Hi Balaji,
Yes. Your are right that teh multi-provider does not store any data. It is like a view that displays the data from various data targets using union. LISTCUBE displays the data using those unions and displays the data. It is not fetching data from any underlying table of the Multi-provider. Probably if you debug then you would find the various SQL statements fetching data from the other data targets using the join conditions.
LISTCUBE is just meant for displaying the data from an Info-provider in the backend.
If you are familiar with R/3 then you would have noticed that you can see the data in table or view in SE11/SE16 even though a table has data where as a View does not. It is something similar to that.

Multiprovider report problem

Let me explain you the Multiprovider report with example .
Multiprovider is created based on Basic cube and DSO . Basic cube has Billing doc number in line item dimension .
DSO has Billing document number , Item number and Partner function as primary key.
I have Created one diemension on Multiprovider where I have assigned Billing document number , and other 2 data fields from DSO which are not available in Cube . Is it correct design ?
DSO have below records .. - Doc no , Item and PF are primary key of DSO .
Billing doc no      Partner function     Personal Number    Customer number
100                                 ER                                1
100                                 Y1                                                              555
100                                  Y2                                                              111
In Cube I have below records -
Billing doc no     Sales Org          Netvalue            Total sale
100                      001                      $ 3000               $3200
200                        001                    $ 5000                $5100
When I execute the report based on MP by partner function i should get below result.
Billing doc   PF    Personal Number    Customer number Netvalue   Total sales
100             ER         1                              555                       3000          3200
Is it possible ?

Multiprovider is a union of infoproviders.So you can achieve the report you want by building a Multiprovider with the Cube and DSO.You have to assign the Billing doc no to both Cube and DSO during the craetion of the Multiprovider.
When you execute the report on the MP on Purchase Order, all the values of Billing doc no will be fetched from both cube and DSO(as MP is a union).
According you can set a filter to fetch only specfic data from a specific part-provider of the Multiprovider.
Also At query Designer level a InfoObject : 0INFOPROV will be available which will give and option to fetch the data only from a specifi part provider of MP if required.

Multiprovider display data issue

Hello,
I'm using BI7.0 and created Multiprovider using Custom DSO and Infocube1.
the problem is, when i use display data through multiprovider, I'm not able to see data from DSO .
I have considered all common fields from DSO and Cube and assigned in multiprovider.
basically I'm selecting all IO and Keyfigures from Infocube1 and few IO from DSO
some reason I am not able to see data from DSO when i view data through multi provider.
Please help me to view data from both cube and dso through multi provider.

Hi Ganga,
Please check whether there is any restrictions for the field 0PROVIDER. There may be restriction to get the data only from cube.
If there is no any restrictions then here may be your problem.
You need to maintain atleast one key figure in both targets.
Since there is no any key fig coming from DSO
please create a dummy key fig and try to check once again.

Dear Experts,
I have a requirement as follows:
I have most of the document Data in an DSO and some of the required data/fields are in Cube 1 and the ramining fields are in cube2.
The join condition i want to use is Document Number.
DSO
Doc no
10000001    A       AAAA
10000002    B       BBBB
10000003    C       CCCC
Cube1
Doc No       Due Date     Amount
10000001    07/04/2007   £50
Cube 2        Due Date    Amount
10000002.   05/04/2007    £20
I am not clear if i create a multiprovider (Doucment number assigned from 3 infoproviders), what happens?
Does it look like this? Or it only joins if document number is same in the all infoproviders?

10000003    C     CCCC       #                   #
What about due date? Do i need to assign duedate from both infoproviders, i.e cube1 and cube2.
I am totally stucked here. Your advice will be really appreciated.

Looking at the data, i guess you will get the required data in the Multicube but that goes only if the data in the two cubes is not same. what i meant is in Cube1 and Cube2 if yo have Doc number 100001 and amounts as 20$ and 30$ respectively then in the Multi cube it will become 50$ for doc number 100001 , if you dont want to do that then Due date has to be included from both the cubes.
If Document number is not present then when you run the query based on the Doc number , that particular record wont be displayed at that level.

Multiprovider design -problem

I am just creating the multiprovider on Custom Billing cube and Custom DSO .
In my billing cube , I have Billing document assigned to line item dimension
and Line item is also in another in another line item diemsion .
My DSO have Billing document number , Item number and Partner function as primary key .
Could you please let me know how should be my MP design ?
How to create a dimension in Multiprovider ?
Can I assign the Billing document from cube and Billing document from DSO to the same diemsion ?
How to figure out the Partner function Characterstic of DSO which is primary key of DSO but not having this fields in billing cube . ?
There are 2 other data fields available in DSO which is not there in Billing cube , Do i hv to create a new dimension for them ?

You can create a single dimension for this, in that you can use Billing document and right click assign/identify from the both DSO/Cube.

There are 2 other data fields available in DSO which is not there in Billing cube , Do i hv to create a new dimension for them ?
If those data fields related to Billing Document, then you can add these two fields to fisrt dimension (Billing Document Dimension).

Hi SDNians,
Could someone help me on getting this resolved?
I have two ODSs one for Open item balance and other for detailed cleared items.
ODS1
Acc      Open_Balance
A1          100
A2           200
A3           300
ODS2
Doc_num   ACC        Tran_Amount

04               A3               25
I created a MultiProvider to combine two data sets to creat a report showing all the Tran_Amount and Balance on account. It doesn't display Balance,
AC     Tran_Amount         Open_Balance
A1         30
A2         30
A3         25
I tried with LISTCUBE it also shows only Tran_Amount and Balance as 0.00.
Any clue what I might be doing wrong?

I guess, you could able to maintain the ideinfication between two ODS, as far as the query or report is concern, in order to get the 'Open Balance', from the query
designer when you call this KF attach one more property 'Data Package' ->
'Info Provider' from here select your ODS1..this should give you the exepected value.

Questions on Multiprovider and Process Chain

Hai All,
          I have two questions. One on Multiprovider and the other on Process chain.
1. Multiprovider:
          For example, I have 2 ODSs. ODS1 has Objects ORDER NUMBER, COUNTRY and PRODUCT, ODS2 has objects ORDER NUMBER, DELIVERY STATUS, CREATION DATE.
Now if I make a multiprovider on ODS1 and ODS2, then as ORDER NUMBER is common in both the ODSs, can I make a report like this:
ORDER NUMBER - DELIVERY STATUS, CREATION DATE?
         I have a problem here bacuase its not getting those details from the other ODS even though the ORDER NUMBER(value) is same. Am I making nay mistake or is it a system problem.
I beleive thats how a Multiprovider works.
2. Process chain:
                I have an END connector in my process chain that connects 3 processes and lets the following task start only after the success of all the above 3 processes.
The system is displaying the END connector seperately under each process. But the name and everything else is same. Is this a setting somewhere in the process chain?

1. Those fields are in ODS2, you don't need to make a multiprovider.
2. You mean an AND connector. Maybe you need to refresh the screen. if this doesn't work, delete the three and connectors and insert a new one.

I have created a query to generate the balance sheet in FIGL using standard virtual cube 0FILGL_V01 and a custom transactional cube which gets plan data through BPS. The custom plan cube is an exact copy of the 0FIGL_V01 (plan value is populated in 0val_flow KF). These two cubes are conncected using a multiprovider. In the identification tab in the mutliprovider definition I have selected both the data targets for all characteristics.
Now when I create a query for balance sheet using GL account no and plan and actual value of cumulative balance KF I get the following error.
Error 'Field symbol has not yet been assigned.' in RSDRC_CUBE_DATA_GET_RFC could not be caught.
When i run the query in the RSRT transaction it shows 'Some Key figure have exception aggregation.'
I'll be very grateful if somebody could explain how to about removing this error. Thanks a lot.

Import Support Package 16 for 3.5 (BW 3. 50 Patch 16 or SAPKW35016) into your BW system. The Support Package is available once Note 0872275 "SAPBWNews BW Support Package 16 NetWeaver'04 Stack 16", which describes this Support Package in more detail, has been released for customers.
Before you implement the correction, you must carry out the following actions:
1. Use Transaction SE37 to create the RSDRC_RAISE_EXCEPTION function module in the RSDRC function group (Short text = Terminator 2). This function does not have any parameters.
2. In the RSDRC_CUBE_DATA_GET_RFC function module, under 'Tables', add the new entry E_T_MESG of the TSMESG type and this new entry is optional.
3. The T100 messages DBMAN 003,004 and 005 complete the correction:
a) 003: Unknown error in part cube RSDRC_CUBE_DATA_GET_RFC = &1
b) 004: Non-catchable error '&1' in RSDRC_CUBE_DATA_GET_RFC.
c) 005: The following error occurred in RSDRC_CUBE_DATA_GET_RFC for part cube = &1.
In urgent cases you can implement the correction instructions.
To make information available in advance, the notes mentioned may already be available before the Support Packages are released. However, in this case the short text still contains the words "preliminary version".

Need to determine data type of free characteristic in multiprovider

Hi,
I need to determine the data type (e.g. numeric vs alpha numberic) of a free characteristic in a multiprovider. Can this be accomplished in BEx Query Designer?
If not, can it be accomplished in RSA1? How?

its not possible via Query designer..
give that object name if it is infoobject then you can get via RSD1

NOT Getting Values for LOCATION...on MultiProvider REPORT

HI All,
I have a MultiProvider on 4 cubes.All these 4 cubes having object LOCATION. I can see data in all cubes for LOCATION. I am running a report on this MultiProvider.
Problem:
I am not getting Values for LOCATION. Why?
What I did:
I checked all location objects of all 4 cubes @ MultiProvider level .
I didn't use any Infoprovider in Qry designer sections.
Please suggest. What is the reason how to solve..

hello,
in the identification tab of the MP,make sure you have checked all four checkboxes across the 4 infoproviders.
then in Listcube T-Code, select your MP,display the records based on selection inputs and see if location is populated.
If the data is not coming in listcube, then it will not come in the Query too.

Can't see data in Multiprovider

Hi All,
I've created a multiprovider on top of some infosets.
I have one field in multiprovider called purchasing group which is assigned to the infosets. When I tried to display data I am not getting the data for this field. Where as the DSOs have the data for this field.
I don't understand why its happening. I've checked the joins in infosets and assignments in multiprovider. everything is fine. But not getting data in multiprovider.
If anybody has even a little clue please reply.

Data in ODS, Info cube ans Multiprovider(List cube) are in Sync.

Hi,
My query is built on multiprovider. The data flow is data source u2013 ODS then ODS u2013 Info cube and multiprovider contains Info cube only.
Data in ODS, Info cube ans Multiprovider(List cube) are in Sync.
The query results are not tie up ODS, Info cube ans Multiprovider(List cube).
Any one let me know why this is happening and how do I resolve it.

Data from one cube is not coming in the multiprovider

Hi,
I have two cubes with a common characterstic.
I created multiprovider above these two cubes. But data is not coming from the cube 2. The values from cube 2 are showing as 0.
Can anyone help me out in this?

Check the following:-
1 Check whether you have made the joins properly.
2 Check data at multiprovider level .
3 is data available for reporting in both the cubes

Unable to add new Infoobject from Infoprovider to multiprovider

Hello Experts,
I have a multiprovider which joins four different Cubes. Now, I added a new Infoobject to one of those Cubes but I am unable to transfer that InfoObject from the Cube to the multiprovider. I tried the identify characteristics option in the edit multiprovider mode but I was unable to see that Infoobject in the base cube to which it is added. The only unusual thing about this Infoobject is that it is not linked to any source field and set to initial in the update rules as I am populating it using a ABAP code in the end routine. I am not sure if this has got to do anything with the problem
Any help in this regards will be appreciated and points will be duly assigned.
