I just created a CONTACT US form for my new website that I will post through BusinessCATALYST.com
How can I make sure the form will in fact direct emails to my account?

Muse and forms issue
Good morning all, I have an issue that I thought I would ask the greater group to see if anyone has a workaround or fix for what is happening.
Here is what I have:
1. I have a customer that I am redesiging their site and they have this current form on their site that they want me to reuse ( http://www.selectpos.com/rma.htm )
- note at the bottom the buttons look great they look like buttons and operate like buttons.
2. Now I have pulled the code from their old site,and added to the new site with Muse insert HTML were I needed it. It operates great, but note the buttons they no longer look like buttons or act like buttons. ( http://www.selectpos.com/temp/rma.html )
3. That same code just put into a text file and placed in a html file. the buttons come back and is fine. this again is all the same code no changes from the current to redesign and to the simple html file ( http://www.selectpos.com/temp/test01.html )
Not sure what to do, it all work fine in the new site, but I just don't like the buttons at the bottom nor des the client. I need to reuse this code as their customers are familiar with the GUI of the form and are happy with the way it is. their invoice system is tied to the number that is generated. The page is hosted on Godaddy so I can't take it to Adobe Business Catalyst and redo the form there. Note I have tested this on multiple system and browers. it works fine on IPhone and Ipad, but IE 8 and 9, chrome, and firefox nothing.
Any help or direction is greatly appreciate, thank you all in advace for taking a look at this issue and I look forward to your replys and suggestions.

It appears you have now updated the button code to use an image instead.
The issue you are facing is happening due to CSS that Muse uses in order to style input elements. To get the plain default look for a button in Muse, you would need to update the CSS in /css/site_global.css. The easiest option would be to remove the first two instances of "input," (including the comma) from the file and thus the properties affecting the default look of the input element won't apply sitewide.
However, we do not generally recommend editing files generated by Muse as any manual changes you make to files generated by Muse would be overwritten the next time you export/publish a site through Muse. Though this condition does not always apply to common CSS/JS files during subsequent exports at the same location but it does when your Muse installation upgrades to the current latest version where it exports/publishes all files in order to take into affect any improvements/optimization to code made since the prior version.
You might want to test this locally or by directly inspecting the element in a browser if you are comfortable with it.

Can I create a form in muse and have it work with a different hosting service?

I contacted a hosting service that I need to upload the site I built in MUSE to. (Hosting has already been purchased). I asked OMNIS:
I want to create a form with Muse and then upload my site to OMNIS, not muse, the forms will display as I designed them, but they will not function. I have someone to help me who is experienced in working with code. I can use Muse to export my site and then open the files in an HTML editor. "Update the source code of the form to make it compatible with the form processing technology used by your hosting provider (OMNIS) before you upload the files to their server." Can you help me with this? Do I need to get a script or something from you?

I read in another forum:
There's a handy piece of software from CoffeeCup Software called "Web Form Builder". It's pretty affordable and easy to use and it can be hosted on the server of your choice provided that server uses an up-to-date PHP script.
This is what I have been using....but I would rather not have to deal with a third party form builder at all.
Do you reccommend this?

Publishing Site, what happens to temporary site and forms created with Muse?

I want to publish my site, however I am wondering if the temporary .businesscatalyst.com site goes down immediately after I do this? Also, I created the forms with Muse and apparently they are connected to the URL, so will they no longer work? Or do I have to republish them? Also, do I have to pay for the published site if I am creativecloud member? Thanks any insight!

The system url will still remain when pushing live and adding your own domain. The site will naturally reflect your added domain once added however you can always access the site uisng the system URLs.
The form will naturally reflect your added custom domain and will still work under the system URL.

Urgent help - MUSE email form not working - PLEASE HELP

HI to all!!
I'm having a big issue here with Adobe Muse cc 7.0
I have my personal domain www.shepherdtextiles.com
and third party host (here in China which is 72e.net (and yes, got all php and so on requirements Adobe Muse needs)
I follow carefully all steps to add a simple contact form, adding first [email protected] and changing it to my personal hotmail when I saw it wasn't working to try if with hotmail could work, but didn't.
I have checked the Muse PHP Diagnostics and as you can see the mail one failed.....
I used first the simple contact form that comes with Muse and later I used one from museresources.com but none of them seemed to work
I'm just guessing that something is not well setup on my server because I just follow all steps Adobe mentioned and I watched many videos where people do it very simple.
The error I get on my website when I click on submit button is "The server encountered an error"
There is NO error when I export to html or warnings, just exports fine.
PLEASE HELP

I'M having a similar problem with my Muse website Formally hosted by GoDaddy. The contact me widget does not send an email when you click submit button. Normally, it accepts with a green check mark in another screen. It does not do that. The submit just turns black when clicked, but nothing else happens
THe he regular email works. I am able to send and receive. It just does not work with the contact widget

Adobe Muse CC Form for third party hosting servers

I start using the new adobe muse cc forms for third party hosting servers and i have this website for one of my customers i create a CONTACT FORM on the website and when try to submit it says "server encontered an error" i chat with adobe support they send me a URL with the options to fix my problem and then when i run this URL "http://mistercoffeediaz.com/scripts/form_check.php" everything is working fine. Please any somebody help me how to work this issue around. THKS..

BUG: Content moving between Muse and Preview/Browser

Content on the sites I design move from where its placed in the muse application and where it is in preview mode on a browser (or actually uploaded) before the update where it was on Muse was where it was when it was uploaded, what was on preview was just incorecct. However now what gets uploaded is what is shown in preview mode now Muse, which is incorccectly placed.
It's done it in some kind of form on every project I've completed.
Hopefully the pictures below will explain this better.
The items below aren't in the "footer" and this is on a page, not a master.
Any help would be appricated.
The only "cure" I've found for it is to copy the parts which are incorrect, and paste them in place. Usually this makes something else move (in this case the white bar went to where it is in muse and the black sides went back to where they should be in preview so I had to then copy the white bar and paste it in place)

I also find sometimes I have to toggle Scrubbing on/off (s key) once or twice to break out of playhead issues on rare occation.
That's a bug, too, then.
I can get out of it (by clicking with the mouse) and trashing the prefs seems to help - but it looks like a bug to me.
Surely trashing the prefs should not be required - I rearely need to trash the prefs of any other application - and if it is (and it has been since I started using FCP 4) then why the h*ck doesn't FCP X trash its own wretched prefs?

Hi, in that discussion you won't find how to log in and REGISTER to maintain a databse with the user's name, address, etc.
That was what I was looking for, how to handle that process in VEGAS, creating a form to input the user data, store it in a local database created by Muse and then, LOG IN to recover that information.
Do we have any method or way to do this in Muse?

Muse is a monumental and amazing work, and it's great, but... if you don't work extensively in these areas (allow to input and store data), Muse is death. Why? because what I do with Muse, people can do with a blog, like WordPress or Blogger. Of course, Muse give a total control and blogs are just a collection of templates, but if you are creating a website, sooner or later, you will need to store and retrieve data, and operate with that data. To operate with it, you will need to find stuff in variables or add or deduct or multiply or divide stuff to calculate things, for example, the amount of an invoice or the leght from inches to centimeters. Sooner or later, you need this, so I really would like in 2014.3 version I could find something about this.

When i publish from muse ecommerce form in BC gets deleted

I made part of the site in muse and part in BC, now when I publish from muse it deletes the e-commerce form making checkout unavailable.
How can i avoid this?

Sorry fellas, but I have the same problem. Forms that have been used scores of times are still deleted when I update the site from Muse. This fix does not work.
BC is of very little use to me, if I have to rebuild my forms every time I change a bit of text. I'd rather not go through the hassle of moving to a different provider at this stage. Any other ideas?

Muse and HTML5

Hello Creatives!
When I view my website in the browser or in the Muse program it doesn't form to my screen. I started building my site on my desktop then went to work on my laptop and everything is too big. I was under the impression that HTML 5 recognized the screen size of a computer and formed the website to fit it.
I'm just wondering if that information is correct or how do I get my Muse site to convert to HTML 5 and form to the viewer's screen.

Generally you design for a fixed width page, and the space around the page is given the fill color/image of the 'browser fill' you selected in Muse.
If you'd like to have some elements span the whole browser window, you can set that up in Muse. Check out this video:

New Muse Contact Form Widget

I was thrilled to discover that the Muse team has created a contact form widget. finaly!!!

Now I have two questions, in order to get those new widget features I'll probably need to update my version of Muse. right? If so, where can I do it?
Second thing, in the linked video the man mentioned that these options are only avilable for those who publish there websites through Business
Catalyst. Is it the truth? if it is this is so upsetting!!!
Although I am working on my first site with Muse so I'm able to publish it with BC for free, but it is an outrage! as a person who bought only Adobe Muse (and
not Creative Cloud pack) I was going to publish all of my sites on third-party server!
I am now wondering is there a way to do something about that? Is there a way to make the wonderful new widget work on any published site?

Yes, this feature is coming in the new beta of Muse which will be released soon. I'll be posting instructions for participating in the Muse beta shortly.
In regards to the functionality of the upcoming contact forms feature, Zak clarified this will only work with Business Catalyst in the following thread:

...the form functionality coming in 2.0 it targeted primarily at contact forms. If you have "quite a large form" then you will likely still want/need to use a different solution.
The new form functionality uses standard HTML/CSS for the form, but form processing requires integration with server-side code. What will be part of Muse 2.0 works with Adobe Business Catalyst. In order to use the form with some other back-end server solution, the code output from Muse would have to be altered.

Is it still the case that the Muse CC Forms widget will not work properly unless you have Business Catalyst?

I am looking into options for our next office website redesign. We will definitely need a forms function. I downloaded the Muse CC free trial and went through all of the tutorials. The video on the forms (Contact Form) stated that the forms widget would not work or would not work properly if you do not have Business Catalyst. I'm hoping that has changed since the video was created.
Is this still true that you need to purchase the Business Catalyst product for Muse CC form widgets to work correcty???

Piruki have you tried utilizing the Previous version option within the Creative Cloud Desktop application? You can find additional details under the install Previous version section of CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html.

Muse contact form widget

I currently have a yearly subscription to Muse and a webbasics account at Business Catalyst and my site is actually hosted on a third party server Hostmysite.com until that subscription runs out. When I went to use the new contact form widget in Muse it does not work. I spoke with an Adobe represenative and they suggested I use the BC web form builder and style it myself with css/html/javascript to look like the one I designed in Muse or host the site through Business Catalyst as is required to use the widget. I asked the represenative if I had the option to host my site at Adobe with my webbasics plan and my Muse subscription and he said that I would need to purchase a separate hosting package for my site and move it to Adobe servers. However I just read at http://www.adobe.com/products/muse/adobe-hosting.html that an Adobe Muse one-year subscription plan includes hosting for one Business Catalyst webBasics site.*. Is there any way to get this contact form to work still utilizing my third party hosting for now without having to do the styling myself. I have seen some mention of pointing the dns to Adobe hosting but right now I do not want to pay for any additional Adobe hosting. Should I be getting one with my package already. I only have one other site that I created in Muse that is on yet another third party host and I used a business catalyst web form builder to create a contact form and that one works fine and syncs with business catalyst but it is limited in it's styling.

I have found a solution that enables you to use the muse form widget when yor site is hosted on a third party server. You need to create your forms as seperate web pages and then use your free webbasics Business catalyst webspace to host the form, then insert an iframe on the page you want the form to appear on using the insert HTML option. The code for the iframe is:
