Multiuser install on OS X 10.8 has usage/license issues

I'm a recent convert to both Mac and Creative Cloud so my previous standalone Lightroom 4 license is available for me to reinstall. I've decided to install it onto a Mac Mini server I've just purchased as I want to use it to go through a large(ish) catalog generating a few thousand small images in preparation for copyright registration of my images.
I've been trying to do the sensible thing on the Mac Server by way of having an "admin" account as the main account, then creating standard users for day-to-day usage such as for the above.
I initially installed LR 4 using a "standard" user account & it immediately went to 0 days eval left and prompting for a license number. As I have mine anyway i entered the details but LR won't actually run. The furthest it gets is prompting again for the serial.
I then tried installing it via the admin account and it behaved as expected this time, i.e. initially offering either serial installation or a 30 day trial, but when trying to run it as a "normal" user it repeatedly prompts for serials & won't actually run, even after serials are entered.
In a nutshell then it runs fine under the admin account (which I don't particularly want to do) but won't run at all under a standard user, whether installed as that user or not.
Any suggestions as to how to get it working correctly?

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, the App Store may prompt you to update "Angry Birds" or "Twitter," but the hacked app may be something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you must carry out a systematic search with Spotlight.
1. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.

File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select

Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select
Raw Query
as the criterion, then click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of the menu of search criteria. That's where you enter the raw search query. Click in that box and paste the text you copied earlier by pressing command-V.
4. The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test.
If you find these instructions confusing, ask for an alternative method.

Pretty soon the trial version of 9 that I installed pops up telling me it has expired but it would take me to a way to buy a valid serial number and then 8 stops working again. I’d be happy if the 8 I paid for worked right or I could get 9 for a small cost but I cannot afford $450 or $20/month. I need a permanent solution that I should be already paid for with 8 pro.

After multiple repair procedures with reboot in AA8 I was eventually able to restore the printing to pdf function from various software. However I have again lost my Acrobat tab in Outlook 2007. I need that back, but today an even bigger problem arose. AA8 has stopped printing to fax. It faxes a blank page. The only fax printing option is “Microsoft Shared Fax Driver”. My fax software is “Windows Fax and Scan” and it was working fine just a couple weeks ago. My OS is Windows 7 Professional.

Steps on Installing iPod Shuffle on Comp that has iPod Mini Installed

I will be getting an iPod Shuffle soon and will be installing it on the same computer that already has my iPod Mini (2nd gen) installed. It's a PC and I'm running XP Home with iTunes version 6.0.1.3. I was just wondering if prior to getting the Shuffle if there are any steps that I should follow when installing it. I understand that there are some issues with muliple iPods so I'm just getting as much info as I can.

But what the article doesn't tell me is if I should still input the CD that comes with the Shuffle..or if I should just try plugging it in directly when I get it. I'm assuming that I still input the CD and run the Shuffle installation and then when it gets to the iTunes installation I just quit (since I already have iTunes on my computer)?? Is that right?

So you can't manually drop songs into the Shuffle from iTunes (like you can with the Mini)? Are you saying that the preferences have to be set to automatic to get music onto it?
You can move songs to and from the iPod shuffle playlist in iTunes so that only the ones you want on the shuffle appear in that playlist.
Do I not need to format the Shuffle to work with my PC?
The iPod shuffle comes in FAT32 format, and only works as a music player when it is in this format. The iPod nano comes in FAT32 format, but converts itself to HFS+ if the first machine it is plugged into is a Mac.
So, even if I have the 1.4.1 update and 6.0 of iTunes (which I believe are the latest) I can just plug it in without running the install/format from the CD?

I couldn't find the edit button on my original post so I am posting an update here.
I have gone through more apps and have had good luck on all but one more. And it's not that the app doesn't work, I am talking about the Yahoo Weather app, It works fine, but when you swipe between cities the screen lags a bit and it sometimes doesn't move between pages the way it should. On iOS 7.1.2 it was smooth as butter but on iOS 8.0, not so much. I will post a note in the app store to let them know. I really like the Yahoo app better than the new stock app.
I have been going through my games and they all work fine. Angry Birds (Original and Stella), Canabalt, Minecraft, Bejeweled 2, Silly Walks, PopWords, Doodle Jump, Deep Green all seem to work just fine.
Starbucks app works as it should.
I will stop back again next week after I have had the weekend to play with it in detail and post my thoughts again.

If your phone was EVER hacked to unlock it, when you updated the hack was removed and it's now re-locked to its original carrier and will work only with a SIM card from that carrier..

Assuming that you are in Win (which you haven't said), you can try using this tool to first remove all traces of previous versions of Reader:

Then, download the full offline Reader installer from

and run it immediately after restarting your computer.

Product Instance has pre-9.0 licenses installed. These can be migrated via the License Planning page.

I am looking at upgrading my UC cluster from 9.1 to 10.5 and when looking at ELM I see the following message at the bottom of the Inventory > Product Instances page:

I have searched around but I cannot find any info on this message or how i am supposed to migrate the licenses.

You would only get that if you upgraded to 9.1 and didn't upgrade the licenses through ELM. I would consult with cisco tac (licensing) or your cisco partner to validate you're fully in compliance and that nothing was missed when you upgraded to 9.
Check out this tech note on license migration from 8.x to 9.x to verify you do this before going to 10.5.

It basically involves going to the license planning page, performing the 'license upgrade', select the product instance and counts then send that all over to licensing @ cisco.com with a license request.

Seems to be a somewhat common problem (by google search) for Adobe and Microsoft programs, but nothing on FMLE...
Everything I have tried (from google'd suggestions) has not worked.
I suspect that the installer is trying to install to an invalid path but I cannot find it in the registry or figure out why the error. The program was previously installed and working, but after having some issues I tried to re-install and find myself here!
Any help is greatly appreciated.

It would appear previous version could not be uninstalled because of invalid path {somehow over time windows had re-assigned drive letters such that previous location of install on external hard drive F: (as in registry), was now pointing to DVD drive F: and I assume generated the 1324 error, path has invalid character}.
Used Revo Uninstaller to clear all traces of former install and "voila", fresh install of FMLE proceeded successfully.
Hope this helps others with this error code.
