Multiple Text Size Change

Hi,
I have a video track filled with multiple (200) text entries. I need to be able to increase the text size for each one by 5pts. I know I can click change move onto the next one but is there an easy way of doing this. I was able to adjust all there locatio by pasting attributes can you do this with the size of text.
Thanks.

I can't speak for the old iMovie 4, but it works on iMovie 6 is you shift-select all the ones you want to change, and then apply the change.
I tried all the multiple selection things I could think of, but the problem is that iMovie 4, when you select a title, also selects the text. So even if you could apply a change to all the title clips, you would be applying the same text to each one - not gtreat. But so far I haven't been able to effect changes to multiple titles this way so they must have changed it in the later version.
What with the new bug I discovered yesterday (the audio track and the video track's visual sync is off after seven minutes, even though the two are in sync to the ear - in this case, they are FOUR friggin' seconds off! The visual representation of the audio track is ahead of where the sound is at that point even though the audio and video tracks end at the same time visually. Yeesh!) I'm thinking I need to try to find an old copy of Final Cut somewhere, one that will run on my machine. I got my iLife off Craigslist, a must for people like me with virtually no disposable income. Then again, I don't know squat about Final Cut. I just know that what's available on the Mac for video editing on the lowest spectrum really seems to be less than usable for my purposes.

  • Can I format a paragraph in illustrator, with multiple text sizes?

    Hi,
I have a number of paragraphs in illustrator that have the following...
    a title = Arial bold 18 pt.
body text =Arial reg 14 pt.
    and indents with bullets
It seems that illustrator only supports one font, size, color, etc. for each Paragraph style. I would like to be able to set the title to Arial bold, 18pt, Blue, and the body text to Arial regular, 14pt, white, with different leadings, within the same style setting. Does anyone know if this can be done?
    Thank you in advance.
    Knewt

What are you guys talking about? Since when does InDesign support multiple text attributes for a single Paragraph Style? At least in CS3 InDesign's Paragraph Styles have settings for nested Character Styles and drop caps, but you still define one set of text attributes for the Paragraph Style itself.
In principle it's basically the same in Illustrator. If you want to actually have multiple text treatments in one paragraph, you apply Character Styles to text ranges within the paragraph. Illustrator's implementation of it is pure crap in that inheritance and style redefinition does not work correctly, but the fact remains you certainly can have multiple text treatments in one paragraph, but it is not done with a single Paragraph Style. If using Styles (as you should) it is a matter of nesting Character Styles within paragraphs that have Paragraph Styles applied.
But I strongly suspect that what Mr. Harley is describing is not really a single paragraph at all. He wants different text sizes, different indents, and bullets. That clearly involves multiple paragraphs.
Harley, in part of your description of what you want, you seem to be referring to a single textframe object as a "paragraph." A paragraph is a range of text separated by a carriage return. When you define and apply a Paragraph Style, the carriage return defines the range of the Style. When you define and apply a Character Style, the selected range of characters define the range of the Style. You can use multiple Character Styles within a paragraph that has a Paragraph Style applied.
But you are talking about the need to define several Paragraph Styles to use in one block of text, or "story" (one or several textframe objects). You just need to define three Paragraph Styles:
    Heading: Arial Bold 18 pt.
    Body: Arial Regular 14 pt.
BodyBullet: Same as Body, but with different indents. Set a tab at the bullet location and at the left indent. (You type your bullet characters; you don't just select "bullets" from a setting.)
Type all your text, using carriage returns as you would expect. Each carriage return marks the beginning of a new paragraph. (This is as true in Illustrator as it is in InDesign, Word, or anything else.) Click inside a paragraph and apply the appropriate Paragraph Style.
Now suppose you want to use a convention within your document that emphasizes certain words or phrases by painting them magenta instead of whatever color is defined in the Paragraph Style. Create a Character Style. Name it Emphasis. In that Style, set the character color to magenta. Now swipe across a word in one of your paragraphs and apply the Emphasis Character Style. The whole paragraph still has the Paragraph Style you applied to it. But now the color of a few characters is overridden by the Character Style you have applied to those characters.
Again, like many things in Illustrator, its implementation of Paragraph Styles and Character Styles is very sloppy compared to other programs. But it is not true that 'InDesign can apply multiple text treatments in a single Paragraph Style, and Illustrator can't.' At least not up to CS3.

What is the native resolution of your display? What bootloader are you using?
I tried setting the kernel params of video to my native resolution. My native resolution is 1920x1080@144 and I'm using GNU Grub as a boot loader.

Sorry about that, I'm not sure what to refer to it as. Its the default terminal that shows up when you log on without using any graphics or any of that.
cedeel wrote:If you're going to be using the proprietary driver, you won't be able to use KMS as others have said.
That means that your TTY will be a lower resolutioon. So if you need your TTYs at native resolution, the best thing to do would probably be to use the open drivers.
I don't think think the open drivers support for 3d acceleration on the newer graphics card are as good as the proprietary drivers. Also, I do not need to have native resolution on my TTY's but it would be a major convenience to have it display at native resolution.

  • Text to Speech on iPod or Text Size Changes?

    Hello all,
I work at a museum which uses iPod's as the basis for audio guide tours. Today, I met a person who could not use the iPod because they were almost blind.
I am trying to find out if there is a way to have "text to speech" like in the Mac OS. Or if not, is there a way to have the text made larger in the menus.
I have found applications like iSpeak It that let you take text to speech bites into iTunes, but nothing better.
If I could find a way to help this situation, that would be wonderful for many people who use audio guides and are vision impaired.
    Cheers!

I thought that perhaps that I might be able to do something like make the iPod screen have a white text on black mode (like in the Mac OS X accessability mode), would this be possible?
Can anyone else think of anything when using an iPod to help vision impaired people to use an iPod?
    Cheers,
    Nicholas

  • How to animate a change in text size...

I am creating a simple animated GIF in Photoshop. I want a line of text to start from a large size font and then scale down to a smaller size. Right now, if I scale the text manually, the text size changes in all my frames. How can I accomplish this?

In CS3 Extended you can animate Opacity, Position, Style and Text Warp but not scale/size.
The only way I can see to do it is frame by frame animation using layer visibility and different size text on each layer.
    not fun!

No, you can't add multiple text sizes for the body. You need to overide the text size set on the body by specifying it in one of your other css selectors
    So for instance:
If I wanted text a different size in a section of my page it would need to be in a container with a 'class' or 'id' assigned to it
    <div id="textSize2">Some text</div>
    #textSize2 {
    font-size: 20px;
    <td class="textSize3">Some text</td>
    .textSize3 {
    font-size: 16px;
Maybe you are takling about doing a complete change of text size in terms of assessibility whereby the user can choose small , medium or large text to view the site?
In that case you would need to switch a set of linked stylesheets on mouse click

  • Change text size in multiple titles

To me, iMovie's most glaring weaknesses seem to fall under its text handling abilities, despite all the glitzy swoopy things you can do.
I have several screens of rolling titles in a project and last night I decided to change the text size. It's impossible! No, you can change it, but how do you get them all the same size when iMovie doesn't give you any exact type sizes, just that stupid slider? The only way I've been able to do it so far is trial and error, and it's faster to simply recreate the titles than do that, there's so much error involved.
So I thought maybe there's a way of applying a style to multiple titles...is there?

  • Unable to change text size

So I have been unable to change my text size in itunes. When i switch between "large" and "small" text sizes the size remains the same, however the size of the menus and the itunes stores is small. I theorize it was probably some program I installed but since I am nearly constantly adding and removing programs I can't pinpoint which one it was. If anyone can tell me how to fix it or point me in the right direction that would be great. I am including my system info as well as a screen of itune. Thanks.

  • Changing text size in form field (rich text formatting enabled)

    Hi all,
I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I've created an interactive PDF with form fields with "Rich Text Formatting" enabled.
My client has filled in the fields and would like to make the text bigger. When right-click, there are only options to change the text style (bold, italics etc) but nothing to change the text size. I'm not keen on disabling and then re-enabling the "Rich Text Formatting" options as the text have been formatted (bold, italics, superscript, subscript etc) and approved, and this will remove all the existing formatting.
    Can anyone help?

    Thanks so much!! Really appreciated!
Strangely enough, I found the Form Field Text Properties dialogue box by randomly choosing "Hyperlink" in the right-click options. Who would have thought!

How do I change text size in a check box in CS3?

While I've never done it myself for a checkbox, components
have a textField property which is essentially the texfield inside
the component. You probably need to apply a TextFormat to it to
    change the size.
But if this involves the same problem you had yesterday,
where you couldn't change the width of the checkbox, I doubt you'll
have much luck changing the text size

Open the New Document Profile that you use the most (from HD>Users><yourname>>Library>Application Support>Adobe>Adobe Illustrator CS5>en_US>New Document Profiles) or the equivalent path in Windows. Then go to Window>Type>Character Styles and double click on the [Normal Character Style] at the top of the list and modify the settings there to your liking. Save the document and restart AI.
