Multiple Templates?

Question

We have 3 sales groups, each has its own marketplace. Each
would like their own identity and style on 'their' part of the
website. I have just installed PMM II so I can give them their own
navigation bar from the home page and would like to create an
individual identity for each group when a customer arrives in
'their' section. Can I do this with 3 templates or will I just have
to duplicate the look for each new page I start?
Would it be easier to create 3 individual websites and just
use the corporate url to go to a Home page which gives a link to
these websites?

You can do it either way.
If the first way is your choice, all three Templates would be
in the
Templates folder at the root level of the site. Each sales
group's "site"
would be in a subdirectory, e.g.,
http://www.example.com <---
The corporate site
http://www.example.com/sales1
<--- group1
http://www.example.com/sales2
<--- group2
http://www.example.com/sales3
<--- group3
If you do 3 individual sites, the folder hierarchy would be
the same, but
each group would have their own Templates folder at the root
level of their
own site. WARNING - do not use ROOT RELATIVE links in such an
arrangement
(I'm assuming that the folder hierarchy would actually be
what I listed
above). When you define these sites, make the host directory
field of
sales1's Remote site definition have '/sales1' appended. Do
the same with
/sales2 and /sales3.
