Muse and SEO experience

Well, it's been a few months since I replaced the Wordpress version of our site with an Adobe Muse version. Same structure, same copy text, same headings, same photos, same ALT tags, etc. Now, when the Wordpress version was live, we enjoyed a position in the top 10 organic results for our target keywords search on Google, Bing and Yahoo. Now, we're still in the top 10 on Google(yay!), but we've totally disappeared from both Bing and Yahoo. Granted, Bing's webmaster tools finds no problem at all with our site, so I have no idea why we don't show up AT ALL in a search now.
Hopefully this isn't simply a factor of Google lagging behind the others, and will drop our site from search results soon along with the others. At that point I'll have to go back to Wordpress.

We had the same issue and thought that something was seriously wrong. It was .. We then properly updated the metatags in the Page Properties for each page. Then step 2, we went and highlighted all the Headers as H1 and Body text, H2, etc. This fixed everything in a few days. We also went into google webmaster tools and submitted "fetch as url" and sitemap submissions etc. Its a painful process but what I realized was that while we easily create headers, text frames etc, with Muse, its quite possible to ignore the structured layout that the Search Engines are looking for in a site. Once you fix these attributes of your text, you will be good.

Publishing through Muse and Hosting through Adobe

To begin with if this is the wrong area for this post please point me to where I need to take it or if a mod wants, please move it.
So I bought access to the whole CC suite so that I could learn some new things and expand my abilities but I am mostly just a photographer so outside of Photoshop and Lightroom I don't have a lot of experience, so if I sound ignorant.....well I am.
I started building my own personal site with Muse and if I understand correctly I can host it through Adobe using one of my five free hostings included with my CC sub. (I am still not entirely sure what that means includes) Now I would like to have a forum with it where registered people can post topics, comments, etc. and it can be moderated by myself and anyone I wish to allow moderator status. I read through several help topics and supposedly I can create one with Business Catalyst? All the information I have found seems to be either outdated or doesn't really go into much depth about what I am/need to do to make it work. If someone could point me in the direction of some more updated tutorials, guides, or whatever I would really appreciate it. I don't mind long videos or a wall of text I just need to find some current explanations.

A Creative Cloud subscription lets you redeem and launch five free sites, which are web basic in nature. You can use Business catalyst Forum feature, but to use it you need to upgrade the site plan to higher plan.

Integrating Adobe Muse and Business Catalyst

Hello. Normally I don't take on CMS or E-Commerce sites because I'm kinda simple in the head when it comes to figuring out code and stuff, but with the integration between Adobe Muse and Adobe Business Catalyst I'm thinking about giving it a shot. (And I kinda need the moolah, to be honest...)
I'm trying to bid two sites, one CMS and one a fairly small E-Commerce, both for the same customer. I'm hoping to find a kind and patient person with Business Catalyst and Muse experience who can help me figure out what BC will cost so I can bid the job accurately (BC has so many different packages and whatnot I really don't know which one to buy - I'm truly baffled by the options and don't want to bid the sites based on BC costing me $400 a year, only to find I need to buy the $900/month option), then help answer all the goofy questions I'll have when I try to get Muse and BC to work together. If anyone is willing to help me through this project via phone and/or e-mail, please PM me - I'll gladly pay for your time (I don't expect good advice for free).

CMS is offered with the "Web Marketing" plan while online shop capabilities can be enabled via "E-Commerce" (which also includes CMS)

Changing hosts and SEO

Hello,
I'm creating a new Muse site for a client who has had their website up and running for many years, but hosted somewhere else. They've been happy with their google results and worry that by changing over to Muse and Adobe Bc that their Google rank will be negatively effected. Will simply changing hosts effect their search results? I've read about 301 redirects, but I don't think that applies here becasue the domain is going to stay exactly the same. We're only changing the host, not the domain name. I don't want to create a beautiful new site for my client, only to have them lose the great search rank they've earned over the last 10 years.
Any thoughts on the issue??

Hi Alan,
Firstly - Any change will effect their google ranking, It is just something that you can not avoid. Every new site build will drop but then go back up if you have done good SEO or improved SEO.
Your building the site in Muse though, this is for graphics to get some nice looking sites up but has no consideration for well optimised code, code structure and SEO etc. So doing the site will see a big difference from a hand coded site.
IF you are doing a new site, do you understand SEO, the importance of H1 header, keywords, strong paragraphs of content, meta data etc? All and more will either have a positive or negative impact on the clients google page rank.

Adobe Muse Advanced SEO Widget question

I have added Adobe Muse Advanced SEO for Local Business to a website. When I click on the verify the Twitter preview, it shows up as my Twitter account and info but with an Adobe Muse Widget logo. Is that correct? Also, when I click on the Facebook preview I get a warning "The 'og:url' property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags." What does this mean and how can I fix this?

Do you also get the same error while using embed code for Twitter ?

What is the difference between Muse and Edge

I have used, and still do, use Adobe products ranging from Premiere, Photoshop, ColdFusion, Dream Weaver, Encore, Acrobat Pro. I use WordPress mainly because its more SEO ready. How does Muse and Edge handle on-page SEO ?

Muse is a WYSIWYG application, where you can design and publish websites without writing code and it generates the code for you. Edge is for creating animated and interactive HTML5 content using JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS.

Secure Zone login feature will only work if you host your website with Business catalyst.

Can you build a mobile website in Muse and redirect to a desktop website which is not built in Muse?

I am looking at the idea of extending my photoshop monthly subscription to one that will give me access to Muse and Illustrator etc.
I have been building mobile websites on a mobile platform and then redirecting these to clients desktop sites - this is an option for clients who don't want to go the whole hog with new web design.
Is it possible to build a mobile website using muse and then redirect this mobile website to an existing desktop site that has not been built on Muse?

You can certainly use Muse for hosting on other hosts as well. You do lose some of the functionality of Business Catalyst such as In Browser Editing. I just saw that you did your current one in Wordpress ... so I assume there is a blog?
If so, keep in mind that Muse alone does not have a blog feature. You can integrate a Business Catalyst Blog into it with a bit of knowledge on how BC works.

Can I create a form in muse and have it work with a different hosting service?

I contacted a hosting service that I need to upload the site I built in MUSE to. (Hosting has already been purchased). I asked OMNIS:
I want to create a form with Muse and then upload my site to OMNIS, not muse, the forms will display as I designed them, but they will not function. I have someone to help me who is experienced in working with code. I can use Muse to export my site and then open the files in an HTML editor. "Update the source code of the form to make it compatible with the form processing technology used by your hosting provider (OMNIS) before you upload the files to their server." Can you help me with this? Do I need to get a script or something from you?

I read in another forum:
There's a handy piece of software from CoffeeCup Software called "Web Form Builder". It's pretty affordable and easy to use and it can be hosted on the server of your choice provided that server uses an up-to-date PHP script.
This is what I have been using....but I would rather not have to deal with a third party form builder at all.
Do you reccommend this?

Working with Muse and other CMS outside Business Catalyst

Well I have been using Adobe Muse and I love it so far, I have been experimenting with some animation on Edge and integrating it to Muse, also like it since I got rid of Flash players, and also has been looking at Business Catalyst. I like the last one very much but here is the thing... not all my clients are so convinced about that! They want to use their choice hosting service which is not Business Catalyst. And although it has pretty cool stuff clients want freedom of choosing something else. Is there any chance Muse will be able in a near future to integrate other CMS and let us designers to have that choice in an easy way?

Illustrator says it can't work on this machine. Photoshop needs a serial number. I'm stumped and getting anxious and freaked out. Can anyone help? Adobe Chat is down right now.

Here is my problem:
I'm triyng to create a website with Muse and first it seems to be easy.
I use a free template, and now I'm designing the page master but the problem is when I try to preview it appears like the picture I enclosed.
The target appearance is in the second file enclosed.
My page seeting is :
I tried to find a solution by myself but I can't find what's the problem...I tried to preview in an another screen and browser but it's the same problem...
Can somebody help me please? It will save me...this is my first work project ever and I want to do it well !

As you are using a very wide page 2000+ , browser adds a scroll to view the page content.
Please try to scale down the page width and height which will solve the issue.
You can set width and height from page properties but if you add contents then page will stretch according to the page elements added.
