Muse contact form on third party hosting service

I uploaded a contact form and keep getting an error message that "the server either does not have php installed or the php is not configured correctly." My host service moved my site to a linux server running apache 2.2.23. I am using the default php settings, but can switch to php 4 or php 5.  This is a screen shot of the php settings.

My host kept on insisting that the problem was with the adobe code for the
contact form, but it didn't sound right so after gaining access  to the
admin panel for my site I discovered a default email account had been, I
assume, set up by the system. I started to test submitting both the muse
forms and some pdf forms that I generated using Acrobat XI Pro. The emails
were not delivered to the address coded into the forms but were being
trapped in this default email account. I tried to access the account by
clicking on the webmail button that was shown, but the browser could not
locate the webmail  server. After some more digging I found an
https://mydomain:1111 address that allowed me to get in. All of my test
forms were being trapped and returned to sender with the message that I did
not exist. Obviously since the emails were generated by the php email
function they went nowhere.
At about 2am I sent my host an email with screen shots and have basically
demanded that he find a way to kill the default email account. I have not
heard back yet.
It was a lengthy forum exchange on the Muse forum in 6/13 between someone
in the UK and various forum members and finally adobe's staff that helped
to get me on the right trail. My host is using linux with apache server
software. If this is happeneing to me, it is probably happening to others
and they are being frustrated by a host who either is incapable or
unwilling to dig in to find a solution.
If you want I will let you know how this all turns out.
Thanks for your help, and I am going to post the contents of this email as
part of the forum discussion.

  • Contact forms on third party hosting

    Contact form not working on site hosted with godaddy.  I've looked at a number of threads on here and this seems to be a common problem with no real answers.  As I understand it, contact forms since version 7 should work on other hosting platforms (other than business catalyst)  I've just uploaded a site to godaddy via ftp but the contact form is not working correctly.  I've been on to godaddy support but it is still not resolved and they are out of ideas.  Does anyone know exactly what php settings should be?  I've run the muse php diagnostic and seem to have an sql configuration problem.  As a last resort I'll change the forms to jotform but feel that there must be a solution for the contact forms widget supplied within muse, especially for a major hosting company such as godaddy.  Any help greatly appreciated!

    Hi Gaurav,
    Yes I've been through the guide and I've used the php diagnostic and there is a problem with the sql settings.  I've been in contact with godaddy support to try and sort the server side php settings, they have done what they can but are out of ideas. I'm sure with godaddy being one of the major hosting companies that this has been tackled before.  Do you know what the php settings should be for muse forms to work?

  • Contact form on third party host

    My client has a yahoo email address. It does not have the business name in the path. Is there a way to modify the php file to make it work?

    Hi
    Do you mean, the email used for notification is not on same domain of the site ? It will not matter if the email is not on domain as still notification process would work.
    But please note that php should be supported on hosting platform.
    Please let me know if I am missing something here.

  • With Muse, can you use In-browser editing of websites using Third-party Hosting Service Providers or not?

    On this page:http://www.adobe.com/inspire/2013/12/in-browser-editing-muse.html, it says you must use Adobes hosting. On this page: https://helpx.adobe.com/muse/using/in-browser-editing-websites-third-party-hosting.html, it indicates you can purely from the title. Which is it?

    Hi Bob,
    I found out how to do it, you drag the bounding box of the image container or rectangle to the edge of the browser boundary - as in the gray area around the edge - it snaps to it and the edges of the container go red to show this, and when its previewed it spans 100% of browser width. This video from Lynda explains how:
    Creating the header and the footer (Updated) from the Course Designing a Portfolio Website with Muse
    I can't upgrade as I have windows vista and the new version doesn't run on Vista, don't really want to buy a new computer just to run the latest Muse!
    Cheers!

  • Publishing an Adobe Muse site to a third party hosting provider?

    Hi Guys,
    I'm trying to find instructions as to how to go about publishing my completed Adobe Muse site which is hosted with a third party hosting company, there are videos for publishing to business catalyst alright.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated...
    Thanks
    Have a nice Saturday :-)

    I am having a problem trying to FTP my site created in Muse, too. I am using "Upload to FTP host" (Found under File) and after several tries I am still getting a different error message each time: "Error uploading (a certain file which happens to be a jpg this time!). Click Resume to try again. If this problem persists, try again later.
    [426 Failure reading network stream.]."
    I tried again and again and again. So I called the host company and I checked to see if am using all the correct settings that they have.They verified that I had the proper settings.
    Still no success.

    Yes, you can use Muse form with third party hosting server without needing to write any code. For more info, Please refer to the following link Troubleshooting Muse Form Widgets Used on Third-Party Servers

  • Third Party Hosting Muse Site - 404 Error on Mobile

    Hi guys,
    I recently exported my Adobe Muse site files (pixelariumstudio.com), uploaded them into FileZilla, and then uploaded the site to GoDaddy hosting services using FileZilla.
    The site looks great on desktops but I receive a 404 error whenever I try to view the site on mobile devices (even tablets). I called GoDaddy thinking it was a problem on their end but after two opinions from two separate calls, I've been informed it's the code of the site itself that is the problem. The funny thing is, when the site was hosted through Adobe, it appeared fine on mobile devices but when the site was moved over to GoDaddy, the 404 error arose.
    I'm wondering if Muse writes specific code for displaying a site in mobile browsers that is not recognized by third party hosting services because GoDaddy is not redirecting the site to the mobile view and instead just coming up with a 404 error. If so, is there any way to change the code that Muse writes to display the site on mobile devices so that GoDaddy can recognize it? I've done some research online to see what basic code is used to redirect a site to the mobile view but all I came up with was:
    <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">
    Every guide I find says to place that tag right after the <head> and I do but still no luck getting the website to display on mobile devices. If anyone knows the proper coding to get GoDaddy to display a Muse site on mobile devices, I would forever be in your debt. I'm guessing it's just a couple lines I have to replace but I don't know what lines or with what to replace it. :/ Here is the entire <head> of the website in case this helps find any faulty code:
    <head>
      <script type="text/javascript">
       if(typeof Muse == "undefined") window.Muse = {}; window.Muse.assets = {"required":["jquery-1.8.3.min.js", "museutils.js", "jquery.musemenu.js", "webpro.js", "jquery.watch.js", "jquery.musepolyfill.bgsize.js", "musewpslideshow.js", "jquery.museoverlay.js", "touchswipe.js", "museredirect.js", "jquery.scrolleffects.js", "index.css"], "outOfDate":[]};

    </headHTML>
    <style>

    Sounds like you haven't uploaded all the files exported by Muse.
    Specifically, it looks like you didn't upload the 'phone' folder.
    If you use Filezilla or another 3rd party FTP tool, you have to be sure to upload all the files exported by Muse for your site to work correctly.
    You can also use the 'Upload to FTP host...' menu item within Muse to upload all the files to your web hosting provider.

  • Muse forms hosted on BC and embedded in Muse website hosted on third party host

    Just wondering if there are any plans for Muse forms to be hosted on BC and able to embed on Muse website that is on a third party host? If this is already possible... how?  I know of another company that allows for forms (using their separate web form program) to be hosted through them and embedded in their web design software that can host a site elsewhere... just wasn't sure if Muse was able to do this too.   Thanks, I appreciate any help.

    Hi Davz,
    You can use the Muse forms on a third party host. But if you create a form in BC and embed it in Muse, you can't use it on a third party host. It can be used on BC only.

  • Site deosn't look right in third party hosting and can't publish to catalyst in muse

    the muse export site looked horribly different than in muse. http://www.shopdaisygirls.com/
    and this is what the site is supposed to look like, which it does in muse alone like so...
    as well, I can not publish the site even to catalyst from muse as pictured above, it says there was no response from the server. Check you network connection (which is running fine) and try again.  I've been trying again, alot.  how do I publish correctly to the third party hosting or even to catalyst

    It appears that the master css file is missing. Try this and see if it helps. Ensure you are using the latest version of muse.  Under the edit menu choose preferences and switch user and sign in with your AdobeID.  Re-export the html and upload it to your server.
    Let me know if it helps.

  • Muse contact form widget

    I currently have a yearly subscription to Muse and a webbasics account at Business Catalyst and my site is actually hosted on a third party server Hostmysite.com until that subscription runs out. When I went to use the new contact form widget in Muse it does not work. I spoke with an Adobe represenative and they suggested I use the BC web form builder and style it myself with css/html/javascript to look like the one I designed in Muse or host the site through Business Catalyst as is required to use the widget. I asked the represenative if I had the option to host my site at Adobe with my webbasics plan and my Muse subscription and he said that I would need to purchase a separate hosting package for my site and move it to Adobe servers. However I just read at http://www.adobe.com/products/muse/adobe-hosting.html that an Adobe Muse one-year subscription plan includes hosting for one Business Catalyst webBasics site.*. Is there any way to get this contact form to work still utilizing my third party hosting for now without having to do the styling myself. I have seen some mention of pointing the dns to Adobe hosting but right now I do not want to pay for any additional Adobe hosting. Should I be getting one with my package already. I only have one other site that I created in Muse that is on yet another third party host and I used a business catalyst web form builder to create a contact form and that one works fine and syncs with business catalyst but it is limited in it's styling.

    Hi,
    I have found a solution that enables you to use the muse form widget when yor site is hosted on a third party server. You need to create your forms as seperate web pages and then use your free webbasics Business catalyst webspace to host the form, then insert an iframe on the page you want the form to appear on using the insert HTML option. The code for the iframe is:
    <iframe
    height="205"
    width="470"
    frameBorder="0"
    src="http://yourform.businesscatalyst.com/yoursite.html">
    </iframe>

  • Muse Contact Forms in GoDaddy

    This is a serious issue. Some of my clients have hosting accounts with GoDaddy. The simple contact form DOES NOT WORK. The message is sent and then just disappears. Please someone from Adobe Muse answer why this is happening and what can be done to fix this situation. It is extremely important that these forms work correctly in third party hosting. And please don't tell me that I have to go through some complicated HTML add-on solution.
    The forms are being sent to and email address with the same domain name, so that is not the issue.
    This is a very frustrating situation.

  • Fees for Third Party Hosting

    Is theri an Adobe fee to export/publish a Muse designed site with a third party host?

    Nope, you just don't get all the same functionality you would such as In Browser Editing, detailed site statistics, etc that are only part of BC Hosting. Also if it is only a basic site the BC hosting is free for a limited number of sites.

  • Spam Email via MUSE Contact Form

    I've been experiencing a high volume of spam via my MUSE contact form on one of my websites. I know that the captcha tool is available but only if I use the Business Catalyst hosting. Using BC hosting is not an option for this website. Do you have any suggestions or solutions?
    -Ben

    You can use the module {module_visitoripaddress} which displays the IP address of the visitor on pages ,with form you would need to insert an input field ( custom field )
    <input type="hidden" name="BCNAMECODE" value="{module_visitoripaddress}">
    In addition I would also suggest to enable harder captcha which will lower down the spam submission.

  • Problems with certain text appearing once exported as HTML on my third party hosting site

    Hello,
    I am experiencing problems with how certain text is appearing on my website www.pplmedia.com/speakers.
    Most of the text is appearing how I want it to once I have exported it out of Muse, but for a reason I can not rectify, certain text is coming out as plain Arial Black text, in a bigger font and the text boxes move slightly. If you go onto the page  www.pplmedia.com/jock-wishart  you will see what I mean.
    I have taken the text out of Muse, put it into the program 'TextEdit', I changed the text from rich to plain, put the text back into Muse and the problem still remains.
    I have also published the site as a trial in BC and the text is how it should be, so I assume this is an issue with third party hosting I am using?
    If someone can get back to me to offer any help or suggestions that would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards
    Oliver
