Multiple UOM

Hi Gurus
I have material in SRM which has multiple UOM seen in t.code COMMPR01(under tab "material') but while I am trying to create the SC using option "internal goods/services" system defaults the basic UOM(which is grayed out) and doesnt give the option to change the "UOM".
We are on SRM5.0 ECS.
Please suggest what has to be done if I need to use a UOM from list of "other unit of measure" which is different from base unit of measure.
with regards
Manjunath

Hi Manju
In SRM 5.0 , in shopping cart once you choose material in "Internal Goods and Service" , on the same line item you get a drop down where you can choose UOM like EA, PER etc.
This is the standard functionality. if some custom code is written which is causing issue here then you need to check in the code.

  • Replenishment in SAP Retail - Article with multiple UOM/EAN

    Dear all,
I am using SAP Retail. I have an article with multiple unit of measurement as well as multiple EAN. A good example of this article will be canned soft drinks. It comes in pack size of each, 6, 12, 24. I have only one article number for this soft drink but I maintained multiple UOM and EAN for this article.
When I run auto-replenishment, I can only run it based on one of the packed size (fixed it as the default ordering unit).
Is it possible to run auto-replenishment for the various packed size?
    Best Regards
    Junwen

    Hi,
One suggestion. You can buy it in UOM bottle, minimum qty: 6 bottle. Multiples: Your vendor that decide the package size. When you do the GR then set the UOM of the size package, set a lot size calculation (each 6 units) or rounding profile.

  • Multiple UoM for one Material

    Dear All,
For material 100, in UoM tab if multiple UoM are maintained then how do i load the same to BI. Is there specific DataSource available for it?
Please help for the same ASAP.
    Regards,
    SS

    Thanks Akhan,
But then wat is the use of DataSource 0MAT_UNIT_ATTR ?
Let me explain you the scenario :
Suppose Mat A will have UoM as 1 PAL = 3 EA and Mat B will have 1 PAL = 12 EA. Now suppose for a particular transaction record for a given bill number and bill item i have Mat A Quantity 3 PAL and for another Bill no and item i have mat B Quantity 2 PAL.
And say in query i want to show all Quantities in EA then how do i make sure that for Mat A it will show 33 = 9 EA and for Mat B 122 = 24 EA.
    Please help for this ASAP.

  • Multiple UOM Problem In sales Document

    Dear All,
Plz Tell me how i manage the multiple uom in SAP Sales Doc.
For Example - Inventory Uom = KGS
                          Sales Uom     = NOS
An user wants to book the order in  pound..
    plz give me solution..

You can only have 2 UOM to use for sales document. In your case, apply most used UOM for your sales UOM. I assume it is NOS.  For the less used sales UOM such as lb, you may create UDF to print out document.  However, the inventory keeping will be a big problem in this case.
If your sales has equaly weighted 2 or more UOM to use, you have to consider add-on or SDK.
The other work around would be creating additional item to get the right quatities through BOM to sell. Sales BOM item will only keep track of inventory on component level.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • Same ISO Code to multiple UOM

    Hi Friends,
Can we assign same ISO code to multiple UOM's???. If so, what will be the efeect??
    Thanks in advance,
    Steve.

    Hi,
Assignment of same ISO code to multiple UoM can be done, but the primary code checkbox must be ticked only for one, else would cause conflict for EDI.
The SAP help reads as below:
An ISO code can be assigned to several internal measurement units.
    Use
The ISO code is important for EDI. It is used to convert the internal SAP
measurement units into standard measurement units. Data exchange
via EDI requires internal measurement units to be converted into standard
    measurement units.
Hope the above answers your query.

  • Multiple UOM's

    Hello All,
We have an article which is sold in each but when we sell a box it is actually of 12 eaches (when a multiple quantity of such an  item is sold we sell it as one item only(1box=1box(base unit in this case)) but we do not mention about eaches). Hence we have set up two articles in our systems with different units of measure. But we want to link the two articles somehow so that we will know that 1 box is 12 eaches.
    -Anju

You don't need multiple articles for this. It is possible to use multiple units of meassurement in one article and you can also have a sales price for each UOM/article combination. So in your case you would take each as base UOM and the box as an additional one.
Usually you have also at least one UPC/PLU for such a UOM/article combination.
In your stock reporting everything would be broken down on 'EACH'.
Alternatively you could also implement the box as a sales set of eaches. In this case a BOM is linked to the box, the box would be an own article and and the eaches would be components of this BOM.
However I would recommend to use a UOM of the same article.

  • How to create a multiple UOM using DIAPI

    Hi all,
I need a sample code for multiple Unit Of Measurement (UOM) using DIAPI .Help me....

    Hi there
Normally you cannot use a Button or a Click Box inside a Slidelet. So I'm doubtful you will be able to accomplish this. At least using a Slidelet. Perhaps you could re-think it and create the illusion of a popup window by layering in a Highlight Box or Image object to serve as the background, then presenting the Image and Caption using Advanced or Multiple actions.
    Cheers... Rick

How do i create more than ONE,  "Unit of Measures - for a perticular Service" in a Product Category/Group ?

  • Need Help in SAP Multiple  UOM

    Dear Expert ,
Please provide solution for this scenario .as follows
One of my customer need dual inventory system for the same item . And the condition are below
    * Granites Manufacturing company
    * They want to maintain serial number for individual slap wise ( all the slap not equal length * Height * width )
    * Invoice  should be in CBM (Cubic Meters )  only ( 1590.34 * 10000)
With the above condition if we maintain the inventory UOM is CBM then we can't able enter serial number. For  example ...
    Example-1
Item - A Serial Numbered Item and UOM in CBM
Now i am going to add Good receipt (test scenario) for Item - A ,qty  1590.34 CBM  while adding the document it will show "Cannot select serial numbers; fractional quantity exists in row 1" like this error. so we can't able to maintain serial number
    Example - 2
the same item we are maintaining the UOM as "nos"  there is no problem with serial number . But while booking the invoice we can't able to book per CBM or SF (squre meter )  UOM it should be number only. same case we can't able to calculate the price according to the CBM .
""If u need any additional information let me know""
Please provide any solution for the process.
    Thank you
    Sudhir.J

    Hi Sudhir,
Let me restate what I think your question is to see if I have the right understanding.  Your customer manufactures slabs of granite and they would like to be able to identify each slab individually, and to be able to transact in terms of Cubic Meters and/or Sqare Meters and/or "NOS" (I assume that means "numbers" or "units"?). This is complicated by the fact that each slab has different dimensions.  Is that basically it?  If so it sounds like a perfect opportunity to use batch specific UOMs.  With that functionality you can set up each slab as a batch and then define batch specific UOMs for each batch to account for the different dimensions.
Here is an article that I think does a good job of explaining how the functionality works:
Batch Specific UOM Inventory Management: Stock Keeping with Dynamic Conversion Factor http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a021e088-3428-2d10-799d-a69349248f10?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
    I hope this helps.

  • Multiple UOMs in Direct Entry Input in iStore

When I enter an product number into the Direct Item Entry field within the store and click on 'fill details' I am presented with the correct product but with a drop down of 17 UOMs of which 16 are invalid on the price list. How can I get the UOM drop down to show only valid unit/s of measure thus stopping the users from getting any errors by inputting invalid ones?!
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    AJ

    Hello Dave,
You can use a trick to do this. But has to be done by the user.
The user instead of clicking in Display ( wrench ) button in selection screen, can click on the adjacent button ( settings ). this will pop-up the settings screen, where in general tab click on "Custom" and choose "key". Remember to click the check box at the bottom - "Save settings for next time". press Ok.
Close the workbook and open again, variable will be in "key" mode in inputable way.
This personalized setting is stored at the level of user and infoobject. Hence, user has the option of saving in Key format for particular infoobject ( not variable )
    Hope this works for you.

  • Multiple UOM for Warehouse Tasks

    Experts,
I need to create warehouse tasks in round UOMs - in example, 10 crates, 1 unit, etc. I have a "0WHT" type  packspec determining the following:
    Material 10000:
      1st level: 1 EACH
       2nd level: 1 CRATE = 10 EACHES
3rd level: 1 PALLET = 160 CRATES (this one creates a Handling Unit)
When I need to move 8 eaches (less than one crate), system creates WT in "EACH" UOM (and this is correct). When I need to move 10 or 20 eaches, system creates WT in "CRATES". The problem is when I need to move 15 eaches - it should (or I would like to) create two WTs, one for 1 crate, another for 5 eaches.
It is actually creating a single WT with 1,5 (one and a half) crate.
Is there any way to do this work properly?
    Thanks in advance!
    Tramontano.

    Hi,
In the Storage Type settings: Set the field 'Round Whole Units' to '2' ( Round down to a single Unit) and set the Quantity Classifer as  per se '1'.
In the packspec: On the 2nd level set 'Crate' as Operative UOM. and Quantity classifier as '1'.
You can define Quantity Classifiers under the following Path:
    Extended Warehouse Management->Cross-Process Settings->Warehouse Task->Define Quantity Classifications
Here is further documentation on Quantity Classifiers:
    Quantity Classification in Warehouse
    Definition
Describes in which packaging unit a product is stored in the warehouse.
    Use
The storage type determination pick uses quantity classification to determine the storage type in which the product is stored in the optimal packaging unit.  Quantity classification arises from the packing instruction, according to each quantity required.
The operative unit of measure also arises from the packing instruction, by means of quantity classification. Here, the system determines the quantity classification based on the customizing settings in the storage type, or in the product master on storage type level.  The operative unit of measure is displayed when executing the transaction. If the setting round is set in the warehouse storage type, the system rounds the stock removal quantity based on the operative unit of measure.
    Example
The following quantity classifications are defined for a warehouse:
    1 = loose (individual components)
    2 = cartons
    3 = tiers
    4 = pallets
    Hope that helps
    Thanks

  • Multiple UOMs in Characteristics (CT04)

    Hi Friends,
I have some doubts regarding Characteristics in ECC (created using CT04). The characteristic, say Frequency, can have only one Unit of Measure (Hz) associated with it. However, business users would like to have values entered in other related units (KHz, MHz & GHz). They would like to enter 3 MHz rather than 3,000,000 Hz. Could this be achieved?
    Regards,
    Anil Madhavan

As far as i know  you can only assign 1 UoM to a characteristic. Maybe create additional characteristics for the other UoM's.
