Multitouch trackpad drivers...

Hi there,
I've seen several posts about it but don't know what to do: the latest multitouch trackpad updates cause blue screen crashes (applemtp.sys is mentioned) on my BootCamp XP. Is there a known workaround to avoid this? I don't want to go back to the old drivers.
I've tried following some of the tips suggested on websites that mentioned this problems but they didn't help; I tried disabling the "Apple Multitouch Mouse" driver but after a while got the blue screen again...
Any chance anyone knows how to solve this? ... or better yet: any chance of getting a fix from APPLE???
Thanks.

One more bug with BootCamp
Some times Cooler don't work.
I use "InputRemapper" program for turn on cooler and set RPM.

  • Macbook Pro 4,1 (Early 2008) Multitouch Trackpad Update Issues

I've searched around the discussions and haven't seen any other posts, any input would be greatly appreciated.
I have the last MacbookPro model before the unibody model came out, so it's got a three finger multitouch trackpad and a trackpad button.
Before the unibody model came out, the trackpad was fine, but after the trackpad update for multitouch trackpads I've found a couple of issues.
When I click (both tap and button) on any stacks in my dock, they open, but when I click it again it should close, but does not respond to multiple clicks. I have to move somewhere else on the screen instead.
Also, before the trackpad update, the zoom in/out pinch gesture worked in the finder. With any window you had open, you could change the size of the icons or zoom in and out of the thumbnails and the previews in cover flow view. After the trackpad update, these gestures no longer work.
Has anyone else experienced these quirks?
    Thanks.

So a bit of an update-
After doing some more searching, this discussion popped up
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8633568&#8633568
and the problem with multitouch gestures for finder windows has been solved
the zoom using trackpad option has been moved to the finder menu inside of preferences>advanced.
I think that I also figured out what was wrong with my trackpad with regards to clicking. For some reason, every time I restart my computer, the double click speed defaults to really slow. Anyone else have this issue?

  • Multitouch Trackpad, Windows XP and spurious selections

I've got a MBP unibody, 15", running Windows XP in Bootcamp. I've updated to the most recent Multitouch trackpad driver. What I'm seeing is if I swipe across the trackpad rather quickly and raise my finger during the swipe (the finger doesn't come to a stop before lifting off the trackpad) if the cursor ends up on a selectable item (a link, an icon, etc.) then that item is erroneously "clicked" (though there was no click involved). Thus, quickly tracking over a web page might end up clicking a link even though I was only sliding my finger. Or, if I've got a window selected and I swipe all the way to the edge of the screen, the cursor stops at the edge of the screen but then inserts a click right there, effectively deselecting the window. I've not seen this reported anywhere and wondering if anyone has seen this phenomenon. It's easily reproducible on my machine.
    Thanks.

I don't have a fix, but I have called Apple about this problem.
They have a bad response to it too. Out of the 10 people I've talked to, 9 of them blame Windows for my problems and refer me to Microsoft to get an adequate driver for the APPLE trackpad.
Sorry I can't help, but Apple can't help me and I'm left with an expensive and useless laptop for college since I cannot even use the trackpad in Windows for some of my college engineering programs.

  • Multitouch trackpad advice and help

    Hi guys
can anyone please tell me if this Macbook pro has the multitouch trackpad?
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=12 0318678309
    thanks so much in advance

Just for further clarification, it has the February 2008 iteration of the MultiTouch, it does not have the glass MultiTouch with the four-finger commands that was just released.

  • Multitouch trackpad feature in Mac Book ?

Any plans to add new multitouch trackpad feature in Mac book ? I am looking for 13.3' display with multitouch trackpad. This will be a great feature to add in mac book.
If no plans in future, any plans to add this feature (hardware) with extra cost ? I am ready to pay to include multitouch trackpad in mac book 13.3'.
Otherwise, any plan to release Mac book pro in 13.3' display ?
    Appreciate your response.
    Regards,
    Ken

The Official Answers: No, No and No.
No Multi-touch trackpad in the MacBooks.
No Build-to-Order option for multi-touch in MacBooks.
    No 13.3" MacBook Pro.
That being said, I think multi-touch will eventually trickle down to the MacBook line. I would not expect to see it within the next year, however. Apple is very secretive about future products, so no one here can say for sure that a 13.3" MBP isn't in the works. Given the existence of the MacBook Air, however, I would say the odds are not good.
As for multi-touch in MacBooks, a reporter asked Steve Jobs this question directly at MacWorld 2008 and SJ answered, "Multi-touch is a feature for our pro customers."

  • Problem with my macbook pro multitouch trackpad with firefox beta 4

When i upgraded to firefox 4 beta, some of my macbook pro multitouch trackpad functions are not working properly,
the pinch on the trackpad is not working at all, meaning that i can not zoom in and out from the trackpad, i have to do it with command + and command -, but all other functions are working properly
note that i am not facing this trouble in any other application only in firefox, Safari is working properly

This post has helped most people with the problem: https://support.mozilla.com/bs/questions/781509
Mine still isn't working after this, though, and I don't know why... I used to like Firefox, too.

  • How to use iphone as a Multitouch Trackpad for my mac?

Hi, I have an old macbook white with SnowLeo which doesn't have the multi touch gesture trackpad but I have an iPhone 4 and I tought maybe there's a way to use it as a trackpad. Does anybody know any good apps for this purpose?

There are a number of options... here are a few:
    http://www.mbpowertools.net/iDevices/WiFiTouchpad.html
    http://www.edovia.com/touchpad
Both of the above are available in the App Store.  You may want to contact the developers to confirm that they will support multitouch on systems that do not natively support it.

  • Laptop keyboard and trackpad drivers for windows7?

Just upgraded my bootcamp partition to windows 7.
    I am on a mid 2009 15" MacBookPro.
I had to totally delete my XP partition, repartition, and reinstall.
Boot camp wouldn't create support files so I followed the instruction in the formum to manually import and install bootcamp 4 support files.
I finally got everything running smoothly except I have limited control of the trackpad, with no way to adjust anything via windows 7 control panels.
and unable to use the top row of the keyboard like I could in xp to control machine volume, screen brightness, keyboard backlit brighness, etc.
are there any specific drivers to fixes these issues.
I came across one post that suggested downloading a program that would help remap the keyboard keys, but that would seem to be a second choice to having the proper drivers.
    Thanks

Well tried to load the windows support software from bootcamp one more time, guess 5 times is a charm, becuase it finally went all the way and didn't hang up at 70%. after install on windows side all things seem to be working fine, thanks Bob.
to all who have looked at this thread guess the advice is keep trying to load the windows support software until it completes.

  • Multitouch trackpad for Mac Pro

Having used my Macbook for editing for quite some time I've gotten really used to the multitouch track pad scrolling back and forth in my timeline and just point and clicking in general. I'm having a hard time getting used to using a mouse now. I have an optical trackball with lots of buttons and scroll wheel but it is still not as convenient to me as the trackpad of my laptop. I can't find anything like it for the MP. Anyone out there ever see anything like this or know how to disassemble a Macbook to hook up its trackpad via usb?

So I just got the Adesso Easy Cat 2 button track pad. So far so good. It's no Apple track pad but not bad. For some reason it doesn't have the horizontal scroll bar like it show in the picture and says it has, even though the model number on the pad is right so hopefully Adesso can address that. It seems like a decent pad though. I can left and right click on the pad and reprogram the 2 physical buttons to do other things. It can be programmed specifically to each program so it can function differently with different programs. Just thought I'd put in my 2 cents so far!

  • BootCamp trackpad drivers keep failing

I installed a brand new windows partiton and installed the bootcamp drivers, this worked fine for about a week but then I plugged in a USB mouse.
When I removed the mouse again it turned out the trackpad had entirely stopped working, I locked and unlocked the laptop which made the trackpad work again, but now the drivers are gone and I'm now stuck without rightclicking or scrolling.
I know that reinstalling the drivers will probably fix the issue but this happens every single time I plug in a USB mouse on a windows partition and it's getting pretty tiresome, is there any way to keep the drivers from failing?

I also have a similar issue. Very annoying, and goes away when you reboot.
I can also report that I have unknown devices in the device manager, and no telling hardware failure errors in the event log.
Could you provide a more specific link? That one doesn't go anywhere helpful.

  • Bootcamp trackpad drivers for windows 7 seem to get overwritten.

I'm running windows 7 ultimate on my macbook air 13", partitioned with bootcamp 3.2. I've installed the windows 7 bootcamp drivers and applied the track pad settings, and they work correctly for a while, but then they seem to just vanish. I go back to bootcamp and the tab for track pad settings isn't there. This seems to happen about once a week. At first I thought that windows updates were overwriting the bootcamp drivers, but I've disabled automatic windows updates and the problem still persists. If do a repair install of the bootcamp drivers, it works correctly for a a while. But as I said, I have to reinstall about once per week.
    Any suggestions?

  • Multitouch trackpad double tap not working ????

yesterday i was having oily food nd by mistake oil get on to the trackpad nd  then  my laptop went crazy, mouse started moving itself !!!!!!! after few min.i cleaned it with wet tissue paper nd afterwards every thing was fine  rtoday i noticed that double tap is not working  i am not able to drag any folder with double tap    iam doing it with click plzzz help

It sounds that you still have contaminants in your track pad.  Take it to a qualified repair facility.  As a last resort you may spray the track pad with non-residue electrical cleaner to wash away the contaminants.  This may or may not work and entails an element of risk.
    Ciao.

  • Multitouch Trackpad issues in Chrome and Firefox

In both Chrome and Firefox, when I do the 3-finger swipe from right to left to go back a page, the window hides instead.
The 3-finger swipe works the way it is supposed to in other programs including safari.
The trackpad also functions as normal in a fresh user account.
which files do I need to remove in order to fix this issue since it is related to my account?

As boydbme pointed out the 3-finger left swipe works in both Chrome and Firefox in a fresh new user account. So the problem lies somewhere in the touch pad settings for his (and my) user account. And the problem is not associated to one specific application - it's all non-Apple applications.
And the weird thing is that it hides the window(s) (not just minimize - it's completely gone) and it changes focus to last active application. Even minimized windows of the application disappears from the dock. But when you click on the application in the dock the windows and minimized windows reappear.
So I will just quote boydbme:
"Which files do I need to remove in order to fix this issue since it is related to my account?"

  • Terrible Trackpad Drivers for Bootcamp

I have a brand new late 2013 Macbook Pro 13 Haswell and I am running bootcamp and Windows 7. I need both sides of this computer to function very well as this computer is now my only computer. I love everything exept the lack of multi-touch on the Windows side an in my experience the general poor functioning of the trackpad in Windows 7 (poor resoltuion, will not always come out of right click mode). I tried Trackpad ++ but that killed my WIndows 7 Install and I had to reinstall everything. Condiering returning the computer because I need to do work using Windows 7 and Visual Studio and not sure I can live with this.

You can use trackpad ++. But it might scramble your sound card driver. I can hear crackle sound in itunes after I've installed trackpad ++.
