Multiple Songs in iMovie and making the DVD

I just tried to make the DVD from my iMovie, and the second song that I have did not play ?
Am I doing something wrong ?

How do I get iTunes 11 to work as the old iTunes did in this respect: after playing a song in one playlist, I click on another playlist, highlight a song, press play, and get the result of that song playing & that playlist continuing? As it goes now, one clicks on the song in the new playlist where the arrow is and then chooses 'Play Song Next.' So, it plays next, but then the song after that is back in the old playlist. I want to use iTunes smoothly without the extra clicks I've had to do in order to get the playlist to continue. This is music for background while I play the violin at restaurants, and extra clicks and hassle is quite unappreciated, especailly since it worked fine in the previous iTunes.

At the top of the playlist where it shows the playlist title and the number of songs, there are two icons. Click the "play" triangle to add the entire playlist to "Up Next", or the "shuffle" symbol to do the same thing but in random order. But the currently playing track will stop playing, and all the songs in "Up Next" will be removed (replaced by the ones from this playlist).
If you hold down the "option" key while clicking those icons, the currently playing song will continue playing, and the new playlist will be added to "Up Next" (above the songs that were already there).

You could if you want a postcard sized print.
Printers need a lot more "dots" per inch and even a 1920X1080 video doesn't have enough "dots" to make more than a postcard.

If you are using an iOS device then no, I don't think that you can gift a song, it will need to be the whole album. If you are using your computer's iTunes, and it's not an album-only track, then you should be able to gift individual songs via the downward pointing arrow next to the song's price.

Yes, I'd like to use all the video I shot, put it together with music, titles, etc. and make it consistant. when it goes from full screen to this vertical, narrow clip, it's very awkward.....and it's so narrow, it's hard to see what I'm looking at; my eyes don't make the adjustment quickly.

Try doing a full reset. otherwise it sounds like you might want to walk it into the nearest Apple Store and get an opinion there.

i guess you are referring to iTunes Match. It sounds as though you haven't downloaded all the content and are trying to play your music over a poor connection.

Click iMovie/About. If you have version 9.0.4 (iMovie 11) this will work. If you have an earlier version, this will also work, but there are also other ways.
First, get an app called MPEG Streamclip, which is free. (MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5)
Open MPEG Streamclip.
In iMovie, select the clip you need. Then, right-click/Reveal in Finder.
Drag this clip into MPEG Streamclip
In MPEG Streamclip, move the playhead to the frame you want.
In MPEG Streamclip, click FILE/EXPORT FRAME.
Choose JPEG, TIFF, or PNG and give it a name.
You can then drag this photo into iPhoto.
I have created a short video Tutorial on how to do this. There is one error in the Tutorial, where it says that Command-click is the same as right-click. I should have said Control-click instead.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

Exporting and making a dvd - the best way is . . . ?

I have just posted a question about subtitles, but now I just need to know from the experts out there what is the best/fastest
way to export your project and make a dvd. For years I've had issues with this - from it taking too long (up to 6 hours total
for a feature), to it not looking like it did in the sequence. Any links, suggestions, tips, anything would be so great! I've
got a crazy deadline and my export is unusable!

Chances are you inadvertantly made an HD DVD instead of a normal DVD. DVD players will only play standard definition DVD discs. The HD DVD format was abandoned a few years ago by its developers, but HD DVDs will play in most later model Macs.

I said you could chose either. Personally, I use a self-contained movie ... just so I'll have a finished copy of my edit that will play even if I delete the original media and render files. Reference movies will always need to have all of the original media and render files on the computer to refer to.

There are many ways to produce slide shows using iPhoto, iMovie or iDVD and some limit the number of photos you can use (iDVD has a 99 chapter (slide) limitation).
If what you want is what I want, namely to be able to use high resolution photos (even 300 dpi tiff files), to pan and zoom individual photos, use a variety of transitions, to add and edit music or commentary, place text exactly where you want it, and to end up with a DVD that looks good on both your Mac and a TV - in other words end up with and end result that does not look like an old fashioned slide show from a projector - you may be interested in how I do it. You don't have to do it my way, but the following may be food for thought!
Firstly you need proper software to assemble the photos, decide on the duration of each, the transitions you want to use, and how to pan and zoom individual photos where required, and add proper titles. For this I use Photo to Movie. You can read about what it can do on their website:

(Other users here use the alternative FotoMagico: http://www.boinx.com/fotomagico/homevspro/ which you may prefer - I have no experience with it.)
Neither of these are freeware, but are worth the investment if you are going to do a lot of slide shows. Read about them in detail, then decide which one you feel is best suited to your needs.
Once you have timed and arranged and manipulated the photos to your liking in Photo to Movie, it exports the file to iMovie 6 as a DV stream. You can add music in Photo to Movie, but I prefer doing this in iMovie where it is easier to edit. You can now further edit the slide show in iMovie just as you would a movie, including adding other video clips, then send it to iDVD 7, or Toast, for burning.
You will be pleasantly surprised at how professional the results can be!

I record a video of my screen in Quicktime. I then open the video in iMovie and do the most basic of edits: cutting portions of the .mov I don't need. The edited file is ~2-3 times bigger than the original Quicktime file. What gives?

So my question is, how do I get iMovie to edit the file without changing the size of it? It can't improve the quality of the Quicktime movie by making the file size bigger, so why does it do this? The Optimization options do not help the situation. Any insight into this is greatly appreciated!
