Multiproviders can be used when it is key to have a view on key figures?

Hello experts, maybe a easy one:
I have to create an object which allowes me to have a view on a master data and on a DSO.
an attribute of the master data is common with a characteristic of the DSO, therefore it is possible to join the two objects.
In this case what is best an infosource or a multiprovider?
What are the main drawbacks and the strengths of the two solutions?

multiprovider is not useful in this case.
You have to create an InfoSet making a join on the fields in common between the object and the DSO.

I have a really annoying problem. command C andV stop working just in Microsoft Word. what should i do?i can't use them as shortcut keys in word documents! however they are working in other applications, the problem is just in word documents!

I just had the same thing happen on my Macbook but was able to resolve it (at least for now!). Here's what I did:
Go to Tools>Customize Keyboard
You can then select 'edit' on the left side under categories. Then on the right side, you'll see lots of commands. Scroll down till you find the ones that aren't working. Ex. Editcopy, Editpaste.
Select each one and check to see if there is a command short cut. Ex. for editcopy it should read: "Command C"
If it does not (i.e. the problem), put the cursor in "Press new keyboard shortcut." Then press the command key along with the corresponding letter. Note you will not type the letters out but actually do the command. Then press "Assign." The shortcut command should then appear under 'Current Keys.' Go through and check all of the ones that aren't working for you.
BTW, this is a nifty was to add some cool commands that you use often. Ex. insert row on table, etc.
Quit Word and restart it. It should work. Hope that helps!

Can a muliple OVS directories can be used when 2GB of storage is available

My plan is to use 4 oracle virtual servers to run many guest machine, and to migrate guests from one server to another ( when needed ).
to support this, I also have an Iscsi storage with 4TeraByte of space.
I want to allocate the entire storage to be used for current guests and future ones.
My only problem is to allocate the storage. The iscsi device is visible to the 4 nodes.
On one of the nodes I tried to create a new partition on the device and make the filesystem (ocfs).
I'm using the fdisk to do the allocation, but this has a limit of <2Tera Bytes.
Do I need to have smaller partitions and create few OVS directories ? or, is there a better way to allocate the entire space ?

How to use a non cumulative key figure in a multi planning area

I'm new to bps, my problem is
I need to read the last stock quantity and value at plant and material level to do further calculations in a fox formula, so i made a planning area for the cube 0rt_c36 and another for my tc cube where the results should go, then i combine these areas in a multiplanning area.
problems arise when selecting the key figure in the ratios tab of the multi area, the ratios 0CPTOTSTOBU (last stock) and 0CPTOTSTOPV (last stock purchase value) are not available, only the inflow and outflow ratios are 0CPTOTREBU and 0CPTOTREPV.
I know when reporting, the actual value for stock is calculated by bex, namely, there is no data store at database level, so the question is:
How to obtain last stock for using in bps??

Hi Azael,
In the How to Papers, you will find a Guide on how to take a Sanpshot view of the Stocks(How To Handle Inventory Management Scenarios in BW). Basically if you implement the Guide, you will have another cube called ICSNAP1, which will contain stock quantities /values at the end of each month. You will therefore have to take stock at the end of the last month from that cube and add up the relevant receipts and issues to arrive at the current Stock or Stock as on a particular date.

How to use Restricted or Calculated Key figure with Characteristics?

Hi,
Query has characteristics 'Indicator' which has values 'X' and 'Y' depending this value, the Key figure Quantity(which is always +ve) has to be shown on the report either as -ve or +ve.
Do I use Restricted Key figure if so, how? Or can I manage with a Calculated Key figure?

Hi Kamala,
You can create 2 RFKs each in which you are restricting the KF with char value X and Y. For the one that needs to be -ve, create a CKF with this RKF and multiply it by -1 in the formula. Then you can create a new CKF that will add this CKF and the other RKF.

Hi,
you can have as many essbase servers as you want, provided they are registered on same shared services. When you create a data source for planning application, you have to provide Essbase server name and login details. You can provide one essbase server in one data source and another essbase server for another.
Also since Planning is based on RDBMS database, you can have multiple planning web servers pointing to same planning application. You can use load balancer concept as well.
