Multitouch trackpad advice and help

Hi guys
can anyone please tell me if this Macbook pro has the multitouch trackpad?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=12 0318678309
thanks so much in advance

Just for further clarification, it has the February 2008 iteration of the MultiTouch, it does not have the glass MultiTouch with the four-finger commands that was just released.

SharePoint 2013 Snippets usage advice and help
I am new to SharePoint Site development.  I am creating a simple public website to look similar to their old one.
I have created a masterpage that looks OK using the design manager, and also a page layout. I have got the website looking half OK.
I seem to have difficulties all the time when it comes to snippets - and finding specific help on how to use each individual one.
So the main question - where would you advise I go to get help?
    The current snippet issue is:
      > regarding to top navigation menu
      > I have inserted one into the masterpage - and got it working
      > However it will not let me do submenus when I go into Edit Links
      > But I then went to site settings and did the edit links from there
      > It let me there - but it's a different menu !! (I now have two)
      > I can't see this second menu from within the snippets - it defaults to one that does not allow sub menus
      > So how do I change the snippet to look at the menu I was able to edit
But more generally - when I get this kind of issue, where to I look for the solution?
    Thanks in anticipation

    Hi Mike,
Go through the links for SharePoint 2013 Snippets. It'll help you in a better way.

  • TS3899 Since switching ios7 cannot send and recieve e mails - doing my head in need some advice and help!

Open to answers... Not getting help from apple

You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists. If it does, remove the email accounts from mail and add them again.

  • Project advice and help

    Hi all,
I am going to start on my project for my master program. I was wondering if anyone can help me?
i  need to know what I can use that is low cost.
I will be using labview 8.0. I need to communicate with a hardware of anytype.
what i have in mind is probably a camera, video or something. or even a tv screen/dvd player.
the idea i have is to read those videos into labview and do some type of compresssion or something.
i dont know where to start. dont know what pci to use. does anyone have an idea?
    please help me..
    thank you in advance
    Best regards,
    Krispiekream

    Hi there
I'm not sure what to advise as your description seems a little vague.
You say you would like to read signals into labVIEW. This sounds great, you can do loads of great stuff in labVIEW with Vision though I would ask do you have the vision toolkits for labVIEW 8.0 or Vision Assistant,  Vision Builder?
For more information on these I would recommend you look at http://www.ni.com/vision/software.htm
Hardware - you would like to communicate with hardware of any type?      TVs etc are passive so these yyou cannot easily communicate with image-wise. I think a camara is your best bet though again the method of receiving your signal is somewhat imaterial for this you could just use a saved vidio file. How exactly do you want to compress it?
If you can give me slightly more clarity then I will try and advise.
    best regards

  • Some advice and help with sound please

i have just upgraded! to premier elements 8. when i import a dvd all the sound plays when viewed on the preview but as soon as i drag it down to become the next clip everything is heard (background music, dogs barking chit chat etc) except the voices of the actors. any suggestions would be appreciated. of course just to frustrate me it doesn't happen on all clips

This is extremely odd, as if all of the sounds are heard in the DVD, you are working with that mixed Audio Stream. PrE does not break this apart, i.e. un-mix the Stream from the DVD.
When played on either a computer through DVD player software, or on a TV through a set-top player, do you hear all frequencies?
When you have Imported the VOB, do you hear everything in the Source Monitor?
Are you saying that when you drag the Clip to the Timeline, suddenly the frequency ranges of human speech disappear? That is very, very hard to accomplish with a professional Audio editing program, let alone have it happen automatically and accidentally in PrE.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Creating bootable EXTERNAL HD - advice and help needed please

    Hi all,
First of all I hope this is the right place to put this topic, if not then please move it to the right place.
    Right, now my problem.
As I have a few programs that do not work with Snow Leopard yet, but do with Leopard, I wanted to know if it is possible to create a bootable HD (partition) on my external HD without losing all the data that is on there now? I have a 1TB external drive on which I would like to do this, and then install OSX Leopard on it to be able to use the software that is not Snow Leopard compatible yet.
The software I am talking about is most of the Line 6 software like the Variax Workbench
Thanks in advance and best regards
    Peter

If there's ample free space on the ext HD to hold what's on the int HD, then this is the way to do it quickly and not lose anything currently on the ext HD. These steps assume that the ext HD is formatted as Mac OS Extended.
    1. Download and install Carbon Copy Cloner (CCC).
    2. Double-click on the ext HD's Desktop icon, select list view in the Finder window that pops up, CMDSHIFTN (creating an untitled folder), uniquely rename that folder (e.g., Don'tTouch), and put everything currently on the ext HD into that folder.
    3. Launch CCC, select the internal HD as source, select the ext HD as target, select, Backup Everything, uncheck the +Delete items that don't exist on the source+ option, click the Clone button, enter your admin username & password, and click OK.
    4. When CCC reports back with a good cloning, quit CCC, launch System Preferences->Startup Disk->select the ext HD, and click Restart.
    5. If the machine successfully boots with the clone on the ext HD (select Apple icon->About This Mac->Startup Disk->"name of ext HD"), then ensure that it looks and operates exactly like the original did.
    6. Launch Disk Utility, select the int HD, and erase and repartition it to suit your needs.
    7. Launch CCC and reclone the clone to its int HD volume.
    8. Install Leopard onto another int HD volume, include those Leopard-only apps, and you have a dual-boot int HD, but only have the SL volume backed up. As others have noted, you need to consider backing up the other stuff on the ext HD (in "Don'tTouch") and providing for a clone of the new Leopard installation.

Only work with FSB or RAM first. Don't do both at the same time. It is best to start with FSB first. CPU V. increase is done at point of no post. My P6N's E6600 still uses the stock cooler @ 3.0. Make sure Spread Spectrum is 'Disabled', & System Clock is set to 'Manual". Since your at 2.7 now, guessing FSB is 1200. Raise in small increments until no post, add + one step CPU V. & retest for post.
To reach 1333 (333X9=3.0) with mine, it took + two CPU V. steps, an increase of NB to 1.275, SB 1.55, & FSB VTT V. 2%. Once stable, I kept my RAM at 800. Not having a copy of your manual, I'm not exactly sure of your bios Cell Menu layout.
Once you have reached your goal, 3.0-3.2 stable, & want to increase mem. from 667 to 800, set DRAM Clock to 800, use the JEDEC Std. timings of 5 5 5 18, DRAM V's. of 1.95 (Max. 2.1). If stable at JEDEC, you could try tightening the timings to the EPP rating 4 4 4 12 DRAM V's. 2.1. If that works, great. If not, just revert back to the JEDEC Std.
Great info & advice man. Thanks. I will have questions though because I don't fully understand what all of this means. For instance, what are those values : "an increase of NB to 1.275, SB 1.55, & FSB VTT V. 2%"...?
As soon as I've installed my Noctua, I'll start working on that OC. I'd love to reach 4.0GHz like Jack...think that's possible? Thanks!

  • Multitouch Trackpad, Windows XP and spurious selections

I've got a MBP unibody, 15", running Windows XP in Bootcamp. I've updated to the most recent Multitouch trackpad driver. What I'm seeing is if I swipe across the trackpad rather quickly and raise my finger during the swipe (the finger doesn't come to a stop before lifting off the trackpad) if the cursor ends up on a selectable item (a link, an icon, etc.) then that item is erroneously "clicked" (though there was no click involved). Thus, quickly tracking over a web page might end up clicking a link even though I was only sliding my finger. Or, if I've got a window selected and I swipe all the way to the edge of the screen, the cursor stops at the edge of the screen but then inserts a click right there, effectively deselecting the window. I've not seen this reported anywhere and wondering if anyone has seen this phenomenon. It's easily reproducible on my machine.
    Thanks.

I don't have a fix, but I have called Apple about this problem.
They have a bad response to it too. Out of the 10 people I've talked to, 9 of them blame Windows for my problems and refer me to Microsoft to get an adequate driver for the APPLE trackpad.
Sorry I can't help, but Apple can't help me and I'm left with an expensive and useless laptop for college since I cannot even use the trackpad in Windows for some of my college engineering programs.

    Does it charge?
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Try another cable
    - Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, cracked or broken plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store.

It sounds like it is time to restore from the backups you made just before making the disk changes.
You can re-partition and restore your backups.  If you didn't make backups first (you were warned that it might damage things and to make sure you had a good backup) then you will need to repartition everything and reinstall from scratch...

  • I have a 2011 iMac 27" i7 and the bluetooth connected trackpad, keyboard, and mouse all go haywire after awhile. This just began today and cannot make the issue go away. Nothing was downloaded, no software updates, etc. please help!

Oops, sorry, using my iPad for this. My iMac's Bluetooth-connected devices are going haywire after awhile of use. All three things--the trackpad, keyboard, and mouse--act up, especially the trackpad, by being overly sensitive and often just clicking and moving on its own. I've restarted the computer, I've swabbed batteries out of the devices, and nothing has worked so far in solving this issue. I downloaded Lion when it came out and had the update last week (I think), but today is the first day to experience this issue and nothing was downloaded today. I've been sending out a flurry of emails, but nothing else to hint at why this problem happened. Any ideas??

Humm, thank you. I have my iPhone and iPad on the wireless network, and yeah--using the rechargable batteries. I'll try normal batteries and re-join the phone and get back to you. May take a day or so because the semester starts today. Thank you again.

  • Multitouch trackpad drivers...

    Hi there,
I've seen several posts about it but don't know what to do: the latest multitouch trackpad updates cause blue screen crashes (applemtp.sys is mentioned) on my BootCamp XP. Is there a known workaround to avoid this? I don't want to go back to the old drivers.
I've tried following some of the tips suggested on websites that mentioned this problems but they didn't help; I tried disabling the "Apple Multitouch Mouse" driver but after a while got the blue screen again...
Any chance anyone knows how to solve this? ... or better yet: any chance of getting a fix from APPLE???
    Thanks.

the pinch on the trackpad is not working at all, meaning that i can not zoom in and out from the trackpad, i have to do it with command + and command -, but all other functions are working properly
note that i am not facing this trouble in any other application only in firefox, Safari is working properly

Mine still isn't working after this, though, and I don't know why... I used to like Firefox, too.

  • Keyboard and trackpad freeze and unresponsive

keyboard and trackpad freeze and unresponsive happen occasionally.
This is not a rare case. Please do not want to circumvent nor dodge the problem and issue. Don't pretend that this prolem is minor and not important.
When there is something wrong, please admit that there is something wrong and appologize!!
Be responsible for those people who pay $1,800 dollars, which they earn for working day and night and till late night everyday!!

This Apple article may help you with this issue.
Other users have reported that leaving any USB device connected to the MacBook Pro prevents the issue from occurring. A workaround for the moment, but not too onerous.
    Best of luck.

  • Why are iTunes, View, Window, and Help menu items disabled?

I am frequently encountering an issue in iTunes 10.5 (141) where all the menu items in the iTunes, View, Window, and Help menus are disabled (greyed out). Why is this happening and can it be stopped?
I've seen this issue on different Mac OS X 10.7.2 machines. It seems to occur during playlist manipulation, where I'm making new playlists, adding items to them and editing them and the items. In the worst cases, I'm forced to quit and restart iTunes, although I have to quit by using the context menu option in the Dock as the Quit option is disabled in the application.
I'd appreciate any advice on workarounds for this that don't involve quitting and restarting iTunes.

I'm also having the same issue.  It was happening with 10.5.1 and now still with 10.5.2.  I'm using a 2008 iMac running 10.6.8.  I do not use iTunes Match.  This seems to happen for no apparent reason i/o/w, I can't determine a pattern as to when it happens, but it occurs about once in every 10 times that iTunes is open and it seems to happen after it's been open for a while, but again, no particular pattern.
Sometimes, all the menu items are grayed out, and other times, 70% of the menu items are grayed out.  I can still use the other functionality in iTunes, but must must Quit from the dock (it quits gracefully and no Force Quit is necessary).  Relaunching restores eveything to normal for about a week.
I work with technical diagnostic issues and can usually pinpoint a problem, isolate an issue, or determine a pattern, but this one has me stumped. I thought 10.5.2 might fix it, but no.  Maybe 10.5.3?
