Multiple Spry CSS files?

I'm wondering if it's possible to have more than one style
sheet for, in this case, Spry Tabbed Panels. I'd like to have a
couple of different looks for tabbed panels in the site on which
I'm working and want be able to do that will CSS. So...
1) Is it possible?
2) Is there a specific naming convention, (i.e.,
"SpryTabbedPanels1.cs")?
3) Presumably they would need to be stored in the SpryAssets
folder???
Thanks - JAY

Sure, it's completely possible. Create new CSS style sheets
that contain =
your revised styles and then link to them after the link to
the standard =
Spry CSS files. There's no standard naming convention and you
can store =
it wherever you'd like.

  • Multiple style.css files?

    I'm a complete newbie to Dreamweaver and have several sites
    that run off of the same domain. I have to admit I don't know mcuh
    at all about Dreamweaver, style sheets, etc. but bought two
    templates that I was able to update, but when I publish them the
    background color, and some fonts change to the defaults of the
    previous template (1 has a blue background with white type, and the
    other green with black type).
    From what I can tell there is sowmthing called style.css file
    that seems to set the default styles, and they have the same name.
    Is there a way to have two of these files on the same site? Can we
    assisng different names so that the pages know which style sheet to
    follow?
    Any help you can give would be great.

    Can you post the URL?

  • Problem with CSS files when placed in multiple locations.

    Hi,
    In our application we have a folder structure for the code files. Folder structure looks something like the one shown below:
    ABC
    ---Scripts
    ---Stylesheets
    DEF
    Scripts
    Stylesheets
    Common
      ---Scripts
      ---Stylesheets
      The problem is, if we create a CSS file and place it in its module specific folder (Eg: ABC) to which it belongs to and call the CSS on a page, then the styles are not getting applied to the page. But if we move the stylesheet to the Common folder, then page renders properly. In common folder, we already have a common CSS which is used across the project.
    Facing similar problem with module specific and common js files.
    We have to move all the module specific files to the module folders and all the common files to be placed in the Common folder.
    MII Version: 11.5
    Please help!
    Regards,
    Rajesh.

    Rajesh,
    Also note that, If your html is referencing to multiple css files then the last referenced CSS file style classes will override all the style class having same names in the previous css files.
    for example,
    say CSS1 has
    .bodycolor
    background-color:yellow;
    .button
    color:red;
    h1
    font-size:50pt;
    and CSS2 has
    .bodycolor
    background-color:red;
    .button
    color:yellow;
    And your HTML is,
    <html>
    <head>
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css1.css"/>
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css2.css"/>
    <title>CSS Test</title>
    </head>
    <body class="bodycolor">
    <h1>Hello World</h1>
    <input type="button" class="button" name="B1" id="B1" value="      Click         " size="50">
    </body>
    </html>
    In this case the classes "bodycolor" and "button" will be overridden by css2 file but h1 will be taken from css1
    Hope this helps!!

    Adarsh

  • Multiple css files in the project

    Hi,
    Iam working on a RH project which has files imported from
    word. As a result a result I ended up with multiple .CSS files: one
    .CSS file per Word document. The .CSS files are basically the same
    so I would like to merge these into a single .CSS file and apply
    this to all the topics in the project. Help for merging these files
    would be appreciated. Also is there a way to to identify unused
    styles and remove them from the project?
    Thank you.

    Welcome to our community, eastcongress
    Try viewing the Topic List. Select all the topics and choose
    properties. Then choose the style sheet you desire.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Issue with multiple CSS files

    I am having a problem adding multiple css files in an article.  When i alter the html close the article then re-open it. RoboHelp changes this and adds 1 css link.  See images below.  For now I am going to put all styles in one file, but want to know if there is a work around and what others are doing for this.
    Before close
    After close and re-open

    Sorry but RoboHelp only supports one CSS file.

  • Is it possible to use multiple css files in epub?

    For fixed layout I would like to use multiple css files.
    Is it allowed  by apple requirements?

    Yes. ePub suports multiple CSS files and therefore so does Apple iBooks.

  • Jquery mobile - how to create multiple CSS files?

    I've been researching this heavily, and can't seem to find anyone discuss this. I'm a CS4 user, and understand 5.5 now includes builtin support for jquery mobile. I've watched the videos on how you set the sizes for phone, tablet, desktop, point each to the appropriate CSS file. Great, wonderful.
    However, nobody is discussing how you get the three separate CSS files!  I want to add a mobile version of an existing site. I have just the one .css file. How do I make the other 2 .css files? Do I duplicate the desktop file, and start somehow altering each item? Is there some type of automatic system to tweak the main .css file?
    Seems like this step is critical. Any insights?

    I built this page with CSS Media Queries.  If you resize viewport to less than 480px, it changes layouts.
    http://alt-web.com/TEMPLATES/CSS-centered-round-boxes.shtml
    I made the Desktop.css first.
    http://alt-web.com/Styles/Desktop.css
    Then I removed the Desktop.css link from my HTML document and replaced it with the iphone.css link.
    http://alt-web.com/Styles/iphone.css
    After fine tuning the iphone layout, I re-attached the desktop.css link and added the following code to the head of my document.
    <meta name="viewport" content="user-scalable=no, width=device-width" />
    <link href="../Styles/Desktop.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="only screen and (min-width:481px)" />
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="../Styles/iphone.css" media="only screen and (min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px)"/>
    <!--pre-IE9 browsers don't support CSS3 so we give them the desktop layout-->
    &lt;!--[if lt IE9]>
    &lt;link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="../Styles/Desktop.css" media="screen" />
    <![endif]-->
    Do you have to literally go in and manually change the wraps, floats, whatever for everything?
    Yes.  If you examine the comments in my iphone.css code, you'll see I changed some things to display:none, float:none, etc...

  • Help on css files for multiple platforms from media queries.

    I am trying to make a new site friendly to bith the tablet and smart phone users.  My media queries program requires me to attach new css files for each new platform.  When I design these new css files do I simply go to the box and limit the width?  Is there something else I need to do?

    If you're using the Media Queries panel in Dreamweaver, then yes. You just specify the .css file, and enter in the min and/or max width for each range of screen sizes.
    It will insert code that looks something like:
    <link href="tablet.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="only screen and (min-width:481px)">

  • How to apply different styles to multiple spry accordian panels?

    Hi all,
    I have a website that I'm building that has multiple spry accordian features on it.
    I am trying to apply different styles to each accordian. A problem arises when I try to place an accordian within another accordian.
    I have styled two different background images for two of the accordians for the styles (AccordionPanelTab, AccordionPanelTabHover and AccordionPanelOpen AccordionPanelTabHover) which work fine.
    When I try and place an accordian within another accordian the background image for this accordian for the styles (AccordionPanelTab and AccordionPanelOpen AccordionPanelTabHover) has the different style applyed that I stated in the accordion.css file, however the style (AccordionPanelTabHover) has the same style as the accordian it is within even though in the accordion.css file I stated a different background image.
    I hope all this makes sence below is my source and CSS Code.

    Okay guys,
    I figured it out, if anyone was having the same problem as me and looking on this thread for the answer, here it is.
    Firstly if you're wanting to seperatly style two or more Spry Accordions that are not within each other e.g.
    <div id="Accordion1" class="Accordion" tabindex="0">
      <div class="AccordionPanel">
        <div class="AccordionPanelTab">Label 1</div>
        <div class="AccordionPanelContent">
       <p>Content Goes Here </p>
    </div><!-- end #Accordion1 Content -->
      </div><!-- end #Accordion1 .AccordionPanel -->
    </div><!-- end #Accordion1 -->
    <div id="Accordion2" class="Accordion" tabindex="0">
      <div class="AccordionPanel">
        <div class="AccordionPanelTab">Label 1</div>
        <div class="AccordionPanelContent">
       <p>Content Goes Here </p>
    </div><!-- end #Accordion2 Content -->
      </div><!-- end #Accordion2 .AccordionPanel -->
    </div><!-- end #Accordion2 -->
    You don't have to do this, as long as you have seperate ID's for the divs (which dreamweaver automatically does anyway) you'll be fine.
    However if for some reason you want to put one accordion inside another like I did e.g.
    <div id="Accordion1" class="Accordion" tabindex="0">
      <div class="AccordionPanel">
        <div class="AccordionPanelTab">Label 1</div>
        <div class="AccordionPanelContent">
       <p>Content Goes Here </p>
    <div id="Accordion2" class="Accordion" tabindex="0">
      <div class="AccordionPanel">
        <div class="AccordionPanelTab">Label 1</div>
        <div class="AccordionPanelContent">
       <p>Content Goes Here </p>
    </div><!-- end #Accordion2 Content -->
      </div><!-- end #Accordion2 .AccordionPanel -->
    </div><!-- end #Accordion2 -->
    </div><!-- end #Accordion1 Content -->
      </div><!-- end #Accordion1 .AccordionPanel -->
    </div><!-- end #Accordion1 -->
    Too style Accordian 1 & 2 so their tabs both have different backgrounds and Hover background when the content panel is open and closed you have to style it in the CSS they following way;
    CSS
    #Accordion1  .AccordionPanelTab {
    height:75px;
    width:285px;
    background:url(../images/package_spry_tab_bg.png);}
    #Accordion1 .AccordionPanelTabHover,
    #Accordion1 .AccordionPanelOpen .AccordionPanelTabHover {
    height:75px;
    width:285px;
    background:url(../images/package_spry_tab_bg_RO.png);}
    #Accordion2  .AccordionPanelTab {
    height:44px;
    width:469px;
    background:url(../images/packages_spry.png);}
    #Accordion2 .AccordionPanelClosed .AccordionPanelTabHover,
    #Accordion2 .AccordionPanelOpen .AccordionPanelTabHover {
    height:44px;
    width:469px;
    background:url(../images/packages_spry_ro.png);}
    Normally when styling two seperate spry accordions you can just use the following code
    #Accordion1  .AccordionPanelTab {
    height:75px;
    width:285px;
    background:url(../images/package_spry_tab_bg.png);}
    #Accordion1 .AccordionPanelTabHover,
    #Accordion1 .AccordionPanelOpen .AccordionPanelTabHover {
    height:75px;
    width:285px;

    The only difference with styling a Spry accordion within another to ensure they have different hover backgrounds when the content panel is open and closed is ".AccordionPanelClosed".
    Hope this helped anyone who was having the same issue I was.

  • Spry CSS keeps crashing DW

    I added a spry tabbed panel to a page... then I opened the CSS file and made a change, then clicked to switch back to the original file to see the change and DW crashes.
    I restart, open the CSS file, make the change and hit CTRL+S. DW crashes.
    There is something going on here with this file that keeps causing DW to crash.  Has anyone run into this before?

    I'm not sure if this could be the cause, but there is a bug in CS3 (not sure what you are using) :
    The 8KB bug
    This is a very rare bug that causes Dreamweaver to crash during operation, and then crash repeatedly each time you try to restart the program. It normally affects only Dreamweaver CS3 on Windows, and is caused by the presence of a file that's exactly 8,192 bytes (8KB) or a multiple thereof.
    The solution is to open the file in a text editor and add a few extra characters (new lines or a comment will do). Save the file, and restart Dreamweaver.
    If the file causing the problem is an image or other type of media file, edit it so that it's no longer an exact multiple of 8KB
    Other than that, are you using the latest Spry Version?

  • Creating multiple  Spry menu bars in one site

    I've been creating a website and I am required to use multiple templates to manage all the different sections of the site.  To make it much less of a hassle, once I created one template, I simply saved that template as another template so I would not have to start all over again.  On the first template I created a spry menu bar with a certain amount of buttons.  And because I created the other templates with that template, those templates had the same menu bar containing the same settings.  The problem is, because of the specified settings of the spry menu bar, if I change the amount of buttons from the original to one less, the whole bar on that template will get off center and messed up because the settings for the menu bar are not set to that certain amount of buttons, but if I change the settings to suite that amount of buttons, then the settings for all the templates change and that messes up the other menu bars on those templates because they have a different amount of buttons.  Currently my templates all contain 10 buttons and I am wanting to create a new menu bar with only about 4 - 6 buttons.  I thought going up to insert and inserting a brand new menu bar would do the trick but when I did that it inserted a menu bar that had all the settings of the already-created menu bar, (ie same background images, and hovers, etc.) as well as the width which, because the width is suited for 10 buttons, it does not properly make the default 4 button menu bar center correctly.  And if I try to change the settings on this menu bar then the same thing happens with everything changing and getting messed up.
    So after this long explanation, my question is, how can I insert multiple spry menu bars into one site that are not correlated with each other in terms of all the settings so that when changed, will not affect each other?  I am guessing I am having this problem because I created all the templates from one template so they are all interlocked, but the page that I tried to insert the brand new menu bar on was not created from any of the templates and was the first page I made at the very start.
    http://phonytrojanmusic.zxq.net/ Here is the link to the site. The first page that opens up is the page that I tried to insert the brand new menu bar on.  If you click on band choir or elementary you will see the menu bars with 10 buttons that are all interlocked in terms of settings.  Also, I'd like to note that if I delete a button in one template, it does not delete that same button in the other templates, nor does it add a button to the other templates if I add one.  Only the physical appearance changes because the settings are meant for only one amount of buttons.  Sorry for the novel!

    Alright well I just tried to use 2 complete different templates.  I created one brand new template from scratch, added the menu bar, gave it an ID of "band", and configured it to suite 10 buttons accordingly.  Then I started off from scratch again with a starting html page with a different css style sheet and added the menu bar and gave it a different ID of "choir" but the settings of the two different bars still act as one set of settings!  I dont know how to fix this problem.  Please tell me what to post if anything will help you. Im guessing the solution is very simple but I have tried everything.
    here is the code for the two different menu bars (one in each template)

    I currently do not have any links attached to any of the buttons in the choir bar.  Something went wrong and now I have to make the whole site over again so it is not very accessible.  Please post back asap!

  • Trying to dynamically load CSS for project at compile time via config XML file to select CSS file.

    I'm using the same code base to compile different versions of a project. Each project has different base fonts. I've created multiple css files that use the same style names. The idea being that in the code I reference the style names, then the loaded CSS determines which font (and size, color, etc) is used for each style name.
    The CSS files are compiling to SWFs, and those SWFs are referenced in config.xml files. Before compiling, I select the config file to use.
    I am loading the CSS SWF files via the StyleManager in the Application.mxml, like so:
      styleManager.loadStyleDeclarations( _contentData.elements( 'cssPath' ).@path )
    The path traces out correctly as:
    assets_embed/styles/project2.swf
    For some reasone I must include an fx:Style line in the Application.mxml file or no fonts are recognized. Example:
      <fx:Style source="assets_embed/styles/project1.css"/>
    If I reference the css for project one (as done above) then most, but not all, styles work. Some styles reference the fonts from the project 1 css, others properly use fonts from project 2 swf. If I point to the CSS for the project I'm compiling in the <fx:Style > tag then all fonts work, but that defeats the goal of using XML rather than code to identify the styles.
    So, why do I need the fx:Style line if the css is being loaded via StyleManager?
    Why is there "cross talk" between style definitions?
    Is there a better way to select styles at compile time?

    I read this quickly so I might have missed a detail.  I think your describing an issue with recent Flex releases that is described in the fine print somewhere.  If you don't have any fonts embedded in the main app and are only bringing in fonts embedded in CSS SWFs, you have to force-link the EmbeddedFontRegistry by adding something like this to the main app's script block.
    import mx.core.EmbeddedFontRegistry; EmbeddedFontRegistry;
    (Yes, "EmbeddedFontRegistry" is in there twice, once to define the fully qualified name, the other to create a class dependency to force the linking).

    HI
    i restored a sharepoint web 80 application in our test domain
    and after when i browse the new web application
    it says
    Cannot make a cache safe URL for "1025/styles/Themable/corev4.css", file not found. Please verify that the file exists under the layouts directory.

    Hi  adil,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you encountered the error “Cannot make a cache safe URL for "1025/styles/Themable/corev4.css", file not found. Please verify that the file
    exists under the layouts directory.” .
    The issue happens in
    We have customized master page
    In the master page, we use path the script/style file like this: <SharePoint:CssRegistration name="<% $SPUrl:~SiteCollection/Style Library/coe/mainCOE.css%>"
    runat="server"/>
    While using the dynamic path in a multiple languages enabled site, language Id(1033 etc) will be added to the path automatically. That cause the file to be not found.
    To solve the issue, please download  the Arabic language pack http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3411 ,
    install it on  your SharePoint and refresh your browser.

  • How to apply different styles to multiple spry collapsible panels?

    Hello every.
    I would really appreciate some help with this problem I am coming up against.
    I am creating a website which has multiple Spry collapsible panels in it. I applied the styles I wanted for the first Spry collapsible panel I did in the styles panel with no problems what so ever.
    However when I go to apply the styles I want for my second and every other Spry collapsible panel, when I applied the style I wanted it changed the first panel I did. I’ve tried giving all my collapsible panels different Div ID’s but no luck. I just can’t seem to apply different styles to each of my collapsible panels.
    Can someone please advise me how to do this?
    Thank you in advance for your help.
    Kind regards
    Elliot

    I've figured the most of it out.
    By giving the Spry Collapsible Panel that you want to style differently a separate ID and class and then duplicating the original Spry Collapsible Panel style in the CSS style panel on the right and renaming them the same name as the panel you want to style differently it will allow you to style it differently to all the other panels apart from the Hover.
    I've tried everything! Below is the code I'm using for the two Collapsible Panels I want to style Differently.
    I only want to have different Tab backgrounds and Hover backgrounds
    1st Spry CollapsiblePanel
    Code:
    <div id="CollapsiblePanel1" class="CollapsiblePanel">
        <div class="CollapsiblePanelTab" tabindex="0">Tab</div>
        <div class="CollapsiblePanelContent">Content</div>
    CSS Style
    .CollapsiblePanelTab
    .CollapsiblePanelTabHover, .CollapsiblePanelOpen .CollapsiblePanelTabHover
    2nd Spry CollapsiblePanel
    Code:
    <div id="CollapsiblePanel2" class="CollapsiblePanel2">
      <div class="CollapsiblePanel2Tab" tabindex="0">Tab</div>
      <div class="CollapsiblePanel2Content">Content</div>
    </div>
    .CollapsiblePanel2Tab
    .CollapsiblePanel2TabHover, .CollapsiblePanelOpen .CollapsiblePanel2TabHover
    As I said the Tab works both I have two seperate background images for the Tabs but I can only seem to have one background for the hover.
    Has anyone any ideas on how to get around this?
    Kind regards
    Elliot

  • XML (RSS) Spry Dataset File Works in Preview But Not Over Internet

    hello
    I am trying to build a custom feed reader using the Spry framework in Dreamweaver CS4 and everything seems to go smoothly until I actually host the file (with the accompanying js and css files) and try to view it over the internet
    previewing from DW shows everything working the way it should
    I feel like I am missing something obvious ... but not sure what
    thanks for any help!

    Hi, i have a similar problem..
    These URL returns a XML:
    1) http://www.bolsadesantiago.com/intradayServlet?symbol=IPSA
    2) http://www.valorfuturo.com/contenidos_vf/proyectos/clientes/penta/titularnoticias.asp
    I use a CS4 and both works in preview, but only first works over internet (IE7).
    I suspect that 2° has a problem of syntax XML, but work with jQuery.
