Multitouch not working
Several times I've witnessed the multitouch functions on the trackpad is not working, as if they were shut off. Nothing seems to be out of the ordinary in system preferences though. Moving the cursor with the trackpad also seems slow and heavy.
Everything's resolved after a reboot. It's just annoying having to reboot knowing it's a returning issue.
I've got a mighty mouse connected with blue tooth as well.

hi there
I have post a solution today
1- unselect all options of the trackpad
2- reboot
3- select now all option
works fine for me
I can say that this doesn't work. I had a freeze soon after completing the above instructions, and am still getting stuff like below in the console logs:
9/15/09 1:38:14 PM kernel AppleUSBMultitouchDriver::message - kIOUSBMessagePortHasBeenReset.
9/15/09 2:19:52 PM kernel AppleUSBMultitouchDriver::_getFeatureReportInfo - DeviceRequest returned error 0xe00002ed (interface 1, reportID 0xd1)
The only fix for the freezing keyboard/trackpad problem I know of is a top-case replacement, which I am getting done this week.

X200 MultiTouch not working With Windows 7 Ultimate
I have an x200 with the proper display and drivers. 2 finger touch shows up in device manager yet does not work with windows 7. Anybody have any ideas? I've tried TVSU 4 and all updates on Lenovo's website.

Multitouch not working iphone 4s
I have to touch an icon and then it tells me to double touch. I cant scroll at all.
Wifi is now working again !
Is really a hardware issue ?
Lets see, how long it lasts.
Solution:
My wife found this via google search, and this is not a joke.
-Place the iPhone on a soft towel or so and keep it switched on.
-Heat it with a hair dryer from the side with the earphone plug.
-After a few minutes, it warns "temperature" and turns itself off.
-Let it cool down. You then can switch it on (wifi still not working).
-Reboot now by holding home and on buttons until the Apple logo comes back.
Thats it ! My iPhone 4S straight away connected to my home wifi...... -
Multitouch not working win8...
I've got a HP Compaq L2105tm touchscreen monitor. Using Windows 7 I was able to use the multitouch class for AIR, and enable pinch-zoom and such. With Windows 8 now, I no longer can get pinch-zoom working - and Multitouch.supportsGestureEvents now returns false. But pinch-zoom works just fine in Windows 8 itself... just not in Flash anymore... so it doesn't seem like it could be a driver issue. Anyone seen this?
Hi dmeN,
That is not happy news to hear, as I've been working on a bunch of gesture-based apps for Windows 7, but have not yet attempted to push them over to Windows 8, yet I'll need to. I agree with what sinuous says, as I've employed his mentioned method for several apps, which works quite well for what I'm trying to do.
Although I have no answer for you, I do have a question(if i may be so bold). Have you come across any other gestures that no longer work in win8? Also, do you have any experience with tracking fiducial markers on the Surface? I'm pulling my hair out trying to track any fiducial marker on the Microsoft surface.
I'm not trying to hijack your post :) - I just wanted to ask you specifically because I've read many of your posts, spanning back years, and thought you might know a thing or two about fiducials.
Anyways, that sucks! I'm not looking forward to working with windows 8.
Cheers to you,

Hp stream 13 touchpad windows 10: multitouch not working
Just installed windows 10 and my multitouch (e.g. two finger tap for a right-click) is no longer working. Searched around, tried an earlier driver from Synaptics but it is incompatible. I saw somehwere that v17.0.10.51 was working for someone else but can't seem to track down this driver. I let HP's tool diagnose driver issues and it found a bunch to do with the chipset driver but nothing for the touchpad. Help?
Hello , Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums, I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I read your post about the Windows 10 update, and wanted to assist you!
I recommend using the Go back to an earlier build option, in your System Settings:
HP Notebook PCs - Upgrading to Windows 10
Once you are back to your original Operating System, check to see if you are experiencing the same issue. If not, then you may consider holding off on the Windows 10 update for a few weeks, until drivers can be updated. Please let me know if this information was helpful by clicking the thumbs up below.
Have a great day! -
Just got my new x200 with the capacitative multitouch screen Friday. The multitouch has never worked, but more troubling, today the normal touch isn't working either. The trackpoint and stylus are functioning perfectly.Any ideas on how to fix this? All my drivers are up to date and I verified that touch is enabled in the control panel. I'm running Windows 7 upgraded from the Vista install that came preloaded. Thanks.
I updated all of my drivers and the touch is working now, but the multi-touch is still absent. I suppose I'll have to wait until the official Windows 7 release, since there's no way I'm ever going back to Vista.
Here's the data about the screen, though it doesn't mean much to me.

Trackpad/Multitouch not working.... but only in certain spots?
Hey all.
I've had my 2010 2.4ghz Core 2 DuoMacbook for just over 2 years, and I've had my share of problems, but nothing quite like this. Upon waking it from sleep this afternoon, the trackpad has been acting eratic, but not in the typical fashion described on these forums. It doesn't jerk or click on its own. Instead, it appears to have developed dead spots, in which the trackpad cannot sense that my finger is touching it. The trackpad is not wet and my hands are not dirty; the problematic areas are consitent. It's as though the sensitivity in much of the trackpad has simply vanished.
I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on this computer and booted via the installation disk, running the disk and permission checks. Nothing has changed. Is this a definite hardware problem, warranting a replacement of the trackpad, or is there a possible solution for this?
ThanksCheck your application settings in the WACOM file . That is also where
you can set the thumb wheel to zoom in and out with ( Ctrl / numb+)

My phone got wet and stoped working.. After repair i have to install a new touch pad.. when i got my phone back, the multi-touch function is not working.. only single fingure is working... Can you help me, where may be the problem of multitouch not working, so that i can repair that part..
Unfortunately it's against the rules of this forum to discuss internal self repairs or issues caused by them. I suggest you use google to find an answer or unofficial forum.

I can't seem to get the swipe listener in my flex mobile project to recognize a multitouch swipe.
I have tested this on an iPad and a Galaxy tab. I can get multitouch working, because pinching is recognized, but swipes are only recognized when I only use 1 finger to swipe.
I know it should work, because the official documentation tells me this:
Dispatched when the user performs a swipe gesture at a point of contact with an InteractiveObject instance (such as touching three fingers to a screen and then moving them in parallel over a display object on a mobile phone or tablet with a touch screen).
I've also followed the instructions on this page: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/multitouch_gestures.html
Can anyone help me out here..?I use a brand new MacBook Air, and suddenly today the magicmouse movement was erratic, jumping around aimlessly. At the same time, vertical and horizontal scrolling was gone. Actually, clicking was the only thing still working.
After searching the forums and trying blindly to find solutions (including downloading magicprefs, deleting preference files in the library / preference folder etc., restarting ( hotstart ) the machine, - suddenly I got a Kernel panic / crash. Never seen this before.... Looking at the log after the forced restart, there was something wrong with
com.apple.driver.AppleMultitouchDriver
- perhaps crashed. Anyway, I had to coldstart the machine and - presto ! - it worked.
So, if you´re at loss, try coldstarting your machine ( i.e. completely off, then on again, instead of just restart ).
If still not working, try to search for the driver name above and solutions for this. -

Multitouch trackpad double tap not working ????
yesterday i was having oily food nd by mistake oil get on to the trackpad nd then my laptop went crazy, mouse started moving itself !!!!!!! after few min.i cleaned it with wet tissue paper nd afterwards every thing was fine rtoday i noticed that double tap is not working i am not able to drag any folder with double tap iam doing it with click plzzz help
It sounds that you still have contaminants in your track pad. Take it to a qualified repair facility. As a last resort you may spray the track pad with non-residue electrical cleaner to wash away the contaminants. This may or may not work and entails an element of risk.
Ciao.

Multitouch on track pad not working when running Windows 8 in boot camp
Does anyone know a work around on how to resolve the issue of more than one fingers on the trackpad? For example, I use one finger to click a window then another finger to slide/move the window to a different location on the screen. This does not work when running Windows 8 in Boot Camp latest version. Any suggestion is much appreciated.
very very few gestures are supported in windows

Keyboard shortcuts not working
Here is the thread I had going online. Lost patience. Very disappointed. I would love an answer if you have one.
Drake DeLucca
in Adobe Story Plus my keyboard shortcuts do not work. I'm on a Macbook. I'm really tired of using an outdated Mac and Final Draft AV, but I cannot get this Adobe Story to work at all. I cannot work efficiently if I have to go to a drop down menu every time I need a new element. I need to keystroke the element & type. I'm running the latest OS on my Macbook Pro.
Vartul, thank you for the link , but I didn't make myself clear. I had been to the linked page previously. When I use these keyboard shortcuts on my Macbook they simply do not have the specified outcome. They don't work at all. Is there a setting in preferences that I need to correct? I am generally working with multiple desktops and swipe from one to another using my multitouch trackpad. When I use the specified shortcuts I get bounced out of Adobe Story into another desktop. This leads me to believe there is a Mac Preference that needs to be changed but I haven't figured it out yet. Can you enlighten me as to what the conflict might be?Hi Drake,
Sorry for a late reply.
I am guessing that you are using Story through Safari browser. The shortcuts to change element types are in Safari are:
Apply Scene Heading : Control + 1
Apply Action : Control + 2
Apply Character : Control + 3
Apply parenthetical : Control + 4
Apply dialogue : Control + 5
Apply transition : Control + 6
Apply shot : Control + 7
Apply General : Control + 8
There are another set of keyboard shortcuts that affect the behaviour of 'Tab' and 'Enter' keys while you are typing some element.
e.g. when you are typing a 'Scene Heading', pressing 'Enter' will move you to an 'Action' element. Similarly while typing an Action element, pressing 'tab' key will add a new 'Character' element.
You can customize these set of shortcuts from Temple option of Edit Menu.
I hope this helps -
X230 stylus not working in Photoshop on Windows 8
I've been using Adobe Photoshop CS6 for several months now, since I got my computer. It worked just fine on Windows 7, the operating system that was on my device. However, after I installed Windows 8 (on a separate hard drive partition), the stylus does not work correctly. I can only paint/erase/edit in any way one pixel at a time, and then Photoshop stops responding to touch input. When I go to use the mouse, it jumps and makes a huge line all the way across the screen to seemingly random points. I realise that I could just switch to the other hard drive to use Photoshop, but that seems like an awfully lot of hassle just to draw. I'm going to try a few more things after posting this, but if anyone else has experienced or found a solution to this problem, I'd like to know.
System Detalis:
Model: 3434 CTO
Operating System: Windows 8
Screen type: Wide-view 1366x768 Gorilla Glass (the one that supports only stylus input, not multitouch)
As far as I know, I have all the drivers related to this from Lenovo installed. I'll edit this if I find a solution or some detail I missed about the problem. Most of the problems come from the abomination Microsoft calls a browser---Internet Exploder 11.
IE has always been the problem child of browsers, but 11 has got to be the biggest pile of garbage to come out of Redmond, WA since Vista. They rewrote the "User-Agent Strings", which websites use to identify the browswer and provide the proper content for it, like ActiveX specific things. Some sites now ID it as Gecko (Firefox) while others ID it as Webkit (Chrome or Safari). Problem is, that when the content is adjusted for those User-Agent Strings, it REQUIRES the appropriate browser engine, which IE doesn't have (it uses Trident). EVERYTHING falls apart after that.
So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using a different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
Firefox (from Mozilla)
Opera (from Opera)
Safari (from Apple)
Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.
