Muse Installer file is damaged?

I was prompted to update Muse when launching and after I did so it said the installer file was damaged. I have un-installed and re-installed and the application manager says that Muse is installed but is nowhere to be found on my harddrive.
I found another post in here that give a link for a new installer (muse 2-2 install mac.dmg) but now I am back to the beginning ... "installer file damaged"
(working on a Mac)
Any help would be great at this point.

Here are two links that Adobe gave me.
Basically it is suggested if you are a creative cloud user to uninstall everything and reinstall.
Link 1:
http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-creative-cloud-installation-download .html#removing_creative_cloud and redownload the program again?
If that doesn't work then follow:

Will let people know if this works for me (fingers crossed)

    Hi Kashmore,
Seems like the downloaded file was corrupt that could be because of either network restriction or the anti virus might have blocked it. My suggestion would be to try and download the product either by turning off the Antivirus or try a different network.

  • This Adobe Muse site file is damaged and cannot be open.

    Hi all,
While making some edits to my muse site, my mac froze, and I waited for about 10 mins and it was still frozen--so I forced restarted my computer. Upon re-opening the file, I received the message "This Adobe Muse site file is damaged and cannot be open." I was wondering if there is any way to recover the file. I have a very recent HTML export of the site, is there a way to re-import that into a muse file? Or perhaps the file is somehow able to recover? I'm on an iMac that was just bought. It's pretty frustrating because my last backup was from two weeks ago and there have been major updates to the design of the site. At the very least, I have the latest export to copy the layout from, but my site is 50+ pages. Thanks in advance for any help.
    -Jack

I don't have good news. The file is truncated. It's shorter than it should be and the missing information isn't something I can manufacture.
From your description of events and looking at the information in your log file we believe you hit a rather obscure weakness in the Mac OS, or perhaps Mac hardware or the hard drives/controllers used. When an application writes to a file and requests the file be flushed to the physical media, two things occur. The first is the data is written to the physical media and the second is a table on contents on the media is updated to indicate the new length of the file. In this case it appears the Save completed successfully as far as Muse could tell (the success is reported in the log), but what probably occurred is either a very low-level OS crash and/or your restart of the computer occurred before the length of the file was updated in the table of contents.
Unfortunately, after some time spent searching online, it doesn't appear as though there are any Mac OSX tools that will re-extend a file without altering the bytes in the newly extended area. Or at least I couldn't find any (and it makes sense for security reasons that the old data wouldn't be there when the file was re-extended). Even if there is such a tool, it's very likely other activity on your machine since the restart has already overwritten those bytes with some other file, so the missing part of the file is now gone.
I'm sorry, but I'm not aware of any way to recover or repair your file.

  • How do I fix error message "installer file is damaged"?

I have tried to download an application that uses Abode AIR.  I always receive the same error message "Sorry, an error has occurred. The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged.  Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author."  I have installed, uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe AIR and keep getting the same error message.  Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

This usually indicates that the certificate used to sign the AIR install has expired.  Based on an archived discussion on this topic, you can search for SignatureTimeStamp in the signatures.xml file in the META-INF folder and, if it is not found, then the install has no signature time stamp and will not install after the certificate expires.
I'm having the same problem, but searching for SignatureTimeStamp is found.  The search returns the following:
    <xades:SignatureTimeStamp>
So, it would appear that there is a Time Stamp for the Signature in my case so the install should not fail.   I would first check the above.  Since you cannot install the app, you can try to open up the installation file with the .air extension as a zip file and drill down until you find META-INF and then drill down to find signatures.xml.  Search for SignatureTimeStamp and see if it is found.
In the meantime, I was wondering if anyone else in this forum can explain why the install fails for me even though I can locate <xades: SignatureTimeStamp> in the signatures.xml file in the AIR install file.

  • Installer file is damaged

I can't install the .AIR file created by my Flex Builder 3 (SDK 3.5 with AIR SDK 2.5).
I compiled my Air project, executed without any trouble (also in debug mode) but when trying to install on my pc (Windows XP) I get this error message from AIR installer:
The application could not be installed because the installer file is  damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author
Viewing air logs I've found the following lines:
[2010-11-03:16:33:00] Application Installer begin with version 2.5.0.16600 on Windows XP x86
    [2010-11-03:16:33:00] Commandline is: "C:\Documents and Settings\....air"

[2010-11-03:16:33:03] Application Installer end with exit code 7
My PC has AIR runtime version 2.5, but previously AIR 2 beta2 was installed... then removed.
I tried to clean registry entries and to reinstall AIR 2.5 but with no luck.
Installation on a "clean" pc which had no AIR beta version has been successful.
    Thanks for suggestions...

    But your log says:
    [2010-11-03:16:33:01] Got an unexpected fatal error while unpackaging: [ErrorEvent type="error" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="Unknown namespace: http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/2.0beta2" errorID=0]
Are you sure the AIR file has the right namespace? Could you unzip the AIR file and open the application.xml inside to make sure?

  • This adobe Muse site file is damaged and cannot be opened.

This is a nightmare. I finished this website, went to go and update and got the message that the site file is damaged and cannot be opened. Are you serious? What can be done to get the file back, and how can this be prevented from happening again? I may have to completely toss out Adobe Muse because this is not good. Please help.

Please send us the .muse file and the MuseLog.txt file from your Documents folder to [email protected] along with a link to this thread. If the files are larger than 20Mb you can use a service like Adobe SendNow, Dropbox, WeTransfer, etc. (If you use a service, please include your return e-mail address in the body of the message, since not all services include it in the sharing invite they send.) Thanks.
Was the file stored in a synchronized folder (i.e. Dropbox, Creative Cloud Files folder, etc.)?

However many times I re download the widget app I get the same result.
The reason for the download was that the previous installation started to behave strangely downloading a lot of stuff for no apparent reason. I have Kaspersky Internet Security which is up to date and Advanced System Care. None of my security programs report any malware.
Re-installation of windows is out of the question!!!
I have tried everything on the forum with no sucess - any help gratefully recieved. Thanks

I have EXACTLY the same issue, had issues with downloading excessive data. Uninstalled latest version of widget and latest version of Adobe Air. The I reinstalled them fresh...or tried too. The Met Office Widget failed exactly as yours did. My log looks like yours.
I contacted the Met Office and got this response:
    Thank you for your email.
There is a known issue at this time with the Met Office Desktop Widget which is currently under investigation by our IT Team.
We hope to have this resolved shortly and we apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

  • Latest Kuler installer file is damaged

I just uninstalled, AIR B2, Flex B2, and Kuler, and installed
Flex B3, AIR B3, and am trying to install the latest Kuler for AIR
B3. The file I am downloading is:
    http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs/kuler/kuler_desktop_121207.air
When I try to install it, AIR throws this error: "Sorry an
error has occurred. The application could not be installed because
the AIR file is damaged. Try obtaining a new AIR file from the
    application author."
Am I doing something wrong, or is this just a bad install
    file?

The file posted on labs is working great.
I tried the link on kuler.adobe.com and it does not work.
The file downloads and then unzips itself leaving a kuler folder
with all the files inside (swf, icons, etc). So I guess it's just
not packaged up correctly. If it helps to know I did notice that
there were 30 errors opening the kuler web site in the activity
console. They are all the same thing and read:
    (generated by JavaScript) Unsupported URL
They appear just below the link
    kuler.adobe.com/kuler/scripts/swfaddress.html in the activity
    list.

Hi, I am trying to run the adobe installer but I get this error, "The application cannot be installed because the installer file is damanged." I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling again but nothing works. Please help. I am on a Mac and running OS X 10.8.

    I have the same issue.
    The file is 2.4MB
I have tried downloading it with Chrome and Firefox. I have emptied my cache and deleted history so that I get a new copy of the file.
    Here is the where: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=designweb_premium
I am trying to install design and web premium CS6. I have a key and want the product, so I thought I could download the trial version and hopefully insert the key there. We paid for the upgrade when we bought CS5.5 and now want to move to the new version.
The error message specifically says that the installer is corrupt and to try downloading it again.
    I have a screen shot.
I have checked and Gatekeeper is already off.

I have another application developed in Flex Builder 3 and a release build with the same installer has no problem.

Try to download that again or disable the antivirus while downloading and after that enable it. Further try to run it in administrator mode if possible.
