Multisim simulation not working

Hi
I'm a newbie at multisim.
I would like to ask any one out there for help. After I have built up a project and I click on simulate in mul;tisim nothing happens yet the same project works like a dream under proteus.
My question is is there a setting that needs to be activated or setup so as to be able to run simulation under Multisim.
Or is there a specific way of getting projects to work in multisim.
Please help me if any one can as i prefer multisim over proteus.

Thank you for replying to my post much appreciated.
At the moment im trying to get a running message to work as well as a digital clock i have checked all connections countless times and they are as the schematic diagram has given them
but when i execute the project nothing happens and no i dont get any error messages. So i'm assuming all is well but no message scrolls or no time is displayed. I dont know much about programing so i cant see if the fault is maybe there.

Interactive Captivate simulations not working correctly in Presenter

Hi,
I'm looking for a fix for what appears to be a bug with
importing interactive Captivate 2.0.0 (build 1177, originally a
trial verson) files into Presenter 6.0.432 (in PowerPoint 2000 SP-3
9.0.8952 on a Windows XP computer).
The course works fine when I publish the Presenter file to My
Computer, but doesn't work correctly when I publish to Adobe
Connect (hosted version). What happens is that the interactive
Captivate simulations are already done. (It seems like Presenter is
somehow completing the simulations before the end user gets to
those slides.)
Each course I've created is approximately 40 slides in length
with approximately eight Captivate demonstrations and eight
Captivate simulations spread out through the course. (A few slides
of content with voiceover, then a slide with a Captivate
demonstration, then a slide with a Captivate simulation slide, etc.
etc.)
Captivate Project Preferences are set to:
Advanced project compression
508 compliance
Compress compiled SWF file
Publish Adobe Connect Enterprise metadata
Captivate Publish settings are:
(unchecked) Export HTML
Flash Player 7
I tried switching the Flash Version to Flash Player 8, but it
didn't help at all, and instead caused an additional problem which
was that the text entry part of the interactive simulations stopped
working altogether.
I'm inclined to think this is a problem with the Connect
server (since the course runs fine when published to My Computer,
just not when published to Adobe Connect), but suppose it could be
a Captivate or Presenter issue. In any case, I'm open to whatever
gets it fixed.

I tried it, but it didn't help.
Given TechNote #46b77621 (recommending people link to
Captivate files rather than embed them in Presenter), and the
problems I'm having, I'm starting to wonder if this is a known
problem.
If it is, it's a big one, as a major selling point of
Presenter has been that you can embed Captivate files within the
slides. Linking out to them would be a different experience for the
end-user (and not as nice).
Another problem is that the TechNote says text entries won't
work in Captivate files embedded in Presenter (I have had some
inconsistent issues with this). Serious feature problem if it's
true. (As I'm sure you know, it's a very common aspect of computer
training courses, which is what many people are using
Presenter/Captivate for.)
Hopefully this all gets sorted out sooner rather than later.
(Or you never know, perhaps, hopefully, there's just something I'm
missing. :))

SpeakHere and Simulator not working

I downloaded the SpeakHere app last night and tried running it with XCode 3.1.4 and Iphone Simulator 3.1 ( 139.1 ) on OSX 10.5.8. I can click the record button but I don't see any indication on the meter that it is receiving sound. I fired up garage band to ensure my built-in mic was working on my macbook pro and all was well. I even plugged in my iphone headphones and that worked in garage band as well but not with the SpeakHere app in the simulator.

1.) Delete DVD SP preferences
2.) Repair permissions
3.) Reinstall the App
Did simulator work before and stopped? Does this happen for one project or more than one project? Between this and the build issue in the other thread it may also be a corrupted asset somewhere. Are you encoding outside of DVD SP using Compressor or letting DVD SP encode? Usually better to encode outside of DVD SP

Mediaroom simulator not working

I have installed mediaroom simulator 3.4 on my windows 7 machine but it is showoing a black screen. I have tried installing that setup on other machine that works. It shows a default video playing. Can anybody tell me does is it related with
admin rights or 32 bit or 64 bit machine or Does anyone have the prerequisites of mediaroom simulator. Please help!!

Simulator not working

Hi all,
I use the iPhone/iPad simulator for testing websites (I'm not an appdeveloper). After ugrading to Lion, whenever I try to open the similator now, the Finder pops open with the message to "Please choose application to run inside iPhone Simulator".
But it just offers the iPhoneSimulator app as an option. Nothing ever happens, and eventually it just crashes or I get a beachball. It's very disappointing, as this is a really handy tool for web development.
I've downloaded the latest dev kit, but no change.
Has anyone got any suggestions as to what to do about this?

Visual Studio Authoring Extensions - MP Simulator not working

Having problems running the MP Simulator feature. When I go to launch it, a Microsoft Visual Studio error box appears:
"Not implemented (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004001 (E_NOTIMPL))"
Anyone run into this issue and able to solve it?

HRESULT: 0x80004001 means unsupported function .

IPhone Aspen Simulator not working

I recently downloaded the iPhone SDK and I am trying to follow through the MoveMe tutorial. However, when I build and run the app, Aspen launches, but nothing appears on the simulator screen. I figured that I needed to turn it 'on', but clicking on the iPhone button does nothing. I just see a blank iPhone screen. I am running 10.5.2 OSX.
Am I missing something, or is there a problem with the simulator?

The problem is in the Build Settings. I got this problem when I changed the build settings so it was not pointing to the simulator.
First try switching to Debug or Release build, whichever is the opposite of what you are using now. Whatever you changed in the build settings may only be screwed up in one of those.
If that fails, make a new project and copy your files into it. The build settings are saved in the .xcodeproject file so you need to get rid of it.

BS works fine in simulator not working in repeating component job.

The Siebel version used is 8.1.
I have written Business Service at client application to capture the status of Server Component Job and I am sending an email to my id with the component status using Outbound Communications Manager service. I have deployed a workflow and created repeating component job. As expected I was receiving the component status to my mail id.
Later I modified the Business service written in client application by adding one if condition so that email is sent only when the status is Error and updated the to list to add the rest of my team members mail id. When I simulate the email is sent to all my teammates and the if logic works fine. But when I try to run from repeating component job the if logic is not checked (mail is sent even when the status is success) and the mail is sent only to my Id.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

I could resolve the issue after renaming the Business Service and specified the new BS name in Workflow and imported the Worklow again which is pointing to the new BS.

My multisim simulation does not work in real world

I am new one to the circuit world.
MY project is electric field measurement in thunderstorm. So I have plat plate antenna working as big capacitor and I need amplifier with high gain 500-1000) to amplify the signal I create the circuit but the problem is when I create in real world it does not work
Other problem is to reduce the DC offset I put the high pass filter for every end of the op amp output. So according to the theory its cut of frequency is about 212 MHz (calculation some time may be I am wrong) but I just need to reduce the DC offset my frequency range is (1 KHz to 50 MHz) how can possible to pass this frequency in my op amp circuit.
Please give me any suggestion

1. Are C1 and C2 really 15 farad capacitors?
2. What is the estimated capacitance of the antenna?
3. What is the expected electric field and rate of change of the field at the antenna/capacitor? What kind of waveshape do you expect from real lightning and what are you using from XFG1 for simulation?
4. What are the input and output impedances of XBP1? It looks like you have two outputs connected together - XBP1 and U4.
5. You have pins 8 of the OPA6951 connected to VEE. What voltage is connected to VEE? The data sheet says Disable pin is usually left open for normal amplifier operation. It also says the typical enable voltage is 3.3 V.

Rule not working in workflow but works in simulation mode

Hi guys
i have one more strange issue. I have a rule assigned to one of my task to dtermine the agnet based on a z table which is executed by a z function module in the rule. The rule works fine and gets the desired agent when run in the simulation mode. But when we test it from the workflow it dosent seems to be working. When i check the workflow log it says no agent for this task. any idea what am i missing?

yes both the workflow and the dialog step( in our case a decision step) is categorized as General task. I also have used the SWU_OBUF to refresh the buffer but still the same results. Rule works fine in simulation but when it is run in a workflow the workflow log says no agent found. any more suggestions? the workflow to rule binding is fine as well. The rule requires 3 parameters and in the binding i am pasing all the 3 elemts to the rule containers. so i am not sure why its not working?

Debug version works well, but release version does not work with simulator

I developped one application and I tested with simulator-ipad retina. The debug version works well and release version did not work at all.

Video template not working in simulator

Man, I am really sorry to have to bring this up...again. I have searched the forums, and I cannot find an answer to this. I am still working in DVD SP 2. I have found that when using a menu template based on a .mov (video) file - for example the Theater Marquee template - instead of a .tif or .jpg template, that the video does not work in the simulator nor does it work if I burn it to DVD then try it in a DVD player.

Let me be a little bit more specific as to what the problem is. If I use any of the menu templates that have a moving, or video, background (which use .mov files) and I go to check them in the simulator, all I see are the title and the buttons. There is a brief one-second flash of the background when it first runs, but then it's just a black background. The music that is associated with it plays, though. I've tried looking at the settings in the inspector, but I can't see anything to change that would affect the display of the template. I have read some other posts where the problem may be solved in DVD SP 3, but I'm not about to drop another $250 or more for a program because the one that should be working doesn't work.

[iPhone] Pinch/zoom in UIScrollView at simulator does not work

Hi everyone,
I tried to get pinch/zoom working for a UIImageView within a UIScrollView. Therefore I downloaded the source code from the tutorial under http://www.vimeo.com/1642150. When I started the app in the iPhone simulator I used the options key and the mouse pad to simulate zoom/pinch gesture, but nothing happend (the two gray circles are shown in the simulator which indicates that zoom/pinch gesture is used for input). The zoom/pinch does not work within the UIScrollView, whatever I try, nothing worked. None of the UIScrollView delegate methods are called (used NSLog to check it). Did anybody has a similar problem or behaviour?

Thanks for the reply. I finally found the problem. You have to use two fingers and the options key to simulate zoom/pinch gestures with a trackpad, although the two gray circles are shown when use only one finger, zoom/pinch only works if you use two finger, like you would do for scrolling.

Accept simulation is not working in Demantra

Hi,
I am facing a problem with 'Accept simulation' feature in Collaborator workbench.
After running simulation successfully, the simulation value is generated.
Now when i accept simulation and rerun the worksheet, the simulation data disappears and my final forecast series is also empty.
Ideally, it is supposed to empty the simulation data from the simulation series and populate the final forecast series, but 'accept simulation' is behaving like reject simulation feature where i loose the simulation data without getting it populated in final forecast series.
Does anybody know the reason for this?
Please help. It is urgent.

I have solved this problem.
Initially run the forecast using Batch mode engine profile and then run simulation mode .
Now accept simulation will work as expected.

UC3842 model is not working at all

Greetings, I am trying to simulate switching regulator circuits with Multisim 10.
Specifically, I am trying to use the UC3844 model to create a boost regulator, buck regulator, and eventually a flyback regulator.
The UC3844 part is pretty easy to work with in real life, but is not functional in Multisim10.
The datasheet is from texas instruments -- SLUS223C
Try the example circuit on Page 7 from SLUS223C in Multisim.
I noticed that the Vref pin never has 5Vdc present during the simulation. In real life, there is always 5Vdc present on the Vref pin as soon as the DC voltage on VCC rises above 16Vdc.
It's as though the part is not turning on or is stuck in undervoltage lockout.
Can anyone explain how this part is supposed to work in multisim 10, or is there a working example multisim simulation example I can reference?

Hello - attached is the UC3842 model you are looking for in v10.1 in a flyback topology (modified from existing SMPS samples).   I suggest that for Switch Mode Power Controllers that you also reference the SMPS samples (File -> Open Samples -> SMPS).   Many of sample circuits in the topologies shown have corresponding SMPS controller ICs models with parametric values that allow you to match the specifications closely with the manufacturer's IC specifications. The sample I included swapped out the BASSO model for the UC3842 model.
Recently a customer looking for a Linear Technologies SMPS controller (not in the DB) was successfully able to use a corresponding PWMCM BASSO model in lieu of the actual mfg SPICE model as many of these are propietary or encrypted.
These BASSO models are relatively easy to use. For a given topology (CM or VM, buck, boost, flyback), open up the sample circuit. Adjust the model by opening up the SPICE model of the controller within the circuit (Double-click on part -> Edit Model button).   Adjust the 'Current Instance Parameters:' to match those found on the datasheet as shown below.
Multisim customers that are using these, say there is close agreement to the simulations compared to what they see on the benchtop during verification testing.
Also in general I find when using these SMPS samples in your own applications, adjusting the simustion engine parameters 'RSHUNT' a few decades down (from default of 10^12 -> 10^11 or 10^10) [due to high C, L values] and adjusting the integration method 'METHOD' from 'trapezoidal' to 'gear' [due to switching signals] allows for better convergence performance of these models and SMPS circuits in general.   These settings are found in the Multisim menu as follows: (Simulate -> Interactive Simulation Settings -> Analysis Options [tab]-> Select 'Use custom settings' (hit 'Customize' button) -> locate/change the corresponding engine paramenters as indicated above).
By the way, Basso's 'Switch-Mode Power Supply SPICE Cookbook ' is also a good reference for your design requirements as the examples in this Multisim sample folder are based on this book.
