Multiple titles = multiple song files? Or not?

I transferred all my music from a file in my pc to iTunes. Now the titles show multiple times. Have they been duplicated? How do I stop this?

Not a trivial task. You will essentially have to create a UFL that converts wide char to MBCS and passes it back to report formulas. E.g. all of the fields that need to be translated will have to be in a formula - that is how UFLs work.

• Multiple OAM Files are not working on the layout, and now they are cropping? Need Help fast...

So an early thing since day one with muse has been when inserting HTML the preview is sometimes off, and even the container box is sometimes forced to be similar like a previously installed HTML bit. I figured this new site I am making at work could use some Adobe Edge Animate functions for rollovers and drop downs, and as I set this up I am getting errors the more OAM files I insert onto the page. The previews I was kind of already expecting to not work correctly, but no I am getting a situation where my OAM file will not display properly because of the containing box of the first Element I inserted. Here are some pictures explaining the issues...

This is a huge part of our site, please hurry with a bug fix or please dear god give me some tips for this work around. I am searching everywhere and getting nothing

• Can't listen to an entire song in Itunes. Randomly just skips the song in different places while it's playing. Song file is not corrupted - even doing it on a new song I just bought from Itunes today. Help :(

I just bought a new laptop and transferred over all of the songs. But I checked the ones that skip in Itunes in another music player and they work fine there - the files are not corrupted - and like I said, even a brand new song I just bought skips. The priority for Itunes is set to High. This comptuer has very high specs (it's a Lenovo IdeaPad) and the processing performance never even goes above 10%. I am a Disc Jockey and this is a severe problem. Please help...
If downgrading to a previous version of Itunes is the answer, how do I go about doing that? I'm currently running 10.5

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

• Failed iPhone sync as iTunes states random song files "could not be read". I politely ask for your help!

Hello
Been having this problem for awhile now:
When I attempt to sync my iPhone, iTunes will start syncing but after every few songs it syncs, iTunes interrupts the sync with a message saying the file could not be imported since it could not be read. I can go to that song iTunes can't import in my list of music and play it in iTunes and verify that it isn't corrupted.
Does anyone know what the issue is? Here is what I have tried so far:
* Restore entire iPhone
* Remove iTunes and all preferences, re install and re import music library
* Change file import settings to iTunes Plus AAC conversion (Not sure this even does anything)
* Manually converting EVERY song (Shift+Clicking) to AAC
* Attempt to sync music manually (e.g. only checked items)
The message is as follows: iTunes could not copy "such and such song" to the iPhone because the file could not be read. This error happens with a different song each time I remove the previous one indefinitely, I have over 3000 songs, and it would take me days before I could manually remove each song iTunes deems unworthy of syncing (if at all). And this ONLY happens if I am fortunate enough for iTunes to even attempt to sync the tracks, usually it just skips that step entirely saying it's been completed, with no music actually transferred...
I am leaving on an international trip soon and I very much want to have hard copies of my music with me, I've been wracking my brain for ages now and haven't been this frustrated since freshmen year of highschool.

* iPhone 5S - iOS 7.1.1
* Windows 8.1
* iTunes 11.2.2
TL;DR: Everytime I try to sync my songs onto my iPhone, I get an error message that says "iTunes could not copy "(song name)" to the iPhone because the file could not be read or written." and then it stops syncing completely, so the rest of the songs after that don't get put on my iPhone. File is playable and not corrupt.

Hi skyvandyk,
It sounds like one of your music files may have been corrupted at some point and when trying to sync that song the iPhone is unable to do so. I know this must be a frustrating issue for you.
What I would suggest is that you first attempt to sync your iPhone without that particular song. To do this you will need to manually manage the music that goes to your iPhone. This article will tell you how -

If the song was purchased from the iTunes store you can delete it and download again at no cost, if it is still available. See this article -
Download past purchases

If the song came from a CD or another source you may have to get it again from that source.

• Song file "could not be found."

I've been using iTunes and my iPod problem free for a couple years now. I've had a house guest staying with me/sharing my computer, and today was unable to access many of my songs in my iTunes library. I re-installed the most recent iTunes program, which didn't change the outcome.
When I click on random songs, I get a message that says, "The song 'xyz' could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" The song is not located in previous iTunes libraries or in the music folder on my hard drive. When I did check the music folder, only a fraction of my music is located there. I'm not sure where the rest is or how to find it.
Clearly I've learned why backing up is so critical the hard way; is there anything I can do to recover my music/solve this problem? I have all of it on my iPod, but I'm assuming if I connect that to the computer, I'll mess it up too.

yes, I'm having the same problem, instead every time i open itunes it will have ti missing icon beside the song. when i quit itunes and reopen it it tells me the same thin only it is all different songs but the other one are no longer there, they are MIA. Ever since iTunes 9 came out all I've had is problems with it. Any way to get my music back?

• Song files are not found??????

I have vista, I open my itunes library and click on a song and a pop up comes up and says, " The song --- could not be heard because the orginal file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" I click yes and it opens up my music folder and I have a couple of things but I clicked on one, the one that shows all my musi but.... nothing! What happened. Should I go to my apple store. On my ipod it has all my songs so should I have a new account? help

hi
i have the same issue with missing song files - i identify a few specific ones. However Id id check that my Itunes folder is in the "music" folder.
The 2 changes that happened are:
1. I migrated to a new windows laptop (vista) and did the migration of all files, program s etc... using pcmover from laplink (www.laplink.com)
2. I did a sync with my ipod shuffle on the new laptop,
I have currently 3 computers authorized. however
1. the desktop pc on which I originally did all the purchases as crashed, an di dont use it.
2. the old laptop is not used anymore either
3. the new laptop is my current system and library where i am seeing this issue.
any thoughts from you guys as to why I would be still experiencing this "missing songs" issue.
thx

• ITunes Song File Will Not Upload To iTunes Match/Cloud

I have two song files that are failing to upload. Both files play fine. I have tried creating new AAC files. I have reimported the files from the CD using error check. I have turned off iTunes match and turned it back on, I have deauthorized the computer and reauthorized it. Other files on the CD imported correctly and uploaded. I have tried adding both files one at a time. One file is 6 MB and one file is 4.5 MB.
iTunes Match gets to step of uploading the file, hesitates, stops and restarts the process. Thanks for any suggestions,
Ken

Hi,
These are 2 song files imported from 2 CDs using iTunes as AAC MP4 files. All the other songs on the 2 CDs have uploaded to the iTunes Match cloud with no problems.
Importing one of the songs as MP3 (4.5 MB became 4.1 MB) worked. However, when I repeated the process with the second problem file, iTunes Match again fails at the upload step. Seems to be random, but your suggestion worked for one out of two.
Thanks. Can anyone think of anything else to try?

• Keep getting multiple song files every time I open ITunes

Argh. Every time I open ITunes I have two or three of the same song in my Library. What's worse, when I plug in my Ipod, I end up with two or three copies of the same song on my Ipod as well.
Help!
Much thanks,

McAfee AntiVirus by any chance? See the thread Why does iTunes delete my itunesprefs.xml?

• Original song files could not be found or located

Hi,
I just went to play some music in my iTunes library and nothing would play. Many songs have little exclamation marks next to the numbers along the left-hand column. When I click on songs without exclamation points they don't play either. Each time I click on a song a message box pops up saying that iTunes is unable to locate the file. It asks if I want to locate the file. Clicking yes leads me to a little finder window but I can't find the files.
I went to the Finder, Music folder, iTunes folder, iTunes Music folder and there are only a few folders left in there from things I purchased over the last few days. Those songs will play.
The only strange thing I've done in the past few days is to try to figure out how to share files with my wife as two different users on the same computer. I moved some files into the Public folder and the Shared folder, and then changed some permissions from Read Only to Read and Write. Maybe that goofed things up.
Any advice?
Thanks,
Dave

Yes, there are ways to do that...I'm passing on info from one of our seasoned members in the forum.

The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, s and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod

• I have multiple songs that only play part on my pc even though I purchased them.

I have multiple songs that will not play all the way through. They are all songs I have purchased and do not have a buy option next to them. I lost my ipod touch and only have my pc to work with now.

There is no such thing as "Adobe Reader Pro Pack". What exactly did you purchase?
Did you download it? Did you install it?

• Import multiple songs

hi,
i just got a new computer and i have all of my music on an external hard drive. i was wondering if there was a way to select all the songs in a file to import instead of one by one which will take forever. one by one is all i could figure out. please help!!
thanks,
~jhanek

If the songs are all in one folder you can use the Add Folder to Library option and that will add the whole contents of the folder: iTunes for Windows- Importing music and video already on your computer
If iTunes for Windows works like iTunes for Mac (which I guess for the most part it does), you can also hold down the shift key and highlight multiple song files in Window Explorer then drag and drop the selection to the iTunes source list to add them.

• Problem using inputFile when a file is not required

I have a page that has a table component with the following fields
Title - inputText (required)
File - inputFile (not required)
File URL - inputText (not required)
The code for the input File is this:
<af:inputFile id="OrigReviewAttachmentsFileDoc"
label="#{bindings.OrigReviewAttachmentsFileDoc.hints.label}"
visible="#{bindings.OrigReviewItemsStatName.attributeValue == 'New' && row.bindings.ClsfnCode.attributeValue != null && row.bindings.ClsfnCode.attributeValue == 'PEND'}"
valueChangeListener="#{OrigReviewAttachmentsFileDocFileHandlerInTable.uploadFile}"
binding="#{OrigReviewAttachmentsFileDocFileHandlerInTable.usesUploadIndicator}"
shortDesc="#{bindings.OrigReviewAttachmentsFileDoc.hints.tooltip}"
partialTriggers="OrigReviewAttachmentsClsfnCode"/>The problem I am having is that under certain circumstances (like the file is too large) I want the user to enter a File URL instead of actually uploading a file. But when I save the row with the other 2 fields on the screen filled in and not the inputFile I get the error, "Cannot Find the File Specified." Is there any way that I can tell it, that if it doesn't have a path, to not try to upload a file?
I am using:
JDeveloper 11.1.1.4.0
Oracle 11g with OrdSys.OrdDoc column to hold the file.
Any help would be appreciated,
Michelle

I figured out the problem, and it was caused by JHeadstart. I placed a default display value in JHeadstart for the download link. This caused a default values bean to be created by jheadstart and that bean was what was causing my problem. The download link had a display value, but not a valid path. I removed the default value, re-generated the screen and it is totally fixed. I have pretty much decided that it is never a good idea to use a default value in Jheadstart.
Thanks for your help,
Michelle

• Installed new iTunes and it says some of the songs files are lost

i got a new iTouch for christmas, but had to install a new software for it. after a bunch of my songs' files could not b found. now they dont work. i bought them off iTunes so shouldn't the files be on my computer?

Hi Can you tell me how you figured it out. Think I've got same trouble except it's on all tunes and even when using itunes from and ext hard drive which completely freaks me out.

• Information saved in song files

Recently I had to re-install windows in my computer. I had a back up of my music library file from a couple of months ago. I did not loose any songs as I they are in a external disk.
I am thinking about which way to re-install iTunes. Since my back up itunes library file is not up to date I don't mine re-creating my playlists. However, I want to keep all the specific song information like:
- My rating
- Comments
- Art work
- BPM
- Genre
- etc (all the stuff you get in "Get Info")
- (I don't mine loosing "last time played" or "date added")
is the above information stored in the songs files and not in the itunes library file?
Besides the playlists, what else do I loose if I start with a new itunes library file?
Thanks,

How do I save multiple songs as one file?

Mhoopes wrote:

There are two ways:
1. Put the individual song files into a folder, and then Zip the folder. This creates a single .zip file. (Note however, that a .zip file is not playable in a normal player: it is just a "holder" for the song files.)
2. Use an audio editor such as Audacity to concatenate the individual song files into a single song file. This creates a single file can be played in a normal player such as iTunes.
Technique #2 is the one normally used to create a continuous mix.
