive has always acted funny, infact I returned the first mac I got after a week because its superdrive was also malfunctioning. Anyway, all that to say everything seems to be fully functioning again.
