  • PDF Upload and Downloads in Muse designed BC websites

    This shouldn't be as difficult as it is in the otherwise intuitive Muse interface.  I want to upload a PDF to my BC hosted Muse designed website and make it linked and available for use.  But the FTP upload process isn't working.  Help?

    Never did connect with FTP.  But was able to load my PDF directly thru Muse software upload once I found thru another post that you could hyperlink to a file that was not an HTML page in the hyperlink dropdown menu.  Only after finding that the
    "link to file" option was supposed to be there did I scroll down my full list of already crafted html files for the site and see the option "link to file" at the bottom.  It was easy from there.  In a software update I would suggest reserving space at the bottom of the hyperlink dropbox such that the "link to file" option is always visible no matter how many recent links or other html pages are already done or recently used..
    Thankfully direct FTP is not yet needed by me - I am a former GoLive user and never had trouble with FTP uploads there - I think the problem is in the handshaking with the Adobe site.
    Thanks for the response though, and keep tweaking the Muse.  Good little program.

    I am designing a web for a music shop and the client have bought the quick shopping cart from go daddy. I have made different categories within the shop and put the items there, but now I don't know how to embed that into my own muse design. I design a page for each categories and now I just want to embed the items there. Anyone knows how to do it?

    If there is some code that you need to include in your muse design, for the quick shop to work, then you can use the option of 'object -> insert html' and to insert any scripts that is required by this integration you need to insert it in the 'html for the head' section under 'page properties -> metadata'

    Can you change the extensions in Adobe Muse from .html to .htm?
    I'm updating an old site where the extensions for the pages were all.htm. This means that when I upload the site index.htm is not being over written by index.html.

    It is not possible to change the extension in Muse at the moment. You can export the site as HTML and change the extensions outside the Muse.

    I am looking to design a taxi theme type of websites, does anybody know any exisiting templates I can work on?

    1.　ニュースレターをPhotoshopCCでデザインし、MUSE CCに配置。
    2.　リンクやYOUTUBEの動画を埋め込んだりして作成。
    3.　そしてMUSE CCでHTML形式で書き出し。
    4.　作成された index.htmlをダブルクリック
    5.　Safari上にニュースレターを表示
    6.　ニュースレターを選択してコピー
    7.　MacMailのメール作成を開きペイスト
    最終的にYOUTUBEの埋め込みが反映されず、ニュースレター全体がイメージ画像の扱いになって表示されます。
    リンクは作成したニュースレターのイメージ画像の上に表示できています。
    MUSE CC 2014.2 で普通のHTMLメールのように作成し書き出す方法はありますか？

    I am pulling the site a part to find out what I did wrong, I think it was the contact forms that I customized within muse.

    Ok well I realise that my source code needs changing to match that of the working page as transplanting the source code of a non working page into a copy of the working page doesn't work.
    At least I have some sort of starting point now to work from.

  • Adobe Muse Designs Too Small

    I'm an amateur web designer making a page for a friend's counseling clinic. When I preview my site in the browser, it automatically zooms in to 110%, which makes the site appear like I design it. However, if I go to 100% zoom, the normal setting, there are margins/blank spaces on the sides of the page.
    Here's the page in Muse interface- you can see that the header menu is set to the very edge of the page.
    Here's the page when previewing in the browser- what it automatically zooms to upon opening. The black on the edge is just my desktop, the page looks fine.
    Here's the page at normal, 110% zoom level.
    My question is this: is there a way to correct this, or is this a standard problem with Muse? Secondly, when the page is hosted online, will it automatically zoom in to 110% when opened in a browser?

    It's not clear to me what effect you're trying to achieve.
    Since you don't know how wide your site visitors browsers will be you can't be sure exactly how things will look.
    Muse supports a few different possibilities.
    Option 1) Muse can center the 'page' area in the browser window. This is the default behavior.
    Option 2) Muse can put your page content in the top left corner of the browser window. The get this behavior turn off 'center page' in the page properties dialog.
    Option 3) (can be combined with option 1 or 2) Muse can stretch certain elements to the full width of the browser.

    actually it's SOOO simple
    create a new blank page> design your page the way you want your email to look
    insert links pictures etc> publish your page> open that page with Safari> click
    FILE> scroll down to "mail contents of this page" select that and it opens your default email client creats a small say 20KB email you can send that to whomever and because it is HTML based it goes to the site and gets all the images just like the big boys do it!
    Viola you got an HTML email from iWeb!

  • Adobe Muse: Design with freedom and leave the geeks to check the code

    I want to praise the development team for the idea Muse is projecting. I have used all shapes and manner of web authoring tool. Muse happens to be the only tool thats gives designers the freedom to design without hassles. Though, Muse is not yet fully developed but I'll advise the development team to continue to make the tool more powerful without limitations.
    My suggestion is for the development team to provide more features with less emphasises on 'widgets'. Not that they are not good, but I dont think it should be the focus of the development team. Please focus on the idea of 'design-then-allow-Muse(Using jquery/HTML/CSS/Javascript) to write all your design intent with those technologies.' That to me is innovative! Just the way Edge works. That way designers can create anything and not limited to widgets. Expose Muse to all known javascript/jquery effects/transitions/etc, drag/css cursor change/etc

    Muse is just a lovely idea! It's just taking too much time to get it ready for real work! Kudos Adobe!

    Here is it in my Browser (Safari): PLEASE NOTE GREEN TEXT POINTING TO SCROLL BAR BEING UP.....
    Notice how on the next pic, I have scrolled down (see scroll bar on the right) but my page content has not moved up (Again, see green text):
    Yup, it's probably an easy fix, but I don't know how to make Muse just 'do it'.

  • Muse for Joomla and Wordpress

    I read the previous post back on April 2012. I have worked with Adobe products for over 20 years and I make my living using your products. But I also create dozens of websites on the joomla and Wordpress cms. I read in 2012 that you stated that Muse is not have native functionality that allows an easy export to Joomla and Wordpress or  I just designed a  responsive site with desktop, tablet and phone formats. I need a way to export this to joomla site as fresh install, do you know of an app or joomla extension that will do this. I realize I may have to tweak it in code but I don't want to hire a coder to translate it manually. Joomla and Wordpress are the dominant platforms in cms and are very assessable by my clients and although I like adobe business catalyst to truly have this program work for me and thousands of other working designs who use your programs daily and to adapt Muse as a part of our work flow we need a way to do this. Has anything changed since 2012?

    Muse is such a great software but its really not going to get that exposed and used that much because of the fact that its not compatible with Giants like Wordpress, Joomla and Drupal
    just to name a few, after all most websites are using cms software right???
    Muse is so fast and easy to get around if only there's a future update to export your template as a wordpress template, with out knowing advance PHP,HTML,CSS and SQL it will be a great success. (Checkout artisteer)
    You probably thinking so why don't you use artisteer well people like me prefer using one software brand in this case the adobe suit does everything for me why should I move on to a third party software I really don't know about that well and pay additional money?

    The index.php file for wordpress isn't the index.php file in your theme file.  Well, it is and it isn't.
    As far as you as a theme developer is concerned, index.php is what you are interested in.  As far as the browser is concerned it will first go to that top-level index file and the build the page dynamically and eventually, if that's what it needs, Wordpress will work its way to the appropriate theme file(s).
    I am afraid that I use CS4 (CS6, here I come!) and never really got on with the whole local server thing for a wordpress site.  I use Dreamweaver to edit then upload and test in the browser but then these days, I tend to do that for static sites as well.  I do have an index.php in the root of the WP site I am currently working in and it has this in it:
