Muse 2014.1 update crash "Two objects claim ownership of UID: U6665 Class: RectPageItem

I updated and now I can't resave the older version. Please help, I need to get going asap.
Thanks,
Matt

Actually, I know what's going on.  The problem is with all the text boxes containing images, being copied into phone version.  In other words; as long the images inside text boxes are in desktop version, they are okay but as soon these text boxes are copied into the phone version, it sets your muse to crash.
To fix my problem, this is what I did:
- I went back to earlier version when I had only desktop version (since muse wouldn't even allow me to delete phone version and crashed every time I attempted)
- In desktop version; moved all the images out of the text boxes.
- activated phone version
- copied the content from desktop version into phone version and re-sized/re-arranged them as usual
That's it.  Just make sure all the text boxes with images inside them, should not be copied into phone version.  You will need to strip out the image from all the text boxes BEFORE you copy them into phone version.
Good luck and let me know if anyone finds this fix working for them.

    Hi guys,
since i updated today i can't save my project file anymore. Getting an error when i try to save saying:
Two objects claim ownership of UID: U3615 Class: Text Frame
Is there a way to fix it or did i lose all my progress from today? That would be devastating.
    Greetings,
    Joern

Please send us a copy of your .muse file at [email protected] and include a link to this thread. If it's too big for e-mail (>20 mb) you could use a service like Dropbox, Adobe SendNow, WeTransfer, etc. We'll repair and return.

Hello I cannot save my file, error: Two objects claim ownership of UID: U70049 Class: Text Frame

Please send us the .muse file at [email protected] along with a link to this thread. If the file is larger than 20Mb you can use a service like Adobe SendNow, Dropbox, WeTransfer, etc. (If you use a service, please include your return e-mail address in the body of the message, since no all services include it in the sharing invite they send.) I have a problem : When I try to save a project of Muse or attempt to modify it, the error " : U15536 Class: Two objects claim ownership of UID. TextFrame "
I have installed the version 2014.2 CC Muse
    How I can fix it?
    Thankyou.

My sincere apologies for the disconnect. I searched the [email protected] case system and found no messages from your e-mail address. Perhaps the file was sent using a file sharing service or from a different e-mail address? We sometimes receive files from sharing services that provide no return e-mail address and that have no other information to connect the sharing invite with a forum thread or customer, so we're left with no way to reconnect with the customer.
I'm personally far less active on the forums since the first of the year. My primary role on Muse has always been as a Developer. I've historically spent a lot of my own time and too much of my work time here on the forum, versus directly working on developing Muse. Since the first of the year, I'm redirecting my time to development. I'm no longer reading every message or checking forum traffic on a regular basis, so I didn't see you last two messages until now.
If you send your current .muse file to [email protected], I'll see that it gets repaired and returned in a timely fashion. If you send a second message with no attachment directly to me, [email protected], I'll confirm the message to [email protected] was received.
We very recently had a break through and determined the pattern of activity that can lead to this damage within a file. We have a fix currently in testing that will be included in the next release (in a few weeks).

  • Two objects claim ownership of UID:2119 Class TextFrame CRASH

I have an issue where i tried to paste something from the home to the mobile page (text box) and now i can't save with out a crash. Luckily the application restores to the same point but, if i try to remove the frame muse crashes, if i duplicate the page and try to remove the mobile page with the frame, muse crashes.
Do i  have to build a whole new site? Can this be fixed?
    Thanks!

Is anyone else having an issue with Muse 2014.2 Freezing/Crashing at launch? It worked perfectly up until tonight and nothing has changed on my computer. I'm running windows 8.1. I've tried logging in and out of CC, I've uninstalled and reinstalled Muse twice with no change. Please advise. Thanks!

Are you getting any error when Muse crashes? what's the one function it lets you do before it freezes?

  • I received another Adobe Muse 2014.3 update request. Is this a legitimate update?

I installed the original adobe muse 2014.3 update 20 days ago. This morning (3-06-2015) I had another notification of a Muse update version 2014.3. Is this a legitimate update. I received it on both my home and work computers. I am hesitant to upload. I know of a company that did an Adobe upload that completely messed up their system.

See link above, there were a few bugs in the launch of 2014.3, this update address them.

  • Help! Muse 2014.3 keeps crashing when I attempt to save my .muse file

I have the latest version of Muse [2014.3] Since the update the application repeatedly crashes at the least 'provocation'.
I'm building a multipage website for a client and brought the last file home [I'd been working on it at my office]. One or two of the image files needed updating, which I did. When I attempted to save the updated file I got [and keep getting] a fatal error.
The error message reads: "Dangling Ref or Ownership: BoxPageItem refers to unknown UID, BoxPageItem refers to unknown UID, BoxPageItem refers to unknown UID".
The application then hangs and I have to force quit. This is happening repeatedly and the dialogue tells me nothing about how to fix these errors [3 image errors perhaps, since the current crashes happen after updating images?]. I'm in a serious time crunch now, how can I recover my file to continue working on this project and what is causing the problem? Anyone help me?
Is this version of Muse really that unstable?
    Thanks,
    Charlie

    Hi Fabia,
I think I fixed it over the weekend. But interestingly, my problem was images inside compositions too.
I did something similar to you, where I didn't let Muse update when the file opens [which was causing the crashes]. Instead I located the images in the assets panel, opened them in Photoshop and resaved them. Then I imported and saved after each one. This seemed to work.
For me, the 'container' was apparently OK, I had the background fill set to none anyhow, so reasoned there might be a problem with one of the seven images [seven in my case, but which one, or maybe all?]. Since then, I've been able to add content and save normally, and this morning I've been able to let the client see the site progress, as promised.
Thanks for the reply and good luck with your project.

  • Muse 2014.3 update has an over-sized user interface.

The Adobe UI Scaling bug has reared its head again, this time with Muse (like with previous versions of PS, AI and ID before it).  See screen grab that makes my 22" HD look like an old 12" monitor (see pasted at half resolution below).
I don't see anyone else with this issue posting, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time. Any suggestions? Do I have to go back to the Windows Environment settings again? I set it to =1 to fix one of the other applications a while back.

Sounds like your Win machine is set to run at 125% scaling (or thereabouts), is that right? Or do you have multiple monitors with different native resolutions, and the "one resolution to rule them all" setting engaged?
Previous versions of Muse would ignore the 125% scale factor and run at 100%.
The new release of Muse (2014.3) also does not support running at 125%, but can run at 150% and 200% scale factors. Muse 2014.3 chooses to run at 150% in this case. For many people with vision impairment or eye strain issues 150% is a better choice than staying at 100%, but we understand it may not be best for everyone. At 150% the cursors will be oversized as you describe (using 2x cursor artwork), but everything else will be drawn crisply at 150% scale.
In the short term, we can add support for an environment variable override similar to what InDesign and Illustrator used (see Application user interface too large | Windows). Would that address the problem for you?
One question, would it be better for you if Muse, InDesign and Illustrator all obeyed the same environment variable override, or would it be better if Muse used a different one? Now that ID and AI have exposed a user preference setting for UI Scaling (see InDesign's below), it might be better if Muse used a different environment variable so as not to override the user preference in AI and ID.
We will aim to add a similar Win-only user preference for the next release of Muse.

  • Muse 2014.3 update won't open past certain point. Please help!

Everything worked fine until I updated 2014.3.
A hangup occurs right at the beginning of opening the new updated version, when Converting User Libraries. It gets to "Coverting User Libraries(Converting eqipment table)", then to "Coverting User Libraries (Save)" when Muse stops and this screen pops up:
I can open the new Muse update in a separate new user account, but it's very awkward and time consuming to have to log in and out of another user each time I work on Muse.
I have spoken to Adobe and tried their recommendations, with no luck. They felt it might be an Apple's permissions problem, so spoke to Apple at great length and tried their fixes. No luck. They feel it has to be an Adobe problem as the program opens, but gets hung up in the process.
I am baffled as to what to do. I greatly appreciate any help!

    Thanks for your reply.
I wasn't able to create a new site in Muse as I couldn't get it to open to that point. It kept getting hung up at the same point as I showed in the screenshots above. After talking to a supervisor at Adobe today and working with him for 90 minutes, the problem was fixed. It was a conflict with some files that I had saved in the Library. He navigated to the CC Libraries within Preferences>Adobe>adobemuseCCLibraries>2014.3. He found the offending images because they had the word "Equipment" which was shown on the screen right before the crash. These were images I was saving for future use, and had worked before I updated. This is a good thing to know for future updates!

  • MUSE 2014.2 Keeps Crashing on Opening Screen

Muse keeps crashing when I try to open it.  I don't know what is going on and this is getting really frustrating.

Were you using the Self-Hosted Fonts feature with 2014.1? (We've had one report of a crash that was caused by the installer failing to migrate all the preference files related to self-hosted fonts.)
Are you on Mac or Windows? What is the behavior you're encountering? If there is an error message please post a screenshot. If there's an Apple Crash Report dialog please copy/paste the contents of the report here.
Also, please send us the MuseLog.txt file from your Documents folder at [email protected] along with a link to this thread for context, of copy and paste the last few pages of that file into a message here.
    Thank you.

  • Muse 2014.3 Update Absolutely Sucks

Worst update I have ever seen. I am continuously crashing for the most random things. I hope you all catch a lot of flack for this. It has screwed up my workflow horribly. I've spent just as much time trying to fix problems as I have my actual work. I hope you all get this fixed real soon.
I go to save. Muse crashes. It recovers site. I try to save recovered site. Muse crashes again. Are we your test cases? Why would you release such a horrible "update"?
One of many different error messages I have received tonight:
UIDs With Multiple Owners: ImageFrame owned by Baselink and PagePageItem
I'm pissed at this point. This has kept me up an extra 2 hours trying to fix. And I will lose all my changes because it crashed when I tried to save them. Which will cost me more time that I don't have on this project.
Everything worked fine until the update. I've never had a single one of these problems. Don't tell me it would have happened on the previous version either, because I never had a single one of these problems on the last version. Just own your crappy update, and let us know when you're going to fix it.
