Muse Export to HTML Error #1000 -

Just updated Muse to version 5, and am trying to export the site to html and it almost finished the process when I get error #1000 - not enough system memory.  It doesn't crash Muse though, it just won't finish the export.  My file size is 50 MB and I can preview individual pages in a browser (Chrome) without issue.  How do I change the preferences for system memory in Muse?

Hi CanadianForester,
While I realize the export is now working for you, I'd be grateful is you could send us a copy of your .muse file at [email protected] along with a link to this thread (you could use a service such as WeTransfer, Adobe SendNow, Dropbox, etc.).
We're currently investigating a bug that can result in this error when exporting some sites and it would be very helpful to have another file that has encountered this error. Thanks.

  • How to make muse export to html and image/asset files only without css and jquery?

    Hi there adobe community,
I am here today to see if there is a way of only exporting a muse site as html with the css integrated in like dreamweaver does. Therer probably is no way to do this. However, i dont want external .css files and .js files i want them all in the html file, is there a way to do this. The reason i want to know is because my client wants no external files and only wants an image and html documents. I told him that it might not be possible and i want to know if it is. If you could help me that would be great.
    Thankyou For Your Time.

    Hi Pink,
When Muse exports as HTML , It exports everything separately like the HTML files , .Css files in a different folder and the .js files in a different folder. There is no way in Muse that you can export in any other way.
This is because a lot of the Css properties are used all across the site and not only on a particular page and so these properties are shared.
Moreover this is a much more efficient way of designing a website rather than keeping everything in  a single file.

  • Muse Export to HTML

I exported my site to HTML out of Muse and uploaded ALL of the files to my FTP using Cyberduck. When I go to the site, the pics and most images are missing. What did I do wrong? I have used Dreamweaver in the past and have never had this issue. Please help.

Well, for giggles, I deleted everything in my FTP on cyberduck. Re exported the files and re-uploaded the site. Now it works. Go figure. What a waste of a day! But at least it works now.

  • Muse won't export in HTML or upload to BC

I am trying to replace our current website with the new design I created in Muse but when I go to export the site in HTML it gets to 67% and stops. When I try to upload the files to BC I get an error message about an asset that is trying to load or it freezes when it gets to exporting the HTML. What could be causing this issue and how do I resolve it so I can update our site.

I did get an error message.

  • Muse freezes when attempting to Export to HTML...

    Hello,
I'm currently working on a photographer's website, with over 1000 pages. Every time I try and export to html the program freezes when at about 78% completed exporting. It also happens when I try to publish to the businesscatalyst temporary site.
Anyone know, or have a guess at the problem?
    Thanks!

Sorry for the slow reply. Thank you for sending your file. (I was on vacation for a few days.)
At ~1.5Gb and 978 pages, yours is the largest .muse file I've seen to date.
Muse is currently not a great tool for the site you're creating. The shear size of your site is beyond what Muse can work with in a single .muse file.
Your site is best suited to a Content Management System where a small set of template pages are married with a database of items, products, or in your case, animal species. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any Content Management Systems that provide a no coding WYSIWYG solution to website creation. I'm confident Muse will eventually grow to enable database-drive website creation without coding, but we're not there yet.
If using a CMS and a developer and/or coding a site is not an option, then you could get to the end result I think you're looking for with the current Muse, but it will be labor intensive to create and maintain.
The basic idea would be to view your website as a set of smaller microsites (all hosted under the same domain name yourbiz.com). Each microsite would be uploaded to a separate directory/folder on your hosting. Perhaps there would be a folder (and thus a .muse file) for birds-a-d and another for birds-e-h, etc. You would manually create URL hyperlinks to link from a top-level microsite with the home page and major category navigation pages to specific pages within the microsites. And manually create URL links from the microsites back to the top-level microsite.
Strictly speaking there is no specific page count, image count or other complexity limit within Muse. But as the total size and complexity of a .muse file increases, the performance of Muse will degrade. Targeting a page count of 50-100 pages per .muse file (assuming low to moderate complexity per page, as you currently have) should provide reasonable performance and room for growth in each .muse file.
We're actively working on major changes that will eliminate some of the memory constraints Muse currently has and enable us to take alternative approaches to improving performance of large sites. But it will be some time before the fruits of our labors result in Muse being the best tool for creating and maintaining a website like yours.

  • Non-Muse form not exporting to html but works in BC testing.

Non-Muse html form tested ok on BusinessCatalyst but does not show up on page when exported as html from muse.  Note: Site is not hosted on BusinessCatalyst but BC is the testing server. Form is present on host server and was working in an earlier version.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.  JW

    Hi JW,
When you export the site as HTML, do you get any error related to the form?
Please check the files exported to your computer. Does the form exist?

  • Muse Crashes when exporting to HTML

After installing the latest update, my Muse began crashing every time I export to HTML. It will get about 75% of the way through before producing a crash report. I don't get any specific error number and no files (even partial ones) show up in the folder I exported to. I tried exporting an old version that I had successfully exported in the past before, and it still crashes. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Muse. I can't think of anything else to try to see if it's on my end, but it seems to be associated with the latest update. I had a coworker who hasn't updated try and he was able to export just fine. Please help!

I'm also getting this, when trying to export to HTML or when trying to publish direct to Business Catalyst. Same error, get's to 75% and then crashes. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't help.

  • Is it possible to export a Muse project as HTML to use locally inside a browser?

I am trrying to see if it possible to export a Muse project in the same way, for example, it is possible with Fireworks to export a PNG file with hotspots as HTML and Images.
I want to be able to look at the project hosted locally and still click on sections of the site, click on links within the site making it appear like a live web site, but locally in my machine.
    Thank you!

    Hello,
You can use File>Export as HTML option and  it will export your website to a local folder.
Then you can open the index.html page in a web browser and it will give you experience of your site with all active links.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Sachin

I am not able to use the ftp export in Muse. When I enter my host, name and password, I get a long interlude of rainbow wheel and finally the message that my ftp host cannot be found. I have verified the name and that it is port 21. I can export to html and use another ftp client to upload (to the same server) but this is tedious and making minor changes is painful. Have you encountered this and found a solution?

    Hi Susan,
In that case I will recommend that you consult a local technician/IT team and see if there is some network connectivity issue with your machine.

  • When I design with Muse and export as HTML Dreamweaver doesn't attach the style sheets. Any answers?

When I design with Muse and export as HTML Dreamweaver doesn't attach the style sheets when I open the files with Dreamweaver. Essentially when I design with Muse the files don't render the same with Dreamweaver. Is this a bug? Any work arounds?

Then you will have to install a local server and use live view.  It's not that DW isn't rendering it or isn't attaching it, it's that Muse decided to use server-side processing to include it which is ok for a CMS practice when you are combining stylesheets for better caching, but it really isn't ideal for a single style sheet.  This is a shortcoming of Muse and one of the reasons many professionals don't back the product at the moment.  That and you can't actually buy Muse, so unless you are on a subscription you don't have it.  It's trying to fill a void for those who don't want to invest in the professional design tools like Fireworks or Photoshop or Dreamweaver, but want a cross between them to make designs.  If you have invested in the subscription though and want a better way to make layouts I highly recommend coding it yourself and using Fireworks or Photoshop to do the layout for you.  There is an excellent tutorial on the devnet (3 parts) to show you how its done ( http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/dw_fw_css_pt1.html ).  Once you start using Fireworks or Photoshop you will realize just how limited Muse is in design.

  • Is it possible to export the html code from a muse site that I am building?

Is it possible to export the html code from a muse site that I am building?

Mac_Heibu has the right idea. When you export your site to HTML, it creates a folder that contains all of your pages. Here's an example of what the folder will contain. All of your HTML pages, all your scripts, CSS, and it'll also have individual folders WITHIN your main folder for your phone or tablet versions, if applicable. This method allows you to upload your files to an FTP host. However, if you're trying to upload it to an FTP, the BETTER option would be to go File > Upload to FTP Host. If this has helped you, please mark mac_heibu's answer as the Correct Answer, and feel free to mark my reply as a Helpful Answer.
