Muse always opens "maximized" to half screen

Hi,
I have Windows 7 x64 and a 1920x1200 display.
As you may know, if you move a window and touch the left or right side of the screen with the pointer while still holding the window, this is adjusted to cover exactly half screen making easier to place two windows side by side so one covers the left half of the screen and the other covers the right half. Well, I did this with Muse's window once and since then, Muse always starts with the window in this position instead of maximized to full screen.
Windows7 seems to treat this condition as maximized because the icon in the maximize/minimize size button shows the two overlaping squares instead of a single square, so I have to click it to make the Muse window float and then click again to maximize to full screen.
What do I have to do for Muse starting maximized in full screen again and not in half screen? It is very annoying

Hi Juan,
Have you tried clearing the Muse cache? Please delete the AdobeMuse folder from the appdata folder. To get there, click on Start > search for %appdata% and hit Enter.
Let me know if this does not resolve the issue for you.
Cheers,
Vikas

  • I have two screen on my PC. Adobe always opens on the second screen. I would like to change this. Ho

I have two screens on my PC Adobe always opens on the second screen. How do I change this to open on the first screen.

It should (should) stay where you close it from, especially if you have it maximized on that monitor. I can't guarantee that because I'm having the same problem with Firefox this morning. I always open it on my secondary montior, and today it will only open on the primary.

  • Firefox always opens maximized and does not save window size unless I delete localstore.rdf

I use Linux MInt 13 with Cinnamon 1.6.7. Since the updates to Firefox 17 came through the update manager, the program always opens maximized, no matter what state I close it in. When I de-maximize, it comes up in a different size and position than the last time.
Some googling turned up that this can be due to a corrupted localstore.rdf file, and indeed the window sizing works properly if I delete that before starting.
It also works propoerly in safe mode, but even a fresh install without any add-ons, search engines or anything opens in window mode at first startup, but will always open in the same place as the first time after I move and close it, and if I resize it, it goes back to always opening maximized.
Any help to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Hello norumaru, did you try to [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fix-problems#w_turn-off-hardware-acceleration Turn off hardware acceleration] ? (in safe mode hardware acceleration is disable).

  • Always open safari in full screen

For months my imac has always opened safari in full screen now it doesn't n. How do I get this back and how do I keep it from happening in the future?

Step one is to create a new admin user account, log into it, and see if the issue persists.

  • A new window used to open windowed, now always opens maximized

Clicking on "Print" inside of maps.google.com opens a new window.
It used to open windowed, not maximized and always in a certain size.
Firefox crashed, had to restart the PC and now this new window always opens maximized.
I want new tabs maximized (eg, clicking the + button) , but if an application opens a new window, I want it windowed, not maximized.
I deleted prefs.js and localstore.rdf, the problem still persists
    Firefox 24

If the page uses a script to specify certain window dimensions, then Firefox usually will honor those dimensions.
However, if the new window is launched without that information, the window typically will have the same size/state as the current window, or maybe the last closed window.
The information about window sizes and positions is stored in the same file as toolbar customizations. You can get rid of this file without doing a full Firefox reset. Here's how:
Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Leave that window open, switch back to Firefox and Exit
Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then rename '''localstore.rdf''' to something like localstore.old
Restart Firefox. Hopefully now your window behavior will be back to the default.

  • How do I forces FF 23 to open maximized, not full screen, but maximized, both on start up and when opening new windows?

Firefox 23 does not open maximized nor does it open new windows maximized. As such I have to manually maximize each window.
Run is set to maximized in the shortcut properties, yet it still opens in a normal or less than normal size window.
Older versions open maximized with no problem. I have Profile manager configured so that I can run multiple versions at the same time and everything opens maximized except FF 23.
is there some setting in the about:config interface or is this a genuine BUG in the latest version? Any help would be appreciated greatly.
Also can you tell me how to modify the title bar text/icon/etc as well as where to find the icon or portable network graphic (png) file for the main-window.ico or direct me to appropriate knowledge base articles for modifying both.

My localstore.rdf file was fine. The problem was caused by two plug-ins that Mozilla shows as being compatible with Firefox 23, when in fact they both cause undesired side effects.
Maybe the employees of Mozilla should actually test plug-ins before they allow them to be available for download or worse yet, recommend them.
And if any of the in-house developers had a clue they would stop removing old lines of code from Mozilla products so that new versions of Firefox would still be compatible with older plug-ins and extensions people would still like to use.
I had to remove recommended extensions and copy code from older versions of FF and NS and modify settings in about:config to allow older extensions to work to correct the problems and get Firefox to work the way I need it to. All in all I have over forty hours invested in modding FF at this point just to have it function the way it used to.
Unfortunately, since I still can't get buttons designed to open .URL links from the toolbar to work as they did in the past I have a feeling I'll be returning to older code sources to find more answers.
Lucky for me that I have every browser going back to NCSA Mosaic available to me, so every bit of code from the present till back before Mozilla existed is include in my knowledge base. It's a shame Mozilla doesn't keep such a reference available for it's users or apparently it's in house developers and staff.
Maybe I'll even re-enable the splash screen for Firefox since the only available plug-in for that doesn't appear to work with Version 23 either, even though once again the compatibility adviser says it does
It's truly sad that the result of Marc Andreessen's and James Clark's work and Netscape in general became the spawning Mozilla. What used to be a great browser and an acceptable replacement for Netscape, has become a joke. So much for all the hard work and effort made by Dave Hyatt and Blake Ross as well.
I guess that's what one should expect from the developers that are a part of generations X, Y, and Me. The attitudes associated with those generations show in the lack of thought, consideration, and ingenuity that have been a part the last several versions of FF, not to mention, the copying of features from Chrome.
When the only original idea to come out of Mozilla of late is to remove or disable features people have used and counted on for decades, the I don't care, I don't know, and me, me, me attitudes of so many from the aforementioned generations is truly evident in the last twenty incarnations of Firefox. Not to mention the attitudes and unhelpful nature of the responses users encounter when asking for help.

  • Mini Player always opens in center of screen

When I used iTunes on a Mac, I could move the Mini Player to another part of the screen, and iTunes would remember. With iTunes for Windows, the Mini Player always opens in the center of my screen.
    Jim

When I tell my Doc, "It hurts to go like this," he says, "Then don't go like this." So my cure for the Mini Player Blues is not to use it. No one seems willing or able to assist me, so I will solve the issue.

  • Does a New iMac Always Open With The Correct Screen Resolution?

This may sound a daft question but the other day I visited a friend and when he switched his 2 year old 24" iMac on, I was horrified to see black bands down each side of the screen.
It was obvious he had an incorrect resolution. . . . . I think it turned out to be 800x600!
Anyway I reset it to the correct 1920x1200 and he was amazed at the improvement!
I asked him how it had got like that and he said it had always been that way.
My immediate suspicion was that he had bought the machine second-hand from some idiot who had been fiddling with it but he assured me he had bought it new and that's how it had been from the start.
From what I remember, all my computers have started off with the correct screen resolution and haven't needed any resetting.
    Any idea why this happened?

    Thanks Barbara and den.thed.
Your suggestions will be helpful for anyone with a similar problem looking at this thread, however, they don't apply in this case. (Hope that doesn't sound bad! LOL)
This friend bought the iMac a couple of years ago simply to edit with Final Cut Pro. He doesn't use it for anything else and it isn't even connected to the internet. (He uses a PC for all mundane chores like that).
He claims that upon initial startup it displayed the 4:3 desktop image and assumed it was normal for his machine . . . . . . . . though he must have seen others in the shops displaying correctly.
Incidentally it may not have been 800x600, but it was certainly an incorrect 4:3 aspect ratio.
As he is a very intelligent and skilled film maker and editor I am surprised that he never queried it, after years of using PCs.

  • Firefox opens maximized at random on Mac

    Hello,
    I'm using FF 30.0 on OS X 10.9.3.
I don't like having my FF fill entire screen (maximized) so I dragged the window to a specific size I like. The problem is, once in a while, FF will not respect the last window size it was set to and open maximized (fills entire screen resolution. I don't mean full screen mode, just simply takes all available space between the dock and the top menu OS X bar similar to what maximize button on Windows does.). It's really annoying having to resize the FF size once in a while. The behavior started with FF 29.
It will especially happen when working with external display and than going back to working on MBP's internal screen but it can happen even if I wasn't connected to external display in a while. I've found out that if I close the FF window first via cmnd+w and than quit FF it will respect the window size it was set to next time it opens. However if I just quit FF via cmnd+q sometimes it can respect the size of the window it was set to and sometimes not. It's really really annoying behavior so my question is:
    1. Is it a bug? And if yes how can I report it since I don't have a way to always reproduce it.
    2. If it's not a bug and some kind of stupid preference of FF to always try and stick to filling entire screen, how can I disable this?
I'm on the verge of ditching FF entirely because of this since reconfiguring FF window size few times a day is something I really don't want to waste my time with.
    All best,
    Goran

Nobody? I find it hard to believe nobody else experiences this since I'm encountering this behavior on few different Macs with different operating systems such as 10.8.5...

  • Palm Desktop Opens Maximized

Not a major problem - just annoying.  Every time I open the new Palm Desktop v6.22 by Access (on Vista), it opens maximed on the screen, and I need to click to restore to regular size on my desktop.  Is there a setting or registry entry that will open the application normal sized, not maximized?

  • Adobe 9 always opens in a Maximized window

    Hi
When opening a link in Internet Explorer 6 that opens a pdf, the pdf file opens in a maximized window.  When clicking on a pdf file on the computer it will always open in a maximized window.
I have gone into the properties for Adobe and made sure that it is run in a Normal Window.
I have gone into edit > preferences and have not found any options where you can select whether to open in maximized window.
Is there a way to specifiy whether to open the files in a maximized window or, as in this case, to open the window in normal/restore down view.
    Thank you
    Charlotte

    Charlotte,
I'm having the same problem using IE 8.
Did you ever get a resolution for this?  I see no one ever responded to your post.
    Thanks!

Click on the green button.  Or you adjust from the bottom right to fill the window.   With Mac OS X 10.7 or later, you can adjust from any of the window edges.  Only upgrade to 10.7 or later if you have read this tip:
