Table: Cross tab

2)Attributs: Co-obj-wbs elemt,costcentr,order
3)Measure:Budjet aproval overall, Budjet for annul,Actual cost, Actual quantity, planned cost, planned quantity
when drag i dimension co-obj,attributes and all measures it showing values but when i drag attributes and measures (No need to drag dimension) it is showing in crosstab
# Multivalues error in all measure fields.
Can you plz give me suggestions on this.
Thanks
Ganesh

Hello,
Please check if you have used exception aggregation on measures in the BEx queries. These aggregation might be using some dimensions as reference characteristics. And if that dimensions are not included, you might get these multivalue error.

  • Error formatting Cross-Tab table

    Hello!
My CR2008 reports include many cross-tab tables and till now, everything went smoothly.
...till I got the message "Error formatting Cross-Tab table" while viewing the print preview.
Technically the error comes up while clicking one of the groups itemized on the left.
The database hasn't changed. Besides it happened with two different reports associated with two different data bases.
    Any idea ?
Any help would be appreciated as I've been lost for a while.
    Thib'

Before I received your answer (thanks a million by the way), I have been installing/un-installing subreports in the main report 'til the 'Error formatting Cross-Tab table' stops.
The Error stopped occurring when I added a small Group Footer in the subreport : apparently the Error had begun when I had put it to a zero-height.
Having said that, an hour later and many changes here and there, I have just put a zero-height again and no Error anymore...
    > Check in the main report design tab to see if the width of the subreport fits within the page of the main report.
    > If it doesn't try shrinking the subreport to fit.
Within 'an hour later and many changes here and there', I did the opposite : I widened a subreport which did not fit in the main report. And the Error isn't raised anymore.
    > What happens if you drill into the subreport?
You mean if I double-click the subreport to edit it ?
If that is your question, no Error has ever been raised in the subreport : always in the Preview tab of the Main Report.
Sorry for describing such an irrational behavior.
I will categorize my question as answered but if you have any idea, I'd be delighted : I feel like this can happen again and I'd be less under stress to know what detail/ 'parameter' makes CR raise this Error. But your hint about the subreport fitting or not within the main report might be a clue.
    Thank you again

  • Receiving an 'Error formatting cross-tab object' error when paging through preview

I have a report with two subreports in the group footer.  One of the subreports contains a cross-tab report.  When I preview the report as a whole, occasionally I get an error formatting cross-tab object and then no more pages of the report are displayed.  If instead I choose to export the report to pdf, Crystal Reports crashes.  Any ideas on what might be causing these problems?

Actually, you can search for them by entering the KBA number in the search box in the top right  corner of this web page. KBA 1214209 comes up fine. KBA 1212875 does not, but it's not really applicable.
While we are at the search box, see if a search term like 'crystal cross tab' (or something like that) bring up other KBAs.

  • Cross-tab bar chart error.

    Post Author: Kristofor
    CA Forum: Charts and Graphs
I created a bar-chart based on a cross-tab, but the bar-chart ends up merging two rows of the cross-tab into a single series rather than displaying them correctly as two seperate series.
As far as I can tell this seems to occur because the labels for the two rows both start with the same two letters (but are otherwise different).  If I don't use labels, but just the database integer IDs, the chart works correctly, but is not labelled in a useful manner.
Has anyone seen something like this and is there a way to work around it?

    Hi,
Try SPRO. Do not know the path by heart...

  • #MULTIVALUE error in WEBI crosstab

    Hello Experts,
I am using cross tab in a webi report and I get multivalue error in WEBI
When I select the table property "Avoid Duplicate row aggregation", I get the below result
As you can see, that in the first image, the Actual cost is calculated correctly, but the Quantity, is anot able to add up and gives multivalue error.
    Please help resolve.
    Thanks
    Shilpa

    Hi Shilpa,
You can use any context In or Foreach.
    Ex. =Sum(<Revenue>) In <Year>
          =Sum(<Revenue> In (<Region>,<City>,<Year>) In <Year>)
Use contexts with Aggregation functions like Sum, Count, Min, Max etc.
For better understanding of Calculation Context you can go through following document :
    http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir4/en/xi4sp5_ffc_en.pdf
    - Smart measures are the ones which have  projection aggregate set as "Database Delegated" which in turn results measure to be calculated by the database itself.
To create a Smart measures you can use calculated key figure or restricted key figure.
In IDT we can achive it by applying projection for measure object.
    Hope this will help....!!!

  • #MULTIVALUE error in some cells only

I am getting #MULTIVALUE error in few cells in a cross-tab report whereas the rest of the cells show correct results. What can be the reason for this.
My cross tab report consists of : Physician(Dimension) as a Section, Metrics(dimension) in the rows and Month(dimension) as columns.
The body contains measures- Rate and Scale. Each Metric has got a defined scale of 0-4 based upon a range of the Rate.
Scale ia a variable created by me as =[Rating Scale] In ([Provider] Where([Rate] Between([Lower Target Pct];[Upper Target Pct]))
    The report looks like:
                        Jan                   Feb                          Mar
                  Rate  Scale
    Metric1
    Metric2
When i try to include the Rate of YTD, the data in the Rate shows correct results wheares the Scale certain cells are appropriate but rest of them throughs #MULTIVALUE error.
I am not able to comprehend whats going wrong in here.
Can anyone pls resolve this issue.

Actually , there is no formula for Scale. Its in-built dimension but to get the correct result in the cross-tab( No irregularities are found for teh results in the horizontal and the vertical report format), I created the variable for scale as follows:
=Scale ForEach(Provider) Where(Rate Between Lower Target AND Upper Target). After using this variable, I got correct results for the monthly/quarterly data wheareas for the YTD it gives #MULTIVLAUE for few cells, where the scale is different for the every months./quarters. It gives correct result where the rate falls in teh same scale zone for all the months/quarters for a certain Metric.
    For .Ex.
    Metric                   Q1                           Q2                  Q3                      YTD
                         Rate     Scale
    Tetanus        94         3                     92     3                91  3                 93       3
    BRC              71        2                      91      3               98    4               83       #MULTIVALUE
I am not able to fathom that why its not taking the YTD into consideration even though I created a different variable for the scale of YTD in which I used the YTD(rate) instead of the actual(Rate).

  • None of the cross tabs are being exported to Excel

    Hi All,
I am experiencing a strange problem of export failing when any of the cross tab is exported. It comes out with a message,
"An error occurred while trying to export the Worksheet.
    (Export failed.) "
This is occuring in Plus and Viewer.
But All the tables are being exported without any problem.
    Any Idea ???
    Thanks

Only iTunes purchases may copy over via File > Transfer Purchases - otherwise syncing is one way, from the computer to the device. To get the rest of your music/films etc onto the new computer you can copy the backup from your old computer onto the new one and then load them into iTunes

  • Calculated members in cross tab

    Hi all,
I have a profit and losses in a cross tab created by a group and I need to add some rows to have the totals.
    For example
    Revenue 1
    Revenue 2
    Revenue 3
    Total Revenue
    Cost 1
    Cost 2
    Total Costs
For total revenue I used a calculated members with that formula:
    GridValueAt(GetRowPathIndexOf("Revenue 1"), CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentSummaryIndex)
    + GridValueAt(GetRowPathIndexOf("Revenue 2"), CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentSummaryIndex)
    + GridValueAt(GetRowPathIndexOf("Revenue 3"), CurrentColumnIndex, CurrentSummaryIndex)
but the problem is that if I haven't for example any data for revenue 2 an error occurs -->argument # 1of "gridvalueat" is out of range.
It's possible to check if the argument exist??
    thanks

    hi alessandro,
i just found your forum post in the unanswered list...hopefully you've already found the answer for this.
GetRowPathIndexOf is looking for the text in a specific cell and not the actuall Row or Column Name.
When it doesn't find it, its output is -1...so you can use that in your formula to ensure that it doesn't break.
for example, if you have a cross-tab that looks like
    Canada        1006
    USA             5555
    Mexico         2331
GetRowPathIndexOf("Mexico") = 2 (as the index starts at 0 for Canada)
    GetRowPathIndexOf("Brazil") = -1
    hope this helps,
    jamie

  • #MULTIVALUE Error while merging

    Hi,
I merged two dataproviders and changed a dimension to Detail and added the detail object to the existing block. It gives me a #MULTIVALUE error.
I found an article which addresses this issue, but i failed to understand how it could be achieved.
below is the link to the article. Can someone kindly illustrate the point?
    Thanks!
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index;jsessionid=(J2EE3417500)ID2135563850DB11704404452781121703End?rid=/library/uuid/80fe4156-743f-2b10-15a9-e96f47dbab16&overridelayout=true

    Sarma,
The article is trying to explain that in a previous release of WebI, that somehow merged dimensions tolerated two values to populate the same cell.  With XI R2 SP2 and onward, WebI was changed to no longer tolerate a "cartesian" output and would instead put "#Multivalue" to give notice.  The simple explanation of what causes #Multivalue is that you are attempting to populate a cell with two values at the same time.  The hard part is in determining why it is happening.  The only way to see what's happening is to get to the data, and you get to the data by creating another tab to your report for the purposes of discovery.  In the new tab start a new grid and one at a time place objects from your data panel into a grid and observe what happens.  Once you get a #Multivalue response, then you've identified your culprit and can then determine why it's happening.  The fix is usually determining the proper metric to use in dissecting your data properly.  Essentially, #Multivalue now serves its purpose as helping to keep you from "hurting yourself" in performing analysis that is not correct.
    Thanks,
    John

  • Issues with cross tabs when trying to convert our cry10 reports to cry 2008

We are trying to convert our reports from crystal 10 to crystal 2008. Reports that contain cross tabs will not execute in crystal 2008. We are getting a report application failed error. Has anyone encountered this? What is the fix?

I did notice that in a formula I am using in the Summarized Fields section I have a Next() on a field that I am trying to compare the next record with the current record. If I take that Next() out, the cross tab will work. Why would using this cause me problems?

  • Problem with Cross Tab in Live Office Connectivity

    Hi Experts,
I am using Live Office Connectivity to build a Xcelsius Dashboard.
The webi Report has data in 4 cross tabs which comes to Xcelsius as 4 LO Connections.
The size of the Xcelsius Doc is around 900K. I am getting "Xcelcius has stopped working " error when i preview the document.
Earlier i have built dashboards on Webi Report which used Verticle tables(more than 1 MB in size). I am able to preview them and generate SWF without any problem.
I am working on Xcelsius SP3 on Vista OS with 2 GB RAM.
Is using Cross Tab, responsible for the Application Crash or any other reason?
Please help me in solving the above problem at the earliest.
Please let me know if you need any further information on the same.
    TIA,
    Bhargava Bommidi.

    Bhargava,
Webi cross tabs via Live Office connection should work. Pls see this [post|Re: Does Xcelsius support Cross Tab report via Live Office?; for more detail.
Pls let me know what version of Xcelsius you are using because this error is known to popup when some of the dlls are not registered as well.
    Cheers,
    Ryan

  • Exporting Cross-Tab to Excel using RAS 9.0 - incorrect and data loss

    Hello,
Hope somone can help to solve the following issue.
Develop a cross-tab report using Crystal Report Developer 9.0. service pack 5 or above.
(1). Viewing in Crystal Report - no problem - all rows and columns displayed correctly.
(2). Export to Excel using Crystal Report - no problem - all rows and columns exported correctly.
(3). Viewing in RAS 9.0 - no problem, all rows and columns displayed correctly.
(4). Export to Excel using RAS 9.0 - problem - only one or two rows with last rows are exported but wrong data. Most columns are not exported.  Seems like exporting errors.
RAS 9.0 was patched with hotfix 200603 and service pack 5.
Please help or is there any hotfix or service pack that resolved this problem?  As developer, we can use crystal report for exporting but for users, their only choice is through RAS.
    Thank you very much!

Please re-post if this is still an issue to the .NET Development - Crystal Reports Forum or purchase a case and have a dedicated support engineer work with you directly
