Multiple Servers for Development Team in WLI2.1 on wlidomain

Has anyone tried to create multiple servers so that a development team can share
the resources of a domain with WLI 2.1? If so, how did it work. I have done this
with WLS but would like to try it with WLI.
I tried to create multiple servers, but, had difficulty as there seems to many
resources that are tied to the server name and default port. Also, I tried to
change the port and that caused alot of problems on the myserver.

Thanks John.
I was not looking for something which is scaling out Hyperion Planning(via load balancer)/Horizontal clustering.
But was looking for some thing like Vertical clustering(multiple JVMs/nodes of Hyperion Planning within a single planning server) which was applicable in 11.1.1.3.
Came to know that with 11.1.2.2 vertical clustering not more supported.
Thanks

  • CSS11501 - URL Redirect for Multiple Servers For Both Ports 80 & 443

Can the CSS rules be configured such that it can be used to direct requests to different Web servers based upon,
    URL path?
For Both Ports 80 & 443/HTTPS (with SSL Certificate running on the back-end servers)
    For example:
    http://app.ti.com/path1/file.html goes to Web servers A & B -> old servers
    https://app.ti.com/path1/file.html goes to Web servers A & B -> "
    http://app.ti.com/path2/file.html goes to Web servers C & D -> new servers
    https://app.ti.com/path2/file.html goes to Web servers C & D -> "
We're trying to understand what are plans are for a phased migration from old site to new site, and if it requires new URLs ???
Fort port 443, since the CSS is load balancing SSL encrypted traffic, is the means that the CSS can’t look at URL thus this is not possible?
    Please help, thanks.

    Hi Martin,
    1) Clients are using http://domain/, thus I need to define url "//domain/.." as you have stated.
    2) I'm still waiting for the "actual" URL paths from the application team in order to decide which method to use - Regexp vs URLQ definition - to begin testing.
I know I have limited memory resource (as listed below) & will try not to make it complicated:
    System Resources for CSS501-SCM-INT:

    CPU:                0% (5Sec)     1% (1Min)     0% (5Min)

  • What is the easiest way to ensure correct permissions on multiple servers for folder targets (2008r2) DFS-R

I have 5 sites to manage and need to create replicated folders using a domain DFS on at least one server on each site. (2008R2)
My aim is to work out the most efficient (i.e. least work) of creating shares on each server and ensuring that permissions are consistent.
At the start there will notionally be one "master" share and all the other "satellite" servers will connect bi-directionally with this central one.
So if I ensure that when the folders are created on the satellite servers that administrators and system have NTFS full control, will those folders inherit the permissions from the source folder, or will I need to set permissions on each server?
    regards
    roga

After initial replication finished, there is no Primary server anymore
Hi Shaon, and thanks for your reply
I am aware that when you create the first 2 members of a group DFS-R asks you to select a master.
The situation I am now in is that 4 of 6 machines have finished replication and I have another 2 to add.
So when I add a new member to the group, will the group NTFS perms be applied to the new member target, or do I have to set the NTFS perms on the new target prior to replication?
If permission granting is automatic, are there any minimum perms on the new folder target, e.g. that the system has full control
Part of the reason why I am asking is this: sometime we put re-directed folders into DFS and these have complex NTFS permissions i.e. "domain user" can create folders but not files and "creator owner" has full access to sub files and
folders. It is very easy in this situation to get some of the perms wrong on one of the member targets.

  • Request for development team

I really need a spelling checking and automated hyphenation in TLF components. I hope that squiggly will have these features on the to-do list. I have a number of projects that need these features. Are these important to enough to make them high on the priority list?

Thanks for the wait.  We recently released Squiggly 0.5, with native support for TLF.
Please let us know if this meets your needs.

  • Logoff remote sessions to multiple servers for the same user

    Hi,
I'm after some advice, I have a junior DBA working with me who has a tendancy to leave remote connections on various production servers, we have a large estate about 300 servers and trying to identify the servers is a difficult task.
I was hoping to use SQL Server Management Studio / Registered servers and issue one simple command against all servers to logoff the account which has been left connected. I normally log into each server start Task Manager/Users and log off the account,
this then stops the account locking but only when I have identified all servers he is still connected to. I have tried the comand prompt Logoff and session ID, this works great but the session ID on each server can be different.
Any help or advice would be great! Thanks in advance.

    Hi
I think it would be easier to enable session time out settings using GPO considering you work in a domain environment..
Having session timeouts settings you could say... hey after 15 min of inactivity disconnect the user and then after 15 min of disconnected session log him off
Take a look at this URL: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc754272.aspx
    Hope this helps

  • 10.1.3.4 - FTP adapter polling multiple servers

Is it possible to get files from multiple servers for a given BPEL or ESB service ? My source application writes to its local file systems in the exact same location, but 2 different servers. Is there anyway we can instruct the FTP adapter to poll both the servers ? or do we have to duplicate the call to poll the 2nd server ?

Don't think so. We have solved it by having one esb ftp-adapter to each server and route them together in the same routing service.

  • Purpose of Multiple Clients in Development Server

can anybody tell me the advantages and
disadvantages of having multiple clients in a
    development server?

I don't think there is disadvantage when we have multiple clients for development system
DEV  SAP system may have multiple clients..
Main pupose : Changes can be client dependent or client independent
                          Client-independent effects some clients.
                          Client-dependent effects all clients.
Let me say one example : Dev system has two clients
100 - Here we can write the code
200 - Testing will be here ( customizing will done here)

  • Selective IP filtering for multiple servers in a domain?

Is it possible to have IP filtering on for certain servers in a
    domain, and not for others?
    This is the situation:
I am deploying two servers in mydomain, so let's call it serverA
and serverB. I want serverA to accept all connections while
serverB accepts connections only from certain IPs. I know you
can do IP filtering using SimpleConnectionFilter in the
"Connection Filter" option in Security->General tab of the Admin
console, but this turns on IP filtering for BOTH serverA and
serverB! How do I turn it on for one, and not the other? Any
help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
    Leon

    Hi,
Yes you can have muliple servers in a domain. You can create as many managed
servers as your hardware can handle. When you added the server, did you use the
startManagedWebLogic.sh (or .cmd) script to start the server. Once you do that,
you should see the server as running.
    Hope this helps,

  • Recommended configuration for load balanced Portal with load balancer, multiple gateways and multiple servers.

Does anyone have a recommended network, hardware and software configuration guide for a Portal installation running with multiple gateways load balanced (ie one URL) that talk to multiple servers?

    David,
We've used Resonate (software) to load balance the gateways. It allows
you to group all the gateways under 1 virtual URL and load balance the
incoming connections over each gateway depending on the rules that you
define in Resonate. Look in the SUN portal whitepapers there is one that
    talks about it specifically.
As far as load balancing the calls to the portals, the gateways will
automatically load balance across all the portals that they know about
using a simple round-robin rotation. You may be able to use Resonate in
front of the portals but you may need to activate persistance within
Resonate to ensure that the user always ends up on the portal that he
established his initial connection on (if you want that), check with Sun
    on this one.

We are planning for the Charm implementation and we have multiple clients in Developement system.
Major hurdle is how to keep all the development clients in sync.
    we have following clients
    100  Golden client
    300  configuration client
    400  ABAP Developement client
    500  Unit test
    600  HR1
    700  HR 2 clients
All configurations will be made in Client 300 and transported to QA and all developements will be made in client 400
Transports released from 300 and 400 should go all other clients.
Solman experts could anyone advice whether this is can be done using charm.

What that means in practical terms is that we have a tough time separating the value of POUT from the value of TDDYou might have, pal. I don't.
Those of us who are happy with POUT (and looking at the extra effort needed for TDD with some distaste) are left wondering what TDD offers us that we don’t already have.Proving once and for all that you never really understood TDD.
Frankly, it seems to me that we’re getting the goodies the TDD folk go on about just fine and without having to retrain how we develop.Frankly, it seems to me that retraining how you develop might not be a bad idea. Please furnish me with full contact details, for any future CV filtering I may have to do
Part of my problem with TDD has been that it claims to provide complete testingProblem refuted. TDD has never made that claim.
adopting TDD is a non-trivial training and practice burdenAgreed. Does that make it invalid?

  • Bootcamp Version 3.1 --List of bug reports for the Development Team to fix.

Please create a list of bug fixes for the Development Team to address in the next version of Bootcamp (e.g., 3.2). This thread assumes that all users are presently running Bootcamp 3.1:
    1. Sound should not be muted every time a user reboots a newer MacBook laptop using Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit. My sound is always muted when I load Windows 7 Ultimate, and I have to manually turn it on each time.
    2. Left and right clicks on the trackpad should work out of the box using Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit. My left click operates a little less than 50 percent of the time -- i.e., I click it and nothing happens. I had to switch to "tap to click" as a workaround, however, I prefer the good old solid left click.
Please step right up and add to the bug report list so that the developers have a checklist of issues that need to be fixed. When the bug report list has grown to a respectable size, I'll send an official letter to the C.E.O. to facilitate the bug reports reaching the development team.

FWIW, I don't have the symptoms you describe. So I think before you call a symptom a "bug" I think you should confirm that it is indeed a "bug" and not a configuration, software, or hardware issue caused by something such as incorrect installation, incorrect setup, or any other third party or user caused action.
Also, FWIW, I don't think this forum is intended to be used as a survey for gathering "bugs". Apple has an official feedback page where they gather user experiences such as yours. I think if you post your "bugs" there they will get faster attention than posting them here in this user-to-user help forum.

  • Single RTMP Link for multiple servers

    Hi,
can i use a single RTMP link included on FMLE with multiple servers, means, that RTMP link will do the redirection to the other RTMP links.
with hight number of simultanous users, that feature will manage the use of  servers
    Regards,
    Morsi

As I understand you want to publish single stream to multiple server, so that you can load balance the subscribers..
So the answer is .. that this is possible with FMS.. FMS provides ways to scale you infrastructure.. So you might use "Multi-point publishing feature" of the FMS. This feature allows you to forward your RTMP streams from one FMS server to another FMS server..
You may find the useful link here : http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashMediaServer/3.5_Deving/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d11a0773d5 6e-7ffb.html
There is another way to publish the same stream to two server.. From FMLE, you can publish the same stream to at most 2 server.. In FMS you can simultaneously connect to at max two servers.. There are two connection URL edit boxes " FMS URL, and Backup URL" You may provide both for two different FMS servers..
Let me know does the information help.. It would be really good if you can elaborate your use case.. because just for the purpose of scaling.. there are multiple options, like edge-origin server topology, DVRCast or live cast set-up, multipoint-point publishing etc.. But what to use actually depends upon the use case...
