Multiple signature PDF form without saving as a new PDF form

I know that when you sign a PDF form and hit save it opens up a window wanting to save a new PDF in a new location. What I would like to do is have a PDF form in one location on a server where everyone can open the PDF form. sign the PDF and then just hit save to keep the PDF as one PDF and not create a new PDF every time someone signs the PDF. IS this Possible?

Yes, it is possible. you just need to hit save in the save as window. do not add anything to the file name and it would keep on replacing the old one.

I have recently purchased Acrobat X.
Everytime I make an edit to a pdf file, I cannot overwrite the old version. I keep getting an error message saying that another user has the document open, and am forced to save with a new name or in a new location.
Can anyone help me to fix this? I deal with 100s of PDF files in a day and re-saving in a different location or renaming with every change is a real time-consuming hassle.

Sorry to hikack the thread....but I have the same issue.
Windows 7, saving to network drive. If I overwrite the pdf on the desktop it does so fine. However, not on the network drive. The user has full control permissions on the network drive. So at a loss as to why this is happening. It only happens with PDF files too (as have tried other file formats with no issues).
Don't think it is a Acrobat problem - this was happening on Acrobat X and now on Acrobat XI. But again shouldn't be a permissions issue either...??
Any ideas?

It's probably the fields highlight color of the application, which you can change via Edit - Preferences - Forms.

ExportPDF is not for forms. In general, converting forms to Word is a really, really bad idea which can even cause legal problems. Work with the form as a PDF. Acrobat (not Reader) can export form data as simple text for example.

Not really.
The creator of the form could set the form up so the info can be "submitted" which wouldn't require saving but to have the entire form, filled out, sent via email, it would need to be saved.

Custom tax form 1099R overlayed by SAP new tax form with stack changes

We are implementing stack updates and with these were notes with 2008 Tax Reporter changes. SAP created a new form under HR_F_1099R, new form HR_F_945-08 (sequence #0006). We had a custom form zhr_F_1099R_cust that was sequence #0006. Our custom 1099R form was overlayed. What is the best way to customize a form, but protect it form being overlayed. Is there a custom sequence number or something I'm missing that will protect the customized form. We have had this happen with previous stack updates.
What do I need to do when copying the delivered PDF HR_F_1099R_mult to create a new custom 1099R to ensure that the customized form will not be at a sequence number that will be used by SAP with future form additions and overlay my form?

In the U.S. Tax Reporting Guide - That identifies using a sequence number of 99, then 98....the higher up the lower the probablility that your entry will be overwritten by a subsequent new SAP form.

Can I create a pdf with clickable links which open new pdfs?

My client now wants me to create pdf with links to open new pdfs (in an offline mode). He wants to put all the content onto memory sticks to hand out at a conference.
I have suggested the alternative of links which redirect to other pages within the same pdf, but if I could create one which open whole new pages or documents this would be really smart.

When you create the links, use "Go to a page view" type, as opposed to "Open a file". This allows you to create links that will open another PDF to a particular page and view (zoom and position).

How to add/delete rows on the form without saving data

I am new to apex
I am working on project and need some help on creating a form
my requirment is to save a request that has multiple questions.
i have a request form with multiple regions
On one of the region that takes questions, I want to create a tabular form such that i can add/delete/update row without hitting database and enter multiple questions
each row is one question.
Apex has the default functionality of having a tabular form linked to a table that onload shows the data from that table and also on click of add or delete hits the data base to save the data.
However i want to load a form that does not show any data if its a new request and click of add/delete should not update the databse. It should just add/delete a row on the form
so user logs in and can create a request that has multiple questions
finally want to submit the form and save all the information of the form in multiple tables.
As of now i a m able to have a simple form and a process that save 1 question per request.
How do i achieve this. Please assist.

The blue background is the field highlighting that you have the option of turning off. If you don't see the purple bar on top with Highlight Fields toggle button, it should displayed by clicking the top icon (purplish) in the navigation pane on the left

Please try following steps:
Open Firefox
Windows: - click on 'Tools' manu > Options and Mac:- Click on 'Firefox' menu > Options
Click 'Applications' tab
from the list, find : Portable Document Format and select 'Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox)'
This should solve the problem for you.

Can't open pdf attachment without saving first

Whenever someone emails me with a pdf attachment I cannot just open the attachment. It makes me save the document first, locate the file I just saved in my hard drive, and then I can open it. I started having this problem earlier this week. Before, I could just click on the attachment and it would open. I have the latest first of Adobe. What can I do so I can simply click on an attachment and it opens?

How do I get firefox to open a pdf in adobe instead of the new pdf reader?

Before the recent update, 19.0, I would google something and see [PDF] next to a link. I click the middle mouse button to open it in a new tab. Firefox would download the file and open it with Adobe Reader. I like this.
With the new update 19.0, the pdf file would be opened in the new tab. I have to go and down load it and then open it in Adobe. I don't like this.
I go into preferences under applications. I look to see if I can change this. Next to Adobe Reader document, I choose Use Adobe Reader, but when I click on a [PDF] link, it still opens the file in Firefox and not Adobe.
I want it back to the way it was.

You can set the pdfjs.disabled pref to true on the <b>about:config</b> page to disable the build-in PDF viewer and use the Adobe Reader instead.

Creating new PDF's from the input of a form

I posted a similar message to this one about 3 months ago. I had to work on other projects and also learn more about the process to make this happen. In a nutshell, here's what I'm trying to accomplish:
User downloads form from our website and fills it in. (dynamic form is complete)
User clicks "Submit Form" button on form and XML data is sent to our server. (I'm currently learning about MySQL and PHP, not my forte)
PHP script on server receives XML and adds input (field data) to database.
Once that data has been input, another (or the same) PHP script will pull that data from the database and populate a pre-formatted PDF with it.
Finally, the new PDF will be sent back to the user as an attachment to an email.
Does this sound like the way it should be done? If so, could someone with experience in doing this provide me with a rough sketch of the sorts of necessary components that will come into play so that I can create a list of things to learn? At this point, what I DO know is that the form will submit its information in XML format and be read by a PHP script. That's about it.

If it satisfies the requirements then it makes sense. ;^)
I have not done PHP development but I am guessing you will need at least:
1) a PDF library for PHP to do data import/export
2) an XML library for parsing http://www.php.net/manual/en/refs.xml.php
3) and a MySQL database driver http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/php-mysqlnd/
