No it is not possible,
you can have different gorups
or
in case of Flat File datasource you can copy the datasource give it a different name and then create a new transformation.
not sure how this works on R/3

Okay, I must have misunderstood your message, I was thinking BI 7 and data targets .. like cubes and DSO's.
In 3.x, assign your datasource to a single infosource. Then assign that infosource to multiple data targets by creating update rules and assigning your infosource to each/all of them.
In this way, you shouldn't need multiple infosources per datasource unless you have a special situation that calls for it.

Why won't data merge allow more than one data source at a time?

I need to number tickets, 8 up on a tabloid page, in InDesign (CS5)
I have found out how to use data merge, but it won't allow me to select more than one data source at a time, therefore, making me use 800 sheets of paper instead of 100. That's not acceptable!! Is there a way to merge the pdfs if I make 8 different ones in the places they need to be? Each file that I export will have 100 pages, so is there a way to merge the files to put all eight tickets on each sheet, sequentially? This is driving me nuts!!!!!!!

Past users have solved this frustrating problem. You can find their solutions with a Google search like "InDesign data merge multiple sequential items on one page" without quotes.

Is retaining hotsynch an option with the pre plus // how to handle syncing 2 devices to one data source

I just bought two Palm Pre plus' from Verizon. I have no need for gmail - is it possible to continue using hotsync with the new device (I have the original Treo 600)?
If not, are people comfortable with their data being "out there" on Google's servers?
Finally, if you have two devices for your family can you sync both devices to one data source?

Assuming you mean you wish to continue using Palm Desktop or M$ Outlook to sync your data to your new Pre phones, you should review this stickied thread near the top of this board. It discusses several third-party solutions for continuing to use desktop synchronization instead of using a Google account. Can't speak for everyone, but I am comfortable with my stuff on Google.

You can easily do this with Google, by one of two ways I think: either setting up each family member's account separately, directly on your device, or by sharing the Google calendars in your own google.com account.

Can a master data will have loading from more than one data source

Dear gurus,
I have a master data object which has every day loading from one particular data source. Now I got a requirement to load data from another data source. If we load data from more than one data source , will there be any problem with data? Will it accept loading from more than one data source.?

Hi Ram,
We can load the data to target morethan one datasource.Thats advantage in BI compare to BW. It will accept loading from more than one datasource.but you have to take care about characteristic and attributes are the same in both datasources like that.

We configure our portal EP 6.0 with the CRM Dev system, such that the users created in CRM Dev system reflect in portal as well.
now the problem is in CRM Test system. when we create users, users are going to create in CRM test system.but our portal is configured with CRM Dev system.
is there any way to configure portal with both CRM Dev system users and CRM test system users.

Binding a component to more than one data source in Design Studio 1.3

Hi All,
Is it possible to bind more than one data source to a component in Design Studio 1.3?
I have 2 Bex queries- one having the current year data(say 06.2013-05.2014) and the other having the previous year data(say 06.2012-05.2013).
I want to create a column chart with x axis labels as 06,07,08.............01,02,03,04,05.
The 05 will show 2 columns for 05.2014 and 05.2013
The 04 will show 2 columns for 04.2014 and 04.2013
and so on
The 06 will show 2 columns for 06.2013 and 05.2012.
Can this be achieved in Design Studio if only one data source is possible for a column chart?

I don't see where this is possible out of the box as the properties for the chart show only one data source
Is the data coming from one InfoProvider? If so could you create one query that shows current year and with a BEx variable/offset show prior year?

Create a logical column with more than one data source

I'm having a problem to create a logical column with more than one data source in Siebel 7.8.
What I want to do is the union of 2 physical tables in one logical table.
For example, I have a "local_clients" table and a "abroad_clients" table. What I want is to have a logical table "clients" with the client data from the 2 tables.
What I've tried is dragging the datasources I need onto the logical column.
However this isn't working because it only retrieves the data from the first data source.

I think it is not possible to do this just by dragging the columns to the logical table. A logical table can have more than one source, but I think each column must have just one direct source column.
I'm not sure, but maybe you should do the UNION SQL to get the data of the two tables. In the physical layer, when you create a new physical table, it's possible to set the "table type" as a "SELECT". I didn't try that, but it seems that it's possible to have the union table in the physical layer.

How to connect crystal report 2013 using sap business one data source

when i try to use data source sap b1 in crystal report 2011 or 2013 i got no list in company database,
when i try to write it manual i got error "Connection failed".
I tried to connect OLE DB and ODBC all work fine with me.

BI Admin Tool and XSLT transformation for XML data source - How it works ?

Hello,
There is a possibility to import data from XML data source using BI Admin Tool.
In the import window we can point XSLT file. What is the purpose of that XSLT field?
Why I am asking ?
I thought it is smth like XSLT processor, but simply it doesnt work.
What I did:
- I pointed XML data source file
- I pointed XSLT transformation file
- Click OK, and still get the message that the XML file structure is not supported
After that I transformed that XML file with some desktop XSLT processor using the same XSLT file, and I tried to connect that file directly using BI Admin tool.Then it works. So it means that the transformation is ok.
So basically one question comes to my mind in that situation:
What is the purpose of XSLT field in BI Admin Tool when it comes to XML data source ?
(it doesnt look like XSLT processor)

Why you need to use XSLT for transforming XML file into ABAP table
Code is a part of some ABAP report. Looks like it is reading a file from file system and updating table after transformation
If you have requirement like you need to read XML file and then insert the data into a SAP table
You can use
File to RFC
File to Proxy scenario using SAP PI.
Please provide more inputs on requirement to help

Click on the datasource and check the target tab to find out target details of the datasource i.e to which managed server data source is targeted.

How to use two RFC models in one Data Source for a Interactive Form UI Elem

I want to use two RFC models (two Function Modules from a SAP Backend system) in one context node of a View Controller in order to pass it as the data source to a Interactive Form UI element. Can I use the data binding mechanism directly or have I to copy the data into a Value Node within the view controller.

You can create a local context node in component controller and copy the data from both the RFC's to this node, then bind it to the view controller. Then you can make this view context node as the datasource of the interactive form.

How do I reference multiple tables in SSAS Data Source View Named Calculation functionality?

Hi SSASers -
On the Data Source View node of SSAS Visual Studio Interface, I want to create a named calculation that references multiple tables. Something like: CASE WHEN tableA.Column1 = 'Y' Then tableB.Column1 ELSE tableB.Column2 End, but the compiler throws an error
here "Deferred prepare could not be completed".
What is the syntax for referencing multiple tables on this node or how else can multiple tables be used to create a calculated value in SSAS? I'm new to SSAS and so far have been building big views and building calculations this way. Another option is the
Calculation tab off the cube node but this calculation will need to be based off of dimensions AND measures so please provide a syntax example here also.

Thanks Jiri! The named query functionality off the Data Source View node is exactly what I was looking for - it's just a view on the SSAS side of things instead of the relational dbase.

Two Pages and Layout from One Data Source

Hi
I need to find a solution where i can based on if a flag in the data is true or not generate a 2nd page which is slightly different in layout to the 1st page.
But at this moment in time i'm struggling to understand how i can even get crystal to generate a 2nd page.
Background is that our system generates a delivery note with a price on it and as a part of new legislation now there has to be a 2nd page provided for the end user. Now we have a data source linked to the report and we would just like to pass in another field which is true/false to print End User Page.
So if the flag is true i need to create a Delivery page and a end user page and if false then only the Delivery page would be generated.
I just need some guidance as to how we may achieve this. Iu2019m ok with crystal but not really done advanced level reports hence why iu2019m probably stuck.

And i suppose i could suppress any other fields from page one based on the same flag. But ideally as they layout is common i was hoping not to have to do a subreport to lay it all out again.
Could i not based on a flag on the group footer or header say if this flag is true start a new page and then on the feilds the ones i want to hide or show say something like if page two and x is ture then show or hide as need be??

I tried the linked universe concept but it is not working when I read in this topic in the universe design tool guide it indicated that
both universes should have the same database I cote from this book
("The core universe and derived universe use the same data account, or database, and the same
RDBMS.")
I also checked in the designer help it says the same condition
