"Multiple Validation errors" message when creating new project in FCPX

As a test I have now managed to change the file format from older quicktime file to .m4v and import into FCPX. I had to use Handbrake to change the file format to .m4v. If a free software can do this then why can't the $300 FCPX - and allow me to import directly? This would save me MANY hours of extra work!
But then, when I try and edit this - first trying to create a new project I get the message "Multiple validation errors occurred" The same message even if I try and custon settings rather than use the default
Does this mean that after all the work and hours it took me to tarnscode the file format, import and then render etc - I will be unable to use FCPX - to edit this footage?

Update on trying to create a new project - and getting "Multiple Validation errors" message
I quit FCPX and tried to use iMovie to make a clip to send to you. Decided against this - and so I opened FCPX again
To my surprise there were now over ten projects - as every attempy had appeared! This is bizarre - why did they not show up when I tried to create them first?
So, I had to delet most and just use one. This appears to be working as a project and is allowing me to edit clips into it.
It will be a reall bummer though if I have to do this every time I need to create a new project!

Error message when creating new Pantones

Hi,
When I create a new pantone then double click on it in the swatches panel I get the following error message:
"Cannot create swatch library. There are no swatches in the file "HARD DRIVE:Applications:Adobe InDesign CS6: Presets: Swatch Libraries:PANTONE+ Solid Coated.acb"
I've checked the folder and the acb file is there so I don't understand why it is not recognising it?

Hi, I have CS6 , Mac OS X 10.7.5 and for the permissions I took a screenshot of what it says.
Where is says 'fetching' that usually says 'imac user' when i check permissions on other files, it is my login name.

Error message when creating new document

I am using Photoshop CS5 on OSX 10.6.8. When I try to create a new file or copy and paste within an open file, I receive this error message: "This is not a valid Portable Document File (PDF) document. It cannot be opened." This does not occur when opening files, only when creating a new document or working within an open document. I have tried deleting preferences and resetting all warning messages but nothing has worked. Help!

My first guess would be that something is busted with your global PDF handling, meaning OSX' own Preview and printer stuff. I believe there's an option to turn off this behavior that Apple introduced with OSX 10.6.x, but as a non-Mac person I can't be more specific than that....

If you get this message when you click on the create button and no window opens then I would trash iMovie preferences, reboot and relaunch iMovie in that order.

Increase the size of SYSAUX tablespace in the CREATE DATABASE statement.
The SYSAUX tablespace needs to be at least 240 MB at the time of database creation. The space requirements of the SYSAUX tablespace will increase after the database is fully deployed
Also the size of the system tablespace should be more and not to 30 MB as in your case

I had the same issue then I found out all you have to do is to set the default view to List before opening any previous or new project and it worked, credit goes to this user below who found the solution.

I was able to resolve by workaround:
1. Closed all open applications
2. relaunch Finder
3. run sudo find / -name ".DS_Store" -exec rm {} \;
4. this removes all .DS_Store old files on the computer
5. launch finder and set default view to "LIST VIEW" as shown here:http://macs.about.com/od/usingyourmac/ss/Setting-Finder-Views-For-Folders-And-Su b-Folders_2.htm
5. rerun the offending application and file chooser works

"Macros in this project are disabled..." error message when creating PDF files

The following error occurs when creating a PDF file using a document that was created from a MS Word 2007 templates.
"Macros in this project are disabled..."
The security settings are set appropriately - it's not that. I have done everything I can think of including asking Microsoft; they say it's not them. It may not be, but I do not know how to get around it. It did not happen before upgrading my templates to the Office 2007 format.
Has this happened to anyone else? There is no coding within th etemplates regartding PDFs. We are using Adobe Professional X. The error only occurs when we use Adobe Pro X.
One thing I just noticed, our templates get the following message when we go to save as a PDF using Adobe:
Acrobat PDFMAker needs to save the file before continuing. Do you want PDFMaker to save the file and continue?

Does it work the first time after you delete your Normal.dotm file? You may be running into the same issue that is detailed in this post Unable to open document. Please check to see if you have read permission for the above file.

Error message when creating a Master File

I have finished editing a multicam clip of a graduation ceremony which is an hour and 27 minutes long. Clients are anxiously awaiting the DVDs/BR discs.
There are six "Rotation" and one "Ribbon" titles and 21 chapter markers in the timeline. None of the chapter markers are placed in a transition.
I'm using 10.0.8 FCPX and OS 10.6.8.
I've tried to create Master File in order to use Toast 11 titanium to make a Blu Ray disc but I've had the following message appear twice midway through the process:
The operation could not be completed because an error occurred when creating frame 152526 (error -1).
Any suggestions as to what I might do to resolve this will be greatly appreciated. Or is there is another method to create a Blu Ray disc, I'd appreciate info.

Go to Preferences and turn off Background Rendering.
Select your project in the library and in the File menu, click on Delete project Render Files; choose All when prompted. Select your event and do the same with the event Render files. In the project use the range tool to select a short section. Try to export that as a test. Don't render before you export.
If that doesn't work, copy the project and paste it into a fresh project. Try another export test.
If that doesn't work, create a new user account.
As for Blu Ray, there is a Share preset if want to check it out. Very simple menus. And the preset can only handle single tracks.

BUG: Advanced Actions duplicated when creating NEW PROJECTS FROM TEMPLATE using Adobe Captivate 8.

Need: CREATE NEW PROJECTS FROM TEMPLATE using Adobe Captivate 8.
Problem: NEW PROJECT (.cptx) duplicates the Advanced Actions originally configured within TEMPLATE FILE (.cpt.).
For example: Template file (.cptl) advanced action "_initializeModule" gets duplicated as "_initializeModule1", "_initializeModule2", "_initializeModule3" within NEW PROJECT. FYI, the original "_initializeModule" advanced action still appears.
MAJOR BUG, what the heck is going on?!?!!! Planning to deploy this template file to use for multiple courses with multiple users, this WILL cause epic confusion across the board.

Similar problem, think they are working on it as well: when dragging a shared action from an external library to a slide or object event, and that action is using a parameter that was already created for another shared action, there will be a new parameter created which really screws up the shared action contrary to this problem. Tip: for the moment do not drag shared actions from an external library immediately to an event, but drag them first to the Library: Reuse Shared Actions in other Projects - Captivate 7 vs. 8 - Captivate blog

Buffering table not up to date error message when creating a Cart

Hi Folks,
We are getting a 'Buffering table not up to date' error message when attempting to create a Cart. The error message only happens to the one end user ID only with the others not getting this error, therefore suggesting that my SRM org plan set-up is correct.
Has anyone come across this previously and what checks are available in the system to resolve this? As mentioned, the attribute check is okay and I have also removed the user ID from the SRM org plan and reassigned again but this has not corrected the problem. We are on SRM 5.

Error message when downloading new itunes

I get an error message when trying to download the new version of iTunes. It says I need to contact my systems administrator because I dont have authorisation. I have already uninstalled itunes and deleted it from my programmes but neither of these have worked. please help!

Error message when syncing new iphone

I am unable to sync my new i phone. every time I try an error message pops up and says you do not have the privilage to make changes.

I actually figured it out a while ago.
Turns out it is not an issue with the iPhone or iTunes.
By process of elimination I deduced it could be a permissions issue with the hard drive and/or folder that holds the contents of my Music Library.
For example, if the "Sharing & Permissions" settings (found in the "Get Info" Window) are set to "Read Only" on the internal or external drive that contains your Music Library for iTunes then you can not write to the disk. Therefore, you do not have privelges to make changes to the internal or external drive and you get the error message when you try to sync with the information on that drive.
Here's the kicker and million dollar questions:
How did the "Sharing & Permissions" settings get changed on my Hard Drive without me doing it?
Why did my iPhone sync fine yesterday and suddenly today the Hard Drive is doing this?
I have to set all priveleges to all drives to "Read & Write" and that just doesn't seem very secure to me.
