Multiple shares displaying in Finder for ONE Macbook?

Since installing Yosemite the Shared area of the Finder sidebar is now showing not only my Airport Extreme USB HD, but is also displaying my Macbook Air (named GSB). Okay, whatever. But it's also racking up multiples over time so I have GSB (2), GSB (3), and so forth.
I don't really care, but it's messing with my AppleTV and ROKU finding my shared movies and playing them. I have to keep removing the share from the players and re-adding it. Any advice? I know NOTHING of networking really.

I am having a difficult time getting the duration of multiple selected clips. The duration display only will display the time for one clip. Yes, I know I can add them up myself, but why? :-)

For reasons that you would have to ask Apple for they decided not to allow the precise position of the playhead to be shown in iMovie 10 (unlike in FCP 10.1.x).

I hope this discussion can be revived. I have the same problem. There seem to be quite a few Japanese sites that don't bother specifying their encoding. Perhaps they are older and from a time when it was not necessary to adhere to standards. $DISPLAY stopped working for one user

Have 3 secondary users that I use daily on this desktop, that runs Arch x86_64 up-to-date (systemd compatible). WM is i3-wm 4.3-2.
As of today, USER2 can launch GUI applications, USER3 sudently can't.
Can't see what configuration I could have edited (I barely touch those secondary users config files).
First tho secondary users are allowed to use X with 'xhost +SI:localuser:<USER{2,3}>' in a startup script, so that I can launch various GUI apps.
Both share the same groups (audio,video,...) beside their own peculiar group.
Oh and a last one that is used for skype only (as per the wiki). It is launched with an alias:
alias skype='xhost +local: && sudo -u skype /usr/bin/skype'
Runs fine.
Logged as USER3:
$ echo $DISPLAY
$ leafpad
leafpad: Impossible d'ouvrir l'affichage:

Logged as primary User I typed successively:

As far I can remember I haven't edited any config file on that system for last month - other than power management related: cpupower, jupiter and kernel-netbook
Problem hasn't changed on the desktop PC: $DISPLAY works fine with one secondary user, and not at all with the other. Have no clue as where it may comes from, so any advice would be much appreciated.

Multiple Posting change notice created for one material document

Hi All,
The scenario is that the user needs to transfer material from unrestricted to quality stock type. while doing so the storage type is different than the actual storage type for the material. Meaning if the material is normally stored in high rack storage type, when it is found that the material is damaged or expired it need to be moved to the quality storage type. For this the user will first create material document in IM with movement type 322 transferring material from unrestricted stock to qualtiy stock. A PCN will be created in back ground which will in turn be converted manually by the user to a TO. while doing so the user will pick the quant manually from the required storage type and select the destination storage type as the quality or quanranntine area.
The issue here is that system creates one PCN for each material document line item. The requirement is that the system should create only one PCN with multiple lines for one Material document.
The setting in the movememnt type clearly says that it will behave as it is behaving.
Is there any other way or setting by which we can create one PCN with multiple line items for a material document.

Thanks and Sorry for the delayed reply. We have now convinced the users that the system behaviour is standard and we cannot change the same.
To your question about the need to have one PCN with multiple lines please note that the setup is such that when material document is created for transferring material from unrestricted to quality and vice versa this document is created with multiple materials in one go. Now when the PCN is to be converted to TO then the user ends up in creating number of TO's equal to the number of lines in the Material Document. We wanted to avoid this and hence this was posted in SDN.

Windows 8.1 forgets dpi / display size settings for one monitor on almost every reboot

I use TV 32" with 1920x1080 and cintiq 13" with 1920x1080
when I boot my PC the resolution is fine but DPI is wrong.
In smaller monitor It's look like DPI is higher than the bigger one.
I already set dpi to be the same (smallest 100%) but it's not work until I do something to change display setting.
It's really annoy me. This problem is not happen when I use windows 8
Only solution I found is turn off
"Turn on fast start-up".
When I do that It's boot like what I want. every monitor is the same DPI.
But it'll make my boot time longer.
It should be just start up windows and use the same dpi from the start.
So I think this problem is a bug in windows 8.1

I've already used the latest graphic card driver. But It's won't help this issue.
In registry editor. I check those variables then value of them is already set like that blog suggest.
So , it look like when windows start-up(with fast start-up) It use something like
suggest value for different monitor size instead of what I set in control panel. But when I turn off fast start-up windows use my setting value.
And I think there are a lot of people who got the same problem as me.

"Reader" will only display a PDF for one second, then suts down the PDF.

I recently had an automatic update to "Reader" and now "Reader" will only display a PDF for about one second, then shuts down the PDF. This happens to all PDFs no matter what the scource. I am running Windows 7. What do I need to do to correct the situation. (Yes -- I deleted "Reader" from my computer, the re-installed it. Didn't help.)

Go to C/Programs/Adobe/Reader 11/Reader.
Look for a file named eula.exe (or just eula).
Double click it.
Accept the license agreement.
Reader should work fine from there.

Why do I have multiple birthdays listed in ical for one person

Other devices show only single birthdays (iPhone, iPad, web based login to iCloud). Just the MBP shows multiple birthdays that are listed for individuals and usually three per individuals=.

The Calendar app pulls birthdays from the Contacts app.
If you also have another Birthday calendar with the same birthdays, they will show up twice.

Multiple records displayed on form at one time- 2 lines for each record

Hello,
I have a canvas in which I want to display 8 records at at time, so in the data block I specified 8 as the "number of records displayed" value.
However, the record has too many fields to display on 1 vertical line, so I want to split the fields into two separate lines, so there will still be 8 records but each in two lines.
How do I do that?
I'm using Forms 10g. The block is a database block using FROM CLAUSE QUERY , and the canvas is stacked.

You will need to set the "Distance Between Records" property for each item in the Multi-Record Block. This will increase the space between rows so you can stack them into two rows. Unfortunately, you can't set this property at the block - so you have to set it for each displayed item.

What is the proper display default setting for a MacBook 13''?

Hi, I clicked on system preferences from the little blue apple and then clicked on Display because I was wanted to increase my screens brightness. Before I clicked anything else however, the screen blinked and blacked out and then came back up with large black lines on each side and the screen was scrunched up. Thinking I maybe accidentally changed the resolution, I clicked on the one below it - which increased the size of everything! Now everything is all messed up and even though I've got it fitting almost back to normal - the font and words seem blurry.
What did I do wrong and what is the right (default) setting? I just want my display to look normal again! Thanks for everyone's help.

With the Macbook 13", turn the resolution as high as it can go, millions of colors, refresh rate n/a. This was the default with my machine, and it's working fine.

Why can't we have superdrive and retina display and HDMI in one macbook pro?

Its good to have a lighter macbook pro for those who don't need the superdrive....BUT, What about those (like myself) who desperately want a superdrive in their macbook pro and also the retina display!! And, Why can't we have a regular HDMI in macbook pro with a superdrive....this is so frustrating! Whats wrong with apple!

No need, as long as Apple continues to offer a notebook line-up that includes built-in optical drives, to buy a Windows machine... yet.
As I said, the only thing that I use my SuperDrive for now is backups of all those digital software deliveries, documents, etc. If I finally break down and buy an external Blu-ray drive, I won't use the SuperDrive at all. But right now I have almost 12 years of back-ups on DVD, both single and dual layer - so, for now, I need my optical drive.
I'm hoping that - one day - Apple will sell MacBook Pros with Blu-ray drives. Hey, I can wish, right?
