Multiprocessing Preview issues after October CC update

After the October CC update to After Effects (12.1.0.168) I am experiencing multiprocessing RAM-preview render issues in compositions regardless of presence of any effects or of the format of the media. This manifests itself as intermittent flashing "offline media" frames during the Ram Preview playback, and sometimes during the ram preview render. When Ram preview playback is paused those of the frames that exhibit such an issue are shown as not rendered in the Ram preview indicator on the composition timeline. Same timelines, when previewed without the multiprocessing enabled do not show such issues.
Compositions set-up in the similar fashion in After Effects CS6 do not show such issues with or without multiprocessing enabled.

Thanks for your message. Just to clarify (so that I don't reply to something completely off topic :-P ), do you mean the Fast Previews setting? If yes, then enabling/disabling has no effect. Please note that this issue only seems to affect RAM Previews, and not final renders.
Dan Ramirez replied to my bug report and asked me to fire a small project file through, which I have done, and I'm more than happy to fire that through to you as well. I also sent through a bit of additional information (I've tried a few different things since submitting the report). I've pasted the bulk of the E-Mail below. Hopefully this helps.
"After my initial bug report, I sent through further information in a second report. Here's that information:
'With regards to settings, there doesn't seem to be a change when I enable/disable Disk Cache, purge memory, or try different configurations for Multiprocessing. The only thing, settings-wise, that seems to make a difference is disabling Multiprocessing altogether.
For a while, it seemed that if you only used footage based on the Animation codec, then the issue wouldn't show up, but that's not the case. It seems to mess with this codec if there's more than one clip in the comp.
For the time being, the only solution seems to be disabling Multiprocessing.'
Since then, I've also tested at different bit depths to no avail. I also discovered that this multiprocessing bug only affects RAM Previews. If you send a comp to the Render Queue with Multiprocessing on, the comp will render perfectly.
I also tried this in a comp using Classic 3D, and Ray-Traced 3D. Whilst in Ray-Traced, I tried Fast Previews mode set to both GPU and CPU. No change in any of these settings.
One thing which did show up, is when I changed from one setting to another (eg: Classic to Ray-Traced), the very next RAM Preview would be perfect. However, as soon as I purged the memory to go back to neutral and then RAM Preview again, we would be back to the bug."

Distiller 9 issue after a new update to Adobe Acrobat Pro (version 9.3)

After installing the update, I was asked to reboot my HP Pavilion dv9617nr Notebook Computer (Windows Vista Home Edition). After the reboot, I was given an error message which explained that the ICC Color profiles in Adobe Distiller 9 could not be found and that I should reinstall my Adobe Acrobat 9 software. My question is: Yes I probably should reinstall my software but this will only be a temporary solution that will become a redundant problem when I again attempt the same update that caused the probllem initially. How can I simply back out the update? What if anything has been done to replace the update that caused the problem. Has there been any posts to this or other forums about this update problem? Please help me resolve this issue.

Adobe Tech support was most helpful on this. First download the updated
Distiller ICC profile files at:
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=4075&fileID= 3790
Unzip the file and copy only the *.icc files (without regard to the subfolders that they are in - in other words, take the files out of each of the subfolders) to the followng folder in Windows 7:
c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\color
These new files will probably overwrite some old ones.
This solved the problem for me.
This is actually the best solution though I found that instead of copying all the .icc files to the windows\sys... folder, all you need to do is copy the 3 Video files from the RGB folder (VideoHD.icc, VideoNTSC.icc, and VideoPAL.icc). Once you add these three files to c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\color you will be good to go.
It seems that this was an error on the part of Adobe in that there is no reason to include Video files for printing. Nevertheless, the distiller will look for these and return the ICC profile error message if those files are not present.

Matlab font issues after installing Java Update 2

Hey everyone,
I am a scientist and I use the program Matlab to prepare plots for papers, presentations, etc. I am already a little annoyed that when running matlab on mac there are issues of text content cut off in the figures. More importantly after the java update 2 the matlab font looks HUGE. If you change the font setting, it will look normal, but sometimes shift the text. Does anyone know how to fix this? Matlab provided a fix for the R2008 version, but nothing for the R2007 version. This program is so important to me and my work, I may have to move back to Microsoft or Linux in order to have MatLab produce the plots I need.
Please let me know if there is an efficient way to fix this problem.

I have the same problem on my dual quad-core MacPro after updating Java to Java Update 3. All of my font settings were reset. However when I change the font from 12 pt to say 10pt the cursor moves as if the 12 pt font is still used so it does not line up with any characters once a few characters into the line.
I have tried removing all of my preferences and global matlab preferences, but no luck. I have not applied the Java Update 3 to my 17" MacBookPro as to avoid this problem. What version of Matlab are you using? I have R2007b.
As for text being cut-off from your plots, I have found a small but important note to do with the '-r' option for the print command. On the Mac OS X platform, for some unknown reason you should always set the resolution to '-r72'. This has fixed the problem for me. I had the same problem when saving figures as png's that were to be used later to make an animation. All of the scaling was funny until I set the resolution to 72.
I am hoping that I can find as solution. Maybe clearing the Java preferences, where ever they may be.

Pages having Korean font issues after iOS 7 update.

iWork on my ipad and iphone cannot handle Korean font after iOS 7 update. It displays Korean correctly in those documents I created before the recent iOS 7 update, but breaks down as soon as I try to edit them. Anyone has the same problem with international fonts? Is there anyway to fix the problem? Is it an iWork issue or the iOS 7 issue? It certainly does not look like a hardware issue, because other apps work fine indeed.

I have this issue after the update. I do not know what's wrong but I can not see my recent calls. Neither can see my sms is sent or the ones I have taken back.
I have tried to call one of my friends. I can hear them but they can not hear me. I have also checked with my operator and they do not have the disruption will harm the network.
So what's really wrong? This happened after the last update I did. Living in Sweden, Gävle uses Tele2 comviq simcard.

When did you update? Have you tried simply rebooting your phone by pressing and holding both Vol down + power buttons for around 10 seconds until the phone vibrates? If that doesn't work, you could try resetting your phone but make sure you backup your data beforehand.

Camera issues after ios 5 update

my iphone 4 issues are as follow after ios 5 update:
camera sometimes takes low resolution photos (without zoom)

You probably haven't "lost" the zoom feature on your iPhone 4, you probably missed that you now activate it using the pinch to zoom rather than tapping on the screen...

Anyone had email issues after 3.1 update?

It seems after I read an email, it still shows it as unread, so after I close out of email, it pops back up showing email to be read. I have had to just physically delete some emails for them to not show. Anyone else seen this?

Cd burning issue after installing and updating snow leopard

After installing and updating snow leapard to the latest version, the cd burner for i-tunes quit working. it says" burning disk initializing" then "burning disk finishing" comes up with the error "the attempt to burn a disk failed. the disc drive didn't respond properly and can't recover or retry. Any suggestions to fix this problem?

First try other disks, brand new, then try another brand, then consider backup user files and (clean and polish then) c booting off the 10.6.3 disk and simply reinstalling OS X then updating to 10.6.8 again.
Hopefully this should fix the issue in OS X software, you may have to reinstall certain third party software again that it's kext files got kicked out of OS X by the reinstall.
If you get hung booting at any time, simply hold the shift key down and then update your software then reboot normally

We got an issue after applying the "SharePoint Server 2010 and Project Server 2010 Cumulative Update Server Hotfix Package (MOSS server-package,
Project server-package): June 28, 2011" on SharePoint 2010 server.
Environment details:
OS: Windows server 2008 R2 with SP1
TFS: TFS 2010 with SP1
DB: SQL Server 2008 R2
SharePoint: SharePoint 2010 with SP1
Due to this issue we are not able to proceed further to integrate PS 2010 with TFS 2010. Can someone please suggest solution for this issue.

Saving Issues after installing latest update

Today, after installing an update to my Acrobat XI Standard, I am getting an error message when trying to save .pdfs from an email to my server. The error message is: The document could not be saved. There was a problem reading this document (21). Any way to fix this?

Bluetooth Issues after 3.1 Update

iPhone 3G worked flawlessly with 2 devices prior to update:
1 - Pioneer FH-P8000BT - 3 issues
(a) Callers now hear echo of themselves.
(b) Pairing connection goes away
(c) Call quality is worse
2 - Jabra Halo Headphones
(a) Bluetooth connection is horrible outdoors, fine indoors. Music cuts out continuously outdoors. Can't have iPhone in any pocket unless the pocket happens to be 2 inches from the headphones.

Battery issue after 8.3 update

BAttery drains like ****.. Overnight drain increased 1% to 15% after this new update. Cant use phone handy need to be charged after A hour or 2

Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.
If this does not help, setting it up as new device would be the next step:

POS-DM, BIW & R/3 posting issue after BIW patch updation

Landscape details:
SAP IS-Retail (ECC 6.0), SAP POS (Triversity GM 9.5.10), PI 7.0, BIW/POS-DM 7.0
Issue Detail
We have upgraded the patch level of Support package BI_CONT in BIW from 5 to 11 in production server and after that following issues have started:
1.     The duplicate posting started in R/3 i.e. if some POS EoD (TLog) file is already posted from POS-DM to R/3 and if the same file comes to POS-DM again then it gets posted in R/3 again. It was not happening before updating the patch, it used to get stop in POS-DM only.
2.     We have some EANs which starts with ZERO, those POS transaction doesnu2019t get posted in BIW Cubes and R/3 wherein the ZERO prefix articles exists. It stuck in POS-DM with the error u201CUnknown EAN/UPC numberu201D. But this error comes only if we enable the u201CMstr Data Filteru201D check from General Setting in /N/POSDW/IMG. If we disable this check then the data gets posted in R/3 but it doesnu2019t go in RSA7 & BIW Cubes.
3.     Before updating the patch the u201CMstr Data Filteru201D check was disabled and our posting was happening perfectly in R/3 as well BIW. What we understand is that, this check is required to pick the Article Code from masters with reference of EAN number which comes in POS TLog file and then it gets posted. We had written a ROUTINE in update rules to pick the Article Code from masters after truncating ZERO prefix from EAN, because the masters which we upload in R/3 with ZERO prefix EAN are getting updated in BIW without ZERO prefix.
4.    In the T-Code /N/POSDW/MON0, we are not able to change the status of processed transaction from 4 (completed) to 1 (ready) or vice-a-versa. Earlier we were able to do the same. This is required to re-process the transactions after doing the corrections in errors occurred at the time of first processing.

1)Duplicate posting in R/3 : check the 'Tasks' configuration WPUUMS & WPUTAB in /N/POSDW/IMG in POSDM.
2) Write a Routine in BI side to allow EAN's with prefix Zeros
3) master data filter is used to check the data with BI master data. Master data filter should always be used while data posting.
4) The status should be first changed from completed to cancelled/rejected and then cancelled to Ready status.
    Then you will be able to reprocess the posdm data to ISR.

Sync issues after iOS 8 update

Hi,
I have an iPhone 5S, 64 GB. After updating to iOS8 I got sync issues. "Waiting for changes to be applied" never disappeared. Also the storage usage in iTunes 11.4 is wrong. iTunes said I had 6GB free, when I had in fact 20GB. I restored the phone back to firmware, restored the backup. All was fine until I made setting changes in iTunes what I want to sync. The same issue in iTunes is back again. I already deleted my voice memos as someone recommended in another threat but that didn't help.
Any ideas how I can solve the problem, would be appreciated. Thank you!

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

TC issues after latest firmware update

Here is the skinny, my TC went through the normal firmware update a bit ago. Wednesday my Internet stopped working, when I use the Airport Utility app it showed the TC online, at first, then it gave me the error that the TC did not have a valid IP. Thought might have been a problem on my ISP's end so I grabbed another router and set it up Internet no problem. Has to be the new firmware right so I pushed the firmware back 3 versions, and still the same thing no valid IP but connected to the Internet but no HDD (Yes it said not a valid IP but connected to the Internet on one wireless PC). Everything else in the house would not connect to the TC they could see it but when you went to connect never asked for a password and I got the spindle of death type deal. I saved my settings and did a hard reset with the button on the back of the TC, started over and rebuilt the connection, same thing happened not a valid IP. I have read that Apple released 3 different firmware updates supposedly the last one works, it doesn't when I load the firmware I get the same error TC does not have a valid IP. I need some help, I have cycled through power down and power up situations over and over. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Need some more info.
What is the modem.. make and model?
Is it both modem and router or just a modem?
What is the actual model of the TC.. the number from the base.. A1xxx where the x are numbers.
The latest firmware is an issue.. that is 7.6.4 and you should go back to 7.6.1
But it does seem hard to get rid of properly.
I want you to do a factory reset not just a hard reset.
Universal Factory Reset.. any model TC or AE.
Unplug your TC/AE from power or turn off at the power point.
Hold in reset. and power the TC/AE back on.. all without releasing reset and keep holding in for about 10sec. (this is often difficult without a 2nd person or a 3rd arm).
Release it when the status light flashes rapidly. If it doesn’t flash rapidly you have missed it and try again.
Note..
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel.. add no more pressure after that.
TC/AE will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations of the router.
No files are deleted on the hard disk in a TC.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.
Please redo the setup using all SMB names.. that is short, no spaces and purely alphanumeric characters.
eg TCgenx (use actual gen if you want) for base station name.
TCwifi for wireless name. (or TC24ghz and TC5ghz which is well worth naming both bands so you can test more carefully).
Please download and install a v5 utility on a computer if any of them use up to Mountain Lion.
Tell us what OS the computers are running and I can tell you how to install the old airport utility.
Test the TC in bridge to your other router is also a good alternative.
