Muse bug, text and objects shifting after upload

Muse: when I add a text box with linked text to an existing page, the text box shifts and other elements on the page shift around randomly on the page after uploading. It looks fine when it opens in safari after uploading but not when opened in a fresh browser.

You can't expect Mail to support all the objects of Pages which can include anything up to charts generated from spreadsheet tables.
Even if Mail was a superset of Pages, what would the recipients who don't have either Mail or Pages, make of it?

You haven't said what version of Pages you are referring to.
Hold down the option key when you go to the File menu and Save As… appears.
It was Apple stiff necked response to users complaint about its removal. They couldn't just put it back.
Once you do do this it is pretty much what it was before.

Distorted and disarrayed images after uploading edited page

I had two text boxes with hyperlinks not functioning properly (in Safari, though not in iWeb), so I tried a few methods to fix the problem, none of which have resulted in success. I've deleted the malfunctioning boxes and copied and pasted from other pages. I've deleted them and copied and pasted from within the page, changing the text and linkage to suit. I've deleted them and recreated brand new boxes. I've selected all objects and deleted them and tried to copy and paste them peice meal. When I publish to a folder, and view from my computer, the new pages show distorted sizes, text, and have deleted boxes in other locations. It seems like the png numbers are assigned "out of order" between the html file and the reference folder. I then tried to bring the original file off of my live server and replace the bum file in my published folder on the computer. I'm now realizing that iWeb does not use the published folder during editing.
1) Why is this happening?
2) How do I get it back? (can I import file information back into iWeb rather than into the published folder?)
I notice that someone else had the hyperlink issue on the latest version of iWeb, so it doesn't seem like an upgrade is necessary/would fix the problem.

How to add text and objects (arrows) over a PDF document?

I am only familiar with Adobe Reader. Looking for the least expensive Adobe product that would allow me to add text and arrows over an existing PDF document. Not looking to edit (change) document other than add a "layer" over the original. Basic stuff I'm sure. Thanks for your help.

If you say so But I read the Original Comments and it doesn't sound like adding comments. When you adding layers as he is describing That is adding content.

Updated to Muse CC 2014 and lost all my "Upload to FTP Host" settings. What gives?

Is there a way to preserve the "Upload to FTP Host" settings as we upgrade from version to version? This is a problem from a workflow [and patience!] perspective.

I have the same issue and same error in Muse 2014.2. I can ftp with FileZilla to the same account and I have tried just about every possible ftp setting. I host at GoDaddy. I really need to get this working so that I can use in browser editing with my client. Please help.
I continually get the error, "Could not sign you in..." despite the login being valid. If you keep hitting resume it will eventually, after many clicks, succeed.
I just got off the phone with GoDaddy. They insist that the issue is with Muse after confirming that ftp works fine with other clients, which it does. Their only suggestion was to perhaps adjust a timeout in Muse.
The old hotfix that is now a dead link, would that be helpful?
I'm stuck. My client wants in browser editing, so I need ftp in Muse for that to work. GoDaddy has been a good hosting provider despite their indifference in this case. I am trying to escalate this within GoDaddy, but I won't hold my breath. Honestly, it has to be something specific to Muse or the other ftp clients wouldn't work. I can use FileZilla or ForkLift, but that isn't a solution that gets me in browser editing. It just points the problem at Muse.
Any ideas?

Moving text and objects

I have learned much from reading these discussions. This is my first post and I have had no previous experience with layouts or layers in any other application.
One of my students created this text box. How does she increase the borders around the text in the frame so the text does not bump up against the border? I am not sure how she created it. (Sorry, I thought I could put a picture of the text box in here but it won't import).
How do you make a text box increase horizontally without increasing it vertically?
I have had trouble moving objects after they were placed in the background but have learned how to do this from reading these discussions. (Drag from outside the layout to the object.) Thanks. However, I still have trouble doing this for text boxes made over a shape. Sometimes (and I don't know why) a small insertion image appears. It looks like a paragraph insert sign - has a small wavy line on top with two straight perpendicular lines attached to it going down. What are these? When this is an issue I still can't move text that is placed over an object.
Selecting text to move seems to be different than selecting objects to move.

this I don't understand. If the text would be the content of the shape, you should set every option of the wrap inspector by activating "Object causes wrap" and the tab inspector should be useable, too. If the textbox and the shape behind it would be grouped (you can check this in the menu "Arrange" at the bottom) than you couldn't be able to set the border color or anything else then the size. But maybe I am sitting on my brain.
Of course there are eight handles! Who has mentioned there should be nine? Oh, errr..., my fault
Have a look at the metrics inspector. There is a checkbox titled "Constrain proportions". Uncheck it and you can resize the object like you want.
The best to get a reason of this "thingamajiggys" (how do you speak such a word without enough beer?) is to make a screenshot with layout guides and invisibles shown. Can you send me one or a few screenshots (of the first issue, too) to my e-mail address? You will find it by clicking on my user name in the left column of one of my posts. Or perhaps someone other has an idea.

Unable to send text and play music after upgrading to IOS 6.1

After upgrading to IOS 6.1, I am having problems sending text messages (sms) to several of the contacts to whom I was able to send text earlier. Also all the songs I have downloaded previously from iStore have all stopped playing. Being a new IPhone convert I am seriously regretting why I got rid of my Blackberry

I can understand how you are upset, MJ406. I want to make sure that we do everything we can to get the text messages up and running with out any kind of problems.
When you are trying to send these text messages out are you connected to Wi-Fi or the cell network? If you are connected to wi-fi please do me a favor and turn of the wi-fi, try to send a text to see if it goes out without any kind of issues. Then go into Settings, Application Manager, Slide the screen to the ALL section, Scroll to Messaging and perform a force stop, clear cache, and clear data. Once that is done, power the device off and then turn back on. Once it is back up and running you can turn the wi-fi back on (if you had to turn it off) and retry sending a text message again.

Moving Text and Objects Around on One Page

Hi All
I am Using Acrobat X
I have 36 pages from a pdf printed onto one (without borders) using Adobe PDF printer - Attached image, Sorry please advise if there is a way to attach the actual pdf, I couldnt find one.
These are notes for an exam and given we are only allowed to take in one A4 page, I need to squash these up. Ideaaly i want to be able to highlight certain bits and drag them to other areas.
Note
- The current size of the text is legible when printing
- Taking a screenshot using that tool will not suffice due to quality reduction as the text is so small. Everything is currently vector quality
- I don't have the word docs for these

I can't really think of a good way of doing this in Acrobat without a very round-about workflow.
I would suggest you download and install the trial of Adobe Illustrator. Place your PDF file into a new Illustrator document (Size A4). The PDF file will exceed the document size, but you should be able to see printable area and the PDF spilling over the artboard. Then use the tools in Illustrator to re-arrange the content within the confines of the printable area you need.

InDesign CS6 objects shifting after adding or deleting pages

Hello,
I am working on a catalog which only tables and pictures. If i need to add or remove a page, all objects on subsequent pages moves from original location and I have to go thorough the whole publication to manually correct the position of each object. Can I somehow anchor the objects to prevent them from moving?

Web apps and content holders after upload

I purchased the uguru photography template from business catalyst into which I have inserted my own content worked on in dreamweaver and tested on my trail site. I transfered the whole of the new version successfully to my live site at http://www.misskikisalon.co.uk/. Have checked all files and everything is successfully there. The problem is that none of the web apps and content holders are now working and the interface tells me there are no web apps on the site although all the files have uploaded. The html pages say 'No Items Found' where the web apps should be working and the content holders should be - on product pages it says no product found or item out of stock. Please can you help?
Also on the trial site interface under site manager there are 12 items and under web apps all the associated web apps for the template whereas in my live site in site manager there are 2 items listed under site manager - web forms and system emails and no apps - why the difference?

I purchased the template which places it in the trial site worked on it locally using dreamweaver and then sftp site from dreamweaver to live site.
How can I then use the template from the trial site and the version I have developed in dreamweaver and make this live on my live site. I want my currently live site to use this template and all the development I work since purchasing the template.

Font shift after uploading

I have had a site up and running for a year in iWeb 06. I haven't upgraded to 08. It has worked fine until I just went in and changed a small item on one page of a six page doc. Now all my header and other special fonts [Frank the Architect] are converted to a generic Helvetica it appears. This hadn't happened in the past. Any suggestions?

Locate the fonts you added on the hard disk; they should either be in the /Library/Fonts/ folder from the top level of the startup disk, or in the Library/Fonts/ folder of the item in the Finder's sidebar with the house icon. Once this has been done, move half of them to the desktop and check if the problem persists. Repeat this process until you've isolated the problem font; when this has been done, post back with its name.
You should avoid having more than 100 items on the desktop at any one time; if a move would take you over this number, create a new folder on the desktop and move the fonts there instead.

Can not Group text and shape/object

I have previously made frequent use of grouping text and objects or images together. But in Keynote 4.0.2 this is not possible (for me at least). I am able to lock multiple images, but the group, mask and alpha buttons are not active when selecting a combination of the two (text and objects). Images or objects can be grouped together. Is this a bug or what ?

Open a NEW presentation (it should default to the Title and Subtitle slide of the theme)
Type some text into the Title
Insert a shape (square)
Select the shape and the Title
You should see that you cannot group anything with either the Title or Subtitle object of a slide. If you want to group text to an object, you have to create a new text object. Would this describe your inability to group (ie. limited to when you have Title/Subtitle selected?)

Objects (mostly text boxes, etc.) change slightly after uploading

Hello!
I am a novice Muse user, and love how easy it is to use - but I've noticed what I think may be a glitch with the rendering of text boxes once they're uploaded. When I am in design mode, all of my items are one size and perfectly aligned, but when I preview or upload, some items resize and and end up "off". I've uploaded screencaps of my site in Muse and on the Web to show what I mean. See how the second content box on the live version is slightly longer than the other three? According to design mode, all four of those boxes are exactly the same width and height, but they render differently when uploaded or previewed.
I'm wondering if this is due to responsive resizing when a scrollbar is added in preview/web mode? And if so, how can I fix it? I've already tried adjusting the text in that box. I haven't made the others larger to match it because when I'm in design mode it all looks fine, and I'd have to do trial and error fixing for something that seems like it should be simpler.

I may have discovered a work-around for this fatal bug. Make sure that the area-type object is the top most object in the layer order, or if you are working with multiple type objects, that each type object is in its own separate layer. It seems this bug is most prevalent when the selected objects are in the same layer, and the area-type that is selected is below other selected objects.
I was able to simplify the process of re-creating this bug down to one text box and a rectangle. First, create an area-type object and put some text in it.. Second, create a rectangle. Then, while the rectangle is still selected, use the shift key and direct-selection tool to select the left edge of the area type object. Finally, with both selections active, start moving them and watch the type disappear!
I noticed that if I change the layering order of the type-object, to where it is above the rectangle, then moving the selections, the bug goes away. Also, I found that if I needed to move the selected edges of several area-type objects at once, I could do so, as long as each type-object was in its own layer.
For the amount of time that I have spent on this bug, Adobe should give me the next version of Illustrator for free. Heck, Adobe should give everyone that has to use CS, a free upgrade.
